*Middle Earth Open Challenge: Hobbiton*

This will be the first in a series of Open Challenges, all set in some location in Middle Earth.

Arena: Hobbiton

In the pastoral and bucolic village of Hobbiton, the grass is always green and the air is constantly tinged with the gentle aroma of springtime flowers. The portly denizens of this fairy-tale wonderland are hustling and bustling all over the village in high anticipation of what is to come later in the evening. Every now and then, a wooden cart rolls past, laden with packages and presents and most of all, fireworks!
Yes, a celebration is about to begin, but not just any ordinary celebration. It is the birthday of two very special Hobbits, Bilbo and Frodo Baggins. And as the day draws on, the finishing preparations are made. In a large open field, the last signs and flowing banners are set up, the golden pavilions are established, and the myriad of assorted food and beverages are prepared. It is finally time for the festivities to begin…
But before the night sky is filled with any fireworks or the steaming plates of food are touched, a small brown bird swoops through the crowd of Hobbits and lands in the middle of the open field. He challenges anyone to a Pokemon battle before the real celebration begins. Who will answer his call?

The arena is a lush grassy field surrounded by pavillions and tents where the food is set and eager Hobbits are coming to watch as the battle begins. The time is early in the night after the sun sets.

Okay, Enicho, don't fall for the Eevee. Blast her with a Confuse Ray, then hit her with Swift and finally, dodge her Shadow Ball and hit her with Faint Attack!

<Well, I feel big,> the ref's Charizard commented as they made their way towards the arena, surrounded by smaller-than-usual tents that stored treats for the upcoming celebrations. For now though, the field would be the sight for a one on one Pokemon battle. As soon as the ref arrives, the trainers release their choices. On one side, Enicho the Natu appears and hops up and down, excited to be out. At the other end, a beautiful Eevee named Belldandy materializes and stands her ground for the upcoming battle. Both trainers yell out their attacks and once things get cleared away, the ref waves her flag down to begin the match.

Making herself look more attractive, Bell fluffs her mane a bit more than usual and bats her eyes at Enicho. The Natu falls completely under her spell and hops towards her, love in his eyes. Completely ignoring his trainer's orders to attack, Enicho trills happily as Bell bounds around him happily, a smile plastered on her face with a wicked gleam in her eyes that he can't detect.

Deceiving him a bit more, Bell splits into 4 entities, making Enicho swoon even more as he stares into 8 wonderful faces. He still can't seem to attack his sweetheart so he continues to stare for all the time that he can bear, which will most likely seem like forever, unless he's broken out of his trance.

Yelling loudly for Enicho to use his attacks, the trainer must've struck a cord with his Pokemon as almost regretfully, Enicho breaks away from Bell's gaze and disappears for a moment before he crashes through a clone, making it blink away instantly. Smirking now, Bell concentrates and produces a ball of ghostly energy. Swatting it at the lovey-dovey Natu, it pushes into him and sends him down. Squawking a bit, Enicho soon gets up and stares at Bell with tears and rage in his eyes. He will get his revenge soon enough:

Beginning the round once again, Bell ignores Enicho and concentrates on herself. As Enicho teleports from sight, Bell glows a deep forest green and sacrifices speed for enhanced strength and defensive prowess. As Enicho reappears once more, he gets lucky and lands on top of the real Bell. Digging his claws into her back, she screeches in pain and feels the wetness of blood slowly running down.

Hanging on tight, Enicho tries to concentrate and suck health from her and replenish his own but as he starts to get some, Bell bucks wildly and falls down onto her back. Rolling onto her back, she tries to tumble over but it's hard to squish something as big as you. Instead, Bell manages to get him off but she loses her clones in the process as she kicks up grass and dirt.

Both panting from the wild ride, Enicho is the first to act since he didn't have to do all the bucking. Somehow able to spin his beak rapidly, he hops towards Bell and jabs harshly into her back. Still a bloody mess, Bell wails in even more pain as another hole open up on her side. Feeling a bit woozy but still functioning, Bell remains in her sitting position and releases a glob of poisonous waste into Enicho's eyes. He immediately stops his drilling and squeaks in pain as it basically burns his eyes. It soon disappears into his body though but he doesn't know what's in store for him:

Belldandy:84% Holes in her back and side, bleeding, panting

Belldandy, I know this was a hard round for you, but we gotta keep going. Start off with letting out the Frustration I'm sure you have after that round. Follow up with a Focus Energy. Finally, use Bite on Enicho!

