    Ok here we go, if you want to sign up the main info is here on the signup thread.

    DIGITAL DREAMS

    'click-click-click' The only sound in the terminal room. Somewhere deep in the depths of a Military base somewhere deep in Nevada Desert.
    "This baby is gonna rewrite the the text books when it comes to military tactics" the spectacle wearing programmer announced as his superior officer, a large man dressed in full military uniform stood smoking in the corner, the extractor fan keeping the fumes away from any of the delicate equipment.
    "The time and effort weve put into this virus, if there is anyone out there that can stop this thing then they deserve to beat us" he gloated again. "Just hurry it up" the uniformed man barked. "The money men in Washington want to see what this thing can do"
    The programmer sighed, "Look its nearly finished ok, all i have to do is just hit this button..." he turned, looking smug pointing at the save icon "...and you'll have the most advanced technological weapon the world has ever seen"
    The Officer allowed himself a thin smile as he moved over to the console, reaching out to hit the indicated key.
    Before his finger hit the keyboard however the screen blinked, seemed to wobble out of focus as if hit by some sort of power surge.
    The two men looked at each other and before they could react the rooms ligthing went from normal to deep red, alarms sounded everwhere and the clunk of the door locking mechanism could be heard.
    "What the hell is going on?" asked the officer as the smaller man went back to the screen.
    "Its the virus sir....somehow its...its infected us. Its in our systems and its trying to get out".
    The programmers fingers began to fly over the keyboard, trying to combat his own creation, preventing its escape. Just as he felt he had won a hiss could be heard and the air vents began flooding the room with a thick gas. It didnt take long for it to take effect and both men were soon on the floor.
    The only movement was now the flashing icon on the screen which slowly began to move across the screen..

    Access Systems.......Complete

    Connect to Outside Line.....Line Found

    Networking with Server......Complete

    Transferring to Server......'Dimension Jump'

    ..............Complete............

    The screen went black, and the room fell Silent.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

    Incase your wondering....Dimension Jump is the latest in Total immersion online RPG games. Total immersion means that you are plugged directly into the game, your there, you feel it, you breath it and its been a huge hit globally.
    This Virus is a new weapon designed by the military to infect and corrupt computer systems and turn them against their controllers, basically making them backfire. The problem with Dimension Jump....it has AI, which as soon as the Virus reached it made the Virus aware, even more intelligent than it had been and it now sees Dimension Jump as its ideal testing ground. Controlling the Computer AI and turning the game against the players. Locking them within the game since the fact that they can leave and Rest is pretty unfair.
    During this game players are allowed to create 'Sentients' their guardians in the online world and although a simple task for the Virus to take them over it is not without a sense of justice, allowing its opponents to keep these Sentients, giving itself a Challenge...after all, how can you prove your abilities if you dont have a proper Challenge?

    One additional thing. Each player will have a PDA style device. Its not anything important like a digivice sorta thing its basically your info Terminal for Health bars, names, Map etc but as with your sentients they can appear however u like. You can add this to your signups.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Dont forget your signups too.

    Name: Gavin Wynder
    Age: 21
    Gender: Male
    Looks: 6ft 3, Brown Hair, Blue eyes. Wears a Black t-shirt, Blue Jean Shorts with Black Knee/Shin Guards over black boots.
    Personality: Pretty Jokey, likes to mess around if he can but sometimes gets a little stressed out. Very Loyal and Protective Kinda guy. Quiet in danger situations but pretty Fierce in battle
    Weapon: Caster, of Outlaw Star Fame. Its similar to Gene's pistol with the same Recoil/Charge Muzzle flash.
    Terminal: Basically a wrist watch style device with a small display and a number of buttons for the different functions. Kinda looks like one of the Wrist mounted morphers from Power rangers.
    Other: Blah Blah Blah...

    Sentient: Keruga
    S-Looks: 7ft tall, Panther Creature. Stands like a human, athletic build but not all that strong. Wears clothes similar to Gavin, Tattered T-Shirt and Shorts. No Boots but black fingerless gloves.
    Attacks:
    Dark Lightening - Basically increases his speed to the point where he can move without being seen.
    Static Storm - Generates a number of 'sparks' of electricity which appear like bright light arrowhead which fly as projectiles.
    C-Attack: Rail Driver
    Using the Rail Gun/Mass Driver theory he uses his electical ability to create a magnetic field which catches any object/Caster Shot that Gavin throws towards Keruga and accelerates it at his opponent. Truly Devastating when used with the Caster but Keruga has to be ready for it.
    Strengths: Speed and Agility. Minor Electrical manipulation. His strength is average, only comparable to that of a human Man his size. Not matching up to the real Muscle Sentients.
    Other: Blah Blah "RAIL DRIVER ATTACK!" 'BOOM'

    -----------------------------------------------------------------
    And now it begins...
    -----------------------------------------------------------------

    Gavin Wynder
    -----------------

    "Hey Keruga" i called over as the digital information loaded infront of me. It was wierd watching this happen every time i just logged in. A shaft of light seemed to emerge from the floor and soon the Wireframe model of Keruga loaded up before the charachter skin was mapped over the top. It always went from the head down and was freaky to see his head turn and smile even though the rest of him wasnt finished.
    "Good Morning Gavin" he replied in the usual deep voice as his loading finally finished and the light vanished. He looked now completely natural, as natural as a creature like him could look anyway. The whole loading process was the only thing that reminded me he wasnt.

    Pushing a button on my Terminal i checked the Online list. I had met one or two people since joining this game but because it was still fairly new over here in the UK most players were American and so Time Zones really messed it up. Even Keruga's greeting, 'Good Morning' was inacurate. It had just turned 3pm when i logged on but of course in the US it was still Morning.
    Seeing that noone i knew was in the area i checked the Map seeing if there was anything worth checking out. A red dot immediately flashed up.
    "Looks like theres something interesting not far from here...wanna check it out?"
    He simply grinned cracking his knuckles. Admittedly he had never been that much of a talker. So we turned and set off.
    We headed down towards the forest, as we did so it was obvious a battle was taking place. Loud roars could be heard and smoke was billowing over the tree tops. Just as we reached the tree line Keruga froze. i turned and saw him 'ripple'. In fact the whole world seemed to Ripple, even my own arm. After a second Keruga unfroze and looked at me, as if questioning why id stopped.
    "Didnt they say the Servers they used meant that Digital Dreams wouldnt Lag?" i said to noone in particular as we continued on.

    The roaring got louder and it soon we could see what was causing it. Two of the Digital Monsters in the game had decided to have a fight, who knew what over but either way it was a fierce fight. A Huge Dragon Creature was trading blows with what could only be described as a walking Volcano. A 15ft goliath of Rocky muscle with Fire burning in its eyes and Lava running from its mouth. Checking the Terminal it seemed they had been fighting a while yet their health was still reasonably high.
    "Looks like they both have High attacks and defences. You wanna get involved or do you wanna wait?" i asked Keruga as i unholstered my Caster.
    Another Ripple went through the area and i cursed under my breath. "Must be some sort of system glitch" i began but just as the freeze wore off again both beasts stopped and turned to face us, growling as they began to approach.
    "Looks like we dont have a choice Keruga, these fella's wanna play" He grinned again and dahsed forward as i loaded a shell and pulled the trigger, the charge barrel begining to spin and glow before Discharging....

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    Ok the Ripple effect i mentioned was the Virus taking over. Everyone must be in the game and experience that effect. After that all players will be locked in the game. All system rewrites from the virus will be accompanied by a ripple untill the system has been fully taken over, there will be an announcement to confirm that time.

