=D I'll ref! oO Even though I haven't reffed a real battle since like.. well... let's just say over a half of a year.

EDIT: oO If it's alright with both battlers, can I increase the damage given? Like by 50% or something? oO (so instead of 10% damage, there'd be 15%)

Drown out the noise of that Roar with a powerful Sonic Boom. We'll see who's noisier.

Dodge that fire spin, use a String Shot Do swing yourself under the latform your on, and stay beneath it. Your opponent wont be able to aim underneath properly.

Finally charge yourself up, and launch a Night Shade to envelop the platform that Houndoom is on[/b]

~Round One~

The Dark Master vs. RaZoR LeAf
Houndoom [Copernicus | M] vs. Spinarak [Jeff | M]

Houndoom: Roar, Firespin, Flamethrower
Spinarak: Sonicboom, String Shot, Night Shade

~Pre-Battle Statistics~

Houndoom: 100%, no fatigue
Spinarak: 100%, no fatigue

~Pre-Battle~

Darkness loomed around the arena, filling every crevice and crack, every hole and hollow. Statues enveloped in darkness peered down on the falling floor, condemning it to its never-ending fate. Death and Despair stared at the arena, walked on its every surface. Cold stone stairs connected the two perilous floors, cracked but still sturdy. The tiled floors fell down into eternity, showing the gray of concrete where the tiles had been ripped off due to weathering old age. Floating, hovering, mimicking the falling floor were small dust particles, suspended in mid-air. No sane life forms tried adapting to the cold, harsh, dark environment that plagued the lifeless area. Light pierced through the darkness but faded as time went on.

Two very small platforms appeared from above, dropping at a much faster rate than the two large platforms that had already been falling. Once the two platforms reached the same level as the already-existent broken off pieces of floor, they slowed down to the same falling speed as the floor. A trainer was on each platform, both contestants in the upcoming battle. The trainers looked at each other carefully, and then the first trainer, known as RaZoR LeAf, grasped a Pokéball at his side.

"I choose Jeff, my Spinarak," he said, as he released the Pokéball out onto the chipped floor. The ball bounced and then rolled a few inches, before stopping and moving onto it's side. It propped itself opened and unleashed a glowing red energy. The energy flooded out of the ball and formed into the shape of a spider. "Spinarak!" the spider shouted, as it was released from its ball. It was primarily green, with six short yellow and black legs. It scuttled towards the middle of the battlefield.

The second trainer, The Dark Master, saw the choice of a spider, and quickly made the decision of which Pokémon to counter it with. He too chucked a Pokéball into the air, and it followed the same routine as the previous one had. "I send out Copernicus, my Blue Houndoom," he stated, as the energy from the Pokéball slowly formed into the shape of a large dog. It was blue [sorry if it being "blue" is inaccurate, but I assumed it was because well... it's a blue Houndoom] with two large horn-like things on its head, and a long pointed tail.

"Okay Copernicus, give an almighty Roar and scare the living hairs off Spinarak then use Fire Spin and then flamethrower," The Dark Master commanded. Copernicus looked back at his trainer, then at the small insect, and nodded.

"Drown out the noise of that Roar with a powerful Sonic Boom. We'll see who's noisier. Dodge that fire spin, use a String Shot Do swing yourself under the platform your on, and stay beneath it. Your opponent wont be able to aim underneath properly. Finally charge yourself up, and launch a Night Shade to envelop the platform that Houndoom is on." RaZoR LeAf gave the counter-strategy.

A ref then appeared on a third falling platform, and signaled the start of the battle with a blow of a whistle.

~Battle~

Copernicus stared three yards in front of him, where the scratch on his back lay. He chuckled, looking at the insignificant insect-like Pokémon. The Pokémon looked so small, so insecure, and Copernicus decided that scaring it would help intimidate the bug even further. Copernicus took a deep breath, gather air into his lungs, getting ready to give one of his fiercest roars he could muster.

Jeff looked at Copernicus, quizzically, wondering why he was smirking. Spinarak didn't really care in the end, and wasn't going to start wondering why his opponent, a big dumb dog, would be doing or not doing something. Spinarak quickly scuttled away from Houndoom for a couple seconds, readying a loud attack of his own. He yelled at the top of his lungs, making a sound that wasn't a sound. A high-pitched screech rolled out in front of him, creating a twister-like object. It grew taller and taller as Jeff kept emitting the sound.

