Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire!

SO YEAH! Who got the game? Who's playing??

I got Alpha Sapphire and I'm loving it so far! I'm not sure yet if the Pokemon that you can sneak up on are meant to be stronger in some capacity, but I've been primarily raising those. Heck yeah for a Poochyena with Fire Fang. It's heck of a useful thing to have when starting with Mudkip, given the abundance of water-types I found already.

Also, the Lotad with Teeter Dance has been useful. I named him Discus Bongo. Haha.

As we speak, Wurmple is evolving. I can't remember which gender evolves into what. EVOLVE, MY PRETTY.

Have a Tailow and Whismur on hand, and the shiny Beldum, but I'm not sure if I want to train any of those.

Well, it seems like this is the first Pokemon game that I've planned on getting that I didn't get on day 1 since... well, the original Ruby. I'm going to be patient and wait until Christmas, because why buy a game yourself when you can mooch off of family members who you're getting gifts for anyway, plus I'm apparently notoriously hard to buy gifts for, so it's a plus for them. Luckily for me, that Beldum event will still be going.

I am currently playing the everloving tar out of alpha sapphire. In fact, I just beat norman.

This is really big for me, though, you know? because sapphire, ruby, and emerald were my first pokemon games. And to confirm, yes, I played ALL of them.

In pokemon emerald alone, I played through the game about 20 times as a kid, so as soon as I heard the newly remastered introduction music to Alpha Sapphire, I was hit with a tidal wave of nostalgia that gave me goosebumps.

And so far I am LOVING this game!

Omega Ruby get! Chose Mudkip this time instead of my main mon Treecko because I can just transfer a Torchic from X and I want easy trade access to the eventual Grass/Dragon. It's amazing how much you can cheese through the game considering you get the Exp. Share (Spoiler:) literally after the first fight with Team Magma/Aqua. Also, I like that it's truly not the same game from the originals, there are some slight differences here and there.

And yet at the same time it's such a faithful remake! It has so many differences, but not so much that it detracts too much from the original story. Anyone who has played Gen. 3 extensively will be able to breeze through the game easily, while at the same time the new elements keep those same people from getting bored.

I'm still in roughly the same place, but have defeated a bunch more trainers...

Discus Bongo the Wonder Lombre™ still only knows Absorb, Bubble, Teeter Dance, and Fake Out. GIMME SOME PROPER TMs DAMMIT (although Fake Out + Bubble/Absorb has been useful at slaying the Geodudes that Hikers are awfully fond of. Suck it, Sturdy!) I only bothered with this weird toad creature because in Lotad form, it looks ridiculous and comical in the 3-D graphics.

I'm surprised at how useful Dustox is with Venoshock. Carry on, you buggering moth. Carry on. It'll be replaced with a Pokemon that can learn Fly as soon as I find the HM.

It will be sad saying goodbye to the early-game usefulness of The Messiah, AKA Linoone, but alas, it is time for him to become an HM slave.

Having a blast so far. Anyone set up a sweet secret base yet? I've seen that you can share them without actually streetpassing!

I got myself a Water Pulse Spinda and didn't even know it since I had it in the Box because I wanted to beat the main game before doing some heavy training with my weaker Pokemon. I got to the kid who wanted to make a trade for your Spinda and when I saw it had Water Pulse, i pulled out. And this was the second or third Spinda I had run into.

I've got a secret base! It's in the tree, though, where you get Secret Power. I don't really want to teach that move to any of my Pokemon at the time, so the base is staying in the tree.

Discus Bongo the Wonder Lombre™ has learned Bubblebeam and is finally useful. Why I'm doubling up on Water-types, having started with Marshtomp, I'm not sure.

The Mightyena with Fire Fang is a good addition as well. I haven't run into any other Fire types besides Numel yet.

Just went into Fallarbor Town... nothing too terribly exciting there!

I was actually surprised and confused when I tried to return the Meteorite to Cosmos like you could do in the original games and nothing happened. I was like "Why didn't he take it?! I thought he wanted it back." But then I played the Delta Episode and it made so much sense. I have to admit that I didn't expect Cosmos not accepting the Meteorite.

NO. WHAT DID I JUST FINISH? WHAT WAS THAT? Delta Episode just RUINED the game. It was A HEAT SUIT... HOW IN THE EFF!! WHO NEEDS SEAT BELTS??! OMFG AND I CANT EVEN! THE FEELS!

These last 2 Generations made it super easy to beat the games super fast because of the level bump and the change to the EXP share.
