Okay, past experience brought this Poll up so...

1. Has your gender ever been mistaken (ex. you're a girl and got called a boy)?

2. Did you correct the person that made the mistake?

3. Does it happen to you often? If yes, keep going. If no, skip to 6.

4. Do you get annoyed about it?

5. Would you wear a button on your shirt that said your gender so people would get it right?

6. Why did you answer this Poll?

~*~*~*~

1. Yes, just yesterday a new staff member at the school called me a 'sir'. I had just picked up some of the trash around the trashcan because people are slobs and don't pick it up and he says "Thank you, sir." So okay, I dress with plain old T-Shirts and shorts and have short hair but still, I was staring right at him. My friends laughed about it and are making fun of me now.

2. No, I didn't understand him at first and just walked away. After a minute of thinking, I realized that even if he said something dealing in 'girl' terms, it still wouldn't have ended in an 'r'.

3. That was the first time, yesterday. Sure, I looked like a boy in my ID picture last year but that's against the point.

4. -

5. -

6. Because it is necessary for the person who posts the Poll to answer it. And I just wanted to get that out.

EDIT: Maybe I should put in everytime I get called a guy OL...it happens very often nowadays that I changed my named from Angel to Rambunctious.

Online, guess you can say I did, normally they commented after I posted in reference to myself, and then they were like 'oh, so you're really a girl?'

3) No

4)-

5)-

6) I have nothing else to do.

1. Has your gender ever been mistaken (ex. you're a girl and got called a boy)?

Of course. I'm a gay female who's very flirtatious by nature with short boyish hair and has never worn a dress in her life. It happens both in person, on the phone and CONSTANTLY online.

2. Did you correct the person that made the mistake?

Pretty much. Sometimes I don't, though, if the people seem to be particularly homophobic. I'de rather give up my gender than my ability to flirt with girls.

3. Does it happen to you often? If yes, keep going. If no, skip to 6.

Very often.

4. Do you get annoyed about it?

No. Most of the time it's funny.

5. Would you wear a button on your shirt that said your gender so people would get it right?

No. If people want to mistake me for a boy, go ahead. I'm not going to go out of the way to let people know that I'm a woman. This reminds me of a funny quote from Sailor Moon...

Usagi: You never told us you were a girl!
Haruka: You never asked.

6. Why did you answer this Poll?

Because I figured it would be about something like this, and I never miss a chance to talk about my dearest Haruka. ^_^

Only online, and then only once. Mike (TMM) thought I was a girl way back when, because of the name I guess.

2. Did you correct the person that made the mistake?

By the time he started hitting on me, I made very sure he knew I was male.

3. Does it happen to you often? If yes, keep going. If no, skip to 6.

Only that one time. It never happens IRL or on the phone because I look like your average guy, with a deep enough voice that it doesn't get confused on the phone.

4. Do you get annoyed about it?

*skip*

5. Would you wear a button on your shirt that said your gender so people would get it right?

No need to. If I wore a button saying "I'm a guy!" on it, that wouldn't stop people online from mistaking my gender anyways.

6. Why did you answer this Poll?

Why not?
Quick afterthought: Rambunctious Jamirus, I thought you were a guy.

1. Has your gender ever been mistaken (ex. you're a girl and got called a boy)?

Yes, several times. Once in public, once on the net, and on the phone.

2. Did you correct the person that made the mistake?

The guy in public found out the truth right away, maily beacuse my friends started cracking up. On the net, I corrected it immediately. On the phone, not right away.

3. Does it happen to you often? If yes, keep going. If no, skip to 6.

I keep getting called 'ma'am' over the phone! Grrrr!

4. Do you get annoyed about it?

A little. It makes me wonder what is wrong with my voice.

5. Would you wear a button on your shirt that said your gender so people would get it right?

Wouldn't work over the phone. :P

6. Why did you answer this Poll?

Errr... ummm... duh... because I was bored? And to prove that telemarketers really do stink by mixing up the genders of their client? Yeah, that's the ticket: telemarketers stink!

1. Has your gender ever been mistaken (ex. you're a girl and got called a boy)?
a) Yes. In the chat. By a random.
b) And again on the phone by my hard-of-hearing grandparent.
2. Did you correct the person that made the mistake?
a) Yes. They are rotting in a pit of eternal misery and papercuts as we speak. (I stole it from Universal :D)
b) I started cracking up and he had no idea. Eventually I calmed down enough to say I wasn't my brother.
3. Does it happen to you often? If yes, keep going. If no, skip to 6.
No
4. Do you get annoyed about it?

5. Would you wear a button on your shirt that said your gender so people would get it right?

6. Why did you answer this Poll?
Out out randomness... and I'm bored...

4. Do you get annoyed about it?

Sometimes o.0;;; Not really, I don't care too much =o

5. Would you wear a button on your shirt that said your gender so people would get it right?

1. Yeah, it happens all the time on the phone. I've also been called a girl online TWICE by Lady Vulpix... :o

2. Online, every time it's happened. On the phone, I became immune to it, once I found out that telemarketers are idiots who deserve to be mocked, and shouldn't be allowed to have any knowledge of anything. :D

3. It used to happen to me every other phone call, but it doesn't as much anymore.

4. At first I was very annoyed, but later on I just went with it and shook my head afterward.

5. Um, no, not even if that would work on the phone. I'm not a big fan of buttons. XD

6. Because I'm answering every poll I have half an interest in. You know, you really shouldn't ask, because you know you'll get answers like this.
