A poll about AOL Instant Messenger, because I had nothing better to do. *nod*

1. How long have you had AIM?

1. I've had AOL for about 5 years, which had the messenging system intergrated into it... But I've had AIM itself for about 6 months or so.

2. Yeah, it is. MSN is good, but I just don't like it as much.

3. That your font is customizable... It's nice to have the background and font colour of your choice. It's also simple and easy to use so I just get into the habit of having it on and talking to people.

4. That sometimes it decides to be evil and disconnect me or not send my messages to people sometimes. X_x;; That's annoying.

5. Um... 109. I was thinking about cutting it down to the people I actually talk to but I'm used to having it as big as it is and it'd be weird for me if I changed it.

6. I used to use privacy but I took it off a few months ago. I don't have any blocked at the moment either - Yay for not having any arch enemies I hate with a passion. O_o

1. Around two years.
2. Im not sure... its got better sides then MSN, but it has worse sides too. Eh.
3. It looks less 3D and yuck... and y'can send piccies nicely.
4. I cant remember at the time, really.
5. Alot, but I dont know who most of them are.
6. I got alot of people blocked, but I dont use privacy.

1. Well, since I got workered at the Goldenrod Tower, so, since June or July.

4. That when I used the AIM from Netscape Communicator, ummmm used to kick me out, and now I use the one from Netscape 7.1., I can't see people's background! --''

1. About 3 years nows, but I've had AOL since I was about... 8 or so, so altogether about 7 years? o_o

2. AIM.. most of my friends use it and the chats don't fry my computer every time I get invited to one (thank god for them invitations!)

3. Invites to chats. lol

4. It doesn't have a webcam service or whatever..

5. I have 60 people on my buddylist.

6. Nope no privacy.. and I have about 5 people blocked, heh.

1. Quite a while now...probably 5 years. Thankfully, I don't have AOL as a server.

2. AOL Messenger. It's the only thing AOL have got right. lol

3. Chatting in 'ummmm', official AIM chat room of TPM.

4. You can't chat with more than one person using a mike.

5. 99. A lot of them are the same people or people I don't talk to as often anymore.

6. Yeah. I have a few nuisance IMers blocked. No one from TPM, mind.

1. I've had it on and off for the last few years...

3. Um... it lets me talk to people who dont have other messangers... oh, and I like the fact you have a lot of colour and font choices for your text.
4. I don't like the way it's set up, it gets confusing, and that it's not connected to my e-mail, and that I don't have a lot of friends on it, and uh... many other reasons.
5. 16.. I only talk to about 6 or 7 of them, and most of those I usually talk to on msn, anyway.

I've had AIM for about 2 years. o_o I only heard about it after I joined TPM, so I eventually got it. ^^;
2. Is it your favourite messenger?
Uh... it depends. I only really use MSN and AIM and they both have their perks. I wouldn't really be able to choose just one.
3. What are your favourite things about it?
I really like the buddy icons, fonts, and the ability to change the spacing and stuff of your name. That's kinda cool.
4. What do you dislike the most about it?
x.o; I don't like the file sharing on AIM. It never seems to work properly for me. >_<;
5. How many people have you got on your buddy list?
Eh... about 100 on each messenger. x.o; I don't talk to everyone, though.

On both AIM/MSN, yes, I have people blocked. o_o
7. What's your AIM name?
I have 2 now, but I still mostly use Lightningchan. ^^

I can't remember exactly but I think it's been for just over 2 and a half years now.

2. Is it your favourite messenger?
Yeah.

3. What are your favourite things about it?
Being able to have your own coloured background and the variety of colours you can use for your test. Plus the chatrooms are well laid out and all my TPM friends are on it basically.

