    Default Xiaolin Showdown! Ash0011 vs. Emerald_Gen.3 [Ref: BTPoke]

    Alright, this is a little (lol jk, it’s huge) idea I’ve had that spawned from re-watching all 3 seasons of Xiaolin Showdown. This will be like a regular pokemon battle, but with a special twist. Both battlers will be partaking in what is called a “Xiaolin Showdown.” (fitting name, right?)
    What’s a Xiaolin Showdown, you ask? Well, a Xiaolin Showdown is a special challenge that can happen when two (or more. There have been many special cases in the show) reach an impasse over a Shen Gong Wu that each wish to obtain. Each warrior wagers a Shen Gong Wu that they will use in that showdown.

    Now I bet you’re wondering, if you haven’t seen the show, what ARE Shen Gong Wu? Well, Shen Gong Wu are magical items that can perform specific tasks depending on what Wu you’re using.

    For example, this is one of the Shen Gong Wu that is called the "eye of dashi." It pretty much shoots lightning....
    Anyway, there are plenty of Shen Gong Wu, with many different abilities that come with them.

    I have my own specific list of Shen Gong Wu that I have on the side, so I will tell you later what each of them do. In the instance of this pokemon battle, each shen gong wu will allow you to use a specific kind of move(s), among other special abilities.
    This battle will be a 5-showdown 5v5 battle, with each trainer being given 9 Shen Gong Wu (chosen at random) that they can wager. One Trainer will challenge the other to a Xiaolin Showdown (For the first Showdown, the trainer issuing the challenge will be chosen at random), and will be able to choose what Wu each side wagers. I will randomly choose the Wu you are both fighting over, and whoever wins the showdown gets to keep their wagered Wu, earns the fought-over Wu, and earn their opponent’s wagered Wu (all of which you can wager again).

    When one person challenges another, the person being challenged gets to choose the “name of the game.” (For instance, there was this one “game” in the show where the first one to find a needle in a haystack wins… it was more complicated than it seemed.)The showdown itself (Read: Me) will set the arena, and the showdown will begin. Believe me when I say that when the showdown sets an arena, it REALLY will set an arena. No matter the game, the showdown will make it about ten times harder than it would at first seem.
    Now, I do realize that this all seems very complicated. However, if you know the show even a little bit, you’ll know how it goes (I mean, really, watch the first episode alone and you’ll know at least the basics. There’s this one guy on youtube that has all 3 seasons in relatively great quality).

    Just to make everything a bit more fair, allow me to explain one term that those who know the show a lot would probably know.
    Shen Yi Bu Dare = You and your opponent each wager 2 Shen Gong Wu. Either opponent may call a Shen Yi Bu Dare before each showdown.

    Rules for match
    Arena: Xiaolin Temple
    As any other temple would be, this temple is a serene area, complete with wooden buildings aplenty, courtyard (complete with a fountain in the center), and a vault filled to the brim with Shen Gong Wu (which is off-limits!). There is a training course that is filled with many obstacles, if you’re feeling daring.
    This would be the main hub between showdowns, so there’s really no need to pay attention to much here. The arenas will be “randomly” generated by the ref (that being me).

    Conditions for winning: The person with the most Wu at the end of the 5 Showdowns wins!
    Also keep in mind that, if a Pokemon is Ko’ed, they automatically lose a showdown for obvious reasons.

    Wow, talk about tl;dr. If anyone has any questions, I'll answer them.
    So what do you say? Considering I know a lot about the show from my extensive watching of the show, I'll be reffing. Once we have 2 battlers, I'll P.M. you each your 9 Shen Gong Wu (along with what they do)

    I would but I'm full
    I do know about xiaolin showdown though, I do prefer the Jackie Chan adventures though, (xiaolin showdown seems a lot like it) I'll tell you if I figure out that I actually do have an open spot (might)
    Edit: ok I think I can do this if we don't count the pokerace as a battle (I'm not gonna, taking waaaaaaaay too long to decide on it) so I'm in

    Ok, I guess we can start things (yay)

    For anyone who is sad that they didn't get to battle in this, I'll probably do it again sometime.

    Alright. I'll go ahead and post your Wu.

