Since my match with MLG seems to be dead...I'll take you on, Jeff. Guess we PM the rest of the squad to a ref then.
I'll go with Airavata, my female Phanpy. Let's see what you can do.
Mkay, I'm looking to get some experience for the littler members of my team...
Rules
3 v 3, one out at a time
Pokemon allowed: basic or baby stage, must be able to evolve (so Pichu, Pikachu can battle, but Raichu cannot; Oddish can battle, but Gloom and Tangela cannot)
Banned moves: Perish Song, Toxic, Attract, Substitute, recovery (like Recover, not like Giga Drain)
DQ: 1 week
We PM our Pokemon to the ref, who then decides who attacks first
Arena: A Court of Law
The combatants do battle in a court of law to decide the fate of the defendant. This court is wide, accomodating most Pokemon. However, it is inside, so weather moves are ineffective, as are dirt- and body-of-water-based moves. However, ground-shaking moves will work, but at the same time, they'll cause the power to go out. The two lawyers in the room - one of whom is dressed in blue, wearing a red tie, and with spiky hair, the other wears a mauve suit with a cravat and neatly combed dark hair that hangs on either side of his face - will occasionally throw "OBJECTION!"s at each other, causing sound-based damage to one of the fighters if the judge sustains the objection. Also, straying too close to the lawyers or the judge will cause one of the lawyers to break out a "HOLD IT!", which freezes the Pokemon in place for an action. Finally, if one of the Pokemon incurs Damage Caps on the other, one of the lawyers will yell "TAKE THAT!", which restores a minimal amount of energy to the attacking Pokemon.
Eaferly awaiting a challenger and a ref. Thanks.

Ok then Slinky, this is a good match up. Fire off a Extrasensory to screw with Ridley's senses, then follow it up with a Psybeam. Finish with Future Sight.

Start by quickly burrowing underground to avoid the psychic attack. Resurface behind Slinky and latch onto him with a Crunch. Finally, while still latched on, give 'im a point-blank Flamethrower!
Dig ~ Crunch + Flamethrower

Round One: Begin!
A courtroom is a very somber and serious place, filled with concentrating jurors, nervous defendants, angry plaintiffs and volatile lawyers. To prevent things from getting too hairy several police officers stand around the room, protecting everyone present from the possibly dangerous defendant… or the possibly dangerous attorneys. Today is different, however. The jury is just so puzzled by all of the conflicting evidence presented that they just can’t agree on whether the defendant is guilty or innocent. And, because they were so totally stumped, they decided to have someone else decide for them… namely, TheBlueAvenger and Ace64, two good friends of the judge’s who were itching for a battle anyway. Depending on the victor of today’s heated battle, the defendant will either go free or get thrown into the slammer… now THIS is a real courtroom drama.
Ace takes his first Pokéball from his belt and flings it into the makeshift arena, releasing Slinky the female Spoink. TBA does likewise, bringing his shiny male Charmander, Ridley, out into his first battle ever. As soon as both trainers finish giving their orders Slinky springs into action (ha ha) and concentrates hard on a vicious Extrasensory attack. Ridley and TBA were apparently expecting this, however, because before Slinky can get a fix on her foe’s mind the little salamander bares his sharp claws and Digs into the ground… or, rather, tears up the nice marble flooring and leaves an ugly hole in it after exerting quite a lot of effort. With Ridley having vanished underground somewhere Slinky cannot complete her attack and has to wait and guess, disappointed, where the golden reptile will resurface.
Slinky does not have to wait long for Ridley to reappear. The floor shakes somewhat as the lizard tunnels beneath it, and then Ridley leaps up and prepares to Crunch into Slinky’s purple fur… Just before he can manage it, however, the prosecutor for the State of TPM stands up, brushes his dark hair out of his face and cries “OBJECTION! Charmander cannot learn the Crunch attack, Your Honor!” The loud shout startles both Pokémon but hits Ridley harder than Slinky, and he rubs his ears and winces as the judge agrees. The noise was loud enough to be painful, but at the very least Slinky is surprised enough that she is still caught off-guard when Ridley obeys to the best of his ability—he must use Bite instead of the Crunch that TBA had wanted. The little bouncing pig screams out in pain and nearly drops her pearl, but manages to collect herself despite the fire lizard latching onto her. The pearl glows with an eerie light and a Psybeam blasts out of it and hits Ridley square in the forehead. The shiny Charmander lets go and holds his head even tighter, whimpering from the double assault on his poor brain.
TBA had wanted Ridley to keep a tight hold on Slinky for facilitating an attack at point-blank range, but since the Psybeam has dislodged the Charmander Slinky is free to get started with her own attack. The Spoink begins to bounce in a steady rhythm; the constant pattern of springing tail and bouncing pearl helps her tap into visions of attacks yet to come, and she prepares a Future Sight that will come back to nail Ridley next round. Ridley, on the other hand, is upset that the lawyer has yelled at him and even more upset that his Bite-grip was shaken off. He allows the anger to boil up inside him until the flames are practically leaping from his half-open jaws; he then proceeds to open up wide and let a full-fledged Flamethrower loose. The stream of fire slams into Slinky and she squeals loudly as the flames lick her body.
The witnesses, jurors and bailiffs have almost completely forgotten about the trial now; they are too absorbed in the exciting Pokémon battle to worry about it. Even the defendant forgets—for just a moment—that his freedom hangs in the balance of this match, hoping and praying that his side will be victorious. The Spoink and the shiny Charmander retreat to their respective corners of the courtroom, waiting for Ace64 and TBA to come up with a new strategy for the second round. Ever critical, the judge and the two lawyers look on, ready to do what it takes so that the battle remains fair… or else swings in their favor…