Enicho, heal your poison with Refresh! Then Teleport onto her back again and use Giga Drain!

If Refresh doesn't work, change your strategy. Teleport onto her back first, then Giga Drain, and then spew Toxic into one of her bleeding holes.

Concentrating hard, Enicho starts to shake and like a snake, his outer skin starts to fall off. With it is the poison that Bell induced into his body. Looking clean and brand new, Enicho is then ravaged somewhat by his opponent although she isn't that angry. As an end result, it leaves him bloodied and dirty but not as bad as it could've been

In the next moment, Bell ignores Enicho and sits down. Concentrating on her inner energy, she calms herself down and focuses on her upcoming attack, planning on attacking him accurately and hard. The next moment, she feels the weight of Enicho on top of her, digging into her back again.

Sucking away health from her and replenishing his meter, the Natu is almost done when Bell uses her familiar plan to roll on her back and crush him as well. As soon as she can get in at him, she bites him on the wing, hard. He chirps in pain and annoyance and she grins sadistically from causing so much pain. She eventually lets go but it leaves Enicho's left wing bloodied and almost useless:

Okay, Enicho, give her a Confuse Ray. Then Giga Drain again and Toxic attack!

If she closes her eyes during Confuse Ray, use Psychic instead, slamming her against the ground.

If she uses Protect at any time, use Future Sight!

If she tries Toxic again, dodge it use Faint Attack!

If she tries to avoid your attacks, use Swift!

If she sets up a Reflect, use Psychic!

Okay, Belldandy...this round isn't looking too good, so use a Sand-Attack first off! Then use a Shadow Ball followed by a Quick Attack!

Enicho:67% Bleeding in left wing, panting hard

Still breathing hard from the refresh from before, Enicho still has to stand still but releases a red beam from his eyes. Although bleeding, Bell is in good enough condition to turn around and kick up dirt and grass in Enicho's direction with great vigor, like she's searching for buried treasure. Making the beam fade due to the disruption, the grime sprays Enicho and although he isn't blinded, the dirt getting into his bleeding wing won't bode over so well after the battle.

Hopping towards Bell with a grimace in his eyes since he needs his wings to help balance himself, the Natu gets close to Bell when the Eevee creates a nice, mid-sized ball of ghostly energy. Swiping it with her paw, she sends it into Enicho and sends him tumbling backwards. Already tired, it's hard for hit to get back up and go on but he manages to and with a mix of moaning and panting, he manages to get himself back on his feet.

Too bad Bell starts to attack again as she shoots straight forward and sends Enicho flying with a headbutt to the chin. Flapping his right wing to gain a bit of control, he awkwardly floats down to the ground and lands hard. Luckily, he get some revenage by releasing toxins and watches as it splatters against Bell and seeps into her body for future torturing rounds:

Belldandy:69% Poisoned (2% next round), panting, slightly bleeding

Okay, Belldandy, although you're in this condition, we're winning...let's keep it that way!

Stat off this round with another shot at spraying Toxic on Enicho! Then use a Charm, focusing more on looking pitiful than beatiful. Follow it up with a Body Slam!

Quick Attack away from Toxic and strike her. Then close your eyes and use Calm Mind to resist getting Charmed by her. Finally, use Psychic attack to knock her away when she uses Body Slam.

If you do find yourself Charmed and cannot harm her, use Attract!

Getting revenge for her venemous affliction, Bell releases the same vile toxin Enicho sent at her. Although one wing is barely useable, Enicho is able to use the other and with a few hops, he races towards Bell with his other wing keeping him steady. As the toxin heads towards him, Enicho dodges to the side and keeps on going before ramming into Bell, both sprawling to the ground.

As both shake themselves off and get back up, Bell concentrates on making herself look pitiful and get Enicho's attention before he tries to attack. Unfortunately, he completely ignores her as he closes his eyes and looks deep within himself, enhancing his special attacking and defensive prowess with a cool emerald glow to show off.

