View Full Version : Shall we finish this, PJBW? (DRWS has kindly offered to ref ^-^)

We've battled multiple times, but it always ended in DQ or (when we actually do finish) a tie. Hopefully this time something will get settled, yes?

6 on 6 (a pity if this ends up as a tie -_-)
DQ: 1 week (a pity if this ends up like this too -_-)
I always seem rather annoying, sending out my pokemon first... you send out first this time
I'll make the first strike
Stage: PJBW's Battle Simulation Dome. Basically, its a stage much like any other, only this: Each player is allowed to replace one of his attacks with "Stage Change" in order to change the stage if deemed necessary; The stage is changed to anything of the ref's preference, assuming that the ref doesn't make it too complicated or hard on one or both of us. The stage doesn't need to be elaborately explained, and it is preferred by both of us that the least amount of obstacles be put in between our battle. (IE Flying Giant Dragons and Skeletal hands coming out of the ground, much to the creativity of Cyrus -_-). Our starting point has been chosen as a simulation of the Forbidden City.
Forbidden City in Beijing, China. A beautifully structured palace with striking carved lions and ornately designed (and very cultured enthused) structures. Luckily, this is only a simulation so PJBW can command his mass destructing pokemon to do as they please; besides, we can always change the stage.
Since we don't want to waste any time, the moves Rest, Attract, and Substitute are banned from this battle. There won't be a great deal of stalling for this battle.

*bows* You may play the first note, Jon.

EDIT: Oops and one more thing: Stage Change will be limited to 3 uses per player. Don't want the ref to go crazy by changing stages within every round now do we?

I play the first note eh? How about an E? *Plays an E on his guitar.* Eh-heh...sorry, bad joke, ne?

Anyway...*Spins a Poké Ball on his finger before flicking it up and on to the floor. It bursts open to reveal a very old looking Cubone.* Alright Maro (M.Cubone), lets get this battle started!

eeer... guitar?

Alrighty then let's see what we can do. Come Webster, I think you would be appropriate for this battle!

Let's see.. his Maro won't be able to climb high heights... Webster! String Shot yourself onto one of the rooftops of the palaces, then let fire a Sludge Bomb followed by string of Poison Stings! If he tries to Earthquake you and the building begins to crumble, String Shot yourself onto a new building!

String Shot (onto one of the buildings), Sludge Bomb, Poison Sting
Sub: If building collapses, use String shot to go onto new building

Alrighty, Maro, use Bonemerang to try and knock Webster off the wall. If you get him down on to the ground, rush over to him and smash him with Bone Club. If not, use Bonemerang again. And I'll finish with a Blizzard!

As the guards struggle to chain the rogue dragons still running loose and crush the skeletal hands grabbing at their heels, the two combatting trainers turn to face each other and ritually bow as a show of mutual respect.

Again.

Round One:
EngiMatikul's Webster the Ariados vs. Professor Jb Wolf's Maro the Cubone
Without so much as blinking an eye, Webster puts on an acrobatic display that would make any trainer proud: taking a running leap into the air, he catches hold of one of the ornately carved lions with a string of spidery liquid silk and starts swinging round and round it, gaining speed as he gets closer and closer... Maro hurls a spinning bone at Webster in an attempt to mess up his act, but the string was built for that sort of stress. Webster manages to clamber onto the lion's head with no further injury.

Maro hurls his trusty club at Webster once again, finally managing to whack him both times as it passes by and returns neatly in Maro's paw... Webster responds in kind with a mass of foul, vile sludge, but Maro doesn't really seem to care. His tough, leathery skin is putting up nicely.

Webster tries again with a hail of hair-thin, venom-tipped needles, but they get torn up in Maro's own chilling hailstorm. The lion's head soaks up much of the assault, though Webster is shivering slightly, showing a wee bit of hypothermia... The heat of battle will warm him up soon. Well, hopefully.

End of Round One Status:
Webster the Ariados: 76%, perched on top of lion statue, chilled
Maro the Cubone: 90%, slightly fatigued

Prof. Jb Wolf
30th June 2003, 01:15 PM
Webster seems ta need a little warmth, so why don't we give to'im in the form of a Flamethrower. He'll probably jump, so use Bonemerang to try and interrupt it and then finish with an Ice Beam to freeze him in place.

EngiMatikul
30th June 2003, 01:18 PM
Indeed, I think I will Jump.

Let's try a little trick here, Webster! Using Agility, avoid his flamethrowerw and start moving from place to place and then when he fires a Bonemerang at you, quickly make a Spider Web to catch his Bone! That should distract him a bit.

