[TTT:Finals!] Saffire VS Crystal - Ref: Elec Man

One Last Bout - Information:
This is the final round of The Tiny Tourney and takes place in an open-air stadium during mid-morning. There is a round, pond-like fountain in the middle of the grassy arena which has a little island in the center, making it similar to a doughnut in appearence.

This match is a 2-2, one out at a time. You can only use first stage Pokemon - no evolved forms or non-evolving Pokemon. There are no banned attacks.



Coin flip determines Saffire will send out first and Crystal will attack first. Ref is needed.

The winner gets 6 points, and the runner up recieves a free catch/evolution.

Alright Vaan, start off with Agility, dodge anything it throws at you, while boosting up your speed. While having the superior speed, use a Safeguard. Hopefully that new adrenaline helps you set it up, but if it doesn’t meh… We not worried. Finally, finish off with a Sunny Day.
If it gets near you on the last turn however, cancel Sunny Day for Brick Break. If it protecting though, just go back to Sunny day…

First off, Snatch that Agility from that Treecko. Next, Snatch that Safeguard from that Treecko as well - I believe it can be Snatched. If you can Snatch a substitute, you can Snatch a Safeguard; however, if you can't, Mimic it instead. Next, let Treecko do his little Sunny Day. Don't get near him, but use Secret Power .

Here we are for the final round of The Tiny Tournament. The two finalists enter opposite ends of the stadium, each looking confident. The first gal to make her move is Saffire Persian, who hurls her first pokeball into the arena in front of her. Following a bright flash of energy, a playful Meowth is revealed. The feline looks with wide eyes at his trainer while hopping up and down, seeming quite excited. Combatant number two, Crystal Tears, scratches her head and then pulls out her own pokeball. A quick toss lets off a second brilliant white light, and the light fades to leave a small grass type. Vaan scans his bouncy adversary, while waiting for his trainer's orders. Both Crystal and Saffire give their attacks for the start of the battle, and neither pokemon hesitates as the finals get under way.

Chance, being the swifter of the two, would be likely to attack first. But instead, he simply shuffles about, waiting for his leafy foe to make the first move. Treecko doesn't let the absence of attack bother him, and immedietly closes his eyes. Deepening his concentration, Vaan starts to relax his body, while focusing his energy through his muscles. But Meowth grins, knowing thats his cue, and his eyes gain an eerie black glow. A faint aura of darkness creeps over Vaan. As the wood gecko finishes, he opens his eyes and strangely doesn't feel any different. He scratches his head, but his expression turns to annoyance when Chance's eyes fade back to normal and the cat dashes back and forth tauntingly, almost too fast to be seen.

The sneaky little Meowth is quite happy with his thievery, but he's not done yet. Again he waits, anxiously waiting for his opponent while darting back and forth, just to playfully insult to the grass pokemon. Vaan hesitates a bit, wary of the sneaky cat, but knows that he can't wait forever, and needs to protect himself. Raising his arms at his sides, he shuts his eyelids and focuses again. This time, a circle of spinning lights start to appear around him, near the ground. But once again Chance takes the opportunity. Eyes darkened, the same black aura works its way over Treecko's body, and suddenly the swirling lights around the lizard vanish. Almost instantly, the lights reappear, but around Chance. The encircle him rapidly, moving upward and granting him a transparent shield just outside his body. Vaan opens his peepers just in time to see the spinning lights fade away over Chance. Letting out a grunt of discontent, the grass type shakes his fist at his cream colored foe.

Meowth chuckles for a moment, and then realizes its due time he went on the offensive. He stills, eyes shimmering with energy. A wavy stream of power flows from Chance's pupils to the ground near Vaan, illuminating a patch of grass and earth. The gecko steps back nervously, and then suddenly gets smacked in the face as the glowing plants and dirt fly at him. The attack hits him right in the face, and he stumbles back. He coughs, having inhaled some of the dirt particles. As he rubs the dirt from his face, he feels somehow stiffened, but the sensation passes and he raises his head to the sky. Quite fond of the sun, Vaan focuses his mind on just that. An aura of reddish orange encircles his body, and overhead the clouds in the sky seem to melt away, leaving the sun completely exposed. The heat brings a grin to his face, and he simply lets it wash over him. The aggrivation of his last two attacks is forgetten as the lizard stands basking in the solar light.