4. What do you dislike the most about it?
You can't choose crimson as your font colour and your profile is limited.

5. How many people have you got on your buddy list?
I've had loads of different names on it since I started using it but I clear it out every couple of months. At the minute I have 37, all are people in my TPM buddy list in my sig :)

6. Do you use privacy? Have you got anyone blocked?
No, I don't. I allow everyone to talk to me...I don't feel I should use privacy since I don't mind if people contact me. I used to have someone blocked but I unblocked them because I don't really like blocking people, who can usually be friendly.

7. What's your AIM name?
It's mimo2k4....for the minute :P

1) I've had AIM for about 3 years now, lol. I remember what a newbie I was when I first got it. I didn't even know how to change the colors. XD Well, it's a good thing that I'm accustomed to it now.

2) *shrug* I have only used MSN and AIM. Since I didn't use MSN for a long time, I don't have much of a choice, do I? :P I guess it's pretty good, though.

3) *blinks* Ummmm.. I don't know. ^_^'

4) I hate that so many little kids use it. Whenever I'm at the chatroom for TPM, a ton of 9-13 year olds go inside and start to type "liek dis". Since when was it okay to be an idiot online? You don't see people talking like a retard in REAL life. XD Oh well, I'll just have to get used to them. I don't dislike anything else, heh.

5) I have only 19 people on my list. All of those people are my best friends from O/L and R/L. I don't like to have a huge buddy list, since I may end up not knowing who is who, etc.

6) I use privacy at the moment. I try my best to avoid bots, etc. When I didn't have privacy, I had a lot of people blocked. I suppose it's a lot easier to have privacy in my case. :o

7) My AiM screenname is firerose1146. =D

1. I've had AIM since I was in sixth grade, so for about 3 years. If I'm ever on the computer I'm signed on, even if I'm not talking.

2. I have actually never used MSN. So I gotta go with AIM on this one cause I have no comparison.

3. Chats by far. Omg, I have some f****** hilarious chats with friends in those. And the best part ks when you invite randome people in who only know one person in that chat from like a summer camp. They get all confused and leave.

4. Warnings. Warning wars are fun but also extremely annoying.

5. 104 peeps. I only talk to like 30 of them though. But I only talk to about 3 of them a day. It just looks cooler to have a ton of people for unknown reasons.

6. I do have people blocked. There was this one girl who I knew who was EXTREMELY ANNOYING. And she would talk to you and annoy you, and you block her. So she gets on another of her library of names and starts talking to you. I literally have seven of her names on my block list.

7. smirkingraccoon3 (hahaha) possibly mite change sooon...(duh duh duh).

1. nearly 2 years

2. yes, and it's the only messenger I use

3. probably profiles/subprofiles... and probably the user interface

4. no major complaints

5. 66 people (including myself) that I know, 11 from TPM, 8 from fantasy sports leagues, and 19 I met in random online chat rooms last year... 104 total

6. I have around 5 people blocked... after a few weeks or so I unblock them since they will probably forget me

For about 3 years. Back then you could only IM and since there was no chat room feature I hardly used it.

It's simple to use, everyone uses it, and it's just as good as Aol and it's free.

4. What do you dislike the most about it?
You can't have a webcam view on it like Yahoo or MSN. :< If AiM added this feature it would truly pwn the rest of the messengers.

177. o_o; Mind you that about half are dead sns.

No. I really don't care about privacy on buddy list and that crap, if you IM me and annoy me, you just get blocked. *shrug*

1) about 4 years, I had AOL for a few years before that but I never used IM back then.

2) Sorta, IMO MSN is better, but more people use AIM and I only know a few people who have MSN

3) Profiles and the fact that just about everybody has it

4) It's like AOL, slow and unreliable. Often doesn't work.Also, u can't change your display name which kinda sucks

5) I'm in Canada so I can't access my list, but I think around 130

6) i just block people who send me ads and stuff

4. Disconections/Lags/Chat errors/Randoms
5. 92 (with lots of clones of people tho).
6. Yes, I have privacy. In general floodbooters = (n), so I have no other choice =/