Then whether your plan works or not, use Double Team!

Agility (from place to place), Spider Web (to catch the Bone), Double Team

Round Two:
Webster the Ariados (76%, perched on top of lion statue, chilled) vs Maro the Cubone (90%, slightly fatigued)

Chilled as he is, Webster continues with his acrobatic feats... this time, he leaps off the lion's head with the help of psionic boosting, narrowly avoiding getting hosed by a stream of Greek fire from Maro's mouth.

Maro hurls his bone in pursuit of Webster, but the spider merely weaves an intricate web in a surprisingly short space of time... the web isn't complete enough to block the first blow, but as the bone spins around for a second whack, it merely bounces off the web and returns to its owner's paw.

Irked, Maro freezes the center of the protective web... it's rigid and a great deal less durable now, and probably won't stand a solid smash. Still, it remains to shield Webster and his four doubles.

End of Round Two Status:
Webster the Ariados: 70%, behind frozen protective web, psionically boosted speed, four images remaining, slightly fatigued
Maro the Cubone: 90%, slightly more fatigued

EngiMatikul
30th June 2003, 11:33 PM
Hmm... I thought webs were supposed to be Sticky... Ok what can I do with an Ice-Solid spider web...

Alright, let's try this! Use Sunny Day to bring the sun out! By about this time, Maro should have broken down the web. Push him back with a Psychic attack, then try for a Solarbeam attack!

Sunny Day, Psychic, Solarbeam... rather simple, actually.

Prof. Jb Wolf
30th June 2003, 11:42 PM
Hmmm...dats a tough comb to defeat....Alright then, Maro, right after he uses Sunny Day, use a Fire Blast to try and blast right through the Ice-Web shield and smash into Webster himself. Even if doesn't work, uses Focus Energy to garnder concentration enough to fight the Psychic attack. Finish with one last Bonemerang!

Round Three:
Webster the Ariados (70%, behind frozen web, psionic blah, blah, blah) vs. Maro the Cubone (90%, slightly more fatigued)

The clouds part to make way for the sun, and the ambient moisture that would normally hinder the fiery kanji Maro blasts at the web is gone... The web is consumed in a matter of seconds, and Webster himself and one of his images takes the full brunt of the attack. Not good...

Webster retaliates by slamming Maro into his former lion statue perch with psionic force, while the Cubone struggles to channel his concentration...

Another bone crushes two spider images into dust as Webster blasts Maro with brilliant green solar plasma.

End of Round Three Status:
Webster the Ariados: 49%, one image remaining, psionically boosted speed wearing off, slightly more fatigued
Maro the Cubone: 58%, channeled focus, mildly fatigued
Arena effects: Clear Skies active for two more actions

Prof. Jb Wolf
1st July 2003, 09:17 PM
Lets make use of that concentration Maro, Bone Rush him! Then, right after, unleash a Flamethrower upon them to visit flaming damnation upon them! Finish with another Bone Club for good measure!

EngiMatikul
2nd July 2003, 12:24 AM
If I were a pokemon right now, my Frustration attack will kill all.

But I'm not. Webster, for the sake of me and your name, let's get this show on the road. First of all, startle the Cubone with a Scary Face. With two times the faces, it should give it quite a jump start. Then while he's intimidated, quickly fire a Sludge Bomb before he fires his Flamethrower, so that the Sludge Bomb will be closer to him when it explodes than to you. Hopefully, if the plan works.
Then go ahead and Solarbeam again. About the time where he's charging at you ready to club you would be nice.

Round Four:
Webster the Ariados (49%, one image remaining, psionically boosted speed wearing off, slightly more fatigued) vs. Maro the Cubone (58%, channeled focus, mildly fatigued)
Arena effects: Clear Skies active for two more actions

Webster tries to intimidate Maro with a pose he normally reserves for frightening trick-or-treaters out of taking his candy on Halloween, but Maro doesn't seem so frightened - he hesitates only slightly before rushing forward and smacking Webster and his last image. Looks like that extra focus helped...

With Maro in melee range, it's kinda difficult for the two combatants to aim past each others' attacks... flame and volatile sludge hit each other, igniting the sludge into an explosion that rocks the surrounding buildings and blasts Maro and Webster apart.

Maro runs up for another whack, while Webster frantically absorbs sunlight for another solar plasma blast... with Maro back in melee range, Webster has no trouble striking home.

