If I remember correctly, I'm pretty sure you have to go to the nearby cave and cast Frost on the puddle of water under the gate to ush the gate upwards. Once you get into Lunpa, use the Cloak Ball spell (Cloak? I forget) to turn invisible and sneak past the guards. You have to do that a lot throughout the fortress in fact. I haven't done that part in awhile, so forgive me if I'm wrong.

And, so this post isn't totally off-topic, I recently added Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut to my library. Still looking for Skies of Arcadia though, and I'm iffy on whether or not I want to pick up Soul Calibur II. I hear nothing but praise for it, but I'm not sure if it's my kind of game.

Hesperia's in the next game... Sorry, nothing you can do about that.

And, I'm assuming Tonic is the Djinni you get inside Lunpa? You have to sneak back into the fortress again after beating Toadonpa and go back to Donpa's room, he'll give it to you as a thank you gift I believe.
