Well.. I'm home sick and bored, and since I need something to do, I thought maybe I'd pass the time by battling somebody.

2-on-2.. you choose arena and first Pokemon, and I'll attack first.

I'll accept.

Simple Grass arena.

Go, Snorlax. (Male, No Sig).

I choose Blackout, my male Electabuzz.

Blackout: Electa-buzz!

Snorlax is a dangerous opponent, Blackout, so be on your guard and keep your distance. Create a Substitute to hold Snorlax off at least until we take intiative, then launch a Zap Cannon at him. The loss of muscle control that will likely follow will certainly prove useful, and Snorlax is too large and slow of a target to have much luck to have much luck dodging even the slowest and most unreliable of attacks. Finish the round by targeting some important organ or something with a Psychic attack, or replenishing your defenses with Double Team if Snorlax has already made short work of your decoy.

If the substitute is still there, Rollout over it again. If not, Body Slam the original.

Oh... Poor, sadly unnamed Snorlax. Wasn't your old one called Kabigon? I'm going to use that nickname until(or if) you choose to find another one.

Pre-Battle:

A cool breeze swishes by, and the soft, green grass sways gently with the wind. As it is, the sweet-smelling meadow would be perfectly tranquil but for one thing. Blackout cringes at the sight of the towering sloth before him. Even he, Blackout, impressive though he may seem with his shocking yellow coat and dark stripes, muscles showing especially at his powerful crushing fists, cannot possibly be unafraid of the huge thousand pound behemoth that he faces. He must exercise extreme caution...

Kabigon: 100%, fatigue(0%)
Blackout: 100%, fatigue(0%)

Round 1

For the untrained observer, both combatants seem to do nothing but glare at each other, fidget, or pace back and forth, waiting for something that will not come... With more experience, though, it is evident that these two seemingly anxious pokémon are not really fully alive at all; they are merely excellent, lifelike actors, slaves of their original creators who, by this time, have cleverly hidden themselves far away from their servant decoys. Neither realizes that his opponent has also planted this misconception into his mind; each thinks that he has fooled the other, and not that he has also been fooled himself.

Hissing electricity sparks in the hands of the Electabuzz to form a rotating greenish-yellow orb. He bids it silently do its duty before his opponent notices... Indeed, Blackout seems to be in luck. The Snorlax is turned the other way, and slowly though the energy orb moves, it's crept too close for Kabigon to dodge... The electricity engulfs its target, forcing the victim's muscles to lock up severely. The Snorlax twitches... Meanwhile, a gigantic rolling ball crushes Blackout's body double under its weight. It won't hold for long...

Wondering from whence the rolling boulder suddenly came, Blackout pauses for a moment... then shakes his head and shrugs. He'll figure it out later. With a psionic grip, the Electabuzz seizes his opponent firmly and begins to squeeze... until, very suddenly, his victim explodes. Blackout cries out in horror... until he sees his own faux image brutally destroyed by the rolling boulder, which uncurls to reveal itself as Kabigon. Deceived by the very same...

Kabigon: 74%, fatigue(14%)
Blackout: 64%, fatigue(13%)

Thanks for reffing, Char. Hopefully you can put up with me ^^;

Snorlax, he's most certainly going to try to paralyze you again, so why not another Substitute? Use a Rock Slide, which should throw him off... Afterwards, an Earthquake..

Not bad, Blackout.. let's try to pull into the lead this round. Leap into the air and break that body double by coming down hard with a Cross Chop attack. A quick Reflect shield should stop those rocks dead in their tracks.. that is, if Snorlax can find any rocks bigger than a pebble (if he finds any at all) in this grassy field. If not, nail him in the gut with your Dynamicpunch! Finally, Counter that Earthquake.. or drop a Thunder on him if the attack never comes.

Me not being able to put up with you? What makes you believe so? If you're thinking about our GLT R2 match, I was only stressed because I chose Scyther and Misdreavus against your Snorlax and Gengar instead of my stronger, more experienced Umbreon and Lapras, who had way more move choices than the other two. They still did what they had to, but it was a tough struggle. Note to self: Do not try to win with style if you're going to have difficulty scraping up the win. Have fun doing that when the stakes are not high, but do not stake your Gym Leader and later Elite status upon it. *sweatdrops*

Kabigon: 74%, fatigue(14%)
Blackout: 64%, fatigue(13%)

Round 2

So far, Blackout has avoided major injury. He tries to slow his accelerated breathing, but he can't hide the fact that he's still very much nervous. If it was he who got trapped under that nasty Snorlax's weight rather than his body double, he simply could not imagine the terrifying agony that he would have experienced... Meanwhile, unknown to the stressed Electabuzz, Kabigon has forged another sturdy image of himself, hoping that it will provide him with some protection. No sooner does he do this, though, than must he watch all his efforts go to waste... Kabigon's copy shatters with a single devastating blow from Blackout's powerful fists.