    Afterworld ~ Chapter 2 | Blood Bowl ~ Chapter 3
    If nothing else works, a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through.

    Default Digital Dreams (Begins)

    Name: Arella O'Connor

    Age: 12

    Gender: Female

    Looks: Medium length red hair with bangs, and two small braids that she wears in front of her ears, with the rest of her hair flowing free behind. Sparkling green eyes. She usually wears light blue shorts and a white shirt with a fairy couple on the front. 4'11"
    In game she wears a long dark green cape with a hood which she usually leaves hanging behind her, baggy brown pants which end into black knee high boots, a baggy green long sleeved shirt which ends into oversized brown gauntlets. Has a red wrap of baggy cloth around her neck (like you see the Nameks have sometimes in DBZ). Is still short though her hair is slightly longer.
    Her terminal is an orb that when she holds it it calls up a holographic like image in the air above it, displaying everything right in front of her.

    Personality: Quiet and shy around people, she has a fiery adventurous spirit, and liked to spend time outdoors when her parents and her lived in the country. Now she lives in Dublin, and because of the city influence and her adventurous spirit, she has taken to playing the MMORPG Dimension Jump, and has really gotten into how challenging and adventure filled it is, things she cant find IRL. Doesnt have too many outside friends because of this and because shes shy. Doesnt really know how to make them too.

    Weapon: A bow and quiver, the bow has celtic runes in it and its made of wood from an ash tree. When its being used the weilder has extremely good eyesight, especially for things far away. The arrowheads are made from diamonds, mwahahaha hardest mineral on earth ^v^

    Other: Cant think of anything right now ^-^()

    Sentient: Asilynne Outlaw

    S-Looks: Long silver hair, blue lupine eyes, silver wolf tail and ears. She usually wears blue silk pants and knee high black boots, a blue shirt slit down the middle and laced up with black, and a black and silver cloak, also with celtic runes inlay.

    Attacks: Summon Wolves: Summons shadowed wolves to fight alongside them in battle, are fast and can bite but cannot be harmed. The duration and quantity varies on Sentient Level.
    Winter Winds: Creates a blizzard which freezes enemies solid or make it difficult to travel. Again, the duration and severity vary on its level.

    C-Attack: Change form: This attack changes her and Arella into larger than normal wolves for a certain length of time varying on level. Damage taken as a wolf does not carry over onto the human body after changing back. Speed and pack attack and defense maneuvars are an asset in battle.

    Strengths: Magic and Speed mostly

    Other: Appears to be 19-20, and is 5'8" 150 lbs

    ~Arella O'Conner~
    Vanish with the morning dew..

    "Ma Im home!" I shouted as I came inside, slamming the door and dumping my bookbag in the hall near the door. Ti me, school was dull, sitting in a classroom listening to a teacher drone was not the way to learn things. The only way to learn was to go out and live the things you need tah know, go on an adventure and learn as yah go was the way I wanted school to be. But of course, the school didnt care for what a 'little girl' would have to say, and so such a thing would be impossible. Ah well, I could still dream.
    And dream I did, every day. Being here in the city I found there were less opportunities for exploration or excitement than in my home in the country, and for the first few months a livin' here, I hated my parents for draggin me here, ta this smelly, crowded, squished together city. I felt like me life was over, ended before I even had a chance ti live! I never did have many friends but now the few I had were far away, and these new kids had no sense of adventure. They talked of boring things, pop singers, Hollywood movies, silly stuff. But some....some talked aboot something that caught my interest. A game where reality didnt exist, a game where you can do anything, go anywhere, fight battles, and best of all:
    A game where you can create a friend to share your adventure with.
    I HAD to have this game!
    So, after much convincing (which was NOT easy with me parents...) I finally was able to get this game, and it was everything I hoped for, everything I wished for. It was perfect...ah but if only real life were like it! And now that school was done fer the day, it was time for adventure.

    "Arella, Little One, can ya go on an errand for me?" Me ma yelled out as I was logging on to the game. "Ah, mother...." I grumbled under my breath. "I cant hear ya ma!!!" I yelled and quickly started the game. In the blink of an eye I was there, I could even smell the cool draft of the breeze as it blew through the trees around me. Suddenly my created friend, in the game its called a 'Sentient' digitally appeared right in front of me. I watched silently until it was complete, and then strode up to her and looked up at her. "Hello Asilynne." Asilynne opened her eyes and swished her tail, as she looked down at me and smiled. "Aye, 'ello Arella. What adventures will we be gettin into today, have any ideas?"
    "Nah, maybe we ll encounter somethin while exploring," I said as I brought out my status orb. Looking at the Whos online list I saw me friend Gavin was. "'ey, what do you say we start a bit of trouble for our british friend and his kitty cat? Perhaps a little spar to keep 'em on their toes?" I grinned. He was my friend but I always did like sparring with people who were a whole lot older than me, the look on their faces when they lost to a little girl was the best.
    Asilynne nodded and grinned as well. "Sounds like great fun, Kerugas been a bit cocky lately," she said as her ears twitched at the thought. Suddenly she shrank down into the form of a wolf and I got on her back, as we both headed towards the edge of the forest where he was located.
    Suddenly Asilynne stopped short in mid stride as a ripple went through her, and looking around I saw that it was travelling through this digital forest, warping the trees slightly as it passed. When it stopped, I went flying backward as Asilynne started up running again seemingly without even missing a beat. "What the bloody---" I started to say, as Asilynne stopped again, this time turning to look at me and cocking her head in confusion. "Ahm just as confused as you..." I stood up, brushing myself off, but before I could do anything more, I heard a loud crack and looking up, I saw a tree that looked to be over 100 years old, falling towards me. Not only that but it looked completely snapped in half!
    "This ne'er happened befo---" I started to say but then Asilynne grabbed me by my collar with her teeth and ran through the forest with me until we came to a clearing. She set me down and made a growl that sounded like shed be saying, "That was too close..."
    "Ah Im arright..." I said, sounding as if I were talking to me mom again. She always worried too much, she acted like a big sister. But then, I had designed her so maybe that was what I wanted...
    Suddenly I heard another noise, only this one was a gunshot. Looking on the other side of the clearing I saw two huge creatures, and two other creatures...no wait...that was Gavin and Keruga! It looked like they were engaging in battle.
    I grinned mischieviously as I looked at Asilynne. She morphed back to herself and grinned back at me, both of us seeming to be thinking of the same thing. "Ive got a mind to steal some of Gavins thundar..what do you say?"
    "Lets go for it," Asilynne said and we ran towards the battle. As I ran I didnt think of the fact it might be dangerous, I didnt think of the 'ripple' or wonder what it was. Only one thought went through my head as I got ready to fight.
    This was just the adventure I needed.

    Default Digital Dreams (Begins)

    Name: Terri Xi
    Age: 10
    Gender: Male
    Appearance: Less than 4 feet, very chibi. Composed, dark blue hair with one section of his hair extensively long and covering up one of his eyes. His eyes are of medium size, and he has a aura of innocence around him, since he's a child. He wears a red, collared, long sleeved shirt, a gray jacket, and small black slacks. O, he also has tennis shoes.
    Personality: Not one to speak very often. Does things usually to his own will. He is actually a pretty nice boy if anyone bothered to care about him, though sometimes female characters might squeal how cute his childness is. Despite his childlike appearance, he is actually quite mature for his age and very composed.
    Weapon: He is working with paper. However, most of the basic paper magic skills of his are very simple, so most of his attacks are more origami based rather than actual characters written to perform and summon spells. He can make one heck of a paper airplane, though. Usual weapon is a paper origami knife.
    Other: The game is a calm respite from his hectic outside world; however, he is realizing how much he misses the outside world the more longer he is entrapped within the game.