At the same time Copernicus had filled his lungs, so they were at 100% filled. He then gave a large roar, and the low-pitched roar countered the high-pitched screech, but Copernicus's roar lasted only for the time when he actually made the sound, and no longer. The twister that was previously created by Spinarak was now moving straight towards Copernicus. Houndoom tried to dodge the wave of sound, but was blasted by it. He fell to the ground as the forceful sound hit him, making him suffer severely.

Jeff quickly shot out a thick, sticky thread from his backside, and used it to attach to the side of the platform he was currently on. It would prove to be too difficult to try and aim directly under where he currently was, so the side would have to do. He then raced over towards where his thread had gone, letting it pull him the whole way. The single strong thread held his weight the whole time, as he flung himself over the edge, dangling by one small string.

Houndoom glared at Jeff, who was trying to make a getaway. He then ignited a small pouch that he held within his body, holding an unlimited supply of a fiery-type substance that his body created. He then pushed the fire up towards his lungs, to his throat, and into his mouth, where it lay roaring with anger. Copernicus had a natural resistence to the fire, and was unaffected by the burning hot flames that were building up inside his mouth. He released the fire and it created a tornado, yet another twister attack had been made. This time the flames spun towards Spinarak, and then stopped, keeping up a swirling rate, and heating up the previously cold arena.

Jeff then went up onto the platform again, and saw the intimidating fire tornado. He, however, wasn't scared, and decided to engulf the arena in an even darker darkness than it was already suffering from. He absorbed the lack of light from his surroundings and then glowed grayish-black. A small particle appeared in front of him, and then another, and they quickly sped towards the opposing Houndoom.

Copernicus again activated the fire pouch, and released it. This time, however, it was more of a gun-type attack, where the flames came directly out of his mouth and straight at the opponent. The flames passed through the darkness that Spinarak had shot out.

The darkness hit Copernicus and he winced; it stung for a little, but not much. However the damage was constant, and felt like a mosquito constantly stinging him. When the flames hit Spinarak, he fell backwards, narrowly missing the fiery tornado which still plagued the arena. Rolling around a few times, the flames that were on Spinarak cooled. The threads that he had around him all melted into nothing.

~Post Battle Statistics~

Houndoom: 93%, still taking damage from the Night Shade, stinging
Spinarak: 87%, slightly burned (just slightly) on one leg, nothing major
Arena: A large fiery tornado right smack dab in the middle.

SORRY FOR THE SHORTNESS! It was the best I could do in 15 minutes.

Short... o.0;

Alright Jeff, see that Tornado, it may be dangerous to you, but it's also a godsend. So lets make or break.

With the tornado obstructing your enemies veiw lets build up our defences. Start off with a Double Team, the more of you there are, the less chance there is of being hit.

Next, fire off a Sludge Bomb. If Copernicus is enarby and you can see him, aim for him. If not, then launch it INTO the tornado of fire. Hopefully, it'll be flung out all over the place.

Finally if Copernicus is nearby hit him with another Night Shade. If not, then try an agility to get your speed up.

Double Team | Sludge Bomb | Night Shade~Agility

~Round Two~

The Dark Master vs. RaZoR LeAf
Houndoom [Copernicus | M] vs. Spinarak [Jeff | M]

Houndoom: Swift, Darkblast, Shadow Ball
Spinarak: Double Team, Sludge Bomb, Night Shade/Agility

~Pre-Battle Statistics~

Houndoom: 93%, still taking damage from Night Shade, stinging
Spinarak: 87%, slightly burned (just slightly) on one leg, nothing major
Arena: A large fiery tornado smack dab in the middle

~Pre-Battle~

Spinning with great speed was a twister filled with fire, giving off a great, huge, heat which could be felt even by the ref; who was on the far platform. It roared with anger; showing it's fiery red and orange face to the two opponents, the two Pokémon, and the one ref. No one was intimidated by the fire's fake facade... well at least no one except the ref, who was cowering in a corning crying, "No, mommy... don't let it take me!" The darkness still loomed close by, but it seemed different now that the fire was emitting a warm light as the platforms dropped. Both trainers seemed to be a little more into it now that they had gotten a "warm-up" round. They both had, if possible, more life than before, and were more intense as the time went on.

Copernicus lay at the opposite end of the fire cone from Spinarak. He hissed menacingly, glaring fiercely at the small insect that had inflicted so much pain, and caused more damage than just a shot to his pride. He growled with anger, a low, loud moaning type noise that one would hear only if they were going to walk into a cemetery full of zombies and ghosts. The heat from the tornado didn't effect Houndoom at all; he was naturally used to fire, and most heat that stood in his way. It was just hindering his natural abilities.

