Old sprites, new colors

I started recoloring a few old Pokemon sprites when Pokrmon Forever had that sprite recoloring project. I think it's a great idea for there are many poses for old Pokemon that I like better than the R/S ones. Here's a small example:

Arcanine, Hitmonchan, and Ivysaur are from the Yellow version, Nidoran female is from the Red/Blue versions, Electabuzz and Lapras are from Crystal, Eevee's from Silver, and Chikorita's from Gold. Don't they look a TON better with R/S colors?

the vaporeon as my avatar is a recolor of the old sprites. I just finished it when meowth stopped doing that. *was angry*

I've done some... for example Charizard and Butterfree in my sig (although they're not the best ones)... I love doing those.

Nice. For the Pokedex I am intending to vectorize each Pokemon sprite...so we'll see how things work out.

lol exactly what I've been asking myself lately XD those fake cards were cool... whatever happened to the "official TPM TCG deck" everyone was working on? can we start that up again, that was fun XD this seems more like the kirby fad to me, though o0 someone does a topic.. someone else sees it and does it.. and then the whole first page is full of it @_@ ANYWAY back to the original topic >_> yeah, Ivee, if only RBY knew about a little word called 'shading' :p those look a lot better than the original sprites, IMO. good job ^_^

With how dead FanArt was becoming, you should be happy there is a new fad. At least people still remember the FanWork forums still exist.

The recoloring is nicely done, I especially like that Chikorita. Not that I know what it looked like before, but I just like Chikorita in general, and it looks nice all colorful and such. Yep.

Yellow had shading. And pretty darn good shading for the fact that it only had two colors and then black and white.

I'm really sorry for double posting, but otherwise no one will know of this. In case you miss Meowth's page with all the sprites, I found out the address a while ago. It's http://user.yagb.de/meowth346/index.php?menu=refurbish&data=sozai/refurbish/pokemon.php&x=1&y=50. Thanks to Meowth's php, it still works and even gets updated with new layouts, not that that matters. The x and y are the first and last pokémon on the list, so this is pokémon 1 - 50. Just change the x and y for the rest. I hope this doesn't count as advertising... I'm just giving people a normally unaccessable page that makes life a lot easier...

they dont even look like RBYGSC sprites. Nice job.

BTW, whats the major difference between GSC and RS colors? The GSC sprites looks good as they were IMO.

The difference is that in a G/S/C or R/B/Y sprite, there are four colors, of which one is black and one is white. That means you're stuck with two actual colors (or shades in R/B/Y's case). In Ruby and Sapphire, you have... um, I think 16, colors, black and white included. That's the difference. And that's a pretty big difference.:yes:

Meowth is still doing his Sprite Recolouring Project, and some of my works are up there. You can still send him more sprites through AIM.

Anyways, here's an example of my sprites, this one's an Ivysaur from Silver.