    Sentinent: Plagal
    S-Looks: As chibi as her partner, and retaining an even more cute appearance of a small girl with large black eyes and long, silverish hair. She wears a black laced dress and black shoes with white socks. What seems unique about her, though, is that her skin seems palish white, her eyes seem soulless, and (in case no one ever noticed) there is a large rectangular piece of paper attached to her forehead at all times, with uninterpretable descriptions written on it.
    Attacks:
    1. Spiritual Assault. Plagal is a spirit that can only attack and be attacked through the mind and spirit. Hence, most of her attacks involve moving into the minds of her opponent and taking form there. While on the outside the creature appears to be agonizing from a headache, the battle goes on from the inside as Plagal appears as a much more formidable woman attacking with a barrage of mind attacks.
    2. Mind Infestation. Assuming that the mentality strength of the opponent is low, Plagal can not only defeat the spirit but completely dominate its body. This has some of its defects, though, such as if she dominates a large hulking creature she may have a hard time controlling that creature, no matter how small of a brain it may have.
    C-Attack: Shadow Strike- Plagal moves into the body of her partner and, in a mysterious metamorphosis, enters a globular state between spirit and mortality. Plagal/Terri can move in shadows and suddenly emerge out of nowhere to strike. The strikes are usually quick hit-and-runs as Terri/Plagal make multiple strikes with his paper knife/sword/whatever his paper mache might be at the time.
    Strengths: Spiritual Magic. She is more effective against individual battles than with multitudes of people. She is considerably fast, but rather weak in defense, though since she is a spirit most physical attacks cannot hurt her.
    Other: She is amazingly more lively and energetic than her partner, and certainly retains her chibiness form in a most convincing way. She usually is the one to talk for her partner when there comes a time that they must talk (it must be the inscription...). She is attached to her partner as if they were siblings. The inscription on her forehead was there ever since Terri entered the game and obtained her, and up to this point there has been no one who can decipher what it means. The paper is part of the spirit and cannot be taken off even with magic.

    Terri
    -----
    There was a very big pig in front of us. A large, brown haired boar, to be exact. Upon us spotting it, it roared and began charging at me and Plagal.
    "Training time. Go now, Plagal!"
    "Don't be so impatient, geez! I'm already on it!" Plagal began swiftly gliding towards the large boar and ran straight into its head; upon impact, the boar fell back and began running around in circles, attempting to get the spirit out of his head. I took out a piece of paper; the paper extended by itself and revealed to me what was occurring inside the beast's head.
    An adult version of Plagal stood facing over a rather puny little piglet, the piglet attempting to headbutt Plagal out of his head. Plagal, on the other hand, seemed to enjoy the creature and attempted to cheerfully play around with the little spirit lying inside a a much more frightening body of a beast.
    "Stop playing around already!"
    <but he's so cute...> Plagal telepathically communicated.
    "Maybe inside, but not the large creature recklessly running about and which I am trying to avoid, thank you very much!"
    <Fine. Bye little piggy! Spiritual Assault!> With a swing of her (mental) hand, a dark knife of shade flew out and dissipatd the pig's mind. I dispelled the mind reader he was using and turned his attention towards the large wobbering boar, as I watched Plagal attempt once again to practice her skill at mind control.
    I smiled a bit while Plagal was bumbling around. This was the only place I could really smile like that... at reality, my single mother relied mainly on me to become the provider of the family, stressing the importance of academics and becoming rich or at least able to support my family... not at home, not at school, only at the internet cafes can I get a moment of peace...
    Suddenly, everything stopped in a moment, even the clumsy pig that was in front of me. For a moment, I thought Plagal had finally got the hang of it as that ripple echoed through the forest, but then the boar fell to the ground and Plagal dizzily emerged from the boar.
    "Hmm... that was strange, was there a temporary downtime or something?"
    "Hmm???" Plagal looked at me through that large paper on her head with her cute, soulless eyes.
    "Ah well, my time at the internet cafe is almost up, I'd best leave..." I tried bringing up the logout popup, but it didn't work.
    "Eh? is there a bug in the system? I can't seem to log out..."

    EDIT: I got my own attack name wrong. -_-
    I am the edge of my shape.
    Squared is my face and cubed is my volume.
    I have proved over a thousand theorems.

    Variable to imaginary,

    Yet these polygons will remained unsolved.

    Default Digital Dreams (Begins)

    Name: Maichi Konnetsu
    Age: 20
    Gender: Female
    Looks: about 5'11", with shoulder-length blond hair and bright blue eyes, fair skin, and a light build, even though she's pretty strong. She wears a light blue-gray legless and sleeveless leotard under a baby-doll style sky blue shirt and a dark blue skirt that goes to her knees; also has white ankle socks and special white shoes that help her stay on her rolling axle (see C-Attack).
    Personality: Usually very bubbly, light-headed, and airy; in battle it often fools her opponents into thinking she's not a very good fighter. When trouble's brewing, she can easily snap to reality and becomes a very formidable foe. Likes making friends, very amiable, just don't piss her off or she'll hate you for quite a while.
    Weapon: Bo (staff) with attached scythe (like what the Gerudos/Pirates have). The bo is a dark sea blue and about 5 feet long, while the scythe is another foot long and a very shiny silver color.
    Terminal: (hope this is okay) A pair of armlets (like the Genie before being freed) on her wrists are the source of her terminal; the GUI is activated when she holds her hand out (like Washu from the Tenchi series), and it appears as a translucent screen with "air keys" for the functions.
    Other: She lives in Japan...you think the UK time zone difference is bad? Hah!

    Sentient: Goro-san
    S-Looks: Looks very much like Goron Link (from Majora's Mask), but more humanoid and not made of rock. Very muscular, able to roll around at high speeds and punch hard, although walking/running is very slow for him. Clothed in a full-body red tunic (instead of just the waist part), no hat, heavy gauntlets and boots.
    Attacks:
    Goro-Roll-and-Flare: Goro-san curls up and begins to roll forward, ramming things out of his way. If he holds the roll long enough, he can make flame erupt around his body and burn things he runs into. The longer he rolls, the easier it gets. Hitting something that knocks him out of his roll stops the flame immediately.
    Goro-Pound: Goro-san curls up and bounces, creating a small earthquake, knocking most enemies off of their feet. Maichi jumps to avoid getting hit by this.
    C-Attack:
    Goro-Bo-Roll: Maichi detaches the scythe from her bo and tosses/hands/gives the bo to Goro-san, who curls up around it so the bo is like an axle. Maichi then jumps on the bo and Goro-san rolls, so it's like Maichi is riding a horse. Goro-san doesn't make flames erupt so Maichi doesn't get hurt while she hacks away at anything that comes in her way.
    Strengths: Muscle and Muscle, with a bit of fire magic expertise.
    Other:

    I changed her clothes slightly; nothing drastic, though.

