There is a small boy by the name of Tatsuo. He is fifteen years old, and has always been short for his age. This boy is a rather untalented attendee of Kazan school. He has never been very good at the whole immovable defence thing…

The weightier parts of his uniform are discarded as he runs, desperate to escape his pursuers and to lighten his tread. Stray bits of science flash to the front of his mind as he runs; be streamlined for speed, equations of weight and height and ability at sport (which he has never been any good at). All he thinks of is how he can escape his Furin attackers. They are definitely good at the whole swift as the wind thing, and they catch up with Tatsuo quicker than he ever could have thought.

He cowers, a cornered mouse with nowhere to go. He does not know why they chase, why they hurt; all he knows is that he does not like it.

Tears run down his plain face as the three move in for the action, and Tatsuo squeezes his eyes shut in panic, waiting for the inevitable crush of breath as feet make contact with ribs and face and stomach; no mercy, no empathy, they will just hurt and hurt until they grow bored with his crying and then filter away into the dwindling light.

Tatsuo feels an intense rage come over him at his predicament. Why do people pick on him? Why do they single him out for their cruelties?

The rage is red hot then white hot and he feels suffused with it from head to curled up toe. Tatsuo gathers his strength. He forces himself to stand, using the wall as a support until he can look the Furin bastards in the eyes. He sees them tremble, dread fear in their eyes, and he looks on in wonder. Something he is doing is making them feel like this - but what is it?

His shadow stretches out in front of him longer than it ever has before, and larger and somehow, much more dark. This shadow has depths that should not be looked upon by man, and yet here is our little Tatsuo, controlling this shadow with the force of his pain.

Not once does he feel as if he is being manipulated as a puppet is dangled from the darkness, its master hidden in shadows. Tatsuo simply sees his enemies flee, but they cannot possibly be fast enough for his wrath, and they are soon overcome by shadow.

Nothing is left save a trio of Furin uniforms, their blazers forlorn on the darkening floor.

Tatsuo, like a puppet whose strings are finally cut, shudders to the floor, his eyes fixed in horror on those three, lonely blazers; a flash of colour streaking the floor with plum red, which looks to his grieving eyes like blood in the pale, pale dusk.

Now, you may be wondering just what the HELL happened in the preceding ramble. Well, I’ll tell you!

One perfectly normal-seeming year, strange things start a’happening at the schools of Furin and Kazan. Some people, a select few you might say, start to experience the awakening of powers within themselves; powers that first surface when they are subject to heightened emotions - such as fear, anger, sadness, &c. These powers are directed towards others, the first incident being the one described in the paragraphs above.
Up until this incident, tensions have merely being escalating slowly. Students of both schools are scared by the appearance of powers, their friends sceptical that they even exist; an uneasy truce stands between schools. That is until now. The attack of three Furin boys by one Aoiga Tatsuo has provoked serious hatred between these two ancient academies; war has been declared between students, teachers try desperately to hold the peace, but to no avail.
Some of the brighter students begin to wonder, however. Where do these powers come from? Who sent them? Is there someone hiding in shadows, behind the scenes, controlling all that happens in these dread days?
This is where our story begins…

STEP 2: CHOOSE YOUR POWER

There's four types of powers for the choosing, but the snag is that if someone else in the element your chosen Zodiac sign is categorized by has taken it already, that power is off-limits. This is our not-so-subtle little attempt to have some diversity. :x
First and foremost, awakening of powers is achieved when the character is in an extreme emotional state. From then on powers may be called upon at will. The efficacy of each power is directly connected to the character's physical and mental state at the time that it is used and I think we are all lovely and sensible and intelligent RPers, so no god-RPing with whatever your power happens to be please, kkthxbai.

Possible powers:

Familiars - aka Bigass Robots. These are extremely large mecha which your character will pilot. Design and power up to you but must be based on related zodiac sign. As a general guideline, Familiars destroy things. They do not have defensive or support abilities and are in essence mindless golems.

Summons - aka Pokemon. These are magical creatures; their appearance and ability relates to the appropriate zodiac sign. They may be called upon to fight for their Chosen. They have a telepathic bond with their Chosen, and as such are useful as spies. Otherwise, their abilities are entirely up to you.

Magic - Self-explanatory. Elemental, support, defence, whatever as long as it's somehow linked to the zodiac sign.

Weapons - This can be any weapon. Any weapon. Yes, even machine guns or mortars, or things which are not weapons, like flutes. (Okay, maybe not mortars.) Can be magical. Must be related appearance-and-magical-function-wise to zodiac sign, blah, blah. Believe me, these, and the sense-related powers, can be more useful than Familiars OR summons, used correctly.


STEP 3: MISCELLANEOUS

This is Japanese high school themed. If it wasn't obvious enough already. (Despite the use of the Western zodiac... despite.)

Furin's uniforms are standard public school style: shirt, tie, blazer etc.

Kazan's uniforms are sailor fuku for girls and gakuran for guys. Sailor fuku = the standard Japanese high school uniform you see in anime, like Sailormoon. (that's why it's called Sailormoon, because they wear sailor fuku...) Gakuran = the black suit.. thing. Wiki tells all.

Modifications to these uniforms can be made by individual students.

ADDENDUM: NPCs.
In addition to regular signups, this RPG will be more unique in that you may also make "signups" for "Nonplayable Characters", or NPCs. They are not really "non-playable" as will be explained later, but for the most part their purpose is just to give the rest of the audience an understanding of an otherwise more minor character you put into the story. Why would we want NPCs? First off, chances are that even with our enormous population of RPGers we won't likely fill up the list of "powers" given therefore it's better to substitute it with NPCs. Additionally, say you want to make a side character, a "best friend" for your character, but you don't want to take on the responsibility of making a whole new character because then you'd have to play him/her. By making him/her an NPC, you can tell people how the character acts and so THEY won't (majorly) mess up how they interact with your best friend character.
Now, having NPCs also means that if you sign up and ditch the RPG later your character can turn into an NPC. And there is NO restriction for killing an NPC. At ANY time. Therefore if anyone starts deeming you as being inactive, we can turn your character into an NPC and quite possibly kill you off without any warning. Of course, if you respond like a day later saying "wtf why am I dead" we might change it, but consider it a warning. :p
As a final note, even though they're called NPCs, the CREATOR can (if they desire) once in a while make a post about what they're thinking, as if they were an actual character. But unlike their main character, they are not responsible for doing this on a consistent basis.

