Do we have to choose both pokemon before the match? Or do we PM our first choice and then choose the second later?
But either way, I've got one more match, so I'll take you on. Don't have any evolved pokemon, so that solves that problem![]()
Yo, folks!
Blademaster here.
I just finished my first battle with Ace64, and though he and his Scyther beat me, I gotta say, I had a lot of fun! This ASB stuff is way better and more realistic than in the video games!
So, needless to say, I'm itching for another fight. Or two - I can have a maximum of 3 at once, right? Well, this'll be #2!
I'm calling out anyone who's looking to battle, under these conditions:
1. It'll be a 2-on-2 fight, 1 Poke at a time, if you please.
2. Basic Pokemon only - mine haven't evolved yet. Evolutions and non-Evos don't count, UNLESS said non-Evo is part of another line without evolving to/from something else. By this I mean Pokemon like Shedinja and... well, that's all I can think of... :p
3. There will be no move limitations - I hate the YGO Ban Lists limiting my options; I don't need it here, too.
4. Please don't battle me if you're an expert - I don't need for my second ASB to be with RaZoR LeAf or Chris 2.0, I don't!
5. DQ: 5 days
6. Place: The Celadon Junkyard, full of a little of everything, makines for a fully-interactive arena.
7. Referees of any level are welcome to ref.
8. PM both Pokes to the ref, so type advantage doesn't become an issue.
9. Challenger sends out first; I'll attack first.
If you can accept these conditions, than meet me here, and let the fun begin!
-Blade
Edit: You can have four matches in ASB at any one time - Chris 2.0

OK, EXE, then all we need is a ref...
And I'm picking both Pokes before the match simply because my Beldum and Magikarp can't really battle, which leaves me with only 2 Pokes; once I pick 1, the other will automatically be decided, anyway. But you can do what you want.
...
Um, any refs available?
Anyone?
Hahaha! *dive in with a jetpack*
If you guys don't mind, I can ref this for you guys.
Please take it easy~
(sighs in relief)
Oy, Faiz, you're a lifesaver.
Nice entrance, too.
I'll send you my options in a little while.
All right guys, here I am!

Prebattle
The Celadon City junkyard…you think that a place this ugly and smelly would hold no life… but here we are today, watching to creature in the middle of the self-made arena.
No, this isn’t Pokemon Planet, this is ASB!!!
Here we see two trainer; Blademaster, an ASBer who so far had only a record of one loss VS Elec Man EXE, a trainer whose name suggested he loves electricity.
Then we have darktyranitar as the referee… hold on, where is he? Is he having a date with Erika, the gym leader of Celadon City? Or could he be… Ah, there he is, recovering from his falling impact earlier due to the malfunction on his jetpack. Both trainer sweatdropped a bit from the peculiar action of the ref, but quickly turn their attention towards the arena as the ref motioned them to start the match.
Both trainers threw their Poke Ball at the same time, not wanting their opponent to have the type advantage.
Standing in the middle of the ring is Tsunami, the male Surskit, and Phoebe, a female Ralts.
Both trainers stared at their Pokemon, and they then called for their Pokemon to attack.

Alright Tsunami, lets do it.
I see that that little Ralts is trying to escape from you... don't let it. Use Mimic to allow yourself to teleport right along with her. If possible, try to teleport behind her so she still thinks that she managed to evade you.
Then, while she calms herself, use a Shadow Ball at full power.
And finally, use Psyche Up to get yourself a nice special attack boost as well.

Phoebe, the female Ralts starts her move. She looked to the far side of the junkyard, and with a cry of her name, she instantly vanished… to the far side of the junkyard. Tsunami, the male Surskit, was not deterred. He managed to catch a glimpse at the Teleport attack, and mimicking the Ralt’s earlier action, he also managed to teleport, and he was now face to face with Phoebe. Now, they can only rely on the commands their trainer gave earlier.
Phoebe, instead of shocked, was now sitting with her leg crossed on the ground. Ignoring everything around her, she summoned her inner power, bringing a total calmness to her, raising her special attack a bit.
Tsunami showed no remorse. In an instant, he produced upon a ball of dark energy within his mouth. When he was sure he couldn’t make the ball any bigger, it was thrown towards the meditating Ralts.
BOOM!
Phoebe was still in her current position, but she seemed to be hurt and shocked by now (8% damage). Thanks to her Calm Mind, she found that the attack hurt her less than it would normally do to her.
Phoebe began to produce a mauve shield upon her, while Tsunami was probing into her mind, copying her special attack stats. Both Pokemon gave a sigh of relief, as both of their attack was working well.