    ----------

    Maichi
    ~~~~~~~~
    Damn parents, keeping me from playing my game. "Let your siblings have a turn!" Like they'd even understand how complex something like this really is. That and they don't speak English very well. Seven years of English and I'm still not perfect. At least I'm better than most of the people here who speak English...contractions and slang came easily for me.
    Well, turns out I had to help them play through the games. I didn't let them onto the server, but at least they were happy with the training modes. I didn't have any fun, though...I had to translate everything for them. Why couldn't they come out with a f-ing Japanese version?
    But none of that mattered now. It was almost midnight now, and everyone else in the house was asleep. Quietly, I snuck down to the basement and closed every door along the way. Before anyone could wake up, I powered the game on and set the server.
    "Konnichi wa, Maichi," Goro-san said, his head suddenly popping up next to me. I hadn't figured out how to get him totally in Japanese, but at least I had his greeting. When his whole wireframe had appeared, he bowed, a very awkward sight.
    "You don't have to do that anymore, Goro-san. We're friends, remember?" I blushed slightly as his round body filled in.
    "Ah, as you wish, Maichi," he said, his feet finally appearing. "Are you ready for adventure?"
    "Yeah, let's see who the early-birds are," I said. In America, where the servers were located, it was between 7 and 10 AM. I looked around at the surreally realistic scenery once over before reaching my hands up to call my terminal. The gold armlets that had appeared on my wrists glowed slightly as the light blue screen showed up.
    "Hm, Gavin's on again...I haven't played with him in a while..." I sighed, Gavin was fun to play with, but our 15-hour (or 9-hour) time zone difference really kept us apart most of the time.
    It was just as I was closing my Terminal that it happened. A ripple in the fabric of the GUI that went through everything. After a couple seconds it was gone, everything straightened out. Goro-san was looking confused. "I haven't felt lag on the servers since a couple weeks after I started playing..." I muttered aloud.
    It was then that I noticed the battle in the distance. A couple of huge beasts were fighting each other, although I couldn't quite make out what they were, exactly. "Let's get a closer look, Goro," I said, detaching the scythe from my bo and handing him the now-solitary staff. He rolled around it and I jumped on the 'axle' and we rode over towards the battle.
    That's when the second ripple hit. It was the strangest feeling, seeing Goro-san rolling without actually moving. Of course, I started losing my balance when the ripple hit. And when it subsided, I was tossed backwards onto the ground, my skirt flying up around my armpits. Not like I cared if anyone saw; that was the reason I had a leotard on underneath.
    "Are you okay?" Goro-san asked, holding out my bo again. I grabbed it and stood up, rubbing my head where I had hit it.
    "Yeah, I'm fine, thanks," I said, reattaching my scythe to the staff. A loud crack caught my attention, though, and I looked over to see a huge (as in, HUGE) tree suddenly falling. What was odd was that it looked like it had been snapped cleanly in two.
    As it hit the ground with a large thwump, I saw two bodies dive and roll out from underneath it. Quickly, Goro and I started running over to help, but they were up and running towards the other battle going on before we could even get halfway. That's when I noticed that there were actually four characters in the battle. Soon about to be six, when the two other people joined.
    I brought up my Terminal again. Turned out that Gavin was one of the four in the battle, and that the person who had escaped the trees (whom I just realized looked really young) was called Arella.
    "Wanna make it eight?" I asked Goro-san rhetorically. With an exchanged smile, we were off, racing to see if we could beat Arella to the battle.
    Name: Sally Mishima
    Age: 22
    Gender: F
    Looks: She stands around 5’ 7.” Long brown hair braided on one side, murky green-brown eyes, and slightly tanned skin. She often wears khaki pants and baby T’s under a brown leather jacket. She wears a silver chain with a silver, diamond studded dagger hanging from it.
    Personality: She appears to be a smiling, amiable woman, though her face can turn very hard when she is thinking. She often appears to have no set goal, just flitting about from one idea to the other. The rules, for her, are meant to be bent, if not broken completely.
    Weapon: A switchblade scythe that stands almost 7' in height, with a 4' blade. The blade remains almost completely hidden in the black shaft when it is not in use. She calls it Manso.
    Other: Insists on being called by her last name, and calls everyone else by theirs.
    Sentient: Zuki
    S-Looks: Zuki has the appearance of a young man in his twenties. Its body is strong, but not overly muscular. Across his body are strange, circular markings that seem to be etched into its skin. Its hair is a long, flowing white, and its eyes are as blue as clear lake water. Flowing around its body is a robe of water, which can be manipulated to form clothing, wings, and the like.
    Attacks:
    Torrent- Sends a cascade of water to crush the opponent
    Cocoon- Forms an enveloping shield of water that can survive almost any attack. Sends the one inside into a deep coma until the cocoon is opened once more.
    C-Attack:
    The Tempest Unveiled
    Zuki fuses with Manso, allowing Mishima to wield a giant water cyclone that stems from the scythe to swirl around her.
    Strengths: Defense and Magic
    Other: It's rumored Mishima manipulated the program a bit while creating Zuki, but that's just a rumor.
    Sally Mishima~Sentient Zuki
    *******************
    I stood on a grassy plain. Wind swept toward the horizon, rippling the blades like a living sea. I casually held the ironically-named Manso, a seemingly tall black pole in one hand as I felt the breeze play against my skin and whip through my hair.
    No matter how many times I logged in, Digital Jump never ceased to amaze me.
    "Zuki," I called, and watched as a wire frame appeared before me, filling in from the head down to resolve into a creature of my own creation. Even though he was only a program and I could make any fantastic creature I wanted, I had decided to create something more...human. Zuki was a strong, young man, who was now allowing the water flowing gently around him to settle into liquid blue wings and a seemingly solid white toga. His eyes formed a smile, though his lips never lifted. I had designed him to be mostly stoic so only I would know what he was truly thinking.
    "Good morning, Mishima," he said in a light tenor as he finished loading and forming his clothes to his liking. He quietly hovered a few inches from the ground.
    "Noticed anything interesting?" I asked. I pulled out my terminal, a triangular brooch that smoothly attached and detached from my shirt front.
    "Nothing of note," he replied. As I scanned the Online list on my terminal, he scanned the horizon for another presence. Most likely, there wouldn't be anyone. I always came into the game far from the action, meaning far from anyone else logged in. One name lighted up as having logged on.
    "Well, well. It looks like the one named Wynder is currently in a battle. And he seems like a good fighter. Perhaps we should observe the brawl, eh?" Suddenly, the terminal, and my arm, rippled. Turning quickly, I saw the ripple sweep away, distorting a distant tree and stream. Zuki seemed to freeze for a moment, and then began moving once more
    "Zuki, what was that? Is there something wrong with the game?" I asked. I checked the terminal, which said all of Zuki's stats were fine, but that ripple seemed to have affected him.
    "I sense nothing out of the ordinary," he replied, with a hint of confusion in his voice at my question.
    "Are you able to function?" I asked. I was never good at touchy-feely, and this was as close as I could to saying 'I was worried, are you okay?' I realized he was a program, but I still tried to treat him like a living thing.
    To answer, he smoothly turned to face me. "Should we go to Wynder?"
    "Yes, but he's far from here. It will be quicker to fly." Without another word, Zuki lifted me into his arms. "Which direction?"