Name: Mizukaze Ryuu
Age: 16
Gender: m
Appearance: Short brown hair. Sparkling blue eyes. Athletic figure. Ryuu wears the typical Furin uniform with the pin for the Furin martial arts team on his lapel. His tie in uniform is a silver color with a metallic blue chinese dragon on it. His blazer has blue trim which makes him stand out a little in uniform. When not in uniform he is usually seen in a black tai chi gi that has a blue collar and a blue chinese dragon stitched across the chest.
Personality: Gentle as the breeze with the torrential power of the whirlwind. Ryuu is one of the calmest coolest individuals you'll ever meet. He's often perceived as a quiet person but really he is just selective of the people and/or times he decides to be vocal. He's very observant of other people and acts accordingly to reduce conflict. Despite his unshakable calm demeanor, he can become violently swift when someone he cares about is threatened. His manner and speech will never waver but his actions rapidly become aggressive when someone he cares for is hurt or threatened.
School: Furin
Zodiac Sign: Aquarius
Power: Weapon
Power Description: An ornate staff 6 feet in length, it is intricately etched depicting a blue Chinese dragon coiling through the clouds for it's entire length. Capable of creating powerful gusts of wind that are controlled by the movement of the weapon. Can be used to form a shield of air by rapidly spinning it, or powerful aimed blasts of air with jabs and swipes. Eventually will allow flight as spinning it over your head rapidly provides lift (ala helicopter) and the dragons mouth can be triggered to spew forth a small cloud which the wielder can stand on and direct similar to a skateboard. Mastery of the staff will allow the forming of a bubble of wind shielding the wielder from all directions as the staff is carefully spun rapidly in all directions around him in an elaborate delicate fashion.
Background/History: Ryuu had a fairly normal childhood. When he was 11 his parents divorced. Originally he stayed with his wealthy father but when his father remarried two years later he moved back in with his mother as his father no longer had time for him. School life also went fairly normal until he met Cho. During a martial arts competition between Furin and Kazan early in his second year he met her and the two of them have been meeting in secret ever since. They have been trying to keep their love secret for fear of what their respective classmates might do but it has become increasingly difficult to keep meeting with the growing hostilities.
Other: Ryuu is in love with Cho. They do their best to keep their relationship hidden from their classmates. Ryuu dislikes having to maintain the secrecy but would do anything to protect Cho even though she doesn't normally need it.

Name: Kasai, Akio (means Fiery Bright Boy!) but he goes by a fake last name, "An" which seems odd.
Age: 16
Gender: M
Appearance: He’s like Maguri from Gentlemen’s Alliance! SHAMELESS STEALING! If you don’t know what that looks like, look at these pictures. Picture 1 Picture 2 and Picture 3! His hair is not blonde however, but a fiery red color- think Renji but more vibrant! XD Same golden eye color however and he has a knack for wearing splotchy camo beneath his school uniform. He has a regular toned build, with a slightly sun-ripened hue to his skin that radiates his inner fiery glow. He stands about 5'9 and his noticable bodily feature is his strong shoulder line and sloped waist. His regular school uniform is all black, but because he’s on the Student Council he wears a white overcoat/suit jacket-styled uniform with black trim. He always wears his collar slightly open, just because he hates the feel of it against his neck. And that white band around his head? He usually sports that after school but sometimes during school if he forgets.
His after school wear usually are khaki-colored pants, a tight-fitting black shirt with a air-breathing, light-weight olive green jacket over it.

Personality: On the outer shell, Akio is known for being a ‘go-getter’ and seems extremely confident in himself. He is not arrogant, but rather when he puts his mind to something he’s quite sure that he’ll do alright at it or… at least positive about it. He tends to get bored with things easily however, and has a knack for doing something one minute, getting bored and then leaving it to do something else. (with out an ADD quality, mind you.) He is quite animate which makes him highly amusing in stressful situations and he tends to overreact to other people’s comments if they show a slight hint of disapproval. If he does something wrong, he’s very quick to be a mopey puppy about it and very apologetic the point of overkill. However, his temper can flash in an instant in a rather comedic way if someone decides to snark at jab at him.
Deep down he feels a lot of pressure due to his family lineage and the expectations his family has placed upon him. He usually doesn’t reveal much of his inner emotions to others and rather seems quite oblivious to anyone who might have interest in him at first. There’s more to him than that obviously, but that’s a brief definition.

School: Kazan
Zodiac Sign: Aries, RWAR!
Power: Elemental Fire
Power Description: Akio’s powers stem directly from the elemental power of fire, since his sign IS the Cardinal direct of the fire signs. However, Akio has found that controlling such a wild element of fire is quite difficult, especially if his temper flares up. He can manifest the element so that it bends to his will, but the strength and quantity at which it does so directly depends upon his state of mind. This creates problems when he is angry, for the fire conjured is a bit too much and also when he’s mopey, because the fire is too small. Abilities he can do with his fire range from surrounding himself on fire without pain (sometimes with, depending on the situation… XD) for protection or hurling simple fireballs. He cannot do this yet, but eventually will learn how to use fire to create wall-like barriers to burn things that try to pass through it and such. Despite being a fire element user, Akio shows visibly no fear of any element- a sign of his Aries sign.
Background/History: Akio is from the Kasai family, which is one of the more wealthy and influential families within the area. However, Akio has kept his last name much of a secret and so has the family, due to the fact that the Kasai family is generally secretive in nature and has been often the subject of doing rather questionable things and pushing their weight slightly. Akio rather enjoys not sporting his real last name, and using his fake one that he created himself. A few people point out the odd naming, but no one really mentions it directly to Akio due to his personality.
Akio’s mother and father are generally too busy to be around and Akio grew up being the subject of many other family members who visited his house. Generally he was brought up by the family hires. Despite this, Akio is filled with a tremendous amount of pressure from his family to succeed in his schooling and go on to head the Kasai family. He doesn’t particularly enjoy this much, because he’d rather goof around and do what he likes.
Now that he’s apart of the school, he’s got a bit of a reputation as being someone you want to avoid. Not because he’s violent or gets into fights, but rather because the sheer aura and charisma around him makes people think he’s probably got some fighting power in him. (which is only enhanced when his powers surface.) Akio, ironic enough, doesn’t seem to care much about the little ‘rivalry’ between the two schools despite his friends many attempts to drag him into the fights and pressure from the Student Council. (dum dum duuum!) There are rumors he’s good friends with people from the neighboring school.
Other: Despite his sometimes goofy and rather comical moody nature, Akio gets excellent grades which comes to a shock to many when they are released. :3 Also he is the Vice President of the Student Council, so fear him. XD XD He's been grade school friends with both Inoue Hotaru and Sakamoto Dai, and those two are probably the only ones who get the inner workings of Akio's personality, which may or may not be a good thing. XD
ALSO... Akio has a weird, loving addiction of Mochi Ball ice cream. (Mochi ball ice cream is where pounded rice is made into mochi and wrapped about flavored ice cream. His favorite flavor is green tea and strawberry.)