    Who Has What Wu

    Emerald's Wu:
    1. The Wushan Geyser:A Shen Gong Wu that can erase an opponent's memory
    2. The Changing Chopsticks: Shrinks the user down to the size of a grain of rice (same effect as "minimize" multiplied by 2)
    3. The Gils of Hamachi: Allows the user to breathe underwater
    4. The Star of Hanabi: A star that allows the user to shoot fire (flame power equivalent of "flamethrower")
    5. The Mantis Flip Coin: A coin that allows the user to "flip" with the skill of a mantis
    6. The Shadow Slicer: A disc-shaped Shen Gong Wu that creates illusionary clones of the user

    Ash's Wu:
    1. The Reversing Mirror: A mystical mirror that reverses anything that is directed towards it
    2. The Fancy Feet: Grants the user the ability to run at high speeds
    3. The Ruby of Ramses: Allows the user to move objects without touching them
    4. The Eye of Dashi: A pendant that releases bolts of energy (equivalent of "thunderbolt")
    5. The Longi Kite: A kite that allows its user to fly
    6. The Shroud of Shadows: A cloak that makes its user invisible
    7. The Golden Tiger Claws: A set of claws that allow its user to rip open a wormhole that can transport them anywhere they choose
    8. The Woozy Shooter: Creates a misty haze that makes the victim act "goofy" (pretty much the equivalent of Confuse Ray)
    9. The Lasso Boa Boa: This Shen Gong Wu, when used, turns into a snake that constricts the victim.
    10. The Fist of Tebigong: A metal gauntlet that is strong enough to crack the earth (smashing the ground with this would cause an earthquake)
    11. The falcon's eye: Allows the user to see through solid objects (and allows usage of "foresight")
    12. The Crystal Glasses: Allows the user to see into the near future to foresee the opponent's movements.
    13. The Silk Spitter: A Shen Gong Wu that shoots a sticky silk webbing
    14. The Mobi Morpher: Allows the user to transform into any non-legendary pokemon

    Alright. In addition to your pokemons' normal moves, you can use your Shen Gong Wu (always takes up an action) to do various things. Again, if there are any questions, please let me know and I will answer them.

    Now I will randomly generate the person that issues the challenge: Emerald

    So here's how it's gonna go.

    Emerald will first send out his pokemon, then Ash will send out his pokemon.
    Emerald will then be the one to choose who wagers what Shen Gong Wu
    Ash will then be the one to choose the "name of the game"

    The Shen Gong Wu you will be fighting over is: The Crystal Glasses - Allows the user to see into the future.
    Once the "name of the game" is stated, the arena will set. Afterwards, you can issue moves.

    Oh, wait, I don't know if I mentioned this, but:
    Emerald, when you wager wu, you also say what wu you're wagering against (I.E. what wu Ash is wagering)
    Likewise, Ash, when you call a Shen Yi Bu Dare, you also say what other Wu Emerald is wagering.

    For example:
    Emerald: "Ash0011, I challenge you to a Xiaolin Showdown. My Fist of tebigong versus your *insert name of Ash's Wu here*"
    Ash0011: "Fair Enough. I challenge you to a Shen Yi Bu Dare. My ruby of Ramses against your *insert name of Emerald's Wu here*"

    Again, don't know if I mentioned that. If I didn't, then I'm sorry.

    So really, Emerald would say what he AND ash would wager for the original showdown, and Ash would say what he AND emerald would also wager for the Shen Yi Bu Dare.

    Also, that youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/XiaolinS.../videos?view=0

    And yes, the stepping stone showdown was in the first episode

    Great, now I feel guilty that you guys probably need to do that over again! xD sorry about that, but let's try that again? I guess?

    It's a quiet, serene day in the Xiaolin temple, as two young monks appear at two opposite ends of the main courtyard.
    In the middle of the courtyard is the Shen Gong Wu known as "The Crystal Glasses."

    A man who appears to be the referee comes out with a scroll, opens it up to the two warriors, and says:

    "The Shen Gong Wu you are fighting over today is the Crystal Glasses. This Shen Gong Wu allows the wearer to see into the future."

    Both Trainers release their pokemon;

    Ash using his Lucario, and Emerald using his Diglett.
    As both the pokemon are let out of the pokeballs, the both of them make their way towards the Crystal Glasses. In seconds, both pokemon touch the Glasses at the same time, and the Shen Gong Wu begins to glow with a magical glow.

    Emerald is the first to respond by saying, "Ash, I challenge you and your pokemon to a Xiaolin Showdown! My Fist of Tebigong versus your Ruby of Ramses."
    Ash, wanting to get ahead quickly, says "I also challenge YOU to a Shen Yi Bu Dare. My Fancy Feet versus your Falcon's Eye.
    "The game is Stepping Stones. First one to the Crystal Glasses wins!"

    The two monks walk up next to their pokemon and yell "Let's go! Xiaolin Showdown!"

    Flashes of light fill both warriors' visions as the landscape around them begins to change. The stones that litter the courtyard become larger, and one by one they shoot up out of the ground to float up high in the air.
    The stones that the warriors stand upon float out to the sidelines as the pokemon appear on two stones that appear to be the first of a line of scattered, floating stones.

    It appears that there are around 50 stones between the pokemon and the end of the course, which is a stone that holds the Crystal Glasses.

    The voice of the Referee appears as if out of nowhere, "Gong Yi Tempai!"
    At the two warriors and their pokemon's blank expressions, the voice appears again as it says "that means go."

