From Friday to Sunday, we were visiting Imatra, a city near the Russian border. I took part in MTKL (Mental Health Congress) Sports and Culture Days. We stayed at a spa.

On Saturday, I participated in a track and field event. I won the bronze medal in racewalking because the person who finished third was disqualified for running.

I also sang some karaoke. Then I tried to sleep but was interrupted by the fireworks. Some of us thought Russia was attacking!

When was the last time you went on holiday?

Aw Mika! Yes it has been quiet here, hasn't it...

I'm still on holiday because i haven't yet found work in Chicago, but on the bright side, I'm killing it at Pokemon Go, LOL.

When was the last time Russia attacked Finland?

I've been checking TPM everyday, but so many people seem to be away! Louis hasn't posted on Lingo in a while, no one has read my Battle Range story... This place was starting to look abandoned. I hope that changes now.

When was the last time Russia attacked Finland?

Winter War, Continuation War (and Lapland War, which was against Third Reich though) were parts of World War II here, and it was a bit unclear whether or not it was Soviet Russia who attacked first. Many Finns still suffer from a strong Russophobia, especially after what happened in Ukraine recently. In my opinion that kind of a prejudice is kinda childish but it's also true that throughout centuries, many nations have had trouble with Russia. Maybe that's because they have land border in common with so many countries!

Took a week at the beginning of the month with friends and family (including my 10 month old son) to Gulf Shores, Alabama. Boogie boarding and general laziness were great, but since this is a Pokémon forum, I wanted to talk about playing Go. First, that the variety of Pokémon around was insane compared to suburbia. Second, that there was a Magikarp spawn a few weeks from our rental house, which a few of my friends would walk over to hourly. And lastly, that we teamed up to make a sand Magikarp (https://reddit.com/r/pokemongo/comments/4xfo2q/found_a_magikarp_beach_spawn_on_vacation_so_we/)! All in all, it was a great time.

By the way, I'm moving to another apartment as well. That's why I don't know if I can keep you in touch so often this week.

Good luck with the move!

And as I've said before, don't worry, TPM is not a job. :)

Well I'm still waiting for a reaction to my latest comment/share in the election thread. As of now I assume I rendered everyone retort-less with that. :)

As for holiday, I went to Atlanta for a week this past April for Passover. Was nice to get away from this city...

Perhaps you should first respond to mattbcl as you promised since the 4th of August before you make erroneous assumptions that a lack of response is indicative of a win.

Anyway, to stay on topic:

Glad to hear you had a fun weekend, Mikachu! And good luck with your move.

The last holiday I went to was in late June with my girlfriend. We spent a week in the sunny Gold Coast, Queensland. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_Coast,_Queensland) to temporarily escape the southern Australia winter. Movieworld and Dreamworld were highlights.

I think we need to accept the inactive nature of TPM and let go of characterising its' success on activity when other Pokemon sites are well established. It's now a wonderful and relaxing forum for old online friends. It almost feels like a nice retreat from the busy-ness of other areas of the internet. :)

That's about the nicest way of thinking about it that I've heard.

I mostly don't see the point of posting if I don't have anything constructive to add to the conversation.

I gotta agree with Shannon though. I like that it's quiet here. I don't really want a boom of self absorbed teenagers joining, I deal with them enough on a daily basis XP

Oh, thanks. Almost all my stuff are in my new apartment now. It's an end of an era but at the same time a new beginning, of course. I'll have a semi-new mental health support system and looking forward to it.

Got to quote this one too. Well said.