Hm. I double-checked Serebii's and a few others, none of which mentioned Charmander being able to learn Crunch, even in Crystal. I wasn't aware that Psypoke had a Pokedex, though, so if that's more accurate then I'll check that next time. Sorry. Would you like me to fix that?
Uh, well, if really you don't mind then I won't change it, just because it would require just a teeny bit of annoying recalculation, as I'd either have to change the objection, its target or remove it, and then recalculate the damage for Crunch. But anyway, TBA, it's your move whenever you're ready.
Okey doke, Ridley, let's keep up the pace. Start things off with a powerful Dragon Claw. Next, keep up the claw attacks with Metal Claw. Finish with Slash. However, I want you to use Protect instead whenever Future Sight decides to hit.
Let's shine, Slink. Fire off a Confuse Ray- is Ridley really sure she wants to hit you, and not one of the lawyers?Follow up with Extrasensory to mess with her senses, and finish with a Psychic to blow her into judge's table. Keep her away, if you can. I doubt Ridley can Protect in time- even you don't know when that Future Sight will come- but if she does manage to stop it, use Calm Mind for that turn.

Round Two: Begin!
The drama in the courtroom is really starting to heat up as the battle between Ridley the shiny Charmander and Slinky the Spoink prepares to enter its second round. The prosecutor and the defense attorney are glaring daggers at one another and at the Pokémon that is against their side, perhaps hoping that it will do extra damage. Just as it looks like the evil-eye staring contest is going to break into a shouting match, the Honorable Judge Phoenixsong clears her throat and reminds them both to settle down—the trainers need silence as they finish debating which moves to use.
Having finally decided on his attacks for the round, TBA commands Ridley to slash at Slinky with a mighty Dragon Claw. Green flames swirl around the golden salamander’s talons as they slice into the Spoink’s side; Slinky lets out a horrible squeal that causes everyone present to cringe. She manages to bounce away from Ridley, gasping, and she concentrates hard. The pearl between her ears glows a brilliant white and begins to emit sparkling rays. Ridley makes the mistake of glancing at his opponent’s head and is instantly mesmerized by the hypnotic display. Mixed messages begin to swirl around Ridley’s brain: why is he attacking the adorable, cuddly, friendly little Spoink across the courtroom from him? What has she ever done to him? Why, if anyone is deserving of Ridley’s attacks it’s that idiot lawyer with the black hair and the tacky mauve suit who was dumb enough to say that he wasn’t allowed to use Crunch. And that Blaziken sitting in the judge’s seat with the powdered wig… she’s just as stupid for agreeing with the human fool. Ridley bumped them to the top of his mental hit list as Slinky sits back to lick her wounds and relax. Her Confuse Ray worked like a charm.
Ridley staggers a bit due to his confusion and sways dangerously close to the mauve-suited lawyer; he snarls menacingly at the man as he does so, but manages to focus on TBA’s orders. The little golden lizard would much rather use Metal Claw on the nasty man working for the prosecution than on cute, harmless little Slinky, but he has enough presence of mind not to ignore his trainer’s command. He draws back his claws and again sinks them into Slinky’s body. Slinky reels across the marble floor and stops, panting; the pain from the repeated slashes makes it difficult to concentrate on her next attack. She finally manages to pull herself together enough to get her pearl glowing again and blast an Extrasensory at Ridley, who is sent flying backwards himself.
Again the thought of sweet vengeance dances through Ridley’s tormented thoughts as he imagines clawing at the prosecutor and judge who dared call his trainer wrong; again TBA’s shouts temporarily snap him out of it and he pulls back for a third strike. Before he can land the Slash, however, an eerie howling fills the courtroom and a bright light sparkles over the head of the judge. Phoenixsong screams and dives out of the way in a manner most undignified for a judge, losing her wig in the process; her leap for safety was just in time to avoid a dimensional rift ripping open and letting a powerful Future Sight blast loose in the courtroom. Ridley has just enough presence of mind to throw up a Protective barrier, which successfully deflects the attack. Slinky and Ace64 pout, upset that their attack did not land a hit, resign themselves to playing support for the turn; the purple piglet takes a deep breath and relaxes, her Calm Mind heightening her offensive and defensive abilities. The salamander manages to crack a smile; if only the Future Sight had managed to nail the stupid judge. Then she would have been hurt and Slinky would have gotten in trouble.