    Team Ash
    Wu Count = 9

    @Arena Trap
    HP= 100/100
    EP= 100/100
    -Fist of Tebigong-
    -Falcon's Eye-
    Distance: 0/50
    Fist of Tebigong x2

    Round 1

    At their trainers' commands, the pokemon begin the challenge!
    Being the faster of the two, Ricario is the first to start things off by pulling out his two Shen Gong Wu. He puts on the Fancy Feet while the Ruby of Ramses remains in his hand. Both Shen Gong Wu begin to glow as he uses an Extremespeed and Magnet Rise. Boosted by these, Ricario performs an extremely long jump that aims to get him towards the Crystal Glasses.

    Meanwhile, Quaker decides to use her own Shen Gong Wu (firmly planted upon her head) to punch the ground with the intent of creating a fissure into the earth. However, with the absence of the earth (Note: As stated before, the stones are floating. It's not pillars, unlike the first episode.), Quaker DOES succeed in crushing the stone she was planted on into several shards of rock. Afterwards, though, she punches the shards with the Fist once more. This sends the shards careening into Ricario. Ricario barely has any time to quickly shoot off an aura sphere before getting hit off-course.
    Left without anything to be seated on, Quaker falls onto a rock that's at a lower elevation before getting hit by the Aura Sphere. Meanwhile, Ricario luckily lands on a rock that's roughly 30 stones away from the Crystal Glasses.
    [Ricario: -8 health; -22 energy; +20 distance ¦ Quaker: -12 health; -15 energy; +0 distance]

    ¦ Post-Round ¦

    Team Ash

    Ricario M
    @Steadfast
    HP= 92/100
    EP= 78/100
    *Magnet Bomb
    -Ruby of Ramses-
    -Fancy Feet-
    Distance: 20/50

    Team Emerald

    Quaker F
    @Arena Trap
    HP= 88/100
    EP= 85/100
    -Fist of Tebigong-
    -Falcon's Eye-
    Distance: 0/50

    Emerald to post next

    Ref notes:
    -As stated before, you are floating in the air on stones. As a result, some types of moves might bring about an unintended result.
    -Gotta say, reffing these is gonna be a bit different than the average pokemon battle. I pretty much combined the three turns into one for the sake of convenience in at least this one round.
    -Also keep in mind that, even though this is also a Xiaolin Showdown, it's still a pokemon battle.
    That means 3 moves per round, and one Shen Gong Wu usage takes up a turn just like a pokemon move would. It's either one or the other. "Boosting" moves using your Shen Gong Wu will register to your pokemon as "Use the Shen Gong Wu"

    I understand that you feel that you may have been "cheated" out of a magnet rise, but I did mention before that Shen Gong Wu usage takes up a turn. I guess it's kind of my fault, 'cause I didn't really foresee that you guys would try to "boost" your moves with the Shen Gong Wu, and I should have explained things a bit more.

    Also, for your other question, I'm assuming you mean that episode with the Shen Yi Bu Switcheroo?

    That Shen Yi Bu Switcheroo stuff may have happened in that one episode, but in any other Shen Yi Bu Dare that appears, the switcheroo stuff doesn't happen. The Switcheroo was just a little extra rule for that one showdown.

    then can using the Shen Gong Wu not cost any/as much energy to even it out (unless you're using a specific move)
    also can the Shen Yi Bu Switcheroo be an extra element you can call in a Shen Yi Bu Dare?

    Believe me, you guys would have used up a bit more energy had you not used the Shen Gong Wu. It just looks like a lot, considering I kind of combined 3 turns into one for this round.

    Yes. In that first Shen Yi Bu Dare episode, Rai said at the last second "How about we switch Shen Gong Wu every now and again?"
    So yeah, that's how that would be done.

    Xiaolin Showdown!
    Ash0011 vs. Emerald_Gen.3

    Team Ash

    Ricario M
    @Steadfast
    HP= 92/100
    EP= 78/100
    *Magnet Bomb
    -Ruby of Ramses-
    -Fancy Feet-
    Distance: 20/50
    Magnet Rise + ExtremeSpeed ~ Aura Sphere

    Team Emerald

    Quaker F
    @Arena Trap
    HP= 88/100
    EP= 85/100
    -Fist of Tebigong-
    -Falcon's Eye-
    Distance: 0/50
    Mud Bomb ~ Mud Slap ~ AncientPower

    Round 1

    Deciding to not use their Shen Gong Wu, our two combatants continue to move forward.... well, except Quaker really doesn't seem capable of moving at this point

    Ricario starts things off by going with his previous plan of using Magnet rise and ExtremeSpeed to shoot himself farther forward. Quaker attempts to shoot a Mud Bomb at him, but Ricario moves too fast, and the Mud Bomb just ends up missing. In the end, Ricario ends up moving forward a considerable amount, but no quite enough to reach the glasses.
    You know, Quaker's gonna have to do something to even move forward one stone. Although I don't see that happening, considering she's rooted to the ground.
    [Ricario: -16 energy; +25 Distance; Magnet Rise (5 turns) ¦ Quaker: -8 energy; +0 Distance]

    Gotta say, things look incredibly bleak for Quaker. She attempts to launch some more mud at Ricario, but there's absolutely no way for it to hit, considering the immense distance between them.

