Not bad, though Advance Wars and Final Fantasy Tactics are superior.
Apparently the Mario Kart bonus disk has special bonus items and whatnot on it. I'll have to check it out.
Hey, anyone playing Fire Emblem?
I know I am, I'm up to Mission 25 - The Pale Flower of Justice the one in the Snow and to be honest, I really loved this game up until we saw Eliwood's dad died... then it became really.. stretched out and rather repetitive.
But its also gotten quite a great deal harder.
My main quibble is that well unless a character is needed desperately for the storyline, they're ignored. And with all my characters, its unusual to see anyone apart from Lynn, Eliwood, Hector and those two blue haired brats.
So yeah.... with the help of Save States I have managed not to lose anyone, but Florina in the Intro chapters where I thought after they died, they came back next battle
That element of death really makes this game quite a lot more strategical.
I've also put a rating next to each person lol..

Also, does anyone else know how to trigger more in game conversations between characters to boost their support points?

Hector is A LOT better than you give credit for -- he's a cavalier killer, and he's better in melee than either Eliwood or Lyn, being able to take a lot of blows. He's a B at least.
Lucius is a guy, I believe, and yes, he is VERY powerful. Shamans make up most of the enemy spellcasters, and Lucius is a Shaman-Killer -- He takes maybe 3 damage from Flux, maximum (IF it hits), while he returns a 100% Double Lightning. Scary.

Hector is Ok, but in the early levels he was outclassed by Dorcas, and fell behind in growth, but with no real option to backtrack and level up, he's usually defending Merculius or whatever.
So no-one knows how to trigger more Assist or In Battle Convos between charactes? So far I've only been able to trigger one through pure luck between Eliwood and Hector.
Might just be the randomness of the level ups, but Hector has 13 Defense on my game (Level 8 or 9, I think, and +7 or so more than both my warriors). He CAN be promoted, by the way.
EDIT: Their stats (none have been promoted):
HECTOR, Level 8
HP: 26
Str: 12
Skill: 7
Spd: 8
Luck: 4
Def: 13
Res: 0
DORCAS, Level 9
HP: 35
Str: 11
Skill: 9
Spd: 7
Luck: 5
Def: 3
Res: 2
BARTRE, Level 7
HP: 34
Str: 11
Skill: 6
Spd: 6
Luck: 8
Def: 4
Res: 1
HP and Defense are basically the main differences between them. The Fighters beat Hector in HP, but Hector has a lot of Defense.

Heh. I've been playing the Practice Link Battle Mode, and it is kind of interesting. While it's not a map battle as it should have been, the team battle is a bit of fun. You make teams of five characters using your save data, and you can select up to four teams to battle at a time (the AI will control the other teams). When selecting your team, you can select their equipment (of course), and you can even use Stat Up and Promotion items if you have them without using them up in your saved game. However, when fighting, you can only use attacking abilities (no healing items or staves), but you can use weapons/spells an unlimited amount of times.
Each turn, you select ONE character to attack an opponent -- they deal out their damage and the teams receive points based on how much experience those characters would have received in the real game (i.e. an attack normally nets you 9 or 10 points). Play continues until one team is left standing. The team with the most points wins (so for the most part, it's who gets the most kills). Since it is based on points, having a promoting team fighting against a non-promoted team isn't always an advantage, since they get reduced experience (and non-promoted units get more for attacking and killing promoted units). Heck, the only time where promoted units have a noticable advantage is with Survival rules (where the winning team gets +30 points for each unit he has remaining).
Playing through the game a bit more, I've found out some more about the characters
Raven is a beast, plain and simple. The best Swords user in the game (at least so far). He doesn't have high strength (it's average), but he has high skill and very high speed -- he gets two attacks 90% of the time even with a Steel Sword equipped. Give him the Killing Edge in Link Battle, and he becomes VERY scary. Worthy of an "A" rating.
Canas is also powerful. In Link Battle, he's just overpowered with Nosferatu, which steals HP (it's the ONLY way to heal in Link Mode).
Hector and Oswin are powerful tanks. Both get the A ranking in my opinion.
As for Sain, Kent, and Lowan, it seems that Sain has the highest strength, Kent has the highest skill and speed, and Lowan has the best defense and resistance. All three of them are good (and Marcus, of course) -- Cavalier is an excellent class, with excellent movement, superior rescue ability (this is a VERY good ability), and once promoted, they can use the entire Weapon Triangle.
