Default Sailormoon real-life drama, anyone? [Discussion]

[color=chocolate][b][size=3] *Squeaks* I may not be a Sailormoon fan but here is one article from the local papers that caught my eyes.

To imagine Lindsay Lohan as a possible big- screen stretch, but it looks like things are going to get weirder.

The 20- year - old actress is slated to play anime character fanboys are excited at the thought of Lohan in a magical schoolgirl costume.

Japanese anime magazine Animage reported that Fox has acquired the film rights to the cartoon classic Sailor Moon, and that its executives want Joss Whedon to direct and Lohan to star.

Jennifer Garner will reportedly join the largely non- Asian cast as the main villain.
[b][size=3] It looks like the Americian audience would have something on their television programme list to look forward to if this plan goes through. Lohan, the teen star in Herbie Fully Loaded, will be the main attraction of this show.

I guess that she would be playing Moon and her rather large assets would come under scrutiny again. The other challenge that she might be facing would be the lesbian scenes, another factor which the anime is famous for. Is she going to accept the role should she know of the nature of her character?

Another surprising element is that they are looking into the possibility of having Ben Affleck's wife playing as the villian! With this much big names in the film cast, would the show be a success? And who do you dudes think will play the role of Jupiter, Pluto, Venus, Saturn and Mercury?

    Its fake

"Sailor Moon Movie News False (2006-04-25 15:11:20)
Several news sites have repeated a rumor that the latest issue of Animage reports Lindsay Lohan and Joss Whedon will be involved in a Fox produced live-action Sailor Moon movie. ANN has verified that neither the April nor May issue of Animage says any such thing. Joss Whedon is currently slated to direct the upcoming Wonder Woman movie, due out in 2007. No cast details for that film have been announced. "

Even if it had been true, more than likely they would have been more or less based on the Americanized version that most people in the states are more familiar with. Thus, mass name changes and all inappropriate material cut out/changed.

On that note, thank goodness it was false...

If it was true, see above.

Anyway, it's bad enough that they already have Sailor Moon Live Action in japan, and the last time I looked at anything related to it was also the first time I saw anything related to it. Pretty much explains it.

I know how much anime is popular in Japan an all, but seriously, they should keep anime to ANIMATION, the end.

On that report, I'm guessing somebody mistranslated the the article. After all, Wonder Woman isn't that far off from Sailor Moon, and knowing the japanese language, mistranslations are bound to arise, often creating really wacky after-effects (except in WWII, when it was reportedly said that a mistranslation led to the dropping of the A-bomb).
