Screwing around with 8th Ed., I made up this deck:

Blocking has Benefits

Creatures: 24

4 Thieving Magpies
4 Abyssal Specter
4 Raven Guild Master
4 Crafty Pitmage
4 Cephalid Pitmage
2 Cabal Executioner
2 Headhunter

Other Spells: 12

2 Curiosity
4 Mana Leak
4 Dark Banishing
2 Reaping the Graves

Lands: 24

2 Barren Moors
2 Lonely Sandbar

This is a fun little deck that basically whittle at the opponent while giving little perks along the way. What really makes it tick is the Craft Pitmage. ALL of my creatures save the Kraken have 2 or less power, turning the Specters and Magpies unblockable. The Raven Guild Master is also a horror when the Pitmage comes out, forcing the opponent to deal with either the Mage or Master before their deck burns out. The Cephalid isn't as good as his Crafty sister, but it's something else that makes my creatures unblockable.

Curiosity turns everyone in a Magpie, while Mana Leak and Dark Banishing keep threats away from my horde of creatures that don't like being blocked. Reaping gives me back my precious Pitmages, which will might as well carry big "Kick Me" signs on them.

I haven't tested out the deck yet, and I'll probably have to use something in place of the Krakens (I have a whopping 1). Nothing dominating, but a fun quirky deck.
