Yeah, it's pretty much the same stuff as it was in RBY.
This is going to sound silly, but if you play a girl in FR/LG and go to Erika's Gym, do they still make a fuss over boys? I don't remeber their reactions in Crystal, but I was just curious, just like the old man who stands outside the gym trying to see in![]()

I've just reached Celadon Gym on FrLg during my Normal Monotype challenge. I'll tell you what everyone says out of boredom
I have to tell you about this gym. Only real ladies are allowed in here!
Oh, welcome. I was getting bored.
Look, look! See my Pokemon! I like the grass type. I like how they're easy to raise.
Pleased to meet you. My hobby is Pokemon training.
Hey! We don't like BUG- or FIRE- type Pokemon in here!
Welcome to Celadon Gym! You'd better not underestimate the nice ladies here.
...Weren't you peeking in here earlier?
That's all. Yay! I never recorded is a boy so I can't compare differences for youBut heh, there you have it x)
Working ;D
Yeah, they altered the dialogue from the original RBY so that it would fit either gender. "Only real ladies are allowed here" used to be "only girls are allowed", and "You'd better not underestimate the nice ladies here" used to be "You'd better not underestimate girl power" which I maintain is a far better line, despite the gender bias.
There's actually quite a few places in FR/LG where they changed the dialogue to my regret. For example: the Gamblers are now Gamers, which would work if they had changed the dialogue properly instead of just swapping words. "I'm a ramblin', gaming dude" does not work, and neither does "To live is to play games!" Also, there's a Fisherman on Route 12 who now says "Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy fishing. But it'd also be better if I had more work." Did nobody at Nintendo of America understand the joke they themselves made when they had a Fisher say "I'd rather be working!" !? Clods!

There aren't many changes, if at all, whether you play with the guy or the girl. In no game...
This leads to some scary, yet "interesting" dialogues, such as "I'll go take a dip in the hot springs. Want to join me?" (A girl says it, and she says it even if you're a girl.) or "Trick Master I love!"
There's a dialogue I remember. The guy that sells you the Magikarp in Route 4's Pokémon Center says the same things he said in RBY if you're a guy. If you're a girl, though, he'll say "Wow! You're such a beauty! Let me offer you something nice!" or something around those lines.