The jury begins mumbling amongst themselves, intrigued by the court happenings; judging by the damage tally it looks as if the verdict is swinging in the defendant’s favor. Ridley continues to stagger and shake his head, still very confused and unsure whether he should be attacking Slinky, himself or maybe the evil judge; he pants slightly and his tail flame flickers with exhaustion. Slinky, meanwhile, is beginning to grow tired and sore herself, and as the Spoink bounces up and down she nurses her various bleeding cuts. TheBlueAvenger and Ace64 think hard about what to do next and Judge Phoenixsong climbs back up to her bench, muttering about careless Future Sight attacks and how she suspects that Ridley has it in for her.

Round Three: Begin!
The jury seems to have forgotten that they are in a courtroom; the twelve men and women are on their feet, cheering wildly for the battle to keep going. Judge Phoenixsong is slightly rattled by the fact that last round’s Future Sight nearly hit her, and the behavior of the jurors isn’t helping; she bangs her gavel as hard as she can, but no one seems to take notice. Ridley the shiny Charmander and Slinky the Spoink have just received their new orders and spring into action.
Slinky concentrates hard yet again, focusing her mind’s eye on Ridley’s throat. Her pearl flares brightly and she prepares to launch a Psychic at her adversary’s neck, hoping to suffocate him. Ridley staggers, his mind still a swirling mess thanks to Slinky’s earlier Confuse Ray. Still, he manages to gather himself just enough to use Double Team. His body vibrates rapidly, creating a golden shimmer on the courtroom floor, and by the time the light show stops three Ridleys now stand where there was once one. Slinky stops: which Ridley is her real target? Even the clones are staggering convincingly, all appearing to be confused. She has no choice but to guess and fires away… and hits! The blast of mental energy slams into Ridley’s throat and tightens around his windpipe. The Charmander lets out a garbled squawk and scrabbles at his neck, trying to fend off a strangler that isn’t there.
Slinky smiles as Ridley’s clones fade away and the squirming lizard drops to the ground, gasping for air. As her opponent tries to pick himself up her pearl gives off a dark aura; suddenly, every shadow in the courtroom seems drawn towards the bouncing piglet. The shadows rise up from the floor and form into a black ball between Slinky’s paws; with a loud squeal she shoots the Shadow Ball at Ridley. He cries out again as the shadows collide with his chest, finally dispersing and going back to their respecitve places. Ridley is in extreme pain at this point, and the strain of trying to aim his Flamethrower while confused and hurt finally proves too much. The Charmander simply can’t concentrate on TheBlueAvenger’s orders and lets a gout of flame loose from his jaws… straight at the black-haired prosecutor. After a few minutes of panicked attempts to put out his flaming designer suit the scorched lawyer shouts “HOLD IT! Your Honor, that idiotic little salamander attacked me! Penalize him!” The Honorable Judge Phoenixsong glares at Ridley and nods; the shiny Charmander is forbidden from attacking next action. Ridley only half understands what has happened in his dazed state, but he knows enough to realize that he has another reason to keep the judge and prosecutor at the top of his hit list.
Slinky is really enjoying herself now. Not only has the exhausted, gasping and confused Ridley failed to touch her or foil her plans this entire round, she has succeeded in getting the Charmander penalized. Now she can launch a second Psychic attack without fear of retribution. Again her pearl glows and again an invisible clamp seems to tighten around Ridley’s trachea; he’s powerless to fight it off and slumps to the ground after the attack finishes. The poor little salamander is in complete agony as the round draws to a close; the prosecutor, pleased with the amount of damage Slinky was able to do to her opponent in a single round, shouts a triumphant “TAKE THAT!” at the defense attorney. The smoking man manages a half-smile while Slinky beams, feeling ever-so-slightly more heartened by the praise.
The jury is cheering even more loudly now, excited by Slinky’s comeback; Judge Phoenixsong is on the verge of throwing her gavel at them. Ridley is fighting to keep himself on his feet due to a combination of pain, fatigue, lack of air, confusion and frustration. Even though the Spoink seems to have gained the upper hand in the battle at this point, she’s not feeling so hot either: she is really starting to feel the strain of repeated powerful attacks in a row, and her slash wounds still sting. All the same, the two young Pokémon do their best to listen to their trainers’ new orders, Ridley’s thoughts interrupted by gleeful images of the mauve-clad attorney dancing around behind his table, blazing brilliantly all the while. The lawyer in question has resumed his seat and simply sits there, scowling and smoldering.

