Well, it's semi-random, but I choose the type first, and make sure there are none of that species already in the list or just been adopted. I also make some pokemon much rarer than others, like prehistoric and evolved pokemon. As for the genders, I try to keep them balanced.

I don't like Magby much, but they show up often because there are few fire pokemon. You'll see Magby, Slugma, Ponyta, Houndour, Vulpix, Growlithe, Charmander, Cyndaquil, Torchic, Numel and Torkoal a lot here.

Its bred-on move shall be Extrasensory (if Extrasensory isn't compatible then just make it Psychic).