Phoebe and Tsunami got into a staring contest, beckoning for each other to attack.
Tsunami made the first attack, moving really fast that it seems no attack Phoebe launch would hit her. But wait! Sparks of electricity began to form in Phoebe’s little hand. The attack was launched off, appearing to be an electric version of Swift. Too bad for Tsunami, he was zapped by the lightning bolt (8% damage).
Next up, Phoebe began to set up a silver shield in front of her already made Reflect. Tsunami then launched a water gun, which was laced with supersonic waves in it towards the Ralts. The attack hit right on the target (7% damage). Had it not for the Safeguard, Phoebe would surely be struck with confusion.
Tsunami quickly fired a beam of ice towards Phoebe, forgetting about the reflective barrier. The attack reflected back towards Tsunami (5% damage). Phoebe, unharmed by the beam, launched the electric-swift attack again towards Tsunami (8% damage)

Actually, Faiz, Reflect doesn't block Special Attacks - just Physical ones. Calm Mind, on the other hand, can repel some damage from Special Attacks.
Anyway...

OK, Phoebs, start the round off with Taunt to cut off that Surskit's defenses, and then use a Thunder Wave to cut down its mobility! Finish up with another Shock Wave to weaken it more, and we'll call it a turn.
Move: Taunt, Thunder Wave, Shock Wave
Nah, read the attack list, Reflect is dual-use. Cuts down momentum, weakening physical attacks, but can also reflect beams.
Anyway...
Not too bad Tsunami. It seems that Ralts has Taunt and Torment confused, and that works well for us.
First off, use your Mimic'd Teleport (it lasts for the entire battle, yes?) to get high above Phoebe.
After you do that, as you fall toward her, quickly fire off your best Hydro Pump straight down on her. If she's attempting to use Thunder Wave, the rushing water will probably backfire the attack to her instead. Anyway, keep using Hydro Pump to slow your fall and land gracefully on the ground (try to land behind her).
Next, take a look around the arena. See if you are nearby any of the piles of junk. If so, I want you to use a Quick Attack to knock Phoebe into one of the stacks (She's light, so it shouldn't be hard to knock her around), which will hopefully fall on top of her and do further damage. Use your speed from the attack to avoid getting hit by the falling stack yourself.
If there isn't any junk nearby, then try and use Mud Shot on Phoebe as she charges electricity. Try to hit the electricity, and hopefully the mud will absorb or weaken the electricity and still do some damage as well.\

Phoebe started off by jeering out her tongue, saying nasty things about Tsunami. The Surskit was angered, and with a flash she disappeared- only to reappear high above Phoebe.
Phoebe’s hands glowed yellow, and in a moment electricity sparked between them. But just as she fired the electric waves towards Tsunami, high-pressured water rushed out from him, and ultimately it absorbed the electric wave. Soon, the jets of water plummeted down on Phoebe (12% damage). Not only that it had drenched her, but it also acted as a slowing method to Tsunami’s fall. He landed gracefully behind Phoebe.
Phoebe, wet from her hair down to her feet, began to charge for the electric swift attack again. Tsunami then looked around, and he soon spotted a chance to foil the attack.
Quickly, she picked a few handful of mud from the wet ground and hurled it towards Phoebe (4% damage). Not only the mud blinded her, but her control on Shockwave was also weakened. She began to rub her eyes with her hand, but not before she let go of the Shockwave, which despite of the Mud Slap from Tsunami, went and hit him square on his face, although a bit weaken due to the mud (7% damage).

Great job Tsunami. Lets keep it up.
Start off with a Quick Attack. Hit Phoebe, and then get away from the wet ground so that she can't use it to amplify her electric attacks.
Next, use Ice Beam on the ground. It should freeze the water, which will make it hard for Phoebe to move around.
And finish with Icy Wind. Maybe the wind in combination with the slick ground will cause some extra trouble for the little Ralts.
In case of Double Team on turn 1, use Swift and then get away from the water.