Round Four: Begin!
Judge Phoenixsong has completely given up her attempts to keep order in her court: the jurors that were originally supposed to decide the fate of the defendant are now dancing, jumping and cheering out of control, generally behaving more like a crowd of 30,000 sports fans in a stadium than 12 well-respected men and women with an important legal decision in their hands. The defendant, well aware that his freedom and even his life are on the line, is not jumping around; he does, however, keep his eyes locked on the battling Slinky the Spoink and Ridley the shiny Charmander, hoping against hope that the battered and confused salamander pulls through for him. Ace64 and TheBlueAvenger both decide to try a slightly different tactic, and after the trainers display their knowledge of legalese and the case Slinky and Ridley have their commands.
Ridley is tired of his confusion causing him troubles and happily takes TBA’s suggestion that a Dragon Dance will clear his mind; even the thought of it makes him feel a little better. He takes a deep breath to get his windpipe working again and then shuts his eyes in order to keep out the distractions of the noisy courtroom, beginning to sway back and forth. The cheering jury, the hopeful defendant and defense lawyer, the obnoxious judge and prosecutor, that blasted purple porker Slinky… all of these finally stop their wild parade through Ridley’s troubled thoughts and fade away. All the Charmander can see now is a group of majestic-looking dragons that soars and wheels through the air, fiery roars giving him strength. While wrapped in this invigorating vision, however, Ridley fails to see the malicious twinkle in the eye of the “blasted purple porker”. Slinky’s pearl flashes in an all-too-familiar way and, with a loud cry, she reaches into Ridley’s mind and Snatches his heartening fantasy away. She smiles as the ancient dragons finish their dance for her and Ridley, torn rudely out of his trance, staggers. Ridley’s thoughts return to the present and his anger with his opponent doubles, but he has still managed to relax enough to properly clear his mind. Even with his new desire for vengeance on all who have ridiculed him here, Ridley at least has regained the sense to listen to TBA and leave the judge and prosecutor alone… for now.
A very angry golden salamander has just been cheated out of the strength of his mighty dragon ancestors and wants someone to pay for it. Preferably that someone would be Slinky the conniving little Spoink, and so Ridley lets her know of his rage, fury and general displeasure by leering at her with a very Scary Face. Ace and Slinky have anticipated the anger their Snatch would cause, though, and Slinky clamps her eyes shut so that Ridley’s terrible visage cannot be seen. She focuses her mind’s eye on where she knows the snarling Charmander still stands and blasts a nasty Shock Wave at him from her pearl. Unfortunately the electrical surge never fails to strike its target, and Ridley screams out as he feels the white-hot electricity course through his body. Slinky opens her eyes just in time to smile at the comically pained expression on her adversary’s face.
Even though Ridley didn’t benefit from the power of the ancient dragons he is more than willing to show Slinky that he still has much of their ability. His jaws open wide and, with a fiery roar, intense flames pour out of his mouth and begin to swirl around and around. Slinky watches nervously as the swirling flames rise higher and higher, forming a tornado of angry fire. The Fire Spin begins to advance towards the bouncing purple piglet, who panics; she just barely manages to concentrate hard enough to get her pearl glowing yet again. This time, however, no wave of energy is released from it; instead, it glows brighter and brighter, finally sending a Flash of bright light into Ridley’s eyes. The shiny Charmander yelps and paws at his burning eyes, the flames from his mouth no longer adding to the towering inferno he created. All the same, the damage is done: the whirling fire tornado has just enough juice to engulf Slinky, badly singeing her fur. Ridley grins smugly as the flames die down; his stinging eyes cannot see the Spoink’s face, but he knows he’s finally done some damage to her. He makes a quick “thumbs up” in the general direction of the defense lawyer and the criminal.
Things are really getting interesting in this wild and crazy courtroom battle, and the unruly jury is impressed with the ingenuity shown by both trainers, who are even now thinking about what to do next. The varied commands and strategies have left Ridley with far less health than his foe, but Slinky is feeling even more exhausted than her battered opponent. Even though he’s aching all over, staggeringly tired and somewhat tingly from Slinky’s Shock Wave (tingly but still able to move), Ridley feels better now that he is free from the terrible grip of confusion. He’s also slightly disappointed that his Fire Spin didn’t last any longer than it did; Slinky, on the other hand, is quite relieved by this. She’s so tired that the last thing she wants is to be surrounded by a pillar of searing fire. Still, the two weary Pokémon do their best to keep on their feet in readiness for their trainers’ next commands.

