    Default Electrode Moveset help

I was wondering, what's a good moveset for Electrode? I've currently gos Spark/Thunder
    Mirror Coat
    Lightscreen
    Explosion
    Abilitytatic.

    Any advice?

Lightscreen might prevent use of special attacks.. so it might not work well with mirror coat.. ah, I really don't know here. The only sure advice I can give here is to go with Thunderbolt, since Thunder usually proves a little too inaccurated without Rain Dance backing it up. If you've got Rain support elsewhere on the team, then Thunder would be okay. At any rate, Spark is not okay, since Thunderbolt is over 50% more effective.

    Default Electrode Moveset help

Well, Electrode will be a little better off in Fire Red/Leaf Green, when it can learn Thunder Wave. For now, go with something like...

    Thunderbolt
    Light Screen/Reflect/Mirror Coat
    Hidden Power Ice/Toxic
    Taunt/Explosion
    @Leftovers.

Electrode can't really do a whole lot of damage with Explosion without some kind of offensive help, such as getting a Swords Dance Baton Passed to it. Electrode has nice speed, but its rather limited movepool and low non-speed stats make it rather difficult to use.

I swear, no one used Taunt on Electrode until I pointed out its benefits... but oh well...

    Problems with electrode:
    Lack of Special Attack Power
    Lack of a good Movepool
Overuse of the Move Earthquake on Pokemon
    Dugtrio

With that said, electrode can still be quite good, An Electrode fully boosted in Speed, will likely be faster then a Dragon Dancer after one Dragon Dance, which is good... Electrode is very good vs Gyarados obviously for this reason... and it can also take out Aerodactyl if you get a bit lucky...

    Moveset:
Thunderbolt/Thunder (the lack of power means you may have to chance using Thunder instead of Thunderbolt)
Taunt (I am a huge supporter of taunt on electrode, its faster the just about everything, and obvioulsy Taunt stops Substitute, and makes Blissey rather useless, you Taunt it(the taunt lasts 2 turns), switch in to a powerhouse, and then blissey runs scared...
Explosion (this is important, because of Dugtrio, which has arena trap... if they switch into dugtrio, Explode, even with electrodes fairly poor attack stat, it should KO Dugtrio with you)
Light Screen/Mirror Coat/Thunder Wave/Toxic/Hidden Power (Ice/Grass) (a Utility move of your choice, Toxic seems to be a good choice because you can Taunt, if they switch out, you can then Toxic during the switch...)

All in all, electrode isnt terrible, and it beats a bunch of standards like Gyarados and Aerodactyl which is always good... you just need to be careful when using it, Electrode for this reason is a pokemon probably only to be used by Highly Advanced Battlers...

Ok, well now I'm concidering using Raichu instead. Are there any other electric pokes that are worth it other than Manetric?

Lanturn goes alright. Has the big advantage over most Electrics of having a good selection of special attacks that give good coverage. One of the standard sets is:

    Rain Dance
    Surf
    Thunder
    Ice Beam
    rinku

    I like Light Ball Pikachu:

    @Light Ball
    -Thunderbolt
    -Thunder Wave
    -Hidden Power (ICE)
    -Sweet Kiss

I use SK in the last slot, but I've seen a lot of other fillers such as substitute and Reflect. HP ice can OHKO a Salamence that's been sent in to Equake it. That's why I use it mainly. It's strong, fast, and can hold it's own. Go 252 EV's in Sp. Atk. and Spd. 6 wherever you want em. Mine are in HP.

I'd guess 202 cause he didn't even have Thunder Wave in his original M/S. If it is 386 others could be: Jolteon, Zapdos, Raikou, Ampharos, and Electabuzz.

Light Ball Pikachu, Lanturn, and Magneton are pretty much the electrics to go for in 200 play. Pikachu is a better high-powered special attacker than Manectric, Lanturn has tankish qualities and Magneton has Magnet Pull for Skarmory and weakened Metagrosses.

By the way, Pikachu ought to have Encore and Protect in 200 mode.

Yeah, it took me forever! I think I spent about 5 days tryin, and had to go through 24 pikachus before the 25th was holdin a Light Ball. I've heard I was very lucky to have even gotten it that soon! Though it may take FOREVER, it's well worth the wait. Trust me.

I got my Light Ball on the first Pikachu I met and caught in the Safari Zone, now I call that very lucky. The unluckiness I have is never being able to find a Shiny Pokemon in the wild. The Light Ball isn't really worth it because it only doubles Pikachu's Special Attack. Pikachu is too weak to last long in a battle. Even with the Light Ball the best use it can make of Special Attacks is Thunderbolt and Hidden Power Water/Ice/Grass. That's if you're willing to breed or keep catching Pikachus to get a decent Hidden Power.

I think it's a fantastic pokemon w/the Light Ball. It's HP~Ice is strong enough to take down a Salamence w/one hit. I never see shiny pokes in the wild either. I feel your pain.

Don't give up on Electrode! It is extremely fast and you could just get a Modest Nature or Rash if you want more Sp.Atk. You could also add Evs. I am considering adding Light Screen on mine.

As far as survival goes, don't expect either of them to last very long at all. I guess Electrode can take a bit more than Pikachu can before going down, so he's the better one out of the 2 for lastability (but he's still horrible at it).
