I haven't gotten GameInformer in like three months because of an address change or something, which means I'm totally clueless about all the hot new titles out.

Demon's Souls? Sorry, no clue what it's about.

Bayonetta? No dice, dunno about it.

Brutal Legend? I have no knowledge on the subject.

Red Faction: Guerrilla? All I know is that it looks like it's misspelled.

Borderlands? Seen the cover a billion times. Know nothing of the game itself.

And just 5 minutes ago on /v/ I see some guy asking whether to play CoD: Modern Warfare 2 or Torchlight this week. What in the name of flying crap is Torchlight?

Since GI has left me high and dry, can some kind soul hook me up with info on this sorta thing? I'd like to not have a 5 month backlog when Christmas rolls around this year.

I really would suggest Kotaku, I go to it multiple times each day as they are just good at giving you up to date info.

I don't know what GI says about those games, I know Famitsu gave Bayonetta a perfect score and that Borderlands is supposed to be some amazing game where you can make near unlimited amount of weapon combos and hunt with friends to get equipment drops.

I'd do just a quick run down of all the games and the whatever buzz they may have.

Demon Souls - PS3 Exclusive. A soul crushingly hard RPG published by Atlus. Possibly the best reviewed JRPG of the generation.

Bayonetta - An action game in the vein of Devil May Cry and God of War from the creator of DMC. Said to be completely over the top and insane. The PS3 version is rumored to have a lot of technical problems.

Brutal Legend - Tim Schafer's newest game. Star's Jack Black as a heavy metal roadie using the power of rock and roll to defeat enemies. Reviews for it say it's good but flawed.

Red Faction: Guerrilla - 3rd game in the Red Faction series. Open world FPS with highly destructible environments. Many players suggest playing on the easy difficulty because the harder ones just aren't fun.

Borderlands - A FPS RPG. It's suppose to be like diablo just a shooter. A lot of word of mouth is expected to make this game a strong seller during the holiday season.

Torchlight - I actually have a topic about this game posted. It's a diablo style game from ex-diablo developers. Very good and only $20.

demons souls is definitely the hardest game ever.

brutal legend is fun as hell, definitely a good game to pick up if you like action and comedy and rock.

borderlands is fun co-op fps rpg.

i've heard good things about torchlight.

famitsu has been known to get paid off by companies to produce high scores on games. check out all the final fantasy scores. 12 > all of them? LOL

i would avoid the others.

Well Blade your in luck because there's a hot new invention that may help you out in this matter!
It's pretty nifty......I hear it's called an "internet" and that using it you can search out almost ANYTHING you can think of! Amazing isn't it?!

But seriously bro......nowadays most game mags are pretty much a waste of money in my opinion. The only reason I myself currently have a GI subscription is because it came free with my Edge card at Gamestop. If it's gaming news then without a doubt it'll be posted somewhere online. In most cases you'll read it before GI goes to press. Case in point look at World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. It didn't even get mentioned in GI until either the September or October issue. Even then it was the most basic of details and didn't even take up a whole page. Getting back to the subject at hand in the event that it's a website such as IGN that'll make you pay for certain content then no biggie. Said video will somehow find it's way to You Tube.