With the sun shining brightly down on the arena, the round draws to a close. Vaan keeps on enjoying the sunlight, while Chance scratches his ear. The trainers shield their eyes against the sun, while thinking up their strategies for Round 2.

So, wierd thing I found. If you use the color tag and put in "sapphire" (the correct spelling), you get a deep shade of purple . If you put in "saphire", you get the blue color thats showing now.

Nice job, Chance. Now lets see how lucky (or not) we are in round two.

First, I want you to use Secret Power again. Keep a bit of distance between you and him while you're at it, so if he decides to run and try to use a fighting attack on you (which almost always requires physical contact) he'll have to run all the way towards you... and I doubt his paralyzed muscles will appreciate that at all - so he'll be moving slower, and with that Agility in your blood, you might just be able to move out of the way quite well before he can ever get to you.

Ah, one last thing, if our gecko friend becomes paralyzed, opt to use Aerial Ace instead, or Swift for clones.

Hey this probably won’t work but what the hell! If I’m going to lose I might as well have fun with it.

First Vaan, ignore your Paralysis and use Safeguard. Hopefully this time that stupid cat won’t steal it. Next don’t do anything, give your muscles a break ok? Next, wait until after he fires his last Secret Power and march up to him and use a nice powerful Focus Punch. Since you’ve rested in between your muscles should be fine. But hell, we have the worst of luck, so it probably won’t work anyway! XDDD

Battle
Both of the trainers stand tall in the warm sunlight, thinking up strategies for victory. After a bit of consideration, they shout their orders to the pokemon, Vaan slowly nodding while Meowth lets out a gleeful mew.

First to make a move is Chance, who makes sure to keep his distance from his slow lizard friend. As before, his eyes start to shimmer, but then he notices his opponent stiffening. Vaan feels the inhaled dust taking effect, and his muscles stop responding. The only movement he can muster is a bit of uncontrolled twitching. Seizing the opportunity, Chance gets on all fours and charges toward his opponent, boosted speed getting him there in mere moments. The feline crouches down and then leaps into the air, extending the claws on one hand. He flips in the air and starts to soar downward, claws swirling with a small amount of light blue energy. The energized nails are thrust into Treecko's head as Chance dives down on him, knocking the gecko back. Still stiff, Vaan tumbles awkwardly over the ground while Meowth lands gracefully, conceited grin on his face. Finally regaining muscle control, the grass type groans and rubs his injured head.

Not wanting to have the nasty paralysis kick in again, Vaan sits on the ground calmly, hoping to give himself a better chance of fighting it by resting. While Treecko gives himself a break, Meowth keeps the heat on. He slowly backs up, still keeping his distance while summing up his energy once more. The pulsating ray of energy is blasted out of Chance's pupils, illuminating the dirt just in front of the resting lizard. Vaan shuts his eyes tightly in preperation for what he knows is coming next, yet still cries out as the mass of dirt smacks him in the chest. In spite of the sting of the attack, he continues to rest, determined to fight his affliction. Chance thinks nothing of it, merely thinking of his increasing lead in the battle.

Even after Meowth's attack, Vaan keeps on sitting calmly. The cat shrugs, and his eyes shimmer as he prepares for yet another arena-based attack. And with that, Vaan stands up, grinning at the fact that the cat took the bait. He concentrates carefully, pooling the entirety of his body's chi around his right fist. The appendage starts to glow, rapidly getting brighter, as Chance releases his attack. Vaan is again slammed with a chunk of grass and dirt lifted by the normal type via energy, but he holds steady through the impact, only grunting. Then the gecko starts to charge at Meowth, fist pulled back, shining brightly and chi still massing. The cat is still recovering from his own attack, and boosted speed doesn't help him in that regard. Vaan reaches his opponent and leaps forward, giving a war cry as he powerfully hurls his fist into Chance's torso. The crushing blow knocks the wind out of the cat, and he can only muster a gasp while he flies back, eyes screwed shut with pain. He tumbles quite a distance before coming to a stop, but makes no effort to get up, overwhelmed and writhing in pain. Vaan breaths heavily, having expended a great deal of energy, but can't help but grin at finally scoring a hit on his opponent.

After an amount of time, Chance finally fights the pain and pushes himself to his feet, one paw over the deep bruise caused by the punch. Still determined, he looks toward his trainer, hiding the pained expression and awaiting her orders. Vaan also looks toward his trainer, and both think about the coming round.

