Ok I'd like to sign up. I always wanted to battle TBA, and MH our last match was kinda long ago no?
So now we all have players with nickname theme's ^^
kk. So, two teams of two, each battler can use two pokemon, one out at a time, i.e.
Person A = Gengar Person C = Blastoise
Person B = Salamence v.s. Person D = Aggron
Blastoise gets KOd. So then Person C sends out his second pogey.
in terms of banned moves, id like to ban the normal cheap moves as well as Toxic.
Pogeys of all forms are allowed, so if one of the Mods wants to bring in a Charizard or something, be my guest.
My Team chooses first, attacks second. The Arena will be a small, grassy outcrop in New Zealand, hanging over the sea and a large rock getty. Falling off the edge will result in 8% damage. The magical cotton candy clouds can also be used as platforms, and will not fail to hold any pokemon's weight. Falling from one of them will result in having the faller lose on action during their next turn, as well as recieve 5% damage.

MH please specify exactly which moves you do not want banned. 'normal cheap moves' is not specific enough. People have very differing opinions on what cheap is.

I'm looking forward to this, but finding a ref will be hard
Also for Music, I'm requesting: 'Moby Dick' - Led Zeppelin, or you guys don't agree 'War Pigs' - Black Sabbath
I can go with Moby Dick, and I'm choosing to release my Exeggutor [m] Akon, first. Also, byt normal cheap moves i meant direct healing, pain split, destiny bond..the usual kind of stuff.
Edit: this is looking to be an intense match!
Oh, I'll fill up the last spot. ^^ Looks fun.

Very cool, ill post this in the reffing tower, so if anyone's looking for an unusual match they can join in as a ref.
So, TBA needs to send out next, then MLG and SP, or SP and MLG, whatever they see fit.
I'll choose before MLG, I guess. ^_^

Right-o, I'll be using my male Exeggutor, Numeron!
Also, MH, by the new rules, you need to specify exactly what moves are banned. May I suggest Toxic, Substitute, Attract, direct recovery, Perish Song, Pain Split, and one hit KOs?
I'll use my male Growlithe, Cal. (I'm guessing me and MLG will give out orders once both Pokémon are sent out. ^^)

Yeah the Banned moves are fine.
I choose Hades my male Gengar!
Yeah thats fine TBA, just include Destiny Bond too. Oooh, a Drew Pogey. This should be interesting. And yeesh! A Growlithe! Crunch and Flamethrower! W/e, you guys attack first ^^. I guess SP will post actions first, right?
This is exactly what I was talking about in the News 'usual kind of stuff' is NOT specific! If you want to ban moves mention every.single.one. Is Attract cheap? Is toxic? You tell me. I'm asking this simply so someone doesn't whine because the ref lets such and such attack be used and you squabble over moves.Originally Posted by Mega Horny

Sorry, thats what everyone seemed to do back before I left. Anyway, the list TBA posted as well as Destiny Bond is fine by me.
Yea people do that but I cant check every battle. I'm sick of people saying "yea ban those cheap moves" after there was a few arguments about how to define cheap.
In future mention every move you want banned.

All right, Cal, looks like we're up first. I'd like you to start with a Safeguard to cover you and Gengar from negative status elements. Next, run towards them and use Flamewheel on Akon (Mega Horney's Exeggutor); however, if Gengar needs to attack first (such as to break a possible Light Screen with Brick Break) let him go first and follow up with yours. Follow up with a Flamethrower on Akon. The leaves on the top of his head look mighty flammable.

Alrighty Hades, arise from your tempel of doom and destroy those who opose you!
Ok, we're facing two Exeggutor. That means 12 eyes. Damn.
Hades start off by setting up a Sunny Day to boost Cal's attacks and your own. Then use Fire punch on Numeron twice.
Oh crap. Im sorry, i forgot to post that it was two moves, i was so used to multis like that i didnt think =/
But thats my mistake, so i guess ill just have to play along, i cant make you guys redo your moves.
K so Akon, lets begin by wishing while they do their stuff, and then teleporting behind Growlithe's back at the last second, hopefully sending the two pokemon's attacks into each other. Finally, use psychic to throw Growlithe into Gengar, who i suspect might also be hurtling towards Grolwlithe at the same time.

