"We Have Lost Contact..."

Quadrant QSR-134, located close to the middle of our galaxy, has been notorious for lost spacecraft heading through the area: the craft all lose contact and never return. This has led to it being known colloquially as "The Bermuda Triangle of the Milky Way." Passenger, government, and military ships all avoid the area, even though it is directly between the Solar System and mankind's embassy at Takin, homeworld of a newly-discovered race known as the Grild.

Ranging from lanky to obese, the
Grild are anthro-amphibians (frogmen) with a caste system. Although this fact has angered human ethicists, it is ignored in favor of a peace with the Grild. The Grild are known for their fickle nature, riding fads not only in popular culture but also in politics and culture as a whole. Especially fond of Earth air (the combined nitrogen and carbon dioxide mixture is, although almost toxic to humans, an addictive drug to the Grild), the Grild maintain excellent trade with humans, who have gone on to populate some of the more habitable planets and moons in the solar system.

Because of its location,
Takin is also designated as the site of the Galactic Organization, a collective of sentient life that includes humanity, the Grild, and rounds out with the Krygzx (KRIEG-zicks), a race of rock creatures. While male Krygzx pride themselves on thick hides and spiky skin, the females are known for their smooth and sparkly, gemlike qualities. Able to survive on minerals alone, Krygzx culture has gone little past forager society, keeping power in the hands of a select few ancient female sages. Their ventures from their distant homeworld, also named Krygzx, have usually been in conquests, but were recently deflected in a new direction- commerce- by new royalty.

Conferring together, the three races have formed a peace before war, an experience virtually unknown in any party’s history. This peace is uneasy, however, with some
humans itching for war, the constant flux and strain of the Grildian economy, and the jealousy of the Krygzx. Certain novel events may solidify the peace or threaten to destroy it.

One notable exception to the rule of total avoidance of
QSR-134 is that of cargo and transport ships, who are notorious for veering dangerously close to the quadrant. One such ship, the Benito, is carrying a grand supply of Earth air when caught by a strong magnetic pull into the transmission silence of The Bermuda Triangle of the Milky Way...

The playable characters will be on the crew of the
Benito, whether human, Grild. or Krygzx. The possibilities are pretty open, but I will give a small (Spoiler:) that we're headed to an island-type planet.

In any case, here's the signup:

And mine:

Name: Rondo Lirslan
Race: Grild
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Appearance: Lanky and blue, Rondo has trademark yellow Grildian "Kermit" eyes bulging from the top of his elongated face. In the color scheme of a poison dart frog, Rondo's skin is a bright blue with black and, rarely, bright orange stripes. Rondo wears a standard Grildian wetsuit (that keeps him wet), skintight and dark blue from the ankles and wrists to the neck. His underbelly a lighter, sky blue, Rondo has no visible hair to speak of although his hands and feet, oversized compared to human equivalents, do have small hairs that help grip slicker surfaces.
Personality: Rondo is a goodhearted joker, always ready with a pun and only then actual advice. He keeps in his comfort zone most of the time; defense of that which matters to him pushes him out of it, though, revealing a more adamant if not frantic side to Rondo.
History: Born into the lower-middle class caste, Rondo picked up literally where his father left off, in the mud pits of Takin, trying to scratch out a living. His luck came up, though, when he was asked to run communications for the Benito.
Skills/Other: Has a secret addiction to Earth air.