I can tell you right now that PW is definitely worth it. It doesn't exactly have a lot of replay value, but it's more than worth the cost just to play through it once. Of course, it also works, for me at least, that after I've let it sit for a few weeks, I'm more than happy to give it another go. Trust me, it's worth buying.
Plus, the sequel's coming out in October.
I haven't played the game, but I am skilled in legalese.
Slink, we'll go down fighting if we need to.
I will not allow the defense to beat around the bush any longer. Taunt! We can take it!
They cannot escape the sound of truth, ringing clearly from our voice! Psywave! Even if they take to earth, they will not avoid it.
Finally, let's show them our surprise witness! Secret Power!

Ridley, it may look like a tight spot, but we can make it! They don't call me the Turnabout King for nothing!
First, since we are the defense team, I want you to hide your ears with a Defense Curl! Don't let the prosecution confound you with lies! Of course, try and regain your sight as well. Next, show that pig exactly how flexible we can be. Use an Aerial Ace to nimbly jump through those Psywave hoops! Finally, show the prosecution how tenaciously we'll fight. Bite down on Slinky with a Crunch and don't let go.
Defense Curl ~ Aerial Ace ~ Crunch
Before I start I should point out that that’s not how I (or most other people, according to some ASB attack lists) would ref Psywave… I tried to work around that a bit, but generally Psywave is entirely mind-based (not sound-based) and is aimed fairly randomly as per the “random damage” it does in-game. Like I said, though, I managed to tweak it a little bit… or, if you’d really like, I can just redo that part. Up to you guys.

