Digimon sucks! It's just a Pokemon rip off with lousy characters with unimaginative designs and m=names. I mean people rip on the Vanillish family ALL THE TIME but names like Pegasusmon or even Hawkmon? You can already tell what THEY will look like even if you have NEVER seen them before! At least with Pokemon you SORT of can guess what they may LOOK like based on their names but not nearly as much. I mean if you heard the name Slowpoke, you'd probably think of a some really slow moving turtle instead of some odd sloth bear thingy. You can figure out it would be naturally slow but seeing it for the first time is not what you would have expected. With stupid ugly Digimon, you have idiotic stuff like Penguinmon and no one sees that poor excuse of a name and go, "Gee. I wonder what it looks like!"

Digimon is as good as Pokkemon in certain aspects. You just have to realize there's a reason for them both to be different.

First the copying thing. Copying is the way how art develops. Of course there are still innovative animes like Death Note but I see Pokemon, Digimon, Sailor Moon and Dragonball as classic avant-guards of modern anime. Look at Naruto. Others see it as an endless annoying emotional hell which never achieves the same universal ecstasy that its predecessor Dragonball spread, while others see Masashi Kishimoto as a worthy heir of popular anime who was inspired by Akira Toriyama's masterpiece with honor. Perhaps I'm exaggerating, but I was partly responsible of dissing Digimon as a cheap Pokemon-copy myself in the late 90s until I realized they are different in the good way.

CaptainJigglypuff, my friend, I suggest you to read my thread Pokemon and Digimon. It wasn't until 2006 I truly fell in love with Japanese Digimon music, although it had fascinated me before since it was the only part of the Finnish dub that wasn't dubbed. Now I enjoy singing Butter-Fly in karaoke OOOOONNN MMMMAAAI LLLLLUUUUUVVVVVVVVVVVV

I'd rather listen to Justin Bieber singing and I HATE Justin! I'm just saying. The one ugly Digimon is a complete rip off of Spearow. All they did was turned it pink and changed the eye.

I heard about this the other day. After all these years, I didn't think they would ever make a new show about the original cast. I for one can't wait to see it.

The only entire Digimon season I watched was Digimon Adventure 2. I only saw few eps of the first season, for the reason mentioned, I regarded Digimon as a cheap Pokemon-copy until 2004 or so. Should watch them all one day, but not literally, since there are so many episodes, including Savers, XCros Wars and others.
