OK Hydref, it's an electric type, so lets start things off with Safeguard

Follow that up with a double Razor Leaf

ROUND ONE

The two pokemon are released on the popular Indigo Plateau arena. Indigo Plateau is a oft-used arena, and it's a surprise the two trainers managed get such a reservation without resorting to the Mafia for "assistance."

Hydref the Ivysaur starts the match off right by using Safeguard. A quick flash of light around the pokemon is the only sign that the attack had any effect.

Meanwhile, Mareep the...mareep bum rushes the Ivysaur and tries to crush with a move I usally only see when reffing wrestling matchs. Hydref is not amuses, ladies and germs.

Unfortunately for Mareep, Hydref has a significant weight advantage. The iyvsaur heaves Mareep off of him and then fires a barrage of leaves at the little sheep. In response, Mareep rushes him again, putting Hydref in yet another pin.

Unlike the "Woolton", the 5,000 pound Mareep in the famed "Jiggly Brothers Circus" Mareep is still a light-weight, and is once again heaved off of Hydref and again faces another barrage of leaves.

Again.

And then Mareep rushes for another slam.

Again...

Not the most interesting of matches...to say the least.

OK Hydref here's our strategy. You've already proven that you're heavier than Mareep, so I want you to pin it this time with one of you're own Body Slams. Weigh yourself down as much as you can.

Now, while you're pinning the enemy release a cloud of Stun Spore. With all the pressure Mareep is under, it'll be breathing heavily and hopefully inhale the powder without a problem.

Finally, sow your enemy with a Leech Seed to sap it's strength.

ROUND TWO

Mareep is once gain brushed off by Hyref. This time it's turn the tables.

Hyref and Mareep both run at each other, but the larger Hyrdref has no problem slamming the sheep to the ground.

Trying to get free, Hydref begins to shoot seeds at the poor little Mareep, causing all sorts of problems.

Only at the end does Mareep get free after he fires the seeds. She scoots off...panting a little.

Hyrdef just grins. This is going very well for him.

Good job Hydref, you've got Mareep right where you want her. So start off with a Swords Dance to boost you're skills.

Next, I want you to use Sweet Scent to just make Mareep a little less responsive.

Finally charge into her with a Skull Bash

Check a Pokédex. Ivysaur doesn't learn Stun Spore - the only powder moves it gets are Poisonpowder and Sleep Powder.

I had done this reffing after a long day at school, and I was fairly tired. I had thought Bulbasaur used it once in the anime, which is why I didn't bother checking the pokedex.

ROUND THREE

Mareep shakes her head. Can't give up just yet.

She charges Hydref, who suddenly begins spinning rapidly. Poor Mareep rams the spinning ivysaur, which causes her to almost bounce off him in a painful fashion.

At this point Mareep is both angry and a little scared at the same time. But these feelings leave as they are replaced by the most wonderful fragance. A little bit of lilac? Could that be cinnamon? How delightful.

Putting in some extra effort, Mareep has to struggle to concentrate on the match at hand. She tries to charge and tackle Hydref, but his mass advantage doesn't leave him pinned for very long.

Both pokemon back off a little bit. The scent has faded, and competition fills the air. Both pokemon charge at each other, heads both lower.

KA-RACK!

Hydref's head was clearly the stronger of the two. The unnatural barrier it created left the ivysaur with little damage, but Mareep wasn't as fortunate. Her head is bleeding, and it's getting very hard for her to think...

Mareep was never paralyzed. Ivysaur does not learn Stun Spore and I apolgize for the error.

Mareep's confusion looks to be permanent. Running into Hydref's head was not bad, it was the fact that his head was harder than normal that really hurt her.

Hrm. With the Safeguard down, there's a 50% chance of that Thunderwave hitting you Hydref. So lets start off with a Protect to defend against the attack.

Zap Cannon isn't very accurate, so just in use Double Team to confuse Mareep more.

Lastly, lets finished this off with a powerful Solar Beam to blow things home.

Mareep is all dizzy. She tries to remember her command, but ends up falling over. Hydref (who had put up a shield in advance) lowers his defenses upon seeing the state of his opponent.

As Mareep begins to droll and stammer, Hydref creates two decoys to throw her off even further.

Not wanting to give up an advantage, Hydref launches a couple of sharp foliage at Mareep, sealing her fate.

The seeds on her body expel the little energy they managed to get for Hydref.