Grassy fields do not typically contain rocks just lying around... bit Kabigon will make do. He rips out chunks of earth and compresses them, then smirks. Pretty good for makeshift rocks on such short notice. When Blackout comes charging at Kabigon, fists burning with fighting fury, the Snorlax flings his ammunition panickedly at his aggressor. Though the hardened dirt clumps sting, the Electabuzz does not stop... and before his victim gets the time to react, he pounds his fists directly into Kabigon's head!

The throbbing pain and dizziness does not even begin to come close to describing the utter chaos present in Kabigon's mind... Somehow, through the pandemonium, his trainer's shouts make some kind of sense... and the Snorlax knows enough to tear the earth apart with violent earth tremors, though significantly less severe than he would have been fully capable of. Suddenly, though, all form of order is broken... He feels the redirected wrath of his assault, can barely understand why... Knows only that he wants all this to be over...

Kabigon: 11%, miserable, mind in chaos, fatigue(24%)
Blackout: 38%, battered, fatigue(29%)

Damage Caps were not activated during that round because of the usage of Counter... Snorlax's weakness to Fighting moves, as well as Electabuzz's possession of two of the strongest damaging ones really did nasty things to Snorlax this round.

Go, Blackout! Strike now and finish it with Royal Dragon!

Royal Dragon (combo)
Quick Attack + Rolling Kick

DRWS: For those of you who don't know (which is probably none of you, because this is the combo's debut), when Blitz performs Royal Dragon, he channels his supernatural Quick Attack speed into a deftly executed Rolling Kick, catching his opponents off guard before they can react.

In the off-chance that Kabigon survives the blow, finish him off with a quick surge of electricity.

I don't know how quick you think an Electabuzz is, but I'll take the speed of gravity over the speed of your Erebuu.

Snorlax, fall on it with a Body Slam! Even with the attack hitting you, nothing should stop you from falling on it. If you have anything left, Roll around on it, driving your weight on it. If not, just stay on him, not like you'd have a choice ^^;

Since Char04621 is out at some obscure ski resort up in Utah, I'll be your sub-ref for today.

Round Three:
Blackout the Electabuzz (38%, fatigued[29%]) vs. Kabigon the Snorlax (11%, confused, fatigued[24%])

In an elegant acrobatic feat sure to make any trainer proud, Blackout somersaults into the air, landing as a rapidly rolling yellow blur headed toward the lumbering blob that is Kabigon... One very fast kick in the shin later, Kabigon blacks out, overwhelmed by the stabbing pain in his leg. Kabigon topples forward... fortunately for Blackout, he's only pinned down by a meaty Snorlax leg, which thankfully doesn't weigh as much as a whole Snorlax. He breathes laboriously until he is freed by the beam of Kabigon's Pokéball.

Kabigon has fallen! Who will The Mozz choose next to replace him?

End of Round Three Status:
Blackout the Electabuzz: 27%, fatigued[49%]
Kabigon the Snorlax: fainted

Itte, Muu-chan!

Female Misdreavus, No Signature Move

Start out with a Screech to throw it off balance. While it's woozy, quickly hit it with a Psychic, slamming it good! Finish the round, and Electabuzz, with another Psychic, making sure you slam the lug hard against the ground!

Stand firm, Blackout! If that banshee wants to have a screaming match, so be it.. Screech right back at her! Blind her with a dazzling Flash of light to buy you a little time and raise a few Double Team clones to hold off her psychic assault. We'll have to be careful with this one.

Round 4

A cackling banshee pops out of her pokéball, only to be greeted with a highly-agonizing shriek from her wailing opponent, which she matches... The arena trembles with the shrill cries, and each wants desperately to hide and drown out the other's voice... but neither dares to stop. The glittering ruby-red beads on Muu's necklace shiver with the noise... Then, all of a sudden, everything stops. Breath only lasts so long... Blackout and Muu each heave a separate sigh of relief: The horrific shrieking match is over.

