Just be careful with Trace. I've been playing a game where my main battler has it, and it's been interesting...it's an easy way to find out the Special Ability of wild pokémon, or a trainer's opener, but there are times when it can be trouble...like against Norman and his Slaking. That kinda sucked. You have to be careful going up against Kecleon, too...

Go with Ralts. Gardevoir rocks everyone's socks, though Trace is risky. I believe his other ability, Synchronize, might come in handy as well...opinion, really. I prefer Syn. *shrugs*

Get a Thick Fat Grumpig with Psychic, Calm Mind, Confuse Ray, Substitute @Leftovers. This guy lasts for a long, long time against most special attackers (Regice is toast against it), and Confuse Ray + Substitute are an excellent combination (Confuse Ray gives the Substitute an extra chance to survive due to the randomness factor, and Substitute prevents status conditions (which really mess him up) and makes sure that when Grumpig does get hit, only a certain amount of health is taken off). This gives him time to setup with Calm Mind and attack away.

I'm with DRWS, Gardevoir is OU, probably because it reminds ppl of 'zam, only w/ Will-o-wisp (if you bother breeding).
Grumpig can take a serious pounding, especailly with the suggested set, and after a few Calm Minds it can do some heavy damage too.