Name: Akaikami (A combination of "red" and "hair", which is usually the one significant feature people see in her- use 'Akai' for short, Akai-chan!)
Age: Appearance as 16 years old
Gender: Appearance as Female... Actually scratch that YES SHE'S A GIRL
Appearance: A dark, forboding character shrouded in mystery. Her outward appearance is that of a normal human girl, standing just around 5 feet tall with a slim, agile figure suited for appearing and disappearing in the blink of an eye. Her most noticable feature is hair, extending noticably down to her waist and having a bright red color, the color of fresh oxygenated blood from a deep wound. Her bangs are just long enough so that it can cover her eyes from the upper angles, and indeed most of her appearance in the first part of this RP will have her eyes hidden beneath her bright colored hair. Her eyes are of a dark ebony black color, and looking into them gives the feeling of a deep, inpenetrable abyss. Her youthlike figure is enwrapped in a tight suit not unlike that of a one piece swimsuit, which I swear isn't for fanservice reasons but to make her movements more agile and less likely to be noticed. She wears a long black manteau which, when fully covered, causes her to disappear within the shadows. She has long black leather gloves and boots. Attached to the center of the manteau where it brings the cape together is a bright red jewel that has the appearance of a serpent eye.
Personality: Probably best described as quiet, but only because that is the best course of action for most of her job. Being a secretive and deceptive character, it suits the situation much more conveniently for her to work without words instead of mouthing off all her plans like some incompetent villians do. She is cunning and serious, though may make a sarcastic comment once in a while. She does whatever she thinks is the best option to go with and complete her mission, and most of the time, it IS the best option. She does not purposely use her powers for her own pleasure, though its true she does enjoy her job of tormenting other humans. She seems to have particular goals in mind with her actions, though many people do not know of her existance, much less what intentions she has for the two schools.
Initially, anyone who would happened to have "accidentally" noticed her would at most remember her bloodred hair. Anyone who thinks they see more than just her hair early in the RP will die a quick and sudden death. :V
School: She doesn't go to school, but she can certainly fit in if you give her a school outfit!
Zodiac Sign: Ophiuchus

Power Description: Rather than having a specific power for herself, She instead seems to be able to give other otherwise normal student fake Zodiac powers, releasing them in a similar way only usually they are released due to emotional stress. She targets those who have strong negative emotions of sorts, whether it be fear or anger, and converts it to a power, a familiar, a weapon, or something that makes the host weild dangerously and incontrollably for however she long she wants them to. This, obviously, is not the extent of her powers. Being the main antagonist she has additional powers to be revealed as the RP progresses, but for the time being...

Name: Itou Cho (last name first)
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Appearance: Cho's appearance misleads her age, with her being 4'11" with a small build and A cups. She doesn't like to fuss with her black hair so she keeps it in short spikes, leaving two long locks to curl up and over so they'll look like a pair of antennae. Her slightly tan skinned face is slightly ruined by a scar that runs over the bridge of her nose and under her eyes. She hasn't told anyone how she got it. Neither has she told anyone why one of her eyes is blue and the other bright green. She has a silver necklace with a butterfly charm that she rarely takes off.
Personality: Cho usually has a "live and let live" mentality. She only gets hostile towards someone or something when it starts to irritate her, regardless of the school. She only started to have animosity towards the Furin students recently, as the recent incident has made everyone tense. When someone pushes her buttons, her response is a very loud concert of insults and threats. But that's rare, seeing as she is usually happy about something, whether it's the weather or her favorite food being served. She'll let everyone know about her happy thoughts too, but never while standing still. She doesn't seem to take anything seriously, either by acting innocent or oblivious, or treating it like a game. But a sly smirk will tell otherwise. She isn't someone to take lightly.
School: Kazan
Zodiac Sign: Leo
Power: Summon
Power Description: A housecat-sized nekomata named Fuu, a cat demon with two tails. She's red in color, with yellow rings around her long forked tail, and a yellow collar with a ruby heart. Usually "Fuu" is the only thing she says, preferring to only fully communicate with Cho. Fuu likes to refer to herself in the third person, liking the sound of her name despite the fact that it means "wind". The cat is usually happy to do something for Cho, but will sometimes ask for something in return like toys or treats. Fuu can turn invisible to spy for Cho, also able to see in the dark. For battle, Fuu will grow to the size of a large dog, ignite her tails and lash them around, firing sickles of fire as she does so. (Think Air Cutter with fire.)
Background/History: Cho's mother is a famous artist, but her real name is kept a secret and so is known as "Katana" for the battle scenes that she loves to paint. One day thieves broke into their home to steal some of her work. Her mother was quickly knocked out when she saw them. Cho, having learned some self-defense, foolishly tried to stop them. She did well with one but two more jumped in and ganged up on her. The torture that followed left Cho with a permanent scar and a useless eye, as well as a loss of memory of the whole ordeal. After being filled in on the details she requested for a different color eye so she would never forget again. She got immersed in martial arts and met her secret love, Ryuu, during her first competition against the Furin students. Although she has been able to keep their meetings secret, she's also been hiding her frustration of the secrecy.
Other: She does adaquately in her classes, preferring to concentrate on her art class. She likes to sketch when she has free time. A digital camera is carried around to capture moments that she can't sketch. And she can't swim. Is in love with Furin student Mizukaze Ryuu ("water wind", creative) although she does not show it in public. Has been friends with Akio since her first year, and likes to talk about his hair.