    Jumping the final stretch to the crystal glasses, Ricario launches off one last aura sphere towards Quaker. The sphere hits the rock beneath her, and the rock disintegrates into tiny pieces. Quaker begins falling just to see Ricario grabbing the Crystal Glasses from where they rest. As Ricario makes contact with the glasses, they begin to glow with a blindingly bright light. Once the light clears, the two combatants are left standing in the temple courtyard, with Ricario holding the Ruby of Ramses, Fancy Feet, Fist of Tebigong, Falcon's Eye, and Crystal Glasses. A fine win for Ash and his pokemon.
    [Ricario: -8 energy; +5 distance ¦ Quaker: -8 energy; +0 distance]

    Showdown 1/5 Complete
    Ash: +3 Shen Gong Wu
    Emerald: -2 Shen Gong Wu

    Shen Gong Wu Count
    Ash:12 Shen Gong Wu
    Emerald: 7 Shen Gong Wu

    Order for next matchup (just to be clear):
    Ash Releases his next Pokemon
    Emerald Releases his next Pokemon
    Ash Challenges Emerald to a showdown (and chooses what wu he will wager + what wu he's wagering against)
    Emerald Chooses "Name of the game"

    Also, the wu you'll be fighting over this time is:

    The Moby Morpher - This Shen Gong Wu allows the user to transform into (virtually) anything. We'll have it knocked down a bit to make it so that it only allows you to transform into any non-legendary pokemon, but it's still a good wu to have.

    Ref Notes/comments:
    -Just in an attempt to make sure that not every showdown is a "Shen Yi Bu Dare," only the person being challenged can call a dare.
    -YEAH, that was a rather one-sided matchup, wasn't it? xD
    -Also, I'm going to be updating the Post in this thread that says who has what wu so that we can have a reference.

    alright, I don't know how I'm ever going to implement the game of CHESS into Anime-style-battling, so how about we we just do this:
    Both warriors will have to protect a stone monument (aka the "king"). First pokemon to destroy the opponent's "king" wins. That sound good?

    Oh, Dino army would just be too complicated xD
    Sorry 'bout that

    Showdown 2

    As the next two pokemon from opposite ends of the same evo tree prepare for battle, the next Shen Gong Wu is set in the center of the courtyard by the referee, who brings out the scroll once more.

    The scroll is opened up to the warriors as the ref says
    "The Shen Gong Wu you will be competing over is the Moby Morpher. It allows the user to change into any shape."

    The two pokemon, armed with their respective Shen Gong Wu, step up to the Moby Morpher and touch it at the same time.
    Instantaneously, the Moby Morpher begins to glow with a golden light.

    It is now ash's turn to issue the showdown by saying, "Emerald, we challenge you to a Xiaolin Showdown! My Reversing Mirror against your Silk Spitter!"

    Emerald responds by saying, "The game is 'King's Gambit.' First to destroy the opponent's 'king' wins."

    Then they say at the same time, "Let's go. Xiaolin Showdown!"

    The Moby Morpher's glow begins to increase in intensity, and the arena changes instantly. 2 Tyrannosaurus statues appear out of nowhere, and the courtyard of the temple rises up into the air, carrying the challengers and statues with it.

    Once the arena stops moving, and the platform set, the ref yells "Gong Yi Tempai!"

    Xiaolin Showdown!
    Ash0011 vs. Emerald_Gen.3

    Team Ash

    Psyshock M
    @Justified
    HP= 100/100
    EP= 100/100
    *Entrainment*
    -Reversing Mirror-
    King Health: 50/50

    Team Emerald

    Psycho M
    @Trace
    HP= 100/100
    EP= 100/100
    -Silk Spitter-
    King Health: 50/50

    Post-Round Notes
    - Anyone else noticing that both these pokemon have VERY similar nicknames?
    - The main way to win is to destroy the opponent's king. Of course, fainting the opponent's pokemon is an auto-win.
    - You know what the definition for "Gambit" is?
    Gambit: An opening in chess in which a minor piece, or pieces, usually a pawn, is offered in exchange for a favorable position.
    Clever, huh?

    Oh, yeah, forgot to say who was to post next.

    Oh, well, it was gonna be emerald anyway, so oh well.

    There's not really that much of a damage cap on the king. However, it's made of a fairly hard material, so that shouldn't be much of an issue.
