    Default Interesting Item/Move + Move Combos..

    I've been looking over the move/item lists for RuSa and after some time, I've come across some interesting prospects for movesets and such..

    Let's take a look. Remember, some of these WILL BE STUPID. I'm not a vet, just a curious trainer with too much spare time. All my suggestions are just food for thought.

    1. Torment + Encore
    Devious, really.. ruling that using the same attack twice in a row is illegal, then making them do it. Would be nice if combined with Perish Song and some trapping move/ability.

    2. Substitute/Spore + Focus Punch/Solarbeam
    I have this on my Breloom, very nice.

    3. Wish + Belly Drum/Curse
    Self-explanatory. Keeps you from dying right after using either of the moves.

    4. White Herb + Overheat/Superpower/etc.
    Haven't tested this out. White Herb prevents the lowering of your Pokemon's stats.. does this include moves that inflict those effects from your own Pokemon?

    5. Synchronize + Lum Berry
    You get paralyzed/burned/poisoned, then your opponent gets it, then you get healed.

    6. Serene Grace + Crush Claw/Luster Purge/Sacred Fire
    I don't think this could fit on anyone, but I just felt like listing it.

    7. Own Tempo + Berserk Gene
    Don't know if this works.. Berserk Gene doubles your attack, Own Tempo prevents confusion.

    8. Taunt + Revenge
    Makes your opponent hit you; let them pay the price.

    9. Snatch + Swagger
    Double your attack; confuse your enemy. I have NO idea if this works.

    10. *cough* Belly Drum + Agility + Baton Pass -> Shedinja *cough*

    11. Mind Reader/Lock-On + OHKO move + Shell Bell
    How much HP does Shell Bell give you?

    12. Ingrain + Baton Pass
    Okay, my combos are getting stupid now. I put this one up for the hell of it.

    13. Natural Cure/Early Bird + Rest
    Been there, done that, right?

    14. Rock Head + Volt Tackle/Double-Edge
    *yawns* *everyone falls asleep in one turn* Uhh..

    15. Soundproof + Mean Look + Perish Song
    Does it work?

    16. Truant + Blast Burn/Hydro Cannon/Frenzy Plant/Hyper Beam
    WOO.

    17. Hustle + Shockwave/Magical Leaf/Shadow Punch/etc.
    Not as exciting, but hey.

    18. Speed Boost + Baton Pass
    Been there, done that, once again.


    Umm, that's it for the moment.. can't think of anything. Add/comment/suggest or whatever.

    I like the White Herb + Superpower/Overheat idea, and I just tested it with my Regirock. It works, but white Herb only worked once...

    Hmm... now I lost White Herb... OMG don't tell me it's a one-use item!!! Where do you get more? ...

    Anyway, I've been told that Speed Boost + Baton Pass doesn't work. It only works for Ninjask.

    Own Tempo + Berserk Gene, although I haven't tried it, should definitely work.

    The Soundproof + Mean Look + Perish Song combo sounds great... but only a few unobtainables can actually make use of it. A combination of pokemon should make this effective.

    A Gengar or Jynx with Mean Look + Perish Song + Skill Swap can swap the soundproof characteristic of Mr. Mime/Voltorb/Electrode/Whismur/Loudred/Exploud.

    This works well in 2v2, too. But if you skill swap your soundproof partner and use Perish Song, it will die if you use Perish Song... so, after skill swapping, switch the once-soundproof partner to... something else.

    Or better yet, don't use Skill Swap. Have one soundproof partner and a perish song user. Use perish song, switch the perish song user to a mean looker, and then trap the two other pokemon so they can't switch. The soundproof partner and the newly switched pokemon are not affected by Perish Song.

    It requires some Baton Passing (BP) in 1v1, though.

    Have Ariados/Umbreon use Spider Web/Mean Look, then BP to Absol/Celebi, which uses Perish Song, and then BP to Electrode/Exploud/Mr. Mime (Soundproof).

    Problem: Only unobtainables can trap and BP... I think. Umbreon and Ariados.

    Hey, keeping that in mind, why not Baton Pass a Mean Look/Spider Web to Shedinja?