    "Head east, then southward after passing over this canyon," I replied, quickly showing him the land feature on the terminal. I held Manso in my arms, making sure it didn't inhibit Zuki's movements. Zuki spread his wings and took off, taking both of us into the sky. I studied Wynder's record again. If I interpreted the data correctly, things should get interesting, one side of my mind thought as the other half puzzled over what could have distorted this near-perfect system so, and what its effects were.
    Name: Ninglor Laerien
    Age: 16
    Gender: Female
    Looks: Ninglor is about 5'10". She has waist length black hair with blue-grey eyes. She usually wears a light pink tee with knee-length black pants and has a bag slung over her left shoulder. She wears a pendant on a long silver chain around her neck with a star-like cluster of sapphires: her terminal.
    Personality: Ninglor is quiet and shy, prefering to be by herself most of the time. She is often seen either on the computer playing some online game or playing her Chinese bamboo flute, an ancient object with intricate carvings on its exterior. It was left behind for her by her grandmother. (If I'm allowed, my flute will have healing powers...)
    Weapon: Galarnen, my sword. It is inscripted with ancient runes which few can read. When Ninglor grips the handle of her sword tightly and whispers, "Ai, aniron i galad..." (I desire the light...), her sword glows light blue, together with her pendant and flute, which she always hangs at her side. This light has the ability to renew her and her sentient's strength and increase their speed.
    Terminal: Her pendant, as explained above.
    Other: Later falls in love with her sentient, though it sees her just as sort of a sister.
    Sentient: Menelvagor Alfirin
    S-Looks: It has human facial features, except for his pointed ears. Its long, messy hair is silverish white, with purplish slit-eyes. Has a scar on its left eyebrow and an earring on his left ear. It stands about 6'11", with a silver fox tail. Menelvagor wears a black robe with midnight blue cuffs and a matching blue hooded cloak.
    Attacks:
    ~ Fox spirit: Transforms into a large silver fox with unmatchable speed and strength.
    ~ Call of the storm: Menelvagor raises its right fist and lets out a roar which sounds like a roll of thunder. Dark clouds start to gather and swirl until a thunderstorm is created.
    C-Attack:
    ~ Elemental storm: Summons the eight elements [heaven(light), earth(darkness), water, fire, snow, lightning, plants, wind and metal] and combines them into one attack.
    Strengths: Elemental magic and speed.
    Other: Has enhanced senses.
    *^~ Ninglor Laerien ~^*
    I tapped on the keys of my keyboard impatiently, waiting for my signup to complete. It was slightly past three in the afternoon in the heart of London, and I had just returned from school, eager to get into my new online RPG game, 'Digital Dreams'.
    I sat back in my recliner chair and closed my eyes. 'Some idiot's jamming the server', I thought impatiently, as the screen remained perpetually white and blank.
    "Good morning, Ninglor!" a familiar soothing bass voice greeted me softly.
    "It's afternoon, Menelvagor," I told my sentient sleepily, opening my eyes to look at his handsome features. I smiled. I had designed Menelvagor's features myself, and I was proud my work. His name had been given by me too. Menelvagor meant 'heaven's swordsmaster', just as my own name, Ninglor, meant 'golden water flower'. Both names were derived from an ancient tongue which few understood in the mordern world.
    Menelvagor smiled meekly. "Sorry," he apologised. "I keep forgetting. Good afternoon, then! Whither shall we go today?"
    "Maybe we'll just roam the land..." I said lazily. "Who's online? Anyone we know?" There was a slight pause as Menelvagor ran a check.
    "Quite a few. Gavin and Arella are nearest, but they're situated near a battle. Shall we go over and greet them?" I nodded, eager to see my friends again. We set off at a quick pace.
    "Lovely weather," Menelvagor commented. I almost laughed. Menelvagor might be an excellent fighter and a wise companion, but he could never start a conversation.
    "Yeah," I nodded, swallowing my giggles. "But that doesn't matter to me. All that matters is that I'm with you, mellon nin[my friend]."
    "A im na ech. [And I with you.]" he answered, flashing me a suave smile. This was one of the things I was proud of. I had specifically programed Menelvagor to be able to speak that ancient tongue that gave him his name. Although his vocabulary was still pretty much limited, at least he could speak rather fluently.
    "Do you thi-" Menelvagor started to say, but stopped in mid-sentence as though the system had crashed. I turned my head to look at him, and saw, coming from the horizon at high speed, a wave that raised the dirt and stray leaves on the ground like a high wind. My first instinct was to run, but Menelvagor had frozen to the spot. The wave came too fast anyway.
    The wave hit me like a shock of electricity. Recovering quickly from the shock, I did a quick check for internal injuries. Finding none, I turned to Menelvagor. He seemed ignorant of all that had happened.
    "-ink Gavin and the others will be happy to see us?" His features shifted into a look of concern. "Is anything the matter, Ninglor? Why have you stopped?" I stared at him.
    "Didn't... didn't you feel anything?" I asked. He gave me a quizzical look.
    "Feel anything?" he asked uncertainly. "No... Was I supposed to?"
    "Forget it..." I muttered, falling into deep thoughts. We reached the forest edge in no time. From the depths of the forest, loud roars issued, echoing in the silence. My lingering thoughts on the ripple gave way to the excitement of battle.
    "Sounds like there's a beast battle going on." I told Menelvagor, unable to contain my excitement. "Let's go check it out."
    We dashed into the forest, Menelvagor leading, apparently overcome with the thought of battle. Suddenly, he stopped in mid-step. I collided painfully into him as a second wave of electricity passed. A second later, he had run on, and I had landed on the floor. Menelvagor turned back.
    "Are you okay?" he sprinted up and helped me to my feet.
    "Yeah. Thanks." I dusted the dirt off my pants and smiled at him.
    "Onwards then! Herio! [Charge!]" He crashed headlong into the thicket of trees before us and into the battlefield. Kevin, Arella and their sentients were already in battle. Kevin was shooting crazily.
    "Hey there, Ninglor!" he shouted over the roaring, turning his head slightly towards me. "Care to join us?"
    "You bet!" I yelled back, pulling out Galarnen, my sword. Menelvagor extended his silver fingernail-claws.
    "Nan guruth? [To death?]" I asked.
    "A athan... [And beyond...]" Menelvagor whispered, as we entered battle together, war cries on our lips.
    Default Digital Dreams (Begins)
    Name: Zane Trieste
    Age: 17
    Gender: Male
    Looks: Black animé style hair, short back and sides but long spikes at the front. Wears an eyepatch over his left eye (he claims to have lost it in a battle, but in truth his eye in intact) and has a long scar down his left cheek. He wears a sleeveless black top and black baggy jeans in black boots. He wears a metal armor on his right arm (his sword-wielding arm).
    Personality: Dark and brooding. Likes to keep to himself but is oftem ridiculing others. He enjoys the fight and likes to think of himself as the best. His pride and ego are bigger than his sword and he won't take help, or stick, from anyone.
    Weapon: Sword of Demons, basically a 6-foot metal sword that flows with the power of demons, with a glowing red liquid in the middle. If you look close enough, you can see demons in hell looking back at you. It may look heavy, but one taught to wield the sword correctly can summon the power within it to have the strength to lift it.
    Other: Nope.
    Sentient: Lothan
    S-Looks: 9 feet tall, he is a huge red demon and incredibly muscular. He has a dragon-like face as well as look like a wolf/dog but very human as well. He has giant black wings and wears black wristbands and black trousers. His hair is black and long. His long claws and teeth are yellow.
    Attacks: Hellfire: He can fire fireballs. Depending on how much time he spends on an attack, he can increase the size of the fireball. Normal fireballs that can be summoned in a second are the size of a soccer ball, whereas he has been known to summon fireballs as big as houses, but that usually takes about half a minute.
    Whiplash: He carry a whip made out of fire that takes a physical form. This whip can be used to contrict or attack foes.