FIRSTLY, I have something to say which was accidentally omitted from the original topic entirely through the fault of your not-so-esteemed host, Weasel.
Not everyone has their powers right at the start of the RPG. Like in some others we've all been in at some point, the hosts will roll a dice or something to decide who has their powers at the beginning of the RPG. Then pms will be sent, to notify players when their powers awaken. We think this will be a more realistic way, and hopefully more enjoyable.
MANY apologies for missing it out of the topic; if this changes anyone's mind about being in the RPG, please say so now.

Gender: M

He wears a typical Japanese school uniform for guys, buttoned up neatly and well pressed and whatnot. He usually carries his book bag with him and is prone to adjusting his glasses at the slightest hint of an anime inspired reflection.

Personality: Satoshi is a nerd, plain and simple...or maybe not. He possesses both a natural talent for academics as well as a studious attitude that only amplifies that talent. He is extremely hard working and gives his all to any pursuit that he dedicates himself to. He usually shares number one in the class with Akio who’s natural ability to get good grades mystifies him though he does not resent the go-getting youth, rather using his success to motivate him to do even better. He tries his best to get to know people and make friends but he can be awkward, not knowing how to deal with many social situations and especially so in tense situations that require a delicate hand.
Sometimes he can come across as arrogant or a know it all however this is usually due to him trying to explain something or sharing what he knows but forgetting that not everyone has the experiences he has had or really cares about his subjects of interest. He is quite apologetic in such situations when he realizes the effect it has on people. Finally, Satoshi is hopelessly clumsy much of the time. He has trouble focusing and is often the target of teasing and bullying. As a result, he is somewhat skittish.

In its normal state, Satoshi’s familiar is only the “person” part of what you see there. At it increasingly accesses its powers however, the horse/carriage section forms as something as a “battery” for the power needed for his moves. At first, the familiar forms as something of an exosuit on Satoshi, only a few feet larger than Satoshi himself. With the addition of more material however, it can grow to larger heights, limited mostly but the material avaliable though there is an upper-limit (far below the Empire State Building ;P). The familiar itself forms from material around Satoshi when he activates the power, the materials seeming to quickly burn up in a reddish fire as the suit forms. The materials return to normal when the familiar is deactivated none the worse for wear though while he maintains the familiar someone might have to go without a desk, car, house, etc depending on the size. Nothing vital to the story (the evil man’s base/his own armor) will ever be absorbed to form the suit for obvious reasons. In a perfectly empty field/desert, Satoshi could probably find enough material to form the basic suit and over time gather enough to increase the size but, as indicated by this situation, the less he has to work with the less mass he can add to the familiar.

Power-wise, the familiar utilizes its arms to project energy attacks as they are quite gunlike as shown in the image. The side attachments are sharp and they can be used as bladed weapons as well, charged with energy they can cut through most anything. In extreme situations, Satoshi can combine the arms into a bow-like weapon and fire incredibly powerful attacks though each such shot drains his energy store. The familiar is faster than it is tough though it can obviously absorb damage to some extent. The suit has the ability to manipulate energy in other ways other than just bolts to attack but not at first, and not as a primary method of operation (it’s more improvisational when he does it)

Satoshi has/will name the suit Tenma Chuushin

Background/History: Satoshi lives with his grandparents as his parents are both off on separate work-related exploits. His mother is a government translator and spends most of her time away on business with various members of the Japanese government. His father is a world-renowned Doctor who maintains a teaching position in America at the moment as well as his own work at the medical school’s hospital. Both visit from time to time but never for a long period. Satoshi feels the pressure of having such prestigious parents and most of the time uses that pressure to drive him to succeed more though it still gets to him time and again. His grandparents mostly let him do as he pleases, his grandfather is a Shinto priest at the local shrine and his grandmother maintains the shrine as well, the entire family living on the shrine grounds. Overall his life is normal, if somewhat colorful due to his grandparent’s profession (at least one person should have both parents in good standing and a normal houselife neh? ).

Other: HE LOVES TEA.....er...yeah, he likes it.

ZODIAC BOY

Name: Sakamoto Dai
Age: 17
Gender: Male. ..yes, yes, Virgo = female sign, complete antithesis of my character, yes...
Appearance: 5'11". Olive-skinned and quite buff since he's in the kendo club and turns up for the Ouendan on occasion. Strong and pronounced jawline, longish nose (but not as long as Akagi... no no). He has dark brown hair, a sort of mahogany hue; it's short and spiked. His eyes are yellow. When he gets really angry, many people assert that they can see a 'demonic aura'. He leaves the top button of his gakuran undone. When he's not in uniform, he's a hoodie and t-shirt kind of person.
Personality: Dai often finds himself doing jobs that other people don't do. Like cleaning the house (though his sister helps him with that), being saddled with random odd jobs from the Student Council and being poster boy for the kendo club. I suppose you could say he's a good 'boy'. He's nearly always angry or in the process of losing his temper, although there are days when he just can't be bothered to blow his top; on these days, he has a resigned look and manner. He grumbles a lot, but he'll come through in the end if you keep on at him. He does know when to draw the line, however, and should not be pushed too far - unless you want to provoke his 'demonic aura'. If you get in his good graces he can be very accommodating. Current people in this category: his sister, Inoue Hotaru, Kasai Akio.
He is very blunt in manner and doesn't sugarcoat his replies. He finds it hard to tell lies, even white ones. For this reason he can be hard to get along with. His brain works in straight lines, and he has an acute sense of 'right' and 'wrong'.
He is sometimes angry at the world in general.
School: Kazan