The two Pokemon, Tsunami and Phoebe began to charge up their power fast. Tsunami rushed forwards for a Quick Attack, while Phoebe, quite interestingly used Psychic towards the water on the ground to create an artificial Hydro Pump. Tsunami struck Phoebe (8% damage), but as he was retreating back, a high-pressurized jet of water hit him right across his small body, sending him flying towards a heap of junk (15% damage, added damage due to trash that fell on him). How very interesting… this was what he had expected to do to Phoebe in the last turn…
Undeterred, he fired off a beam of ice towards what was left of the water on the ground. Instantly, the ground turned into a slippery ice floor. But wait! Phoebe once again fired the electric swift towards him… So what? The ground is not wet, he thought to himself.
He had forgotten… he was soaked from head to toe! The shock was stronger this time, due to the water on him that acted as a conductor (12% damage).
But no, Tsunami was not deterred. Using the advantage of the icy floor, he fired off a gust of ice towards Phoebe, encasing her with thin layers of ice (8% damage). The Ralts stared at him intensely (one could tell what she was doing, even if her eyes were hidden). Tsunami then dropped down due to the psychic force (8% damage). And what was worse, the world around her started to spin. He was in a state of confusion!

Uh, no Mimic CAN last all the battle (Till the Pokemon gets Koed or recalled) it's really just up to the ref really. I personally think mimic lasts the entire battle. So saying it only lasts 1 round is incorrect. It's ref's decison, and if it is only 1 round, it's a worthless sacrifice.
In Ash's battle vs... eh, someone... in the anime (Grovyle vs Walrein)... Walrien Mimic'd Quick Attack and continued using it for the rest of the battle.

Way to go, Phoebe!
Hmmm... Phoebe looks kinda chilly... Use Sunny Day to melt the ice and dry off, OK Phoebs? Then use Shadow Ball to really warp that Surskit's world! After that, it'll probably be way too dizzy to attack, so you can just relax the rest of the round - you've earned a quick break.
If it does manage to attack, or if it uses a strong attack at any time, just Teleport away - it won't get another chance until the next round.
Move: Sunny Day, Shadow Ball, Relax

Ouch, bad round Tsunami. Comeback time though.
Let it use Sunny Day. Won't hurt us too badly, you've got attacks that can take advantage of it.
After that last round your probably pretty pissed at little Phoebe, eh? Lets use an Agility + Frustration combo. Usually, you'd just pummel her when using Frustration... but instead, I want you to use your speed to score a hit, then retreat to a different angle, move in, and attack again. Keep doing that, and on the last hit, use your speed and anger to slam her into the junk.
Then, while she tries to pull herself out of the junk heap, take advantage of the sun and use a powerful Solar Beam. Make sure you use it while she's distracted with freeing herself from the junk, so she doesn't have a chance to Teleport. With any luck, the beam will force her back into the junk heap, doing even more damage.

Phoebe, this is the oppurtunity we've been waiting for. You may be a bit stuck in that junk pile, but your Psychic powers aren't! Get in its head and use Hypnosis, and then use Dream Eater to sap its strength and restore some of yours. It should be weak enough to defeat after that, so finish it up with another Shadow Ball.
If for some reason Hypnosis doesn't work, then stay hidden and then use Psychic to hurl the junk pile your trapped in at it - with any luck, all that garbage will block its Giga Drain, at least a little. Come on, Phoebs - mind over matter! After that, you should be safe, so relax; if it does manage an attack, Teleport instead.