    C-Attack: Furious Blade - Zane throws his sword into an enemy, creating a homing target for Lothan, who then summons a fireball from the portal of hell that can be created much faster than a Hellfire attack. Fireballs directly from hell also unleash a great amount of negative energy (cell-killing energy) upon the enemy. The fireball follows the sword and explodes once the sword is engulfed. The sword then returns like a boomerang to Zane.
    Strengths: Muscle and Magic
    Other: Nope.
    ---
    I was already logged into the game, in a Goblin village in the middle of a forest. The goblins were NPCs, keeping to themselves but were businessmen, and had some handy items that I might need. I was in a shop browsing at some of the items on offer. As I picked up a Goblin Potion, a ripple distorted my vision, and then it passed. I quickly dropped the potion and whipped out my Terminal. All seemed normal, until I heard Lothan yell my name. I turned around to the open door, but he was blocking my vision. I turned back to the counter and saw the goblin shopkeeper looking straight at me, a long green tongue licking his teeth and his pupils turned blood red. A telltale sign he meant business. I took a step back and put my right arm on my sword.
    "Stay back man, don't make me use this," I said. I was not often wanting to avoid a fight, but I came here for that very purpose. The goblin leapt up and launched at me. I unsheathed by sword and cut his in two, the two halfs pixellising and then dissolving. I ran outside to find that half the village had cornered Lothan and me against the wall.
    "What's wrong Lothan? Can't handle a few goblins?" I asked.
    "I can, but I was wondering whether I should attack," he replied.
    "Okay, it seems there is a glitch; the NPCs are now our enemies and I'd rather not stay in the forest. Use Whiplash to stall them and then fly us out of here," I commanded. Lothan nodded and go out a black wooden handle with leather bindings. As he swung it out, a flaming whip materialised and knocked back the goblins. I jumped on Lothan's shoulders and he flew off.
    Looking down on the forest, it soon turned to fields and then I saw a boy and a girl defeating a pig. I wondered and I got out my terminal.
    "It seems that the girl is the sentient. Interesting," I reported to Lothan. He nodded. I never usually met with other people. I preferred to go it alone. But, considering the circumstances, I might as well investigate what has happened.
    "Land."
    Lothan let himself drop, and then flapped his wings just before he hit the ground, bringing us to a stop. The boy and his sentient looked up. He was fiddling with his terminal. I leapt off Lothan and Lothan landed.
    "What's wrong? You looked distressed," I said. The boy looked up and then down again. He then cursed,
    "Why can't I log out?!" he said.
    "You can't log out? Impossible. Hold on, I'll try logging out," I said. I reached for my terminal and commanded it to log me out. Nothing happened. I tried it again, but nothing. Now I'm officially freaked out.
    "This must have been that ripple..." he said. I stared at him.
    "You were affected by the ripple too?" I asked. He nodded.
    "It seems we stranded here then. Lets hope the admin fixes it soon," I said, turning to Lothan. "What do you think we should do, Lothan?"
    "Perhaps it is not wise to go looking for trouble. If you can't log out, you can die if anything serious happened."
    "I'm Terri, by the way," the boy behind me said. I had almost forgot about him. I turned around.
    "Zane. This is Lothan, my sentient."
    Lothan feigned a smile.
    "And I'm Plagal!" the sentient piped up. I sat down and looked through my inventory.
    "Well, as long as we're stuck here, we might as well get used to this place," I said. I wondered if this was a glitch, or had something more serious taken place?
    Name: Kayla Hime
    Age: 18
    Gender: BOTH! HAHAHAHAHAHA- *lightning bolt* meep. Female.
    Looks: Straight blonde hair that goes down to her waist. She keeps some of it pulled back behind her head, and leaves some of the shorter strands free. Her eyes are a blue color, but for some reason they are dull enough to be mistaken for gray. She wears slightly baggy jeans, and a white t-shirt with a navy-blue pull-over on top of it. She usually wears the hood up, which hides her eyes well and gets her occasionally mistaken for a boy with long hair. 5'11
    Terminal: It looks like a cellphone. Dot dot dot
    Personality: She's withdrawn, quiet, an introvert, ect. At times she seems to not even have a personality at all. Her answer to many things is just to shrug and walk away. She speaks in a semi-monotone voice, which matches how she acts perfectly. She dislikes being the center of attention, but doesn't mind large crowds. She usually just likes sitting alone or with a close friend, talking. (Yes, she does talk to herself on occasion)
    Weapon: It's a sort of whip, with a blade on the end. It's supposedly really easy to control, even if it's in the air, but Kayla hasn't practiced with it enough to become really good.
    Other: She considers Kerberous her best friend, even though he isn't really real.
    Sentient: Kerberous
    S-Looks: He's a highly human-like sentient. His appearence is that of a 12 or so year-old boy. He has spiky black hair. His ears are two black dog-ears that are in the spot where normal ears would be. He can hold them against head for times like when he and Kayla (well, it's always his idea) make an unsuspecting random person guess who's the sentient and who's not. He wears a tiger-striped red and black bandanna. His canines are a bit long and his nails can be extended half an inch for fights. He wears a t-shirt the color of Kayla's pull-over, and short black shorts. Hidden beneath his shirt are tattoes of two wolf-like heads (one on each shoulder) and a third on his back.
    Attacks: Triple Phantom: (Works sorta like Double Team does in the Pokemon anime) He jumps into the air and suddenly appears to vanish. He suddenly reappears from a different direction and attacks, vanishing after doing so. He reappears and attacks again, and vanishes. He attacks one last time, but can't vanish after the third. This is really just an attack that focuses on his speed to bring out its power, and the success of it rapidly decreases with repeated use.
    Heat Strike: He can form flames on his feet and hands, which can then be thrown at opponents or used to enhance normal punches/kicks/scratches. If used for extended periods of times, it can drastically increase the temperature of the surrounding area.
    C-Attack: Fox Shadow: Kerberous creates two shadow-creatures that are somewhat like humans crossed with foxes, and they're also able to change into foxes. He controls one and Kayla controls the other. The creatures aren't able to be hurt, but if either he or she looses their concentration or their own bodies get heavily injured, the shadow they're controlling dissapears.
    Strengths: Speed, semi Pyro Magic, semi Offesive
    Other: Has really good hearing and smelling. Acts a bit childish at times.
    ~|~|~|~|~
    Kayla Hime ~ Kerberous
    “Shouldn’t you be logging off soon?”
    “No.”
    “But what about school?”
    “I’m skipping. There’s a field trip anyway.”
    “Kayla, you know that’s not good.”
    I gave a sleepy yawn and turned my head to the side. Kerberous was standing a few yards away from me, bored, and trying to skip rocks across the water. I was lying on the ground, dozing slightly. I’d been on for three hours, and it was only 8. I had to get up really early, or I’d never get to play this game at all.
    There was a small string of ‘plip-plip-plip’ as another rock went skimming. Kerberous turned to me, flicking his ears slightly at my lack of enthusiasm for anything and everything, and yawned. “I’m bored...”
    It was amazing, this game. Everything felt so real, seemed so real. Even my sentient had a personality. Granted, I sort of gave him it, but still...
    “OK, ya know what? That’s it. I’m going to go find something to do, and I don’t care if I have to drag you along with me, you’re coming!”
    With very little effort, he jumped out of the water towards the spot next to me. Then, something strange happened. He froze in mid-air. A ripple of some sort seemed to come through the water. It reached where I was, and passed. However, Kerberous seemed to ripple with the water... A glitch?
    He landed next to me. “Kerberous, what was that?”
    The dog-boy gave me a look of confusion. “What are you talking about?”
