View Full Version : What's happening in 'team meeting'?!

Hi Little_Pikachu,

I've recently realised that I haven't had access to 'Team Meeting' in 15 years. I request a year by year summary of the important events that have occurred in this thriving forum.

Thank you!

same but for me

There is no Team Meeting. Really, there's no forum with that name.

I thought that was the name too, for years. Man, when you don't know the truth about something, it can be slightly on the confusing side. Then again, I don't think anyone who has never been modded really cares that much about the existence of a staff-only forum if there is one. I know I don't really care about whether it exists or not, but I suppose I might if I was surprised on here by being modded somewhere I frequent when I least expected it (after all, hard work pays off, like when I got that volunteer award for my outstanding work a couple of weeks ago. If my work ethic wasn't as strong as it is (it's really strong), I might not have gotten that award; it was definitely unexpected).

TPM isn't active enough to require any more mods.

There is something called Fight Club, but all it has is a chat thread where hardly anyone ever posts, and some very old discussions. We used to discuss plans for April Fools in there, but we're not even doing that this year, and all things considered, if anyone has any ideas you might as well post them in Misc so that everyone can join the fun. It's not like surprises ever worked well around here.

I wonder if it's even worth having a mod forum at this point. But I guess just keeping it there doesn't hurt, in case there's ever an emergency (like someone hacking accounts or something).

Oh, and it's all RB/M in there.

I just thought of something...on another forum I visit, there's a forum that's considered a display case of sorts that they use for posts that "shine" a little more than the rest (basically, it's like a museum; people cannot reply to posts in that forum, and they cannot make new threads there either). Maybe the mod forum ought to be converted into a "display case" forum if anyone feels it is necessary (I'm only making this as a suggestion for you guys to consider), either that, or maybe this forum ought to be one made from scratch. As one of the people from 2000 that hasn't even been modded once, I feel like I'm the only active member these days I know of that fits both of those "criteria", and I'd sure like to see a forum that contains as many of the "historic" posts here as possible.

On that note, who is our resident historian here?

i've been surreptitiously keeping a long term record of demographic information indexed to user activity if that counts

I suppose that could count, but I was more thinking of topics that stood out more than others, and in a good way (not just Mt. Moon topics. but topics from anywhere on TPM; though I suppose the EZBoard topics would be impossible to retrieve or quote here). Thanks though for your input, kurai.

No April Fools joke this year?

Hi Lady Vulpix,

I've subsequently been informed that I haven't had access to 'Fight Club' since its formation. I request screenshots and/or direct access of every topic and every post, including the chat thread and April Fools plans, for historical pursuits.

Thank you!

sidebar: the best april fools plan is sending active members a password of accounts for obviously now inactive members who were once relatively known. we then play a game to guess who is whom. with this access, we have the freedom to emulate or deviate from their original account. if you are reserved about this, perhaps for moral or privacy reasons, please outline why this is so. tentative rebuttals: obviously this should be implemented whereby no privacy is obtained, and the original password is reset on april 2nd. their long term departure from TPM negates any emotional moral response.

I think this is worth moving to Misc by now.

Kyle: don't we have the archive forums for that? Also, please note that you are as respected as any mod on TPM. We're just not adding new mods because there isn't much for a mod to do these days.

shazza: I thought you had "special people" status? Anyway... Letting people steal other people's accounts is an awful idea. What would happen if one of them suddenly decided to come back (which has happened before)? But we've done a costume party before with people making new accounts for the occasion. If you like that, we can do it again this year.

Thanks Gabi...I totally forgot about the Main Archive subforum here, so I guess that was an epic fail on my part (and just for the record, I know someone in RL who has aspergers just like me, Shonta, and Mikachu, and this person just loves epic fails. I have no idea how she got a kick out of them).

And regarding the moderator situation, that's totally understandable. I cannot deny that there some staff people I do miss around here though (including The_Missing_Link, MeLoVeGhOsTs, and yes, even little_pikachu. But most of all, I miss mr_pikachu). I hope at least one of them reaches out to TPM again someday.

I hope so too.

And I think people can get a kick out of anything. I can't understand what some people see in some things, but... there are people for everything.

Exactly what I was thinking. In fact, we could make it last more than just one day, so that everyone willing will have time to show up. I remember Blademaster being upset because he missed that one.

Lady Vulpix
19th March 2017, 08:04 AM
OK, we can do another costume party, then.

As for DK's comment... we did do the 'naked mods' thread for April Fools once, remember? I showed my naked hand that day.

And then there's this idea of demolishing Mt. Moon, and moving all its threads to Mt. Moon Archive. That forum has totally lost its way and meaning. I believe shazza, the Prince of Mt. Moon, supports this.

Lady Vulpix

Mt. Moon can never lose it's way and meaning because it's never had any to begin with.

But Gabi, there's this stickified topic called 'FIRST' in Mt. Moon and there Heald tells what Mt. Moon is for, and he even quotes you there.

Yes, but it's an "everything goes" forum, so... anything you do will stillbe in the spirit of Mt. Moon.

I never did see the point in having that forum. Everything people do there could just as well be done elsewhere. But well, people wanted it, so there it is.

I am going to test that out.

As long as your post is neither blatant SPAM nor an attack against someone, you should be fine.

Mikachu Yukitatsu
24th March 2017, 04:53 AM
I think one of the points of posting a thread in Mt. Moon has been that you're more likely to get a response there, especially if you don't care about the quality or being on topic.

Lady Vulpix
24th March 2017, 08:17 AM
It speaks really badly of TPM as a whole if youŕe more likely to get a response on Mt. Moon than elsewhere. If that is the case, itś something we need to work to change.