Can't avoid Magical Leaf, so take the hit and use Payback . Use Double Team to try and avoid that Drain Punch. Then, when he comes at you with Iron Tail, Secret Power .

If he's paralyzed any time this turn, use U-turn except we're not switching out or any of that nonsense. If doing that isn't allowed, use Aerial Ace.

Battle
Sun glowing brightly, the two trainers stand opposite one another with confident smiles. Meowth and Treecko listen carefully to their trainers orders, each one giving a quick nod before turning back to his opponent.

Though the faster of the two, Meowth doesn't take advantage just yet, and instead stands and waits for his opponent to do something. Vaan looks at the cat and isn't sure just what he's planning, but he's not about to delay the battle on his account. The gecko stares on at Meowth and swings his tail around, flinging a bunch of energy-encircled leaves up into the air. They glow in an aurora of colors, floating there for a moment before they propel towards Chance. He makes no effort to evade them, knowing well he can't, instead simply shutting his eyes. The leaves rush at him, some smashing directly into him while others graze him and fly by. None are particularly sharp, but the grass energy causes him a deal of pain as the flurry strikes him. Chance groans as the blast of leafs ends, and then opens his eyes which shine a deep black. He starts charging toward the grass type, rage in his eyes, and his body pulsating with a dark aura. A nervous Vaan steps back, and Meowth lunges at him swiftly. The feline smashes into his opponent with ferocity, causing Treecko to shriek in pain. He flies back, smashing into the ground and tumbling a few feet before coming to rest on his stomach. A few bits of darkness still cling to his skin and force their way into his body as Vaan pushes himself to his feet, cringing.

As the darkness fades from his eyes, Chance closes them yet again, needing to concentrate on his next manuever. This time the focus is on defense, and on either side of the cat a copy splits off from his body and takes his appearence. Copy cats... heh. Anyway, back to the battle. Even as Meowth creates his duplicates, Vaan raises his fist. Orbs of chi energy circle the surface of his hand, and he runs forward. He picks the center Meowth as his target, and as all 3 Meowth open their eyes the lizard shoves his fist into the central cat's gut. The attack doesn't meet with a solid object, and his fist flys straight through the illusory Chance, which then shimmers and disappears. He lets out a disheartened groan, drawing the chi back into his body without the energy boost he'd hoped to get. On either side of the lizard, the two remaining Meowth turn to him and chuckle. He shoots a glare towards the one to his right as he turns to face it.

Furrowing his brow, Vaan stares at the cat thats to be the target of this next attack. His deep green tails start to shimmer as they take on a metallic sheen. The twin leafs are hardened like steel, glinting in the bright sunlight. He starts to dash toward Chance, tails ready to strike, but Meowth isn't going to have any of that. His eyes glow with power, and in a familiar manuever he unleashes a rippling beam of energy into the ground directly on front of himself. A mass of dirt and grass is encircled by the white glow, and then flys upward straight into Treecko's chest. Behind him, a similar projectile hits his back from the other Meowth. The force stops him in his tracks for a moment and makes him grit his teeth as the dust enshrouds him. He unknowingly breathes in some of the pollen again, and the tingling in his muscles increases, but his focus is on the attack. Before the dust can even settle, Vaan rushes out of it. The gecko leaps at Chance, spinning his body around and bashing the cat with his iron leaves. This time Treecko lucks out and hits the real one, and Meowth lets out a high pitched shriek as he gets flung sideways, side stinging. He slides through the grass while his clone disappears. Chance comes to a skidding halt soon after and lifts himself to his feet, one hand holding his bruised side.

As Vaan's leafy tail returns to its normal texture, he looks up toward the sky. He sees a few clouds starting to return and the sun isn't beating down quite so hard, but its still quite a nice day. As resolved as ever, he turns back to face Chance and await his trainers' orders. Meowth hisses at the lizard, determined to reign supreme.

All right, Chance, lets keep our distance and start with an Icy Wind now that the clones are gone, and follow it with an Assist for a little random fun, and finish with a Secret Power, strafe if there are any clones on the field at this time.

However, if he wants to use any fighting-type move against you, Flash him so he can't see, and has a better chance of missing. To avoid it, he'd have to close his eyes - and he can't hit accurately while closing his eyes at the same time, can he? Oh - and if he's paralyzed, go with the usual by U-Turning him without switching out.. or if that ain't allowed, Aerial Ace.