Arena: A Court of Law
The combatants do battle in a court of law to decide the fate of the defendant. This court is wide, accommodating most Pokémon. Also, straying too close to the lawyers or the judge will cause one of the lawyers to break out a "HOLD IT!", which freezes the Pokémon in place for an action. Finally, if one of the Pokémon incurs Damage Caps on the other, one of the lawyers will yell "TAKE THAT!", which restores a minimal amount of energy to the attacking Pokémon.
Round Five: Begin!
Judge Phoenixsong finally loses it and chucks her gavel at the jury seats; she misses the unruly jurors but manages to clock a bailiff and drop him to the floor. The Blaziken in the powdered wig grumpily returns her attention to the battle, grumbling things that sound like “be more careful about who gets jury summons” and “need to work on my aim”. Ridley the shiny Charmander and Slinky the not-shiny Spoink are very, very tired but still steel themselves for another three exchanges of attacks. They receive their orders from Ace64 and TheBlueAvenger and spring (albeit slowly) into action.
Ridley half expects his opponent’s pearl to begin glowing again, but it does not—Slinky begins to bounce up and down and back and forth, squealing and pulling faces in a thoroughly obnoxious manner. C’mon, lizard boy, come and get me! Let’s see what you’ve got, iguana face! Slinky seems to say. Arrgh… will the Taunts and torments from this spunky little pig never cease?! Ridley is still tired and agitated, but realizes that he needs to keep a cool head in order to pull out of this, and so before he hears too much of the Spoink’s mocking chatter he tucks his little body into a ball, the Defense Curl shielding his ears. Slinky pouts as she realizes that Ridley can no longer hear her; the Charmander, meanwhile, rubs at his eyes, trying to clear his vision before his next attack.
Now Ridley gets what he was expecting as Slinky’s pearl begins to glow and sparkle again. She shuts her eyes and focuses before letting loose a wide-ranging barrage of psychic energy. The pulses of the Psywave resonate through the room, not unlike sound waves would, and the people gathered in the courtroom feel the effects; Judge Phoenixsong rubs her forehead as she tries to alleviate a sudden, slight headache. Ridley cannot see the ripples of energy, but he does his best to avoid them as they bounce around; he shoots forward with a shrill battlecry and blasts past Slinky, tearing her side with his claws. He skids to a stop after the Aerial Ace, panting from the exertion required to pull off the super-speedy attack.
Slinky is tired and can barely stand—er, bounce—but she still does her best to muster her last energy reserves. She compresses her spring-tail and, with a wild yell of desperation, rockets forward to slam her weight into the shiny Charmander’s body. Mystical forces, fueling Slinky’s Secret Power, shock Ridley with their arcane energy as the piglet makes contact with him and paralyze him. Ridley cries out in frustration; he’s sick of being held back by all of this negative status. Still, he can move just enough to Crunch down on Slinky’s side, and at point-blank range the attack neither misses nor loses any of its potency. The prosecutor, still smoldering slightly, shouts “OBJECTION! Your Honor, the defense has already been told that Crunch is an illegal move for Charmander!” Before the judge can reply, however, the defense lawyer throws his attaché case at his adversary. “Oh, shut up already, you idiot! That’s not true! Ridley, please continue.” The prosecutor sits down hard and tenderly feels the black eye that resulted from the amazing flying briefcase, Judge Phoenixsong threatens to hold the defense in contempt of court and Ridley chomps down with relish. Now that was more like it.
The courtroom battle is down to the wire, with both Ridley and Slinky barely hanging on to consciousness. Slinky sways dangerously back and forth and the courtroom in front of her begins to swim in and out of focus; Ridley is not faring too much better, and his muscles are stiff from paralysis as well. The jury oohs and aahs and gasps, and several are on the edges of their seats and gnawing their fingernails. Judge Phoenixsong is loudly berating the defense attorney, who is only half listening; he’s enjoying the prosecutor’s attaché-induced black eye far too much to care at the moment. TBA and Ace64 are faced with a tough decision now. Their young Pokémon are exhausted beyond belief but still seem to be ready to fight until the end; what should the two trainers do next?

Lawyers throwing briefcases around, sports-crowd jurors, a judge who can’t control her court and a defendant who stands accused of a crime no one even seems to know… heh, isn’t our judicial system wonderful? XD
Ridley, lure that Spoink into attacking with Swagger... no point in letting the prosecution get ahead. If this doesn't cause you to faint, just relax.
Witness excused.
(Also, I was going by the anime description of Psywave... I think an Exeggutor used it in the first rounds of the Indigo League. It was a bright yellow hoop. *shrugs* thanks again for reffing, Phoenixsong.)
Ugh...hate energy. And I was going by the attack list version, but its fine the way it is. Damage isn't the issue...
Slinky, we'll leave it to luck. If it seems Ridley's paralysis will keep him from attacking, Relax, then Taunt. That should keep him from relaxing and force him to action.
If Ridley does Swagger, Taunt right back.
