2011 - Nuclear War
Long thought deceased super-power Russia brings threats of Nuclear war in 2008. The United States acts on stopping this and infiltrates, finding no weapons of mass destruction at all. They are forced to stop interveining into Russian life, although it is well known that Russia has weapons somewhere.
North Korea stands by Russia and a third world war seems to be on the production, however, all thoughts of a war resembling the first and second are dimished as Russia fires the first nuclear missile in 2011.
The bomb strikes in the District of Columbia, leaving the white house destroyed, along with all former traces of a leader. The rest of the world bands together as the United States strike back with their own nuclear arms-- striking both Russia and North Korea.
Retaliation occurs and does not stop until the whole world is seemingly destroyed, mutants are rampant everywhere, and humanity is left with little that are not deviations. These few band together and leave the planet alone, taking the advanced space technology that had just in the few previous years heightened to unimaginable sizes.
2886 - Mid-way Industrial Era on Second Earth
A planet similar to earth was found outside of the Milky Way. The planet appeared to heed no life, and was in Pangaea format, like the first earth formerly had been. Life started like it had in the medieval ages, being able to find no fuel to make cars, and electricity being very miniscule-- relying heavily on wind power to create it primarily.
The year 2886, deviants are begining to become more and more apparent, it seems the mutations skipped a few generations and are now plaguing man. Many deviations, or mutants as they are referred to, are not all that bad-- but others are born savage killers, with a lust for the taste of human flesh.
Those that are born with a lust for human flesh become cannibalistic by nature, and in most cases, the problem does not surface until puberty is reached-- making it impossible for cases of the problem to be determined at birth.
These strange beings are named Pestilentials, a synonym for accursed, as they are cast out by the religious of the towns, and those that are not killed live their lives in the forests alone.
2888 - Of Pestilentials
The current situation of life seems condemned. A very large town was attacked by the Pestilentials, of whom normally only attack one by one. The grouping of them was devastating to humanity, destroying nearly all life within the large town-- the sad thing is that-- nobody knows of this towns defeat since their are no telephones, no nothing.
The remaining humans band together now, they have to get out to warn others, but to get there they'll swim through a sea of differant forms of deviations...
Verdict
You are one of these people. The story will start during the large attack on the main town, you are a citizen of this town, and luckily one of the survivors-- of which are few. Weaponry is limited, since it's only the industrial age, so the firearms are single-shot rifles that can carry a maximum clip of eight, and pistols that carry the same clip and fire faster, but are weaker.
Because of this, weapons used in melee encounters are used quite a bit.
The deviations come in many differant forms that range from zombie-like beings, to those that suck the energy from your body. The most common deviations have been put together in a tome for all to recognize, however, many new deviations are being discovered daily.
Pestilentials
Named as they seem to be the common denominator of deviation, the "thug" type that there are many of. They are generally slow moving, generally stupid, but have a divine craving for flesh. Alone, they are easily dispatched, but in groups they seem to prove quite the foe. Appear to just be normal humans that have "rotted" so to speak, as their skin appears drawn back at the teeth and eyes. The most distinguishable factor is their lack of nose, it appearing to have rotted from their faces.
Screeching Widows
Named for their loud, soul-curdling scream. Screeching widow's are few, but all appear to be women. They run very fast, but are weak, and all are dispatched easily-- if they can be hit, that is. They are life stealers, and suck the life out of their victims with their elongated fingernails, of which are tainted black with sin. They are pale versions of actual women, wearing white dresses that are normally torn, their hair is also the color white, and normally tattered.
Abominations
Eight to ten feet tall on average, these beasts are huge, normally bearing quite large muscles. They walk like apes and move astonishingly fast. Fortunately, these are uncommon, even more so than Screeching Widows but when they are around, they normally cause a lot of damage. Appearing to take liking to broad swords, they often wield one in each hand-- posing as even more of a threat. They have no specialty about them, and don't even eat the flesh of humans, they just have a lust for stealing lives.
Blood hounds
Animals that have similar characteristics to that of a canine, they bear large fangs that instantly tense the victims muscles, leaving them helpless. They then devour their victims piece by piece, tearing chunks of meat at a time. They look similar to a large greyhound like dog, but appear heavily muscled and run at speeds similar to Screeching Widows.
Skorpions
Undead human-like in appearance, but bear a large tail that has a stinger on the end. The stinger has a deadly poison that after stinging the victim, leaves them blinded, as they begin to secreet puss from their eyes. Also, a victim of the sting will be immobilized for at least forty-eight hours if it is a small sting. These undead eat the living, also, run at a moderate speed, but are hard to dispatch because of their intense agility. Like to travel alone, and not in packs, so it is very rare that you will ever encounter more than one at any given time. They lay eggs in dark, dank places and often sting their victims and leave them near soon-to-hatch eggs, so their young will have something to feed on when they hatch. Not to be underestimated, weak at the tail-- aim for it.
Hellions
The last of commonly characterized deviations, Hellions share similar characteristics of those fabled as vampires. They can fly for short periods of time, run at an average speed, but possess a super strength. Dispatched with any weapon made of silver, unless unprepared, they are killed easily. They suck the blood of the living, and turn their victims into their own kind. Beware these, look for elongated ears, bony-looking faces, pitch-white skin, and reptillian-like wings.
Enlist
Name: First and last, middle is not necessary, but welcomed.
Age: In human years, if at all possible.
Sex: Male or female.
Occupation: Should be consistant to whatever items you happen to have, think medics, farmers, militia, such and such-- don't feel confined, jobs are aplenty. Just for the record, there is no military on the Second Earth, only militia, so there are no well-trained soldiers.
Appearance: Self explanatory.
Personality: Self explanatory.
History: Self explanatory.
Weaponry/Defenses: Single shot rifles that carry eight round clips at most, think around the first Lee Enfields, can be equipped with a make-shift scope, but this occurance isn't too often. Pistols are around, eight shot clip, consecutive shots. Also fit into this category is any armor you might have, once again, Industrial era.
Item Pack: This should be directly linked with your occupation. Farmers and such may have a loaf of bread or something, while medics might have a kit filled with necessities of first aid. Once again, not too much, because whatever's in here you're carrying with you everywhere. A backpack is the most you can have to fit this stuff in.
Other: Anything not listed above about your character that needs to be said should be placed here. Anything I forgot, also.
Remember, I have the right to reject any characters I find to be too strong-- have fun, my character will be up shortly.
Adieu,
Zak Hunter