End of Round Four Status:
Webster the Ariados: 15%, mildly fatigued
Maro the Cubone: 24%, mildly fatigued

2nd July 2003, 03:24 PM
Alright Webster let's show him that we're not going down so easily! Use your Agility to boost up your speed again, and while you're running around, make quick strikes with your Fury Swipes but alas, while you do so be sure to suck up whatever comes out of the little creature with your Giga Drain! So essentially, try a Agility+Fury Swipes+Giga Drain combo throughout this whole round.

Prof. Jb Wolf
2nd July 2003, 09:36 PM
Ok Maro, I need you to hold out for this. Use Endure to take his strikes and keep yourself from getting hurt too bad. When he's done with the first pass, kick up a Sandstorm to obscure his view and send him away from you. Mix that Sandstorm with another Blizzard!

Round Five:
Webster the Ariados (15%, mildly fatigued) vs. Maro the Cubone (24%, mildly fatigued)

With terrifying speed, Webster sinks spider fangs deep into Maro, draining his strength while swiping him with unnatural speed... Maro sits back, trying to stand the pain the best he can.

Webster zips off again as Maro sends winds tearing through the area... there isn't much loose material to kick up, so the storm has to be confined to a smaller area, but it stings and bites at Webster nevertheless.

Maro sends ice crystals spinning toward Webster on a blast of wind, but even with his heightened speed, he can't see the blizzard heading for him in time to dodge... the chill is too much for him, and he tumbles and bowls over, splayed flat on his back.

Webster has fainted! EngiMatikul must select a new Pokémon to replace him!

End of Round Five Status:
Webster the Ariados: fainted
Maro the Cubone: 2%, mildly heavily fatigued
Arena effects: Sandstorm active for three more actions

Nice Work, nice work. Return Webster!

Well, Let's bring on the game then, yes? Come out Totem (M. Natu)!! Let's see what PJBW has in store for us.

3rd July 2003, 01:24 PM
A battle to the bitter end then Maro? Lets try and at least drop Totem's health as much as we can! Blizzard x 3!

EngiMatikul
3rd July 2003, 01:40 PM
Let's get this over with as soon as possible Totem with as little damage and energy use as possible, and move on to our next foe! He should already be quite tired out, and Blizzard isn't an easy attack to execute, so just finish him off with one swift Quick Attack... That should about finish him off before he can get in his Blizzard.

But in case it doesn't, follow up with a round of stars! Swift x2!

Round Six:
EngiMatikul's Totem the Natu vs. Maro the Cubone (2%, mildly heavily fatigued)
Arena effects: Sandstorm active for three more actions

Maro prepares for his last stand before he falls... raising his glowing bone-sceptre, he churns water vapor past rushes of air, chilling it beyond freezing...

Then the bird rushes in and pecks him.

Maro has fainted! J.B. Wolf must select a new combatant to replace him!

End of Round Six Status:
Totem the Natu: 97%
Maro the Cubone: fainted
Arena effects: Sandstorm active for two more actions

*Sighs and smiles slightly before returning Maro to his Poke ball.* Damn, beaten by a small peck...ah you were exaushted already, I should've returned you earlier.

Now...who shall go next? *Small blue fires begin to form near Prof's feet. As the fales slowly die out, a slender obviously female Ninetales growls from her position.* Ah, Kitsune would be a good choice. (Kitsune F. Ninetales)

Alright Totem, lets show this foxy lady the TRUE meaning of Bird Brain! We're not going to her push you around like you're nothing, are we now?

First off, evade whatever attack Ninetales has for you and Teleport yourself high into the sky, out of the sandstorm and out of Ninetales's attack range!! Then while you're floating up there, fire a round of Swifts, then when the sandstorm clears, Confuse Ray!

Teleport (into the air), Swift, Confuse Ray

Round Seven:
Totem the Natu (97%) vs. Professor J.B. Wolf's Kitsune the Ninetales
Arena effects: Sandstorm active for two more actions

Kitsune glows, and the Forbidden Temple shimmers and dissolves... seconds later, the particles of what was once the Forbidden Temple simulation resolves themselves into a massive dark chamber, awash in glowing green halos of light... The metal floor resounds with a soft *clunk* as Kitsune's paws clatter on them, and Totem is forced to adjust his teleportation trajectory at the last second to accomodate for a ceiling. Two hallways extend north and south. Funny-looking machines line the walls... strange beings that look like they might have once been human reside in them, but now they're covered in thick wires and machinery. Glowing eyepatch-like devices cover the right eyes of all the mechanical monstrosities there, and laser-like tracking devices sit near their left eyes. Some of them don't even seem to have real arms - mechanical prosthetic devices are there instead. None of them seem to notice Totem's and Kitsune's presence.