BATTLE!
In the sunny locale of New Zealand, 4 trainers, 2 at each opposing end, find themselves rearing for a battle. The challenge is set, a 2 on 2 tag match, and as the referee in green appears, the teams begin sending out their pokemon. First is team MegaBlue, who release two pokeballs to reveal a couple of trees....Exeggutors! Without even flinching at the pokemon brothers, Team SaffireLove releases two pokemon of their own, a haunting purple ghost, Hades the Gengar, and as can be expected, the fire type Growlithe, named Cal. The referee waves a green flag, and the trainers issue their orders...the battle is underway!
Team SaffireLove takes a cautious opening...Cal beggining to form a thin "veil" surrounding his team, protecting them from any status inflictions that might come their way. Hades stares up into the sky, willing all clouds out of sight, causing the sun to blaze through, adding a boost to any fire attacks. (-2% Energy Cal, -2% Energy Hades) Looking at the two exeggutor, they are also staring at the sky...wishing theirhearts contentment to the non-starry skies. They move into a trance-like state, and gain a small energy boost (+3% Energy Akon and Numeron)
Cal then begins to encircle his body with flames, bringing the heat on Akon, who has suddenly dissapeared!? Without his target, the little dog pokemon doesnt have a target...so his attack ceases.(-3% Energy Cal, -1% Energy Akon). Unfortunately for Hades, he is dealt the same fate, as he gathers fireenergy into his hand, and lunges forward trying to attack Numeron, who vanishes post-haste, causing the gengar to have wasted his attack.(-2% Energy Hades, -1% Energy Numeron)
Confused, Cal turns around to find his opponent and intended target behind him. He builds up some fire energy and launches a blaze of flames at the exeggutor, and as he does so, he is sent hurlting back by a psychic attack. The attack does not stop several flames from licking the Exeggutor, however, and he begins to run wildly trying to put out several of his leaves that have caught fire. The flying growlithe happens to smack into his partner, who tried another fire punch on Numeron, but was sent hurtling back before he could reach his destination. (-3% Health Cal and Hades, -2% Health Akon, -2% Energy Akon and Numeron, -2% Energy Hades, -3% Energy Cal)
As the round comes to a close, we find Numeron standing over the forms of Cal and Hades on the ground, while his partner runs around wildly trying to put out his flaming leaves...

*raises hand*
Can Cal technically "bump" into Hades or Hades being on top of Cal and all that, since Gengar is...well...a ghost and transparantish since he can avoid normal-type attacks because they go right through him? Would the whole "throwing" thing be the same principal, having Cal go "through" him instead of "into" him?

Seeing as he weighs around 80 lbs, I would think so. If MLG had specifically told him to phase thorugh as a sub it would have worked...
While Gengar may be immune to normal attacks yes, he does still have a physical form, and being that he was being held and thrown by psychic energy, i doubt he technically would have the time or energy to actually "phase" to the point where Cal would pass through him...
As far as him being under the gengar, you shouldnt worry too much about that, as getting up off the ground doesnt waste an action...

Alrighty Akon, lets start off by rolling out, hopefully dousing the fire and damaging both opponents. Even if the fire doesnt go out right away, theyll get hit with a fireball. Then, finish up with a psychic on Growlithe.

(I wasn't sure if I or Ghosts was supposed to post next. I guess it doesn't matter.)
All righty, Cal, lets go underground shall we? Use Dig to invade those barrages and roll outs! Dig underneath BlueAvenger's Exeggutor, Numeron and dig a hole upwards until you make a hole underneath his legs -- don't come through the hole, though. Instead, royally roast the Exeggutor through that hole with Flamethrower twice.

Sorry I was away to a festival (it was great, I saw Tool, RHCP, The Who, etc...) and I forgot to post in the Absence tower, my apologies.
Ok Hades launch a Hypnosis to Akon before he can attack, your superior speed will make this work, I hope. Then fire a Firepunch towards Akon to increase the fire and let him burn. Then use Dreameater when still asleep, Shadowball if not.
Hypnosis (Akon) - Firepunch (Akon) - Dreameater (Akon) / Shadowball (Akon)
Who's this Akon you speak of? Oh, you mean Fruit Golem
But its cool, and thats awesome! Send me a PM about the concert!
Now, before i ref this, i have something to clarify with SaffirePersian.....just so's ya know, dig is typically a 2 part move, 1 action going down, 1 going up....therefore, if you intended to hit him from below with a flamethrower directly under him, it'd either be a combo for the end of the round of Dig Up/Flamethrower, or you could hit him coming out, and then flamethorwer under him....but before im able to ref this, ill need clarification on your part.

