New Team

Hello all,

Soon I'll be starting with a ruby/sapphire-team, I hope. I'm trying to think of a team with these things in mind:

1) most used pokemon type is water. So, I need one or more water-killers
2) I like water-types...

Hence, the idea sofar is:

Milotec - elemental sweeper
Gyarados - good old physical sweeper
Mudkip - in my eyes, ground/water makes him not really a water-type. I mean, he's a good electric killer... Go figure :)
Kingdra - so few weaknesses... Not really a water-type - he can handle grass-types!

And then... I don't know. In the old pokegames, I'd chose Dragonite for sure. So I guess, I'll like salamence.

As for the last pokemon, I'd like to have a good water-killer. Something like Zapdos, who cannot be obtained untill the end of this year in Europe (Leaf Green, I think, or was it Fire Red?). Lanturn doesn't quite make it. Ampharos can't be obtained, can it? Do I really need one?

Few more things: my old tactics were using fighting against normal, flying (zapdos's Drill Peck!) against fighting...

So, er, what would you recommend?

You can get Ampharos if you have Colleseum for 'cube. Otherwise, use Ludicolo. It's 4x resistant to water and isn't weak to ice (which many water types tend to use).

* If the ability is Rain Dish, use these moves to have even more recovery! ;)