Power: Summon
Power Description: His summon is actually a group of three - so I guess I'll just add an 's' from now on. His summons, the Moirae, Wyrd Sisters, Fates and what-have-you, prefer to refer to themselves as the Sisters [onee-san-tachi], individually, Maiden, Mother and Crone. They are three sylph-like women, one young, one middle-aged, and one old. They enjoy appearing apparently out of nowhere and scaring Dai out of his wits. Formally, they are summoned in a pan of water, from which surface their heads will rise. They say that they will not tell Dai their real names until it is time for him to be in a position of such power, for in their society names mean mastery over the creature named. They may also appear as cranes.
The Maiden is a warrior and clad as such, she gives Dai a spear of obsidian with which to rent his enemies.
The Mother is a Goddess and creator, when blood is spilt she raises small demons to perform Dai's bidding.
The Crone is a seer, carrying a torch, and allows Dai a certain degree of second sight depending on what is most important to him at that moment, varying from five seconds to a few days later.
All these are dependent on the whim of the current summon.
The Maiden, Mother and Crone must always be summoned in order, and their powers may only be used in that order. Note that these are their starting abilities only, since I'm too tired and annoyed what with trying to get my signups out while I have access to a computer to think of what the 'final power up' will be.
Background/History: Has parents and a pretty normal home life. (It's his school life that bothers him.) He is quite protective of his sister Aria. Many boys who have attempted to start going out with her or indeed even return her chocolates on White Day have been on the receiving end of his demonic aura and/or kendo stick.
Other: He has been a friend of Inoue Hotaru and Akai Kasio since they were in grade school. Probably knows the Kazan bunch, as well. Is in the kendo club and unofficially part of the Kazan Ouendan.

Gender: male
Appearance: Standing at an even six foot, Touma is taller, and thus more noticable than the average japanese student, and bears a more tan complexion than most as well. He has blue eyes and slightly messy black hair to the middle of his neck. He's nice looking, but not overly handsome or anything. He almost always wears his school uniform, with one change, in place of the normal school jacket, he has a Kazan Gakuran coat he claimed from a past oppenent, which is adorned with badges and pins and other trinkets from other defeated opponents.
Personality: In short, he's hot blooded and principled. He's determined and gets excited by fights easily, enjoying them thoroughly, but will not hurt a non-combatant, or start a fight with someone weaker than him. Otherwise, he's a fairly nice guy but a slight bit of a loner.
School: Furin
Zodiac Sign: Libra
Power: Familiar - dubbed Kaze-Ou(Wind-king)
Power Description: The familiar stands twenty meters tall, bearing a resemblance to a resplendent white suit of armor inlaid with lines of black, bearing a chain with a set of scales on one end, and a long sword on the other. The helmet section bears a long cloth over where the eye holes of the armor would be, tied into a blindfold. Lastly, it has eight odd, bladed pieces of diamond shaped metal attatched at various points on its body. These can seperate, and fly on their own, being used for long range or even close range strikes, being remotely operated by Touma. (If it's allowed, Kaze-Ou will also be able to fly.)
Background/History:There really isn't much to Touma's history, he comes from a rather average family, and the only unusual thing in his history was his grandfather, who took care of him while his parents worked at their jobs during the day. His grandfather noticed how competitive he could be, and taught him both how to fight, and taught him about how a 'real man' needed to have principles, rules that he would stand by, otherwise he'd be little more than a thug, a rabid animal. He took these lessons to heart, and eventually, his grandfather passed away when he was twelve.

Random Details about NPCs.

NPCs can be created at ANY TIME along the RPG. This makes sense if you think about it, because characters constantly appear and die off (or leave in some form) in most shows, movies, and anime. Later on if you make an NPC and decide to switch it to your main, we will allow that with approval. NPCs need not a detailed signup, BUT if you're switching over you might think of sprucing up your signup form if you didn't put much detail into it.

That being said, I present to you, an NPC!

Name: Thomas Reusbucks
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Appearance: A rather skinny figure, about 5'8" but because of his skinny figure, sometimes seems taller. Has light green hair that is combed over to the side, bangs long enough to cover his eyes if the hair is straight but not so long that it makes him look emo. He has small, trapazoidlike spectacles over his sparkling blue eyes which seem to signify his deep insight. He wears the typical school uniform in a primmed a proper fashion, but similar to B4's character, since he's part of the student council he sometimes wears the white overcoat thingy.
Personality: Apathetic would be the best way for an outside person to describe him. He always seems to not care about what's going on around him and frequently is associated with reading some difficult textbook. People wonder why he's even on the student council when he seems minimally concerned with any of the affairs going on around the school, and for the most part he just sits quietly in meetings without saying a thing. However, a few realize his rather accurate insights into things, and when he does speak his thoughts on an issue they realize most of what he says is correct. For this reason he was (possibly forcibly) elected as the student council president.
Though he seems apathetic he takes issues like schoolwork and personal achievement goals pretty seriously, hence gets high marks in classes and tests. He is also pretty faithful to those he considers his friends, though he may once in a while play jokes and act sarcastically to them (Hi PJBW!).
School: Kazan
Background/History: His parents work in a top-secret research facility and he occasionally gets nice fancy technological gizmos that help out in interesting ways. In particular, he often uses small cubic devices which he can throw and detonate at his command (bluetooth, anyone?). Once detonated, the cubes will emit an immensely blinding light and a horrific shrieking sound for a limited amount of time, stunning anyone in its vincity without protection. Most of his friends in the detective agency (as explained later) has been given protection from these cubes when he uses them. The cubes are not strong and they will only stun for a few minutes, but it's more than enough to make a quick escape when in danger.
He is the president of the student council, and he also secretly runs the Enigmatic Cube Detective Agency, run by him and a few others. The Agency is not known very well but those who are aware of it recognize its remarkable success at figuring out the most complex of mysteries in the school. Their current mission is to discover the source of hostility between the two schools.