Suddenly, one of them leaves his alcove and heads directly for Kitsune... it still doesn't seem to notice her - it doesn't pursue her as she ducks out of the way - but it gets in Kitsune's line of fire... it drops immediately, a smoking hunk of metal, but this has obviously aroused the attention of all the other machine-people... they exit their own alcoves and face Kitsune, and two probe-like devices extend from their wrists... Totem strikes them all with a barrage of glowing stars, and it seems like he's grabbed their attention as well. Fifteen mechanical beings face them in all.

Kitsune and Totem each direct two waves of mental chaos at the group, and nine of the mechanical beings stumble, looking like they've lost their sense of direction. The remaining six advance on Kitsune with their probe-like devices (they look more like some sort of injection tube now), and some horrible cacophony of thousands of monotonous voices intone telepathically:

"We are the Borg. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile."

Even though drones advance on them, a certain green light catches the interest of the combatants... this one looks different from the others... more heavily guarded. Maybe destroying it will have some effect on the drones? It looks pretty resilient, though a team effort might destroy it...

End of Round Seven Status:
Totem the Natu: 97%, airborne
Kitsune the Ninetales: 100%
Arena effects: The arena has shifted to a chamber inside a Borg cube... Nine Borg drones are confused and disconnected from the Collective for the time being, while the other six drones are advancing on Kitsune and Totem with assimilation tubes extended. The other remaining Borg drone has been destroyed.

Prof. Jb Wolf
7th July 2003, 11:53 PM
Ooh dear...Borg...scary people they are...Kit, aim a high powered Flamethrower at that green light. Keep flaming it until it blows then turn back to Totem and use Swift. Follow up with antoher Flamethrower!

EngiMatikul

DRWS has made a deal with us. As long as we don't overuse Stage Change (and the limit is now 3 for each trainer), he wont' send scary thingies after us. Or at least, provide decently easy ways to get rid of it, like blowing up a switch. With that being said.

Totem, fire a Shadow Ball at the green light to blow that thing up! Then, assuming that the borg dudes are gone now, use that Confuse Ray that you tried using on your opponent last turn! Follow up with Haze; can't fire a good Flamethower if the arena's kind of humid, hmm? Machines dont' work very well either... I think -_-;;

Heh. I didn't specifically ask for the new Stage Change limit, but thanks anyway. Plus, now that I'm no longer stressed from having to deal with a horrible sunburn, bad internet connection, etc., etc. you can safely Stage Change without fear of getting a scary arena now.

Anyway, sorry for the loooong delay. I got back from a trip about a week ago, and I've been hooked on Frozen Throne ever since, so to sum it up, I've been, uh, lazy. But I'm here now, aren't I?

Round Eight:
Totem the Natu (97%, airborne) vs. Kitsune the Ninetales (100%)
Arena effects: Borg drones are attacking. If this were a real situation... run for your individuality!

Bolts of negative energy and waves of flames wash over the box with a tetrahedral green light... it explodes, and all fifteen drones drop to the floor with a resounding clunk. They won't be a threat any more, but Borg ships are usually loaded with tens of thousands of drones. Fortunately, it'll be a while before any realize what has just transpired here, and Totem and Kitsune will be able to blast whatever flames and psychic energy they want to at each other in relative safetly for the time being before moving on.

Now that the mechanical monstrosities are disabled, nothing stands in the way of Totem's flashing light laced with insanity. Not even the energy stars tearing at his feathery body.

Kitsune manages to maintain her focus - well, long enough for her to jet burning liquid at Totem, anyway, but it's not quite as effective as she hoped... somewhat thick fog billows out from Totem, filling the air. It's still hot, however, and Totem's feathers look a little singed.

End of Round Eight Status:
Totem the Natu: 79%
Kitsune the Ninetales: 100%, confused, slightly fatigued
Arena effects: The drones are deactivated, and Kitsune and Totem can blast them to pieces if they ever feel they need anger management. Thick fog fills the air.

Alright under the cover of fog and darkness, lets get in our attacks Totem! Use Faint Attack to get close to the fox undetected, then when you're within attacking range, give it a surprise Drill Peck! Finish up with a blast of Psychic!

Oh, and DRWS, if you have time, mind subreffing this battle?
