What movesets do you use for Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise? Plus, what about Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo and Mew?

Venusaur - Sleeppowder, swords dance, bodyslam, razorleaf
Blastoise - surf, earthquake, icebeam, bodyslam/stoss
Charizard- swords dance, earthquake, slash, fireblast
Mewtwo - amnesia, thunderbolt, icebeam, rest
Articuno - Blizzard, Bubblebeam, Reflect, Double-Edge
ZApdos - Thunderbolt, Thunderwave, Drillpeck, Reflect/rest
Moltres - Fireblast, Double-Edge, Substitute, Hyperbeam
Mew - Swords dance, earthquake, rockslide, softboiled, with the option of explosion over softboiled or eq/rs

Cool, MetalScyther posted some already so I don't have to work from scratch.

PX made another cool Venusaur set if you've got enough time and want to concentrate on Special:

Double-Edge, Mega Drain, Growth, Sleep Powder

For Blastoise, since it doesn't have STAB and its Special is lower than Starmie's, it's better to have Blizzard over Ice Beam. Even Starmie's Ice Beam doesn't do enough damage.

On Charizard, remember that Slash's Critical Hit in RBY ignores the Swords Dance boost, so only Earthquake works off the Attack ups. Slash can cut through Reflects and Barriers, though. Personally, on my Charizard, I prefer Body Slam to use to shoot at those Starmies who switch in to smack him... It'd be fun if they get paralyzed, you know?

Mewtwo has lots of options, the best of which revolve around Amnesia, recovery, and special type offensives...

For Articuno, realize that Blizzard does more damage than Bubblebeam to a Rhydon.

Zapdos also has the option of Light Screen, but Reflect or Rest are probably preferable, especially if you want to annoy the heck out of any Tauros you may be having problems with. Zapdos kills Tauros.

If you're going to use the set MS suggested for Moltres (basically the only option for Moltres; its move compatability SUCKS), just be careful about self KOing Moltres by draining all its HP with Substitute and Double-Edge.

I prefer Swords Dance, Earthquake, Softboiled, Double-Edge on Mew. Explosion may be handy at times when recovering is useless, but I'd much rather have something that can last longer.

For Blastoise, since it doesn't have STAB and its Special is lower than Starmie's, it's better to have Blizzard over Ice Beam. Even Starmie's Ice Beam doesn't do enough damage.

I see your point, but I just generally prefer icebeam over blizzard because of the misses in clutch situations, the fact that it is PP wasted to easily, and the fact that icebeam has more PP for more freeze chances(although blastoise doesn't live long enough to use 16 icebeams, so I see your point).

For Articuno, realize that Blizzard does more damage than Bubblebeam to a Rhydon.

I know, but articuno is strong, but has no options really. Bubblebeam could atleast be used on ground fire types or something. Unless one wants a reflect/rest articuno, I'm not seeing too many more options ;.;

Slash is so that it can actually do something before swords dancing up to something that is resistant to fire(Slash is loads more powerful then bodyslam). The only pokemon that I can think of that is used in standard play that can't take swords danced earthquakes is exeggutor, which is easily countered by fireblast. Bodyslam is a fine choice, but I have always used slash.

As for the post above this moveset's...a few things: 0_0

Just for interest's sake, there is no pokemon in r/b that takes more damage from bubblebeam than it does from icebeam..

Also, agility or substitute could be used..

Have a nice day.

Then I am an idiot. Not even a magmar(o_O) or something takes more damage from bubblebeam then icebeam? I don't know this offhand, but I'm pretty sure bb would be more effective cuz its 2X effective, bring it to 80BP, and icebeam is 1/2X effective, making its BP 1/2(95)BP.

*doesn't know what 1/2 times 95 is*

Um, MS, playing too much GSC. ^_^; Ice is 1x effective against Fire in RBY.

Hey, while we're on the moveset topic, can somebody give me a good Tauros moveset?

Long time since i've posted any movesets. ^^;

Tauros - Body Slam~Blizzard~Earthquake~Hyper Beam/Substitute/filler

Blizzard cause it gets Aerodactly(you never know...), grass types, other things. Hyper Beam because it's funny when something could've barely survived 2 Body Slams, but not 1 Hyper Beam. :D

For some reason, i'm sure there's better, since I haven't played RBY in 2 years. =x I wont mention the Fissure + Horn Drill set. Even Mewtwo is more exciting. :yes:

Venusaur - MS had same idea as me. That set is "perfect" imo.
Blastoise - I forgot what I use to use. :<
Charizard- You're gonna think i'm stalking MS... =o
Mewtwo - Substitute~Body Slam/T-bolt/Amnesia~Recover~Ice Beam/Psychic
Articuno - Mimic/Bubblebeam~Substitute~Ice Beam~Double Edge
Zapdos - Hrhr ;p
Moltres - Again, I sucketh ;-;
Mew - Ok, i'm stalking MetalScyther. =X

Yeah, I should revise my RBY sets. I stink. :D