Name: Inoue Hotaru [family name first] 井上 蛍
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Appearance: Hotaru of average height, standing at around 5’7”, and he has a slender, almost slight build. His hair is pale blonde, which is odd for a Japanese boy, but for the fact that his birth father was Caucasian, and he keeps it clipped short, to about chin-length, and in a style that flatters his face, which is rather angular with pronounced cheekbones that you could probably cut cheese on. Hotaru has a pair of soft brown eyes which peer out from under lashes that have no rights being on a boy. He is in the habit of batting these eyelashes when he wants something, or when he wants to look cute.
His Furin uniform is simple blazer in the pale, dusky blue of summer wear, but he altered the fabric slightly to make it more lightweight, and he wears that colour all year round, rather than switching to the brighter colours of winter. As a personal touch, Hotaru removed all the buttons from the blazer, preferring to be freer in his movements. He also wears his shirt crinkled (mostly out of laziness), and only buttons it up to the middle of his chest.
Out of school, Hotaru wears tight, faded jeans (but NOT tight-legged ones! No emos here, thankya kindly) and a selection of normal t-shirts.
Personality: Hotaru is changeable in his personality, like the water of his zodiac. He is exceptionally sensitive, and ever a romantic, but in the same breath he is often prone to violent mood-swings, laziness and a horrible tendency to be completely and utterly impractical. If there’s one thing he despises most, it’s being smothered, whether by rigid rules or people in general.
He is also acutely aware of his good looks, and he isn’t averse to using them to get his own way.
Hotaru is flouncy and... well, flouncy is the best way to describe him. He's extremely flamboyant, loves to be in charge of things, and above all, he lives in the moment. Even though he is the Chairman of the Tea Club, Hotaru is incredibly messy and scatty and disorganised to a T.
Zodiac Sign: Pisces
Power: Weapon! Pisces halberd/double-ended-spear-thinger.
Power Description: Hotaru’s weapon is a halberd, basically. It’s double-ended, and resembles a fish tail where each blade tapers off to a point. One points to the left and the other points to the right, and both are bound together with a flowing blue ribbon which wraps around the pole and ties off at the base of each blade, where it meets the pole. The ribbon has enough left over at each end to trail off in a streamer of blue, about half a metre in length, which flutters gracefully when Hotaru uses the blade.
The entire weapon stands at just over 6’ tall, which is taller than Hotaru himself. The pole is a burnished silver in colour, and streaked with turquoise-blue-and-pearl in a complex pattern of waves and spume.
In the centre of the pole, there is an old-looking silver band which splits into two sections. The band is embossed with darkened fish (think dirty metal, here). When twisted sharply, the entire weapon splits into two at this silver band, both blades still joined by their ribbon, which is unseverable (for some reason). The ribbon is long enough for Hotaru to wield both blades with ease, and his movements while using the weapon in this way somewhat resemble a calm ocean, rippling in the breeze, so subtle are his movements.
Back to the blades, the sharp part of each resembles an ornately decorated fish tail, and where they are riveted to the pole is the eye of the fish, with the rest of the blade being embossed with tiny, glittering scales. One of the blades is slightly blue-tinged in colour, while the other one has a distinctly greenish cast, as if viewed under water.
This weapon, apart from being very sharp and pointy, also has another use. If Hotaru detaches the blades and stabs them into the ground, either side of him, he can create a shield of water which envelops him and anyone else within the vicinity of the two blades. The water forms a sort of elongated dome, and lasts for as long as Hotaru concentrates, meaning that if he is distracted in any way, it will immediately collapse as if it were never there.
One further (and final) power associated with the weapon is the ability to stir any body of water into a frenzy, creating a minor whirlpool which can be controlled for a very limited amount of time (it’s hard to control tons of water, ya know). Pisceans are famous for their tendency to be calm one moment and in a fury the next, as with the ocean and as with Hotaru’s halberd.
Background/History: Hotaru’s birth father, Ryu Johnson, was killed in a car accident when Hotaru was two, and his mother, then Johnson Hina, remarried about three years later. Hotaru was brought up from the age of five by his step-father, and his mother, now Inoue Hina, who changed young Hotaru’s family name to Inoue, rather than keep that of his birth father.
Since Hotaru didn’t know his father very well, the accident hardly affected him, since he wasn’t old enough to have formed a real bond. Therefore, he looks upon his step-dad as his real one, although he still burns incense with his mother on the anniversary of Ryu’s death.
Other: Has been good friends with Kasai Akio and Sakamoto Dai since grade school, despite the fact that they both now go to Kazan, and Hotaru attends Furin.
Hotaru is the chairman of the Furin Tea Ceremony Club, where, as you can no doubt guess, he meets with the other members (numbering no less than 10, and no more than 12) three times a week to, well, basically to bring pleasure to girls. (NO NOT THAT WAY YOU PERVERTS!! HOTARU ONLY LIKES MEN) Think Ouran High School Host Club plagiarism!!. This club did not used to be this way. Hotaru changed itttt, bwahahaha. &c. This means we need SOME GIRL CHARACTERS, PEOPLE!!

Name: Doumeki Yumi [Yuu]
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance: About 5'4" in height, with a build on the skinny side of average. Her dark, violet eyes are large, and more often than not have a slightly evil twinkle in them; her mouth is the proverbial cupid's bow. Her black hair is in a layered, longish bob, the hair at the back of her head just brushing the top of her neck and her bangs in front reaching to her shoulders. Her face is generally set in a faintly amused expression, as if there's a joke being told that only she can appreciate. Around her wrists there are twin rosaries made of turquoise.
She wears miko garb (white kimono top, red hakama, and her bangs entwined with white ribbons) when at her shrine, and a lilac yukata patterned with dragons and waves when not, along with geta. Oh yeah, she wears her geta to school, too. However, despite the clacking sound that geta inevitably make, she can move as silently as an assassin when she chooses to. She also likes to pop up when someone is least expecting her.
Personality: Mildly sarcastic and extremely cynical, Yuu makes it a point to tell the truth - or her approximation of it. She is decidedly more intelligent than she seems and is extraordinarily well-informed on the latest happenings due to her 'information network' of ghosts. She has a fatalistic outlook on life, also due to her association with ghosts, although this is tinged with a hint of humour (that is not always funny to the person on the receiving end). When she has put her mind into doing something, she does it thoroughly.
She is overfond of strawberry-flavoured foods and cute things. Her favourite cartoon character is Kogepan. (yes, the burnt bread. lol)
School: Kazan
Background/History: Yuu is the latest in a long line of miko and priests who have traditionally tended a small shrine adjacent to the main one that Satoshi lives in. She is currently the resident miko despite having an older, prettier, more miko-like sister because the older, prettier, more miko-like sister decided she preferred working as an office lady rather than have to act spiritual to visitors and listen to the spirits that hang around the shrine all day. (By the way, her sister's name is Kazuko.) Her parents 'ran away to seek their fortune' (they are currently hosting a weekly television programme about ghosts and haunted houses in the UK, har har har) when Yuu was 8 and Kazuko 14, leaving their children in the care of their paternal grandmother, then the aging miko of the shrine.
Due to this kind of bringing-up Yuu knows rather a lot of the local legends, and has probably, if not certainly heard of the significance of the zodiac signs in their particular region. Is friends with Thomas and part of the Enigmatic Cube Detective Agency. (She's the main procurer of.. information.) Is probably also friends with Gou Ookami aka 'Mr Wolf'. Also quite probably knows Satoshi.
Yuu originally found it hard to make human friends, since it was much easier just to speak with ghosts and spirits, who wanted to speak to her since she could 'hear' them, and was considering dropping out in her first year of high school, since she knew she would inherit the shrine anyway. Along the way something happened with the Enigmatic Cube Detective Agency, and she worked harder at school so she could skip a year to be in the same year as T. T. Reusbucks, whom she calls 'Rippou-kun'.
Among her main informants are a kitsune she calls Tadanobu and numerous bakeneko.
Other: Plays the shamisen. Tends a shrine. Can see (and talk to) ghosts and otherworldly things. May or may not be able to perform exorcism with a bow. Many things that she uses that seem 'everyday' are not really 'everyday' or 'mundane' - her umbrella, for example, has a ghost living in it.

