Newb Tendencies (RMT)

Well, I just joined this forum, so I guess I should say something about myself. I'm Chris, I'm 15, and I'm also known as The Essence on the Netbattle forums. There ya go.

Anyway, I made this team today, and I think that this is the first team I've ever had that doesn't have an UU or NU Pokémon on it. I'm not the master of OU Pokémon at all (usually I'm trying to think of ways to counter them), so I know that I'll need all the help I can get. Thanks in advance.

I like Amphy as a starter. Pseudo-pass move helps the team, but Sleep Talk pwns Smeargles and such. See Starmie as well.

Lately, I think Rest > Sub because Tentacruel's HP gets drained fairly fast.

I love this set. Handles metal birds quite well. Burnt Berry for the incredibly pessimistic (that would be me).

Pseudo-Hazer. Body Slam doesn't damage too much, but it can paralyze "those ghey Zapdos" (Crubz).

Amphy is looking good, Thunderwave might help him

Tenta looks alot like mine, good setup :)

Starmie doesnt need rapid spin (Twave, para is your friend) give it Thunderbolt or psychic in its last spot.

Miltank is along way from anything i'd use but its good.

Amphy- for the last move I would really suggest using t-wave, I am a big fan of par and it always benefits slower pokemon such as amphy. But if you insist on one or the other, sleep talk is also good.

tenta- set is one that I use but I'd suggest minty rest for quick rest recovery over leftovers.

starmie- screw passing moves, thunder wave is the wave of the future I say! I always have thundeer wave on a couple of pokemon, its VEYR useful! I'm not a huge fan of rapid spin either, but whatever.

milly- hmm... I'd go with body slam or return for good damage move(you want to be able to ko blissey atleast sometimes with miltank from my xperience. oh, and LEFTIES

donphan- a fine set indeed, but I personally enjoy curse over rest.

Arti- I never saw a point of putting a flying move on arti in all honesty. I'd put substiute over that... or reflect since I didnt want others to have a Psuedo passing move.

Sir Chris is the ultimate moveset rater, I have nothing to add on that... however, watch out for Electric types, you have a 3x weakness to it.

amphy is ok. your best bet would be a pseudo-passing move. sleep talking got a tad overrated towards the end of gsc's run. although, with that tentacruel, getting t-wave on the team would be a good idea. that's why sub doesn't work for you. you have to paralyze his team until all the heal bells are used up, and then paralyze and sleep some more, and make his/her pokemon use rest, and THEN come in and sub, swords dance, and go crazy. you probably aren't using it right. try using t-wave on starmie too. paralyzing is fun. miltank is interesting. i've seen it before, i just prefer a STAB move on her. Frustration would be my pick. It's just so much cooler to say than Return. ;/

donphan is one of the most overrated pokemon in the gsc metagame. it's god awful. i will never understand why someone uses him. you are only holding your team back by using him. he can't do anything.

arti is decent. hp flying is a waste. do you really think hera is going to be left in against articuno anyway? what is hera gonna do to it? arti is an interesting pokemon to use in gsc. maybe throw a random toxic on there? I honestly have no idea. arti isn't as good in gsc as he was in rby, sadly. mainly because he has no versatility at all. no real flying move. i would have loved to have seen arti get drill peck. :(

anyway, this team is decent. marowak tears through this team. the pseudo-passing of reflect is much needed. reflects, t-waves, and tentacruel sweeps are what i'm seeing. just get 2-3 reflecters(arti...??? drop donphan...he's holding your team down). t-wave everything, keep reflecting, and wait for your chance for tentacruel. try to not bring him in until you absolutely have to, so they don't know what you're trying to do.