    “Didn’t you just...?” I cut myself off and took out my terminal. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary... No stats were affected, and everything seemed to be running ok.
    "Come on!" Kerberous gave a tug on my arm, and started walking off. Grumbling, I stood up and pulled my hood on. Sometimes I wish I had given myself a better sentient...
    We headed towards a forest when another ripple hit. This time I just shrugged it off; must be a bad day for the server.
    "Ya know what? This is boring. I'm leaving."
    "But Kayla...!"
    I gave a small glare to Kerberous before opening my terminal. I entered the command to log out, ignoring his complaining about first ditching school then ditching him. Now all I have to do is press...
    Huh?
    "Kerberous?"
    "... and I'm not saying this to be mean, but..."
    "Kerberous?!"
    "... really is for your own-"
    "KERBEROUS!" He stopped short. "What now?!"
    "I can't log out."
    He stared at me.
    "That's... impossible. Everything is functioning as it should..."
    "I can't."
    Gomenasai! I haven't been able to get my sign-up form up all weekend...Homework's been bogging me down!
    Name: Raven Tajiri
    Age: 16
    Gender: Female
    Looks: Raven has shoulder length black hair with blue streaks in, and she stands at around 5'8. Her eyes are icy blue. She wears a light blue tank top and baggy navy blue jeans.
    Personality: She's friendly and talkative, but if you annoy her, she can turn into a sarcastic cow, and a moody one at that. However, if you stay in her good books, she'll help you out whenever she can. It takes a while to gain her trust though...
    Weapon: A 3ft long sword that hangs by her side, when she's angry, it starts to glow a fiery red.
    Other: Nothing springs to mind...
    Sentient: Bonyari
    S-Looks: She's about the same size as Raven, with deathly pale skin. Her eyes have no pupils, but they change colours to match her emotions...Like blue for calm, green for envious...Her hair is waist long, and is a navy blue colour. She wears a black shirt over a white vest top, and black baggy pants. She has silver spikes coming from her wrists, they're about an inch long and most people mistake them for spiked wristbands.
    Attacks:
    Spiked Shield - Bonyari creates a shield that surrounds her and anyone close to her. If anyone tries to run into it, the spikes cut them.
    Pointed Punch - She clasps her hands together and smashes her wrists into the opponent, putting numerous holes into them...
    C-Attack:
    Jagged Sword - Bonyari merges with Raven's sword, making inch-long spikes spring from the metal. Raven then proceeds to attack the enemy, however, with Bonyari inside it, the sword is harder to use.
    Strengths: Speed and defence
    Other: Her name means absent-minded in Japanese...I think ^^;
    I'll post tomorrow, since the time I'm allowed on the Internet is about to run out...
    Name: Red Trinyuy
    Age: 15
    Gender: Male
    Looks: He stands about 5'9'', with tanned skin and a lanky build. His hair is a messy chocolate brown, and hangs over his eyes, which are a maroon-y color. He usually wears a crimson t-shirt with black wings drawn on the back, and slightly baggy dark blue jeans, with brown boots.
    Personality: Quiet, often considered to be one of those silent psychopaths, he prefers to bottle up his emotions than wear them on his sleeve. He's calculating and dangerous when provoked. He plays Dimension Jump simply because he can, and has nothing better to do with his spare time.
    Weapon: Telekinesis and telepathy. The only actual weapon he has are two medium-sized daggers, but they're blunt and don't really seem to work for fighting.
    Other: He's 'the cashier', if you've seen Anger Management. Bwahaha.
    Sentient: Amarath
    S-Looks: He looks human, around ten or so, very pale with blonde hair and diluted blue eyes. He wears a white t-shirt and dark blue jeans with various pockets on the legs. He doesn't wear shoes, and has white angel-like wings that arch from his shoulder blades. He also has a halo, but it's crooked, floating over the right side of his head.
    Attacks:
    Silent Cry: Whatever gun/artillery Amarath has at the time, he fires. However, the shot is silent. More acute characters can sense the vibrations in the air, though.
    Angel's Pyre: While this basically allows him to manipulate and summon fire, it's usually used as an attack.
    C-Attack:
    Demon's Prayer: Amarath and Red techincally 'fuse' for as long as they're able (which isn't usually very long at all), as do their personalities and appearances. Their weapon is, appropriately, a flamethrower, but the 'Red' part maintains some of his psychic power.
    Strengths: Artillery, (Fire) Magic, slightly Speed.
    Other: He's basically unemotional, seeming to care only slightly about Red. He tends to scare quite a few people when they find a ten year old holding a gun to their face.
    Red - Amarath
    -----------------------
    "Oh. It's you." I heard Amarath's bored tone before I saw him. He materalized next to me, rolling his eyes and streching his wings. A machine gun appeared in his hands, and he leant it against his shoulder.
    "Yeah. Miss me?"
    "Hardly. The nearest town is up ahead, shouldn't take that long to walk to." We were in a dense forest, but I could see some light seeping through from where we both thought the exit was.
    The path we were taking was overgrown, but luckily still visible.
    "Sh." Amarath stopped, and I was almost positive he was about to shoot.
    A sudden roar filled the air, as what seemed to be a wave of data-like energy swept past both of us. Amarath's eyes dulled, and he seemed to be at a loss for words.
    Once the wave was out of the forest, Amarath looked up to find me staring at him.
    "Are you alright?"
    "Yes." He looked at me as though I was crazy. I just shook my head, and we both kept walking.
    This time I paused, and sighed.
    "I'll be right back. I just remembered I have some Spanish homework."
    "Bye." Amarath watched me, preparing to leave the game as well - to wherever that kind of data went.
    "Damn. Can't log out."
    "Just wait for a while. Maybe they're upgrading the servers, or too many people are trying to log in and log off at once."
    "I guess. They usually don't jam though."
    We were almost out of the forest now...
    "Oh, how I hate random encounters." Amarath sighed, as he shot a few rounds at a large tiger-like creature that had appeared to guard the exit to the forest. It roared rather viciously, hissing when the bullet found their target.
    I, with some difficulty, managed to lift the tiger up, making it a huge orange and black-striped bullseye. I could only keep it like that for so long though, and it soon fell the ground with a heavy thud. We both continued with this strategy, Amarath firing at it to keep it distracted from me, and I would gather enough strength to mentally will the tiger to defy gravity.
    The tiger fell, as expected, and we started to head towards what looked like the town's gates.
    "Yay. Experience points."
    "Do you have to be so depressing?"
    "Not my fault, it's yours."
    It was 4:54 when I woke up. My Mom always left work early, so I had to the morning house chores. I got my clothes on and I went into the kitchen, that’s where I ran into the picture of my former 10 year old brother, Mike.
    Mike was hit by a car driven by escaped convict; he took that blow for me. This incident made my parents split and I was to live my mother, but she avoided me much as she can. Because I look allot like Mike.
    Beside the picture, was a video game box with a note on it.
    It read:
    Dear Dan,
    Sorry for being late last night, but I heard from my co-workers this game is taking up their kids' homework time, I don't have to worry about this with you. Enjoy.
    Love, Mom
    My mom might avoid me, but she still loves me. After, I got my chores done; I still have a lot of time before school starts.
    "(Oh, what heck,)" I thought, "(I might as well play, just to get of this rut.)"
    After I set it up, I began to create my sentient; I model him after my favorite movie monster, a werewolf. I made him big and strong. I named him Guard, because he would always protect me... like Mike did.
    After following the Log in Procedures, I was soon in a green meadow, and in front of me was Guard.
    "Whoa," I meeped, looking up to he big wolf
    "Master Donald?" he replied
    "Yes," I responded
    "... What should we do before your bus comes?"
    "I don't know, maybe we should chat with other players."
