Serious breeding problem...

AARRRGHHH!!!!! I spent about 4 hours training this worthless Swablu to get a Level 40 Altaria to breed Dragon Dance onto Bagon. I FINALLY get it, and the old geezer at the breedin center says they don't seem to like each other. The Altaria is male, the Bagon is female, it SAYS on Pokemon Forever they're in the same egg group, so why won't they breed?

Well just because the guy says they dont like eachother doesnt mean that there unbreedable it just takes more steps for them to produce an egg, the only way you know that there unbreedable is when the guy says that they seem to like other pokemon, jus bike around mauville and the other town a couple of times and they produce an egg pretty quick

Just because he says "they don't seem to like each other" doesn't mean they won't breed. If he says "they prefer to play with other pokes" then they won't breed. So just hop on your Mach Bike and wait for the eggs. Once you get your first one, don't stop, keep going. That way you get more than one egg in less time. That way if you don't like the ev's, nature, and what-not, you have more than one egg.

They don't like each other.
Translation: They are compatible and will breed. It may take as little
as one trip from Mauville and Verdanturf or a lot more. This is the
minimum saying when compatible Pokémon have the same trainer ID. IF you
don't get an egg right away just be patient and keep walking around.
You will get an Egg sooner or later. Another suggestion is to go to
Victory road and level up a pokemon that does not have an egg group
(such as ledgendaries). Level up the pokemon a level then go back and
you should have an egg waiting
