The info is starting to trickle in, here's the latest:

-The set will have a heavy artifact theme.

-A new card type will be introduced. Called "Equipment," it is a sub-type of artifact and is like a colorless creature enchantment. The catch is that you don't lose equipment when the equipped creature is destroyed, and you can also move it around.

-Reprints include Shatter, Annul, Terror, and Icy Maniuplator.

-The set includes a new storyline on a new Plane.

-The set has a futuristic feel to it.

-A card found on a Mirrodin deck box looks exactly like Black Lotus, only made of steel.

-Creature types will still have an impact (though not as much as the Onslaught block). Elves are in the set, and it's likely the other popular races will be in. It's also rumored humans may make their debut...

-Jobs are slowly becoming the status quo. Non-feral creatures will have a job in addition to their race. So, instead of "Cleric" you're more likely to see "Bird Cleric" or "Dwarf Cleric."

-The pie is constantly changing. While Green got Artifact destroying, White gets enchantment killing. Expect a white Tranquilty, only its an Instant (but still costs 2C).

-Red has a spell that lets you draw nine cards with no drawback.

Info explosion!

-One of the new keyworded Abilities is Affinity for Artifacts. It lowers the mana cost of the spell by 1 for each artifact the caster controls. One example of this is a Blue Sorcery in Mirrodin that costs 4U and draws two cards. With four artifacts in play it only costs U!

-Imprint is another new ability. It removes something from the game, but keeps track of it. A blue shapeshifter in Mirrodin can come into play as a 2/4 or it can imprint a creature and be a copy of the imprinted creature.

-Guilded Lotus is an artifact that taps to add 3 mana of any color to your pool. It costs 5 to play.

-Glissa Sunseeker is a legendary elf that taps to destroy an artifact with a casting cost equal to or less than the mana in your mana pool. The mana doesn't have to be spent to destroy the artifact.
