i just started playing this game as a gba group got hold of it quite early and dumped it. it's pretty fun so far and i took a few screenshots when i was playing the game. i'm only at the beginning now.

splash bros; this is the first bros. move you get to use in battle

luigi's high jump; used to get to high places, obviously.

level up screen for mario; you get to choose a stat to add a bonus to as well. however, it is random as you choose it much like on a slot machine and it ranges from 1-3.

just a screenshot of mario in mid-attack.

i called this QTE because the splash bros. move is like a quick timer event (i took this from shenmue) as it is similar. you have to press the buttons that appear on screen to perform the move. you can change the difficulty of this to make the move do more damage. the first does it in slow motion, the second without slow motion and the third has no buttons at all (you have to remember the sequence).

mario's spin jump ability to get the bros. across large gaps.

It's a very easy game from what I have played of it so far, though I suppose the dodging techniques require more difficulty in the later game. It reminds me of SMRPG very much, and has a somewhat interesting plot so far, at least.

I've played this game for about 2 hours now, I got up to the water drinking part with Mario and then the game Froze up :\ So I quit it and started playing again today... it feels too easy and the differences between Mario and Luigi Statwise can't be seen apart from Luigi is just weaker. The combo attacks I don't particularly like :\

But its definately a SMRPG and Paper Mario cross breed and I like that Luigi's in it, and it has quite a hillarious beginning before it decends into a quite boring game but I'm sticking with it and trying to get that hammer stuff.

First impressions: Great start which is let down around the "Collect 100 coins" area. If you're going to start an RPG with a ton of oomph, back it up dammit.

The further I get into this game, the more I notice that its plot is like SMRPG.. but it has the added bonus of a ton of humor, so I can't really complain. I actually laughed out loud to one part, and some parts of it are incredibly difficult, and this only seems to become more common the further into the game I go. Altogether I am liking it more than I did initially.

yes, it just gets better as the game goes on and it is pretty funny at some parts in the game. hopefully the game is pretty long.

Well, I just finished the game.. overall time was 12 hours and 57 minutes, just for the core plot and storyline. Altogether I see no reason why this game would deserve less than a 9/10, it is solid, with only a few complaints. The "unavoidable" battles while collecting some things required in your quest can get tedious, but help marginally to have you a higher level for the end. The other thing is that some places in the game contain very obscure solutions, so getting through some of the puzzles can take some thinking. This isn't necessarily bad, but you can spend quite a while stuck on a part trying to figure something out while just being frustrated.

The endgame is hard. You really do have to use timing, logic, thinking skills, and your memory of what you have done the rest of the game to complete it. The battles are hard as well, so by the time you get near what you think is the end, make sure you are well practiced in dodging and your Bros attacks. It is comedic all throughout the game, and the RPG overtone combined with standard jumping puzzles makes a truly excellent mix, resulting in an excellent game overall.

Let me say that this game is awesome. A little easy (game hands you too many healing items) but the BEST Mario storyline barring The Seven Stars.

Very good, I was totally taken surprise by its awesomeness.

I put in a fair few hours today, got my first Beanstar Piece (y) Mario and Luigi are about Lv 29. Its an extremely entertaining game to play, I love the little cutscenes, its so funny sometimes. I found it a great game to play, although Bowser being Posessed... Worst. Twist. Ever.

Luigi become neurotic and being hypnotised to believe he's Mario then Peach tells him he's suddenly more manly is so very entertaining. The landscape is a bit dull, and there aren't many towns, but in Bean Town, that fashion Bean Guy is so gay lol.

So where do you reccomend I go after getting my first beanstar piece? The Forrest? *Shrugs*

The music is okay, about the same most of the time, decent sound effects I guess, but it all is repeated a few thousand times like in most RPGs. I believe the Beanstar order I used was SE, NE, NW, SW.

The amount of cameos in this game are making a very happy person, you have no idea how much I wanted to see Kamek again.

Hell, even Geno found his way into the game.