    That's a good idea.

    But Shedinja doesn't have Perish Song, nor does it have Mean Look or Soundproof, so Shedinja can't play a part in the Mean Look + Perish Song + Soundproof chain.

    i've been told that this doesn't work, so im assuming that the berserk gene concept won't either. to bad too since hypno can't curse, rest, nor be caught legally making him THE worst fully evolved pokemon with bad stat placement, far worse than sunflora.

    trick + liquid ooze + shell bell
    i nearly cried when i found out that neither tentacruel nor swalot couldn't get trick through breeding. not only that, i dont know if shell bell effects liquid ooze, but theoretically this trait would make the opponent constantly damage itself when it attacks you. also, shell bell heals you by 1/8 the TOTAL damage inflicted. id REALLY like to see this combonation in effect, if it ever does come around.

    those are the two that i thought up, as others kind of fell through as people kept posting, like ninjask and the accelerate trait.

    What I meant was BPing a Mean Look/Spider Web to Shedinja when you know the opposing Pokemon has no moves that can harm Shedinja. Watching a 1HP Pokemon demolish anything (preferably a Slaking or Kyogre) as it helplessly cannot escape.

    Alright, they might have recovery moves, but that's besides the point!

    Snatch and swagger would not work. Snatch only works if the opponent is about to use a stat-raising move on itself. It steals that move and uses it on yours. Furthermore, it only works if the opponent uses such a move the same turn, so even if it did somehow take the boost from swagger, you would have to be able to use snatch and swagger in ONE turn, before the opponent can make any move.

    that would work, i actually had this on the first team i made like 5 months ago when only the Japanese version was out

    Shell Bell gives 1/8 damage. Meaning, Fissuring a Hariyama gives ya a lot of HP. A Shedinja not so much. The game rounds up, so you always get at least 1 HP.

    Anyway, I've been told that Speed Boost + Baton Pass doesn't work. It only works for Ninjask.

    It does work. You pass all the speed boosts, but the characteristic stays on Ninjask.

    trick + liquid ooze + shell bell

    Nope. Shell Bell doesn't suck HP from the opponent, it heals you and leaves the opponent alone. Liquid Ooze only works with the "HP-sucking" moves such as Giga Drain and Leech Seed.

    Nope, that wouldn't work since Inner Focus just keeps you from flinching. When a Pokemon is hit during the charge-up of Focus Punch, the Pokemon "loses its focus" but doesn't actually flinch. Thus, Inner Focus has no effect on Focus Punch.

    Awesome idea! Finally, a real purpose for Slaking! Plus, now Slaking actually attacks every turn... I love it!

    Here are a couple of mine:

    Mega or Giga Drain/Dream Eater + Shell Bell = 5/8 of the damage you deal heals you; combine with Leech Seed, and it's not too bad.

    Shell Bell + Counter/Mirror Coat = Well, it would be cooler if Shell Bell healed you by half of the damage, because then, you'd be fully healed every time... but sadly, it doesn't work that way. Oh well.

    Shell Bell + any attack with recoil damage = Less recoil damage. W00t. I like that Shell Bell.

    Yea, I was bored and was looking through my TM's and found Skill Swap and taught it to Slaking, and with Slakings High attack Focus Punch almost always hits.

    Wow..
    Just.. wow..

    Utter brilliance. If that actually works, that combo could destroy so many teams if used at the right time. Wow, I'm excited! Or something..

    Jeebus, I'm so stoopid. Slaking can't learn Skill Swap.

    2ra are you sure you used Skill Swap on Slaking with the actual TM on the actual cart? Cause I'm like 100% Slaking can't learn Skill Swap. Oh and Shedinja is immune to Skill Swap.

    I hate to disapoint you, but I believe that Wonder Guard doesn't work with Skill Swap... or else you could have a Wonder Guard Sableye... and THAT would be O_o

    Dr Crocodile is right, Slaking can not get Skill Swap.

    For Shell Bell, I don't believe you would recover health after using a OHKO. It never states how much damage is done, it just says "It's a One Hit KO!" or something along those lines.
