The Awnune Chosen
Almost 20 years ago the US government went around to all the top geneticists around the world.. As they met them they would not tell them what they were to work on only that if they agree to come they'd not be aloud to leave, and that any price they wanted it'd be met.
When they got to the USA they found out what they were to work on. The government said they wanted to create a creature that was useful in all environments, air, land and water. That could adjust its colour to camouflage, but cheap to make and fast to grow. Of course they'd need someone to ride it and control its movements so they'd have to alter humans. To be as well suited to changing environments. If possible, make them as tough as possible and quick to heal. They were going to do this because making planes and other weapons was becoming much to costly, something like this would be useful.
It took them only 3 years to get the creature with some of the desired qualities (they DID have the best equipment possible). By combinging a bat, lizard, and deep sea fish among some other creatures but these were the main. They ended up with a short haired, air and water breathing, six legged(2 for wings) flying lizard. Many started to call them 'dragons'. The code name for them was Awnune.
Now that they had a base they improved upon it. The first was small only 1 foot long, but it lived. They made it large and then decided before it got to large they wanted some intelligence in it. To obey and listen to commands. They thought, why not use humans? So they took people who would not be missed and experimented until they got it right. This toke about 8 years to do.
The riders didn't take near as long as they only were making them tougher. It took them 4 years. They code-called them Aia. For the last 5 years they have been improving it until they had all that they wanted from it. They found a way to make them fire breathers. By having two glads in the mouth and when they combined and was blown out it made fire.
Unfortunatly they awakened something that had been asleep for more then 1000 years. By creating these creatures and altering the humans to what they called perfection they had brung back long dormant magic. Some of the Awnune creatures noticed they could do things long thought impossible, only in fairy tales. Also by alter the once humans, and humans brain patterns to make them faster they made them all telekinetic without ever realizing it. They killed off ever specimen once it was proven to work, they only wanted the strong. Not weak and frail people off streets.
This is where you come in. The agents have gone around the world looking for humans with the best genetic information for this, also in decent health. If the kids, no matter where they live are healthy, have reasonable athletic ability, and the right genetic info. they are taken.
Alright! Now they have come up with two types of Awnune Dragons, Warrior and Ranger. The warrior is here (http://www.dreslough.com/main/dimar/forbiddenlove.JPG) and so is the ranger. The warrior is the scaled one and the ranger the more furred one. The over all look the geneticists have come up with is this (http://www.dreslough.com/main/dimar/megansfreebie.jpg) but the gills for underwater are located just behind the ears on the neck a ways.
Ranger
The Ranger is a bit smaller overall then the Warrior, however they can warp the trees to make houses in them. For both themselves and their rider. They make the trees grow till they are large enough to support a Awnune and their rider. They then make the branches warp to form a two story 'house' of sorts hidden in the branches.
Advantages
~Much much faster then Warrior so great eavasion(can keep speed up for long time), almost never hit
~Fur can change colour better then scales so better camouflage capabilities
~Better at Magics of the Earth, and Wind
Disadvantages
~Not very high attack or defense
~More vunrable to injures
~Slower to heal when hit
Warrior
These are the fighters of the two. They were built to go into battle and take a beating and come out still flying. Even their wings ar scaled. Because of the spikes on their back a saddle is needed for the rider else a very painful ride.
Advantages
~Great Attack and Defense because of scaled hide
~Magics of the Water, and Fire greater.
~Quick to heal naturally, hard to take down
Disadvantages
~Not the fastest flyer around
~Scales are harder to change from natural colouring
~Bursts of speed are very short, can't keep it up.
Rider
The riders are the ones who guide the Awnune. The Awnune are no dumber then when they were human but they cannot read anymore, can't focus on any sign or book. It helps to have someone who can read a map. The riders call themselves the Aia. They have over all great magical abilities. They can heal their parters and cause animals to come to their aid(can speak to all animals must be in simple terms though ex: Where enemy? not Where's the fricken enemy!) They create the boundry around the tree houses to make them look like a normal tree
They look over all mostly human except they have pointed ears and gills. They can go as deep in their ocean as their partners. Having gills on their necks. Well muscled to deal with stresses of where they have to go.
Okie sign ups! Two sign ups are aloud, 1 dragon 1 rider. The riders and dragons can speak telekinetic to anyone. The dragons have to as they can't speak anymore. Their tougues just don't work that way.

Personality: Rather reserved and keeps to herself. Not many friends and is rather cold. Doesn't look down on others really just not worth her time to befriend. Won't talk unless spoken to and then it is short to the point answer. After the change and she gets her rider however she opens up and becomes more friendly. Her sentances are still to the point however unless she is speaking with her rider or a friend. She is a lot more kind.

Sky Strike~A blast of wind tears through the enemy injuring them or killing them.
Ruin Wind~ Takes debries and wipes them around destroying anything in its path, avoiding Awnune and their riders
Whip Lance~Vines come up from ground or trees and cause to trap the enemy, strangle, or cause some minor whiplash injury.