I'm sure I read it here somewhere, but I think it states that usual two turn moves are only counted as one here. o.0' Could anybody clarify? *Will go post in Move-List tower for clarification*Now, before i ref this, i have something to clarify with SaffirePersian.....just so's ya know, dig is typically a 2 part move, 1 action going down, 1 going up....therefore, if you intended to hit him from below with a flamethrower directly under him, it'd either be a combo for the end of the round of Dig Up/Flamethrower, or you could hit him coming out, and then flamethorwer under him....but before im able to ref this, ill need clarification on your part.
Edit It's reffed both ways, 1 turn or 2. If you want to Ref it two, I just want him to dig underground in the first turn, and dig right below the Exeggutor. I don't want him to pop out, just dig out a hole under him (not fully so that the Tree-thing would fall in, just enough for there to be a hole underneath wide enough for the flames could easily come through), and use Flamethrower while in that hole. The dog doesn't have to come out of the hole, he can stay under there instead of popping up as per usual and send a flamethrower through that hole to hit the Exeggutor.

BATTLE!
And we are off to the beggining of what I hope to be an exciting second round. This ref is already shaking with the action from the last round. Hades starts us off by getting up off his partner and sending hypnotic waves at Fruit Golem(thanks for the name change btw....at least its better than name AND appearence changing half-way through a battle(had that happen before)). Though some waves reach the exxegutor, we are uncertain whether the really afect him, because he begins spinning, trying to attack and douse the flames. Soon though, we realize that indeed, he did get hit with enough of the waves to actually sleep, because he stops spinning, and comes to a halt, asleep, but at least it seems the fire is out. (-1% Energy Fruit Golem and Hades) Cal doesnt really seem to mind having been under his partner though, or under anything for that matter, as he immediately begins to dig underground, avoiding any type of harm and positioning himself under Numeron. (-2% Energy Cal)
Now Numeron decides is his time to attack....but whom? There is nobody to attack, as cal is gone. Nonetheless, he sends forth a combination attack of barrage and egg bomb, hoping to bombard the now nonexistant opponent. His opponent soon reveals himself, however, as a mass deluge of flames comes up from under him, causing the exxegutor incredible pain. (-8% Health Numeron, -5% Energy Numeron, -3% Energy Cal) Even fruit golem is defensless as he rests, so Hades charges him, building powered-up fire energy in his hand and smashes into the exxegutor, causeing him immense pain, which also causes him to wake up. (-6% Health Fruit Golem, -3% Energy Hades)Now both Exxegutor's are flaming heaps....
Realing heavily from the last blow, Numeron focuses his attention to try and psychically lift the gengar, but he is hit from under by yet another blast of flames, causing even more damage, and causing him to drop Hades. (-7% Health Numeron, -2% Energy Numeron, -3% Energy Cal) Now free, Hades can focus on the now awake Fruit Golem, who is trying to focus his power on a nonexistant enemy....there may be several holes, but there is no growlithe. He is instead hit by a ball of ghastly energy, ending him back some. (-4% Health Fruit Golem, -3% Energy Hades) The round comes to an end quite the opposite of the last, with the exxegutors feeling the effects instead of the other two.

You seem to put low damage up. Shadowball only did 4% damage, for a STABbed AND supereffective attack. And very little energy costs. Psychic should take atleast 7% energy IMO. No?
Energy is the most variable part of reffing. Chances are its been lowered so that the match doesnt last 3 rounds and everyone whines.

Yeah, but after two rounds both Exeggutors have 98 or 97 HP? Even after a Psychic, isn't this just blah? Still, thanks GL for reffing and all.
Anyway, Double Team, Firepunch(Fruit Golem) then Confuse Ray towards Fruit Golem. Taunt when they try status inflictions.
All right, Cal, Dig to a new location, under an Exeggutor would great, but if you can't manage it, Dig where you can. Again, make yourself a small hole in the soil above, and if you manage to get under an Exeggutor, send a Flamethrower through it followed by another Flamethrower. I don't care which Exeggutor you chose.
However, if you don't come up under one, stick your head out of the hole, then, and use Heat Wave on both opponents. If any attacks are coming at you (like a Rollout) duck into the hole for cover. If you have an action left, use Secret Power on one of the Exeggutor. Doesn't matter which, just chose one.
Cal (Growlithe, Male) Dig ~ Flamethrower/Heatwave ~ Flamethrower/Secret Power.
If the Dig takes up two actions, just use the Flamethrower/Heatwave order.