Spinarak, on the other hand, looked quite content, happy at it's job against what seemed to be an impossible enemy. Using careful moves and strategies he was able to create the best atmosphere. Jeff couldn't get a clear view at Houndoom, who was most likely growling at the other side of the tornado. He, however, did feel the heat from the large obstacle that stood in his way. Unlike Copernicus, he did not have a natural immunity to fire, heat, and flames. Quite to the contrary, that was his weakness in battle: fire.

The ref had finally gotten over his "I want my mommy" mood, and started taking actual note of the battlers. RaZoR LeAf was thinking of a careful strategy that led no room for any surprise attacks to come. He thought carefully; hoping to make this situation even better than it already was. It would be risky to try to attack full out, so careful planning must be used. While thinking, he tapped his fingers against the railing of his platform, making a mechanical "plunk" sound when each individual finger hit the railing. Finally, he readied his attacks.

"Alright Jeff, see that Tornado, it may be dangerous to you, but it's also a godsend. So lets make or break. With the tornado obstructing your enemies view lets build up our defenses. Start off with a Double Team, the more of you there are, the less chance there is of being hit. Next, fire off a Sludge Bomb. If Copernicus is nearby and you can see him, aim for him. If not, then launch it INTO the tornado of fire. Hopefully, it'll be flung all over the place. Finally if Copernicus is nearby hit him with another Night Shade. If not, then try an agility to get your speed up," RaZoR LeAf commanded.

"Okay Copernicus, Conjure a Swift then use a DarkBlast while trying your best staying away from the tornado of flame and then finally shadowball Spinarak," The Dark Master replied.

The ref, finally in control of himself, looked up and realized that both battlers were ready. "Twweet," his whistle sounded and the second round was under way!

~Battle~

Spinarak quickly scurried towards the right side of the fire, hoping to catch a good glimpse at Copernicus; and rather hoping that Copernicus saw some of him. It would help in the later actions, and may prove to be useful in this one. Spinarak closed his eyes and concentrated as hard as he could. He remembered the attack perfectly, and the definite outline of his body started to become fuzzier. It slowly disappeared, and then a flash of light appeared, and another Jeff, exactly like the first one, appeared. This happened three more times, each the same as the last.

Copernicus at first was taken by surprise, actually being able to see Spinarak duplicating itself time and time again. After the first duplication he grew bored and remembered what his command was. He realized that if Spinarak kept multiplying, it would be impossible for him to actually hit it. He readied his attack, getting energy from all around him and inside his body, transferring it to his mouth. There the energy built up and caused his mouth to glow a whitish-yellow color. Houndoom then released the attack onto his opponent, sending brilliant white stars swooping at the fives copies of Spinarak.

Jeff had just finished using Double Team, happy at his identical twins that were displaying the exact same face, emotions, and movements as the real Spinarak. He, however, saw the stars coming towards him, and rolled, followed by four more rolls. The stars tore through one clone immediately, and soon another clone broke apart. The remaining star hit the real Jeff, but not for much damage. It hurt him very little, but he was now two clones short of what he had in the very beginning.

Copernicus speedily set out to do its job, a devastating signature move that would cause much harm to his foe. For a split second his eyes glowed a dark blood red, emitting a faint glow that looked rather like the glow of the fire in the center of the arena. It was now slowly dying, but still remained there. He then slowly faded out of view, gradually becoming more like a shadow than anything else.

Jeff, getting ready to do his attack based on poisons, was amazed when Copernicus cloaked himself and turned to a state of panic. The toxins that he had been gathering from his regular body fluids were now almost all in his mouth, building up and creating a goo-like substance. It would being to feel uncomfortable after a long amount of time, but currently Spinarak was unaffected by the poisons that had gathered. He was trying to find where Copernicus had disappeared to.

Meanwhile, Copernicus had tip-toed over to Spinarak, and silently snuck behind him. He uncloaked and made a barking type noise. He had been gathering dark energy when he was cloaked, along with accessing more fire from the infinite supply of fire that he held within his body. They mixed in his mouth as he shot two perfectly round balls of black fire at Jeff.

Spinarak had just enough time to see Copernicus to unleash the acids in his mouth. They spat out in a goo form and reached Copernicus's shoulder, poisoning it. He then found himself hit by two balls made of fiery darkness, which quickly turned into miniature twisters. The two twisters spun Jeff around, however never quite throwing him into the darkness. They spat him out right on the floor, dealing major damage to Jeff.

Jeff got up rather slowly, but felt okay. He might have been damaged physically, but mentally and emotionally he still held up perfectly. He again fed off the darkness which surrounded him, and seemed to be a thing of life to any creature that might live on the falling tiles. It slowly grew within him, and he emitted another greyish glow. It illuminated the space around him, but not for long.