As soon as Enicho opens his eyes, he finds Bell charging at him. Colliding into him, he feels the pain but prevents anymore damage by releasing a burst of psychic energy and forcing her to fly in the air before crashing down to the ground. Both Pokemon are nursing their wounds but Bell feels the extra sting from the poison taking over her body:

Belldandy:55% Poisoned (4% next round), moderately fatigued

All right, Enicho, keep using Psychic, especially if she tries physical attacks on you. Then Giga Drain some health back.

If she tries to incapacitate you with Toxic/Attract/Charm etc., Teleport behind her and keep attacking.

If she tries to dodge or lower your accuracy, use Swift!

Round 6

Building up a ball of ethereal energy in front of her body, Enicho's eyes glow a strange violet and sends a wave of powerful psychic energy at the Eevee. Before it hits her, she sends the ball towards him with a swipe of her paw and watches as the two attacks pass each others and slam into their targets, both falling to the ground in pain. They're still very much in it though and get up to do it again. Both just as weak as before, they send the same attacks as before and again, both take a tumble.

Enicho's determination is greater than anything at this point and struggles to get up. Bell feels the same way and quivers as she gets back up onto her feet. As Enicho hops over to suck energy away from her, she puts up a translucent dome to prevent Enicho from coming anywhere near her. The Natu comes closer and closer and is surprised when he smacks into the dome and falls down. Immediately jumping back up in indignation, he pecks against the wall but finds it to be impenetrable. And thus, he gives up but watches with smugness as Bell receives damage anyway, even if it wasn't physical:

Okay Belldandy...it may be looking bad, but we're winning nontheless, and we can do this!

Start off with a Charm like the other round, trying to make Enicho have some pity for you. Follow up with a quick Bite, and finally, a Body Slam!

Ignore Charm again by closing your eyes and using Calm Mind. When she comes in for a Bite, hop onto her and use Giga Drain. Finally block her Body Slam with Psychic like before.

Both Pokemon harshly panting from the last round, Bell can barely make herself look pitiful to Enicho but she sees him going into a meditative state so all she can do is wait until he opens his eyes again.

Soon after Bell gives up, Enicho indeed opens his eyes once more to find himself sort of dizzy. As he tries to concentrate and focus on hurting Bell, the Eevee bounds over to him and bites him on his bad wing. He shrieks in pain and tries to throw her off but remembers the plan and starts to glow a minty green. Sending the aura over to Bell, he sucks away her health and puts it into him. Of course, it's not as strong as it could be but it's enough to make Bell let go and gasp in pain and annoyance.

Feeling a bit better healthwise although still quite fatigued, Enicho waits for Bell to get up and charge into him. Doggedly, she indeed gets up and charges into the Natu but a simple psychic blow sends her reeling back a couple of feet. Still, Enicho is suffering as both Pokemon feel ready to drop but it seems Bell is almost there first unless she comes up with a plan and quick:

Enicho:26% Highly fatigued
Belldandy:16% Poisoned (8% next round), highly fatigued

Okay, see if we can end this battle. Relax first to restore some energy (make sure to close your eyes to resist attraction). Then give her a couple of Psychic blasts, especially if she runs toward you to attack.

If she tries to dodge or lower your accuracy during your attack phase, hit her with Swift x2!

Eep, I didn't see this! ^_^;; Sorry...

Belldandy...this isn't looking too good, but let's see if we can hang on just a bit more. Start off with a Shadow Ball while Enicho is trying to relax. Protect yourself from the first Psychic blast, and then use Bite if you've still got it in you!

Needing a well deserved break, Enicho earns one and just flops down onto his stomach, happy to be not doing anything for a moment. Knowing this is her time to strike, Bell builds up the ethereal ball of energy and sends it at Enicho. Bracing himself, he feels the pain as he's sent backwards, rolling a few feet. Even still, it's Bell who feels the pain as she groans and pants even more, showing her vulnerable side.

Getting back up, Enicho begins to concentrate and sends out the familiar wave of psychic energy. Slower than Enicho because of the constant attacks, Bell is unable to put up a barrier in time and is knocked down by the attack.

Struggling to get up, the Eevee coughs for a bit before coming at Enicho, teeth bared but in a dazed state. Another wave of mental energy surges into her and sends her down. Light-headed, Bell tries to get up again but it's the poison that does it in for her for good as she finally rests her head against the ground in defeat:

Belldandy:0% KO'ed

That was a long but great fight. Both of you did well and it was a pleasure to ref