Gender: Female
Appearance: Kalah stands at a mighty height of 5'8, with a rather toned and athletic build. She's decently pale with long, layered blonde hair that always seemed to be large-barreled curled somewhat. Her eyes are an ice-bitten blue that seem to change slightly with her emotions, shifting from light blue to a sea-water green.
Personality: Kalah has a rather exuberant and quirky personality. She's outspoken but generally good natured and seems to have a constant case of 'cheery' within her. However, she's a bit clumsy at times and has many cases of falling down the stairs (which makes her excuses for her occasional injury quite amusing). However, if you cause her to get truly angry or make fun of someone she really cares about, she'll be as angry as a torrential hurricane. She likes to say that she is spunky.
School: Furin
Background/History: Kalah is a foreign exchange student from America. She grew up in a normal family but in the year she exchanged over to Japan, her parents divorced- one of the reasons she forces upon herself an overly cheerful personality. She's been in Japan for a half a year, although her Japanese is broken and pretty bad, and she studies Chinese instead. (Occasionally muttering chinese words when she's in a bad mood). She absolutely adores most of the males in the school, and has been rumored to spy on Inoue Hotaru and his friends, along with a few others.
Other: Kalah works for the School Newspaper, which is trouble in itself. She's good at what she does and no one has the heart to truly get mad at her, because well... she's doing her job at being a reporter. ^_~ It is notable that she can write Japanese, just cannot speak it well. XD

Gender: Female
Appearance:
Naoko is a relatively petite girl; at a straight posture, her height only barely exceeds the 5-foot mark, with her well-proportioned build just as slender. Her coal black hair is kept relatively neat, falling in slight layers down to her collar bone, often wearing a barrette in her hair to hold her cowlick - formed by a slight widow's peak - to the right side; this color still manages to complement her pallid, lightly tanned skin. One can easily imagine, however, that she's only a child; this is, of course, until they see her eyes; twin whirlpools made from dark ink, constantly twisting like her own mind and almost tired of living. This is easily shown in her habit of making direct eye contact when asking a question.

Naoko's school attire is typical of the Furin girl; her blazer, blouse, tie, and skirt are all without personal modifications. Despite her personal loathing of skirts, she sees clothes as clothes and will wait to change. Outside of school, she will wear shorts or jeans with tees, although she has been known to wear flannel and "bleeding Madras" quite often. Aside from her necklace made from hemp rope bearing a cross and a bracelet on her left wrist of puka shells and hemp, Naoko isn't fond of accessories. She also goes interchangeably in wearing her hair down or tying it back away from her face.
Personality: As a water sign, Naoko's emotions will sway at random and vary under different conditions; however, much like the weather under the Scorpio sign (at least in the northern hemisphere), she has also been known to appear icily withdrawn from her peers. Often quiet and keeping to herself, Naoko tries her hardest to not think of herself and how distant help seems to be. Her friends now gone, she feels like a lot of her ideas have gone to waste, especially amongst the peers that feel a constant need to ridicule her for no given reason; her attempts of defending herself had "poisoned" these peers into thinking she's insane. As a result, Naoko has been forced into holding onto a low self-esteem and has since become highly self-conscious, questioning why she was bound to feel the way she does. For now, her main concern is getting out of school alive and reuniting with her friends before it all ends up getting the best of her.

1 - if her concentration is fixed on a body of water long enough, Naoko can derive "visions" from waves or ripples, details becoming more obvious with size. [based off of water divination; I'll remove this if any of the hosts think it's too silly]
2 - Naoko can manipulate and/or freeze small pools of water at her own will, using this often as a mechanism for both offense and defense.
3 - Purifies water to replenish health or to cleanse the body of toxins or poisons [such as a nasty scorpion sting]; weak at first.
Background/History:
Naoko's life had started relatively normal, the second and youngest child of a middle-class family, father in the medical field and mother teaching art at a nearby university. Because of the exposure to such knowledge, Naoko's parents cultured both she and her older sister of 9 years to be talented, having high expectations as their way of wishing for the best for their two daughters. Time went on with this upbringing, though, and Naoko's sister began to fall into a depression for reasons still undefined; almost every day was a "sick day" for her. Although she managed to play it off as if she were okay, she later committed suicide by hanging herself in her own room to first be discovered by an eight year-old Naoko.

Following the death of her sister, Naoko's parents developed an iron grip on their remaining child, as if fearing that she would do the same. The emotional pressure to be perfect grew, and sometimes turned into emotional abuse that involved physical assault and going as far as blaming her for the death of her own sister. Because of this, she began to seek solace in friends she had made from school, most of which were boys two years her superior; her intelligence and talents apparently attracted them to her. Her family moved for monetary benefit and placed her in Furin, resulting in distance between her and her small group of friends; this includes one who promised to try and help her out as soon as he could. Struggling to find a place in a new school and being haunted by visions of what has happened and what could happen, all Naoko can do is dream of a way out.
Other: Being new and so far socially outcasted on the most part, Naoko does she know too terribly much about the Furin-Kazan rivalry other than that it's existent, nor can she find a footing in a club or an organization, despite the occasional pressuring from a classmate - "Inoue HG" is the joking name she uses to refer to him. She has also had some friendly exchanges with Yuko Kazejii and Rika Satou.

