Your Favourite Plotholes [Pokemon]

OK, since there are always those who said these topics were discussed like 20 years ago already, I'm making a general Pokemon Anime Plothole topic.

Here's a question that just hit me on Facebook. Who is Ash's father? I'm not saying it's Giovanni, but someone laid an argument that Giovanni is SILVER's Father, and therefore, cannot be Ash's. I have three claims against this:

1) Why can't Giovanni have two sons?
2) The poster of the argument said it was revealed 'offically' during a Celebi event, but I don't buy that because (s)he should have told more clearly, but apparently couldn't since Facebook is more for instant replies.
3) Anime plot can differ from the game plot!

Why doesn't Ash grow up? I recently looked into the manga plots and saw that Red/Blue are allowed to become young adults by later arcs in the story.

Also what level IS Pikachu exactly??

Perhaps Ash really has some sort of a syndrome taken into account what Iris always says about him!

I'm not up to par with the latest anime... I haven't watched it with any companions* beyond Misty, Brock, and Tracey. I looked up Iris and I'm glad they finally have a protagonist who is of color, hell yeah for diverse heroes. But still, what's up with that Pikachu? "Oh hell yeah, Pikachu just destroyed 8 gyms, took out Team Rocket, and plowed through most of the elite four BUT THAT LEVEL 2 PATRAT IS SO STRONG"

Wouldn't it make more sense to retire Ash and his Pikachu? The older fans would understand and most people age out of the Pokemon anime fandom because the anime itself doesn't mature with the audience, so younger generations of Pokemon fans come to the anime every year...

Oh! Mikael! I'm thinking about writing a fanfiction. =) Researching the genre a bit more now because I think I have a fun idea, something unique and it'll help me write about something that isn't my thesis LOL.

- Ash's dad but it's believed to be just some random trainer since in one pokemon reference Ash's mom met Ash's Dad then left Team Rocket.

Brock is a stereotype of funny Kansai region Japanese with darker skin color. Maybe.

Of all the main girls, Dawn was designed to look the most Japanese. Her straight hair and skirt represent Japanese schoolgirls, as we as her girly personality.

Misty and May always looked Americanized to me. Misty with orange hair, and May as a brunette with larger boobs.

Iris of course has darker skin.

My favorite plotholes:

1. Why has Ash never kept his promise to come back for Pidgeot? He clearly remembers he had caught it and mentioned it quite a few times since he left it. Ash even had an extended stay in Kanto but never even bothered to go back for it. I mean he went to Saffron City and Viridian City but not the forrest where his third Pokemon was left?

2. Why does Ash insist on using his Pokedex every time he sees a Pokemon including ones he's seen SEVERAL times? I mean he just used it a couple of weeks ago on a CHARMANDER at the Kanto Fair! He caught a CHARMANDER and raised it and yet he STILL needed the Dex to tell him that Charmander's tail is an indication of its life force?

3. Who is Viridian's new Gym Leader? Scott said that they weren't there yet and Agatha was just filling in.

4. What happened to Brock and Prof. Ivy?

5. What ever happened to Todd/Snap? He should have appeared at least ONE more time especially during the Hoenn/Kanto/Sinnoh Pokemon Contests as they would be ideal settings for great pics of Pokemon being flashy.

6. Why do Pokemon in the anime randomly use moves hat would be impossible for them to know? (e.g. Pikachu using Leer the one time)

7. Where did Hunter J come from originally? Is she from Sinnoh or somewhere else?
