Favourite Pokemon tunes!

Okay, guys! Whether we're talking music from the games, anime, promotional CDs, fandom, whatever... what are some of your favourite Pokemon tunes?

Now, the RBY Route 1 theme, I've got to say, will always have a special place in my heart... and my head. Which is to say, I still do this day find myself humming this particular tune on a semi-regular basis. It has to be the most maddeningly, amazingly chipper tune in the world. Same goes for the Gen I Pokemon Center theme. And the bicycle theme. And about a kajillion others, probs.

Another staple: the original Pokemon theme. Holy shit, that song is easy to love. My friends and I may/may not have gotten a talking to from some RAs during our first year in residence about drunkenly singing that song, but I'm pretty sure they were just jealous that they're so unattached to the wonders of their childhoods. Also, the original Johto theme is decent, too. (I'm sure these songs have names that I could look up... I am just lazy.)

Aaaaand, finally, let's not forget the Pokerap. Original only, plz. The random banter between the two middle-aged men singing it really makes it kind of amazing.

Pfft, get you lot and your old school tunes. xD I've gotta say, my favourite is definitely the BW music, team Plazma's tune rocks 'ya socks off! And so does the battling reshiram theme (reminds me of 3rd gen, me likey!), and Dennis's (ghetsis) is pretty entertaining and somewhat epic... The list goes on Oh yeah, an honourable mention has to be the third gen champion theme, but remixed. Epicsauce.

There's rarely ever going to be a scene quite as uplifting and lighthearted as that little 8-bit jingle playing as you zoom across cities and through dense forests and great prairies on your bike.

Back when we were kids, and we looked up to the original trio of Ash, Misty, and Brock, back together again, and continuing their journey. It wouldn't end. And it shouldn't have...

I love how the bicycle theme is all light and jolly while Red's face in that still just screams CYCLING IS SERIOUS BUSINESS, FUCKERS. :|

My favourite tune from RBY was definitely Route 7, the one to the east of Vermilion City. It's pretty cool. Don't try looking for it on Youtube, there's nothing but a whole lot of walkthroughs and some obnoxious moron making horrible noises.

Gold/Silver is an easy one! It's simply just an awesome little ditty, I love how adventurous they got with their music on the GBC. It still sounds like Game Boy sounds, but the wild way they use them is crazy. Lucky Number Show, baby! When I was hatching eggs, I would put this on, then just do laps.


BW provided such an amazingly beautiful tune that blew me away. I'm talking of course about Village Bridge. It was such a tiny little insignificant part of the game, but I found myself spending loads of time here, just so that I could hear this song.


As for offshoot series, and this one may actually rank as my favourite Pokemon tune overall, actually, is the Club Master Duel music from the TCG. Pokemon has done some epic battle tunes before, but this one... it was just so regal, and exciting, and epic! Which is funny, considering that it's just a bunch of nerds sitting around playing a card game. But still. I would love for it to get a revival some day.

Anyway, those are two of my favorites from the classic games, probably because they both capture that same sense of adventure. I love how HG/SS stayed close to the original in its remix of the Route 26/27 theme...


but the other one was a WTF, they slowed it way down...