Now a new threat arises, and Blackout must come up with something quick... or face the Misdreavus's psionic wrath. Fortunately for him, he does... Even as he begins to catch his breath again, the Electabuzz's coat gleams white... and then a brilliant burst of light breaks loose with blinding radiance! Muu slams her eyes shut and wails - half from pain, and half from disappointment; The light stings, and she cannot pay Blackout back for the foul play. She can't grab what she can't see!

When the blinding glare fades, Muu can open her eyes once more... But at first, she thinks that she is hallucinating. She must be! Only a dizzy pokémon sees her opponent split into three... Yet, the sight does not waver, no matter how long Muu waits. She must accept the fact that by some devious trick of mind, Blackout has three images, not one... And of those, two are illusory. But which? Muu tries to guess, for that is all she can do. For an instant, she thinks she's got the right one... But as she seizes it and tries to squeeze, the mirror image fades, only a wisp of smoke in the air.

Blackout: 27%, one mirror image, fatigue(66%)
Muu: 100%, dazed, fatigue(11%)

Misdreavus has many talents, but "capable physical attacker" simply isn't in its job description. Blackout, force it to fall back on pathetic physical assaults by Swaggering it into irrationality, then splatter it with a Toxic! If you still have a free action at the end of the round, deploy a small Substitute for defense.

Ouch. Let's get you swaggering the whole round then.

Misdreavus, close your eyes. There are still two images left, so just spend this round sending three swifts at the two clones. Split the speed stars like a machine gun, sending half to one, and half to the other each time ^_^;

Since your eyes will remain closed the whole time, Electabuzz will spend the whole round dancing like a fool, if he lasts that long..

Charizard04621

Sorry to disappoint you, Mozz, but Misdreavus has ears... Besides, you've ordered four actions: Close Eyes, Swift x3. Not that it matters now, anyway. Berserkervus... To tell the truth, I haven't seen one before. The thing about Berserkervus is that, if it decides to vent out its Frustration, it stays in its solid, unphased state to attack...

Blackout: 27%, one mirror image, fatigue(66%)
Muu: 100%, dazed, fatigue(11%)

Round 5

In a series of increasingly rude physical gestures, Blackout continually taunts his opponent... And though, fortunately for her, she does not see, he follows up with terribly aggravating verbal insults that will drive even the calmest Lapras mad. Muu falls into a fit of fury and irrationality. Grr... Blackout will pay. Oh, yes he will.

Ignoring her trainer's orders, Muu rushes at the taunting Electabuzz, venting out her anger upon him... Though in this frenzied state of hurried rashness she is at her full physical potential, Blackout does not feel great pain. A mere Misdreavus will not bother him. In fact, she is amusing. Holding back a fit of laughter, the Electabuzz takes advantage of his opponent's closeness, releasing into her a venom so vile that all shiver when they hear its mention... The burning sensation that Muu feels only greatens her anger.

The distraction proves enough for Blackout to shuffle between him and his extra mirror image... And now that she notices there is more than one Electabuzz, Muu cannot tell which is which. In the end, despite her trainer's worried shouts, she descends upon her chosen victim... But as she strikes, it fades away, gone forever. Now Blackout, unnoticed, hides away, safely behind a deadly misperception that will stay in his opponent's mind until she destroys his feeble body double.

Round 6

Again disregarding her trainer's orders, Muu remains in solid form and crushes the Electabuzz in her wrath... But as she pulls back in horror from the broken bits below her, she realizes something: Blackout has tricked her with an accursed body double! Even as she realizes this, Muu feels Blackout's arms tighten around her, and she struggles uselessly to get out of his strong grip. But then, when she feels herself taken against her will fifty feet into the air, reason returns to her for a fleeting moment, and she seizes it... Blackout slips, losing his hold over the phased Misdreavus, and he knows that everything has gone wrong... horribly wrong... He hears his trainer's cry below, and feels himself being pulled back down into the safety of his poké ball, hidden at last from the multicolored beam of energy that has up to this point been chasing him... Muu shakes her head, disappointed, but now understanding fills her once more, and she drops out of her frenzy. Still, the return of reason does not save her from the constant burning venom...