OK, Phoebs, we're fighting a Ghost now, so your regular attacks aren't gonna work. Instead, use Thunder Wave to slow it down, and then use Shadow Ball to dish out some damage to it. End with a Future Sight.
In case it uses a super-effective move, Teleport as far away from it as you can.
Move: Thunder Wave, Shadow Ball, Future Sight
Sub: Teleport
Nice job Tsunami, you got it weak enough for Deimos to finish the job.
*returns the little Surskit*
Alrighty Deimos, easy peasy.
She's been ordered the use of Teleport in case of a Super-Effective strike. Lets use that against her. Utilize the darkness and attack with Pursuit. Its a Dark-Type move, so she'll have to use Teleport because its super effective. But Pursuit will chase her down and deal bonus damage because she's trying to escape from you and is therefore vulnerable.
Now, if she's not KO'd, I doubt she'll fall for that ruse again. She should be pretty weak though, so use Psychic quickly pummel her with junk before she has a chance to launch her Shadow Ball at you. If she was KO'd by your first attack, then just relax the rest of the round so you'll be in top shape for the next pokemon.
If she has somehow managed to avoid getting KO'd at this point, then a quick Ice Beam oughta finish her off. And once again, if she's already been KO'd, just relax.
Pursuit ~ Psychic / Relax ~ Ice Beam / Relax
Master of ElectricityCredits for the awesome banner go to Saffire Persian
...?
Doesn't Pursuit only deal extra damage when switching Pokemon?
Depends on the ref... if its done by game standards, then yes, it only gets a bonus from a switch. But I think it makes more sense to use the ASB Attack List version, especially since a switch in ASB means your pokemon gets KO'd anyway (unless its Baton Passed).
Pursuit: The user glows black and quickly chases down a target very quickly. It is virtually impossible to escape by fleeing; the dark glow will briefly grant surprising powers of locomotion and resistance. Flying, diving underwater, digging underground, teleportation, returning to a pokéball, Baton Passing… None of these help much to evade Pursuit. The user will levitate, swim, burrow, or phase to intercept the fleeing victim and tear into it with a flurry or claws, bites, or whatever is appropriate to the species. As long as the dark glow persists (typically until the target is caught), the user will be highly resistant to environmental effects, so even hiding in lava or in an airless void (to name a couple examples) is not proof against Pursuit (although the user must figure out a way to cope with the environment after reaching the target, and options may not be forthcoming). Transportive abilities, particularly Baton Passing and Teleportation, leave the user particularly vulnerable to the dark energy that allows Pursuit, forcing them to take excellent damage and perhaps interrupting their retreat. Note that Pursuit cannot target something that has already sealed itself off with an impenetrable barrier, such as a successful Protect or six Barriers set up in a cube. Low damage. Excellent accuracy.

Seeing that Tsunami was knocked out, Elec Man EXE recalled his fallen Pokemon, and reached out for his next Pokemon, Deimos the Duskull.
“Dus,” the ghost Pokemon cried nonchalantly towards the worn down Ralts, who received praise from her trainer for beating the opponent’s Surskit. However, she quickly picked herself up at the sight of the Duskull.
Deimos’s body started to disappears… and Phoebe, seeing that it was a dark type attack, quickly teleported herself to safety. But as it was a Pursuit attack, her teleportation was quickly interrupted, and she received some decent damage (12% damage).
Phoeve began to charge up for a Shadow Ball, but Deimos quickly reacted by launching a Psychic assault on her (10% damage). The attack managed to knock out Phoebe, and as Blademater recalled her fallen Ralts, Deimos float around casually, regaining some lost energy.

Please take it easy~
A Torchic, eh? Not the greatest moveset, but it might try some tricks.
Ok Deimos, lets do it. Start off by using Future Sight to get a nice hit in whenever the opportunity arises.
After that, use Rain Dance to make the arena a bit less favorable for that little chicken.
And finally, use Leer to scare it a bit.
If at any time that Torchic tries to use Sunny Day, I want you to Imprison that attack.
Future Sight ~ Rain Dance ~ Leer
Sub: Imprison if Sunny Day used

Aw, Phoebe...
Poor girl. You did well.
(recalls Phoebe)
OK, Sandy, let's go!
(tosses Pokeball; Torchic pops out)
"Torchic!" it chirps, smiling warmly at Deimos.
Don't let your guard down, Sandy - that thing is dangerous!
It's Future Sight isn't gonna do any damage yet, so take this oppurtunity to gain an early lead: Fire Blast it! After that, use Swords Dance to pump up your strength, and then hit it with a Rock Slide and we'll leave it at that.
Move: Fire Blast, Swords Dance, Rock Slide
(I hope this works...)
