How far in do i have to be to be able to trade Eggs to Emerald? Do I have to go to the daycare center first?

Once you get the national dex you can trade eggs to the game. That requires beating the Elite Four.

Beating the elite four is never really a challenge so it's not really that long. Although not having emerald I have no clue whether the elite four are any harder. But soon when I ge tit imported mwaha.

The new Champion using dual type Water Pokemon makes the Elite 4 a bit more challenging on Pokemon Emerald compared to Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire. Especially since I had just Blaziken and Ludicolo with no electric attacks to do decent damage.

Ludicolos can be really strong annoyers that can eliminate everything if used properly. Although shouldn't be too much trouble as I always choose Sceptile.