Round 7

There is no end to seemingly nonsensical remarks. Muu sees the Haunter far below her perfectly well enough; he doesn't look like a fake to her. Of course, from such a high way up, it's not easy to see anything very clearly. Deciding that her best course of action is to descend, Muu hastens downward, conserving her offensive energy for later. It won't be of any use to her if she tries to aim from so far away.

By the time Muu gets down, though, she is late; and she pants heavily as a result of her great hurry. Gaxx seeks to twist his opponent's perception of reality and wreak havoc unto her mind... Unfortunately, Muu decides to do the same thing. Both expanding light beams ignore each other, passing through to their intended targets; and the phantom and banshee each waver, dazed senseless. What Muu doesn't know is that the Haunter before her is a mere decoy; the real Gaxx has caught her, hidden from an angle... but with her warped sense of reality, Muu does not make this distinction.

Gaxx's own ball of searing darkness finds its way to Muu... In screaming retaliation, furious that she did not prevent what pain she could have, the Misdreavus engulfs her opponent in an agonizing ray of crystalline, multicolored energy that shreds through the image's body like a knife through flesh... Somehow, Muu understands that the shattered pieces possess some significance, though she can't really think what. Her attention is diverted to the stabbing pain in her own body; for, bewildered though she is, she can feel it increase in intensity as time goes by.

Round 8

For a moment, Muu, straining, manages to force herself to focus. And in that moment, she does not pay attention to Gaxx as he silently slinks away, leaving a perfect body double in his place. No; the Misdreavus only has enough to concentrate on herself. As she closes her eyes and sighs, her wavering body slowly draws out into three. Two are mirror images, and one is real. Her opponent does not seem to care. He knows that the banshee he faces will succumb to false illusion soon enough...

Suddenly, Muu lets out a cry of alarm. The Haunter she sees before her abruptly bursts into flame! Meanwhile, some (Gengar?) appears in front of her, jeering. Did her opponent just evolve into a Gengar? Not hesitating another moment, she attempts to drain the rock before her of its energy. She thinks she succeeds, too. Then a great wave of exhaustion rushes over her, and her face grows pallid like a corpse's...

But as Gaxx waits for Muu to try attacking the "Gengar" again, the Misdreavus and her two mirror images fly into a panic, darting back and forth and winding around each other so quickly that Gaxx loses track of the real one! The cause for Muu's alarm is simply this: a huge Tyranitar emerged next to the Gengar; then, without explanation, both images flickered and combined into one! Annoyed at Muu's odd behavior, Gaxx attempts to drain strength out of her again... but the mirror image fades into a wisp of smoke. Meanwhile, the panicky Misdreavus and her remaining copy calm down, writhing in agony as venom courses through veins, burning...

Round 9

While Gaxx loses precious seconds trying to draw Muu's attention away from his body double and towards his own seductive gaze, the weary banshee has already closed her eyes, free for the moment of chaotic illusions, and now relaxes. She ceases to feel her past horrors and pains; now her body is purged from terrible wounds, and she can finally be left in peace. Gaxx shrieks in total frustration. If only his opponent’s attention was not automatically drawn to his body double, he would have had her in his grasp!

Then Muu begins to do something that, in Gaxx’s experience, is very alarming. By the way the sleeping Misdreavus moves, Gaxx can see that she seeks revenge; her once closed eyes are wide open with malice, glazed in an ominous faraway look that’ll send shivers down the spines of even the bravest. Gaxx tries to get out of the way, but it’s no use; the sleeping banshee follows him everywhere in her trance, and she refuses to cease the pursuit until she’s linked her immediate fate to his. Finally the Haunter gives, allowing his opponent to bind herself to him…

While asleep, a pokémon cannot control its actions, nor can it choose who should feel its wrath. Gaxx resents this; for, so far, Muu seems to be naturally drawn towards him in her sleep. He knows it is just a coincidence, but he cannot help but feel irritated that the Misdreavus should follow him around everywhere. He turns out all right, though; Muu makes an attempt to plow through him headfirst, but he shifts to ethereal form, allowing her to fly right through him.

And though Muu does not awaken, she lets out a sigh of weary exhaustion, and her body shudders; whatever color was left in her face before is now gone. Gaxx shivers when the suffering banshee opens her sorrowful, bloodshot eyes, still in the deep, ensnaring trance of sleep. But whatever Muu planned is only done halfheartedly; and moving for her becomes extremely difficult.