At the same time Houndoom was making a little dark magic of his own. He was sucking in the same darkness that seemed to grow every second to use to his own advantage. The darkness rounded itself out inside Houndoom's body, making a perfect orb. It happened all in just a little while, and the orb sat on the tip of Copernicus's tongue.

Copernicus and Jeff unleashed they're dark based attacks at the same time towards each other. The stream of inky darkness and the black orb of darkness hit each other in the middle of the two battlers. The ball made of shadows exploded once it hit the Night Shade. This caused both battlers to get injured equally, while the Night Shade seemed to be nulled.

~Post Battle Statistics~

Houndoom: 82%, poisoned, quite fatigued
Spinarak:58%, still recovering from the last two dark attacks, minor fatigue, all double teams eliminated
Arena: A small tornado, now more towards the opposite side of the battlers.

Okay, when on EARTH did you get that sig?!?? 30% damage, 80% accuracy... a chance of both confusing AND flinching, and unlimited use?!? GET REAL!

Yumemiru
18th January 2003, 01:48 PM
!@$!$*

Well, by using your sig you have sacrificed it entirely. You may never use it again. Since no amount of tweaking can make that...thing...acceptable, you may opt for a new sig completely or no sig at all. I expect your post for it in the TA tower soon.

Quite frankly, I'm tiring of seeing these examples of über cheapness coming from you. They were okay then, but you know darn well that they are not now. It would behoove you to turn in all of your overpowered sigs to either Impereon or me before we decide to take further action. We might be a bit less forgiving if you choose to wait.

And before anyone starts to go off on how bad some of my sigs are, you should know that most of them no longer exist. I'm in the process of making entirely new ones, as I've chosen to no longer display my ancient cheapness.

Icy
18th January 2003, 01:58 PM
ah, I thought there was something a little wrong with that sig (okay, a LOT). Even if it was 60% accuracy and one use, it'd still be fairly cheap...

So, um... ASHarris, do I re-ref the round, or do I just keep it as it is?

Yumemiru
18th January 2003, 02:05 PM
Keep it as it is. It gives him a bit of an unfair freebie, but it was is sig move...and until now it was technically "legal."

The Dark Master
18th January 2003, 02:09 PM
ASHarris: I have Told you and Imp that i do have high Sigs and you did say to wait until i do use them or just delete them, i even told you that you and Imp and the other ppl would complain and I am not trying to be cheap and trying to play being uber, I just like having a cool sig with a bit of variety then a plain dull sig with just an attack and text.

I will goto the TA tower and tell me, do you want me to post all my current sigs and pokemon or what do you want me to do. I have a request, all i wish is to somehow edit the sigs that are unfair/overpowered to make them fair for me use them again because the sigs i have especially my Houndoom's here i find special and would like to edit it and the all the other ones so that everyone would be happy that there wont be cheap sigs and that i'll be happy too because i'll still have the sigs but tweaked or changed around for it to be okay with.

EDIT:

And ASHarris, as iv have been here, I really don't like it how you treat me as if im the Bad guy here, its like this has been giong on ever since that day I got my Sigs locked by Tyger and I really didnt do anything to deserve the anger from you which has been getting to me since that day. I'm not trying to talk back its just that you don't think im a nice person in some ways when you do show it.

Totodile:

Id like it very much if there was a re-Ref. Its better this way so that Razor Leaf has a Better chance and its only fair.

Icy
18th January 2003, 02:18 PM
oh, and TDM, just incase you've forgotten: It's your turn to post attacks. :D, the whole thing may have caused some forgetfullness.

The Dark Master
20th January 2003, 03:26 PM
Totodile, I'll post my attacks once i get this problem under wraps.

Yumemiru
20th January 2003, 03:43 PM
If you want a re-ref, that's fine. Of course, that's also up to PX. Though the two of you would really have to just start over with new attacks, unless you just want the sig to fail. I'd recommend just moving on, as long as all participants agree to it.

Sigs do not have to be dull to be fair. I've seen some amazingliy intricate and complex sigs that fit quite well into our current standards. If you simply wish to just edit the sigs to make them fair, that is perfectly acceptable. We can do that. Just post your sigs in the TA Tower, state that you're "turning them in" for reapproval, and we'll tell you what to do to make them more fair. It is understandable that some of your attacks are no longer appropriate; it's not really your fault. They were approved a while ago, and standards have changed.