Name: Sakamoto Aria
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Appearance: 4'11, young and blooming. Her general appearance seems the essence of brightness in what appears to be a dark and sadistic world. She has long silverywhite hair held back by a simple band and a tinge of bright yellow in her eyes, not unlike her brother's. Her pure white skin seems flawless by nature. She wears the same school uniform in the same fashion as everyone else, a simple blazer, tie and skirt, as well as white stockings; however, she still seems to stands out as an angel almost in a crowd of students. Her casual outfit is typically a simple sundress of pink or yellow color, or if its too cold a sweater with a nice puffy winter coat to keep her warm (mittens too!).
She possibly has a set of small-sized earrings that she constantly wears because she was given them from someone she admires. Most likely her brother. Maybe someone else. Actually it probably is her brother. I'm just typing this so it looks like a longer signup.
Personality: Though understandably a bit frightened at the whole situation, she's the type of cheerful character that keeps a smile and acts polite and optimistic at every moment. She's not oblivious to the dangers around her and does worry about her friends and brother, but generally she has a lot of trust even to strangers and always tries to lighten the mood with a snack or two.
Her personality towards her brother and a few of his friends (note: Hotaru) is significantly more critical than her general attitude towards strangers. She's a bit annoyed at her brother's lack of backbone and significantly worried about the "advances" that some of his male friends makes towards him, moreso than her brother worries about random guys making advances towards her (could you possibly say this is JEALOU nevermind). However, she is fully confident that her brother and his friends are trustworthy and will not take the situation too far... at least not yet. :V
School: Furin. By some random luck (or very strange parents) she and her brother ended up going to different schools.
Zodiac: Doesn't have one but she can be cool like them too. :<
Power: Cooking
Power Description: Has the master ability "Taste Satiation" and is able to satisfy even the most demonic of picky niteaters into eating their vegetables. Those that have ever made her acquaintance and tried any of her meals understands the remarkable strength of her unique talent, able to turn even the most normal of anpan into the utmost Japanese cuisine that would fool anyone into thinking it's a work of art. Her family is truly blessed with the fact that they are able to enjoy her masterpieces night after night, and shrudder with dread at the thought of eating out for ANY reason, ranging from forgetting their lunch to Aria getting sick.

Background/History: Will need more development later. Suffice to say that Dai is her brother (which she respectively calls him Ani-sama) and she is very good friends with Dai's friends.
Why does she go to Furin? Well first off, leave it to the parents to not understand the situation the students are in for both these schools. It's not that they're blind to what's going on, but it most likely involves a past issue with the parents going to their respective schools. Very likely in the past one of the parents had gone to one school while the other has the opposing school, possibly have a great amount of events occur which we do not know and we may not want to know, and ended up together. Therefore whether its an adapted tradition to be going to different schools or because the parents are just sadistic, the siblings go to different schools.
At first both siblings protested, especially with the situation the school is now in. However, Dai realized (possibly wrongly) that at the very least his good friend Hotaru would protect any type of harassment if she goes to Furin. Therefore, Aria goes to Furin with minimal troubles under the (relative) protection of Hotaru, in exchange for..."tolerating" his tea club activities.
Also, every morning she visits a small little shrine accross the street from a bigger shrine. She seems to find that shrine more homely. She's good friends with the shrine priest there.
Other: She usually goes to the cooking club after school. In the sad case she does not have club activities while Hotaru does... well... you'll see.

Name: Makoto Sayuri 誠小百合
Age: 16
Gender: Femaaaaale
Appearance: Stands at dead on 5’10, Sayuri is tall for her age. Her hair is flaming red, extremely thick and curly, and reaches to just below her shoulders. It’s very layered, so that no piece is the same length, and she has a side parting, so that most of her bangs (?) fall over her right eye.
Sayuri is green-eyed and slim, and she prefers to wear Furin’s green blazer, to accentuate her eyes and hair.
Personality: Sayuri can be loud at times, but with strangers she lapses into quietness. She is sarcastic, loves to tell jokes and, above all, takes her role as Furin’s resident fangirl with the utmost seriousness. She can often be seen heard squealing over some adorable new yaoi, or pretty boys, or her favourite J-rocker in a voice so high-pitched it could shatter bricks.
She gets hyper at the drop of a hat, and, should this happen, she will laugh and laugh for hours with no ceasing.
Is an avid follower and member of the Furin Tea Ceremony Club, and their halls are often ringing with Sayuri’s loud squeals of happiness.
Has been known to gorge herself to the point of sickness on cake and ice cream.
School: Furin
Background/History: Sayuri was adopted into a Japanese family as a baby, hence her Japanese name and red hair/green eyes. She doesn’t know that she’s adopted, but she suspects as much, considering how different she looks to the rest of her school. She speaks Japanese fluently, as she was so young when she was adopted.

I also have noticed that there are very many people with red hair. I am debating on changing my character's hair color, for the sheer purpose being that I wanted him to be different with the red hair thing. XD Maybe blue? For irony's sake? XD

Well you can change the depth and intensity of the redness (I sound like I'm talking about photoshop). There are colors all over the rainbow and with an RPG with so many characters (including NPCs) so it wouldn't be unusual for one person to have the same hair color.


In general my character's hair isn't firey red, as that would emphasize more ambition and excitement. Her hair is more the type that flows and "permeates", so to speak, like pulsing blood, giving more of a feeling of repulsion yet mystification.

Also, Akio's hair color is not the typical orange-red that we see in normal, natural humans these days. His hair is a fiery red, that seems to glow with an inner warmth and is as a brilliant as fire itself! I'm gonna say when the sun shines it or it is in the right light, seems to have a lusterious mixture of various orange and yellow hues as well, like a fire!

Anyway, as I already told WO, we would definately need something like a lounge because with NPCs coming and going in the RPG it would be hard to keep track if we had to keep looking back in previous posts to find the RPG signup. So all the NPC signups will be located and updated in the lounge, and anyone can go and there and decide which NPC they want to use in their post for that day.