The reason that I stated that your Houndoom's sig is pretty much beyond editing is that it's an obvious combo. Faint attack + plus some fireball twister things. Post it with the rest of the attacks, and perhaps we can find some way to alter it to make it okay... But I'm not sure.

So, yes...post all of your sigs in the tower for re-evaluation, and we can get this whole thing sorted out here and now. No harm done, and then everyone can go home happy.

And for the record, I do not hold grudges.

The Dark Master
23rd January 2003, 03:31 AM
Alright then, Razor Leaf. Would it be alright if we did a while re-ref of the last round? This would mean new attacks from which you would post new attacks and the I would post next.

Is this okay or do you want to keep the reffing which i doubt since i feel its un-fair and continue on with the match from where it left off.

RaZoR LeAf
23rd January 2003, 09:52 AM
Ok re-ref it is.

Hmm.

Jeff start off with a Screech, try and distract your foe and hurt his hearing.

Next use Flash, shock his sight aswell as sound.

The ref, finally in control of himself, looked up and realized that both battlers were ready. "Twweet," his whistle sounded and the second round was under way!

~Battle~

Spinarak readied another ear-splitting attack. If the ref's senses weren't dull enough, this would definitely send them over the edge. Spinarak, however, wasn't aiming to null the ref's sense of hearing, but rather to null Coprenicus' hearing. The dog had sensitive ears, capable of hearing things far off and hearing things that would seem inaudible to the human ear. Spinarak inhaled deeply, trying to fill his lungs to their fullest capacity. He seemed to grow bigger as he did this; perhaps he actually did, perhaps it was just an imagination. The fire cone still stood in the way, however.

Copernicus saw this action taking place, and recognized it. He narrowed his eyes, and made sure that Spinarak was in view. He then gathered dark energy around him, making sure he had gathered enough for the next attack. A pale grayish glow emerged from Houndoom's body. He became re-energized, and quickly ran towards the opponent.

Spinarak saw this coming, but could do nothing to flee from it. Instead he decided to give off his loud attack first. With a opening of his mouth a loud noise emerged. It filled the never-ending arena, and rang in Copernicus's ears. Copernicus, however, was still charging full speed at Spinarak, and, once he reached Spinarak, scratched him on his already semi-burnt leg.

Houndoom took another chance to inflict major dark damage onto his weak, pathetic foe. Now that Jeff had scuttled about three feet away from him, he charged rapidly at him again. His feet started to heat up from rubbing so quickly against the tile floor. Although this was not because of the friction, but rather the actual heat that was being emitted from the fiery tornado.

Jeff stared at Houndoom, and then began to ready yet another attack. He gathered as much light as he could from the dark arena. Slowly he condensed that light and transferred it to his eyes. As he did this process, Jeff's eyes started to become a dark yellow color. He collected more and more light, and soon a brilliant glow radiated out of Jeff's eyes.

Houndoom drew nearer with his charge, and Jeff released the condensed light. Houndoom, who was looking directly at Jeff, was instantly blinded. The light flashed so brightly that Houndoom went off course for a split second. He veered off course and ended up far from his original target. The flash of the light caused Copernicus to see small brilliant white spots in his vision. The dark energy he had earlier was useless, the bone-shaking crunch would have less effect now, so there was little point in wasting energy trying to do it.

Jeff was pleased that his previous attack had worked, and now decided to continue with his next one. The once powerful hurricane of flames had now whittled down into just a few lone flames, dancing in different directions. Slowly Spinarak transferred the toxins that mixed inside his abdomen to his mouth. As the toxins traveled through Spinarak's body into his mouth, Spinarak glared at Copernicus.

Copernicus wasn't exactly feeling brotherly towards Jeff either, as he sapped more fire energy from his pouch of fire. [okay, I'm sorry it gets rushed here, but I know you two probably want it up by tonight, so I'm going to have to cut it short. XD I have to go real soon, so yeah]. Spinarak, just a split second before Copernicus, shot off his sludge-like toxins towards Copernicus, slightly poisoning him. Houndoom, who had been gathering fire for some time, was hit by the gooey substance, but countered with a full-on fire attack of his own. The flamethrower effect that emerged from Houndoom's mouth raced on to hit Jeff, but was a little off of its mark because of the spots that Houndoom was seeing. The flames however still hit Jeff and burned him a little more than he already was.

Okay Jeff use Protect to survive that Flame Thrower.

Then as Copernicus is using Faint Attack, use a String Shot to swing yourself under the platform again. See if that Houndoom follows you under. There'll be a suprise if he does.

Finally, stay under the platform and use Curse to build up your strengths.