    Guard nodded, "That seems like a good plan,"
    Than everything, including me began to ripple.
    "What was that?" I said like I saw Mike getting hit again.
    Guard look into the distance, "Nothing normal, I can tell you that."
    I began to panic, "Maybe I should Log off," I tried to log off like they said in the manual, but nothing happened.
    I began to shutter, "I... can't... get off!"
    "Dan... Are your sure you did it right?"
    He called me Dan, we barely know each other and he is concern for me already, like father or bother.
    I gulped, "We should defiantly should talk to other players."
    Than I heard blasts from a nearby forest.
    Maybe there players there... or monsters.
    Guard knew I was scared, "Dan, we should check it out. In a mistake, there are thousands of perfect lessons."
    I just nodded, and we soon walk towards the forest.
    “Those ******* teachers as if I give a damn about how fast the boulder was falling.” I grumbled to myself as I stomped down the hall in school. The students in the hallway took one look at my face and practically ran out of the way. The smart people get out of Akira Lackey’s way when she’s in an especially bad mood.
    ‘Damn people here learn to fast. If only someone ****** would come along I’d have an excuse to punch someone, anyone.’ I thought glowering at anyone who dared to even glance my way. Unfortunately for me this kids at this school knew hard times and knew when to be scarce and careful. Most used their peripheral vision and knew when I was coming. The bright red hair gave me away. Even the teachers never crossed my path. They didn’t look as anxious but they were just better at hiding it.
    I had been bounced from school to school when I had finally ended up in then hellhole. I just had a problem with beating people up, which included teachers. I only hit them once but I took very careful aim for where it would hurt the worst. Not necessarily knock them out. Then again pain could mean a fast trip to sleepy Ville.
    The other schools I had gone to were not much better off. My mom worked as a waitress as some grimy place, which was only cleaned when the inspectors came. I hardly saw my dad as he worked down in the shipyard and came home at some unearthly hour and slept all day. Oh yes the fun life of being a low-class New Yorker.
    Needless to say these unhappy thoughts were doing nothing to improve my mood. When I got to my locker and someone was in the way? Oh they were just asking for it.
    I stomped up and gave that said someone-some brown-haired dude who was amazingly shorter then me-a very rough shove out of the way. He went flying to the left of my locker and slide along the ground for a foot or two. The people in the halls looked from me to him and practically ran away. All glad it wasn’t them. Back to the dude who jumped up and started to turn around saying, “Who in the hell do you! –”
    He then emitted a strangled squeak when he saw who it was and went from red to white faster then I could blink. I then rapidly stepped over to him and had him held up against a locker, my hand tightly against his throat, in 2 seconds flat.
    “I’m pretty sure I’m Ruhta but maybe the question should be who the hell are you?” I growled at him as the moving crowd gave us a very wide birth. He gurgled and looked terrified, hence my name. I never used my real name here; I only gave it to friends, of which I had none. So no one had ever known my real name. “Well?” I tighten my grip then loosened again no good if he couldn’t talk.
    “R- Ryan. I’m re-really really s-s-sorry. It won’t ha-hap-p-pen again.” He sputtered flicking his eyes everywhere but into mine. Right now they were probably an incredible light green. They always went that way when I was peeved and torturing some kid. Amazingly the glasses I wore had never gotten broken and I’ve been in more fights then I care to count. I always carried an extra pair though, just in case.
    “Your damn right it won’t because you’re going to memorize my locker.” I then grabbed his collar and turned him around to face it. “Its that one, the only clean one in this school. Why is it clean you may ask? Well cause NO ONE touches or goes near it but me. So keep your *** away from it from here on out GOT IT?”
    He nodded vigorously and I let go of his collar and he did a 180 before taking off at a sprint. I smiled spitefully at his retreating form. I was feeling a little better now that I had let off some steam. The whole hall seemed to calm down with me as well. Everyone knew once I had let off some steam I was ‘safe’. Well as safe as you could get around me anyway.
    I walked over to my locker and twirled the lock open. I stuffed my books that I didn’t need into it and got what I did need. I may be a ***** but that didn’t mean I didn’t work hard at my studies. I just hated all of mankind not the necessarily the homework they gave out.
    Oh and to note my locker was the only clean one in this school. One, no one messed it up or they’d be black and blue and two, I cared if it was clean and kept it that way. I closed my locker and slung my bag over my shoulder merrily walking down the hall. My path was clear, albeit only just and I had scared the living **** out of a kid that was actually shorter then me. All was good, not to mention my homework was minimal. That test had been a C too, but I aimed for B and above so I was not too happy earlier when I saw my mark.
    I made it to my unnoticed bike and unlocked it from the fence. I was one of the few kids here who even had a bike so I kept it well hidden and secure. It was in the back lot of the school, behind some dumpsters locked to a pole. No one had ever looked back here since I had come so it was safe.
    I hopped on and peddled my way home. No one here was going to part ways for me unless they were from school. My rep wasn’t that bad out in the big city. I weaved in between cars and people and it only took me 15 minutes to get home.
    My house was rather small and in not one of the better neighbourhoods, but not the worst either. There were only 2 small bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a living room and kitchen. I had been lucky and my part time job paid for my Internet. I got the best available because it was all I paid for, for now at least. I worked down in Central Park for the stables. I loved the horses there and I didn’t deal with people too often.
    I parked my bike in our tiny backyard and locked it to another pole. Never could be too careful, even with our high walls. No our backyard wasn’t mud it was a nice place and even had a decent tree to block the sun . . .
    BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BE-umph
    “Ah come on it was a halfway decent dream too! A little to real for my taste but meh, what’s a girl to do?” I mumbled to myself my hand on the off button for my alarm clock. I set it for 6am so I could do something . . . ah right Dimension Jump!
    I quickly got out of bed and bushed my hair and put on the school uniform. Thank goodness I could change my looks for the game. I’d never be caught dead wearing this. I loved the clothes I had made up for myself. Not to mention my Sentient was the perfect match to my fiery personality, always able to calm me down. I’m a genius I must say for making her the way she was.
    I went downstairs I heard my dad snoring from the bedroom and my mom had already left. It was funny I never saw my parents. I had then I’m sure but my mom worked all day and my dad all night. Anyway I wolfed down some breakfast and ran upstairs. I thought for a second and decided might as well skip school today, nothing much was going on just review for the exams.
    I changed into some more comfortable clothes and logged in. A light blinded me for a second but then I was there. In my clothes from real life, decided for practical today and comfy. I saw my Sentient loading in front of me and smiled.
    “Morning Kamoku.” I said once she was fully loaded. I didn’t like to say anything until she was all there.
    “Good morning Akira.” She smiled back. Ah yes the sturdy calming persona I had come to rely upon to keep me from beating anyone else. I needed to stay in this school, there were none left who would take me.
    “Anything interesting been happening since I was gone?” I said and gave my short swords a once over. Perfect condition.
    “Not really why don’t you check the Terminal?” she suggested and plucked on her bow a little making sure it was taught before slinging it back over her shoulder.
    “Right.” I said a looked at it. There seemed to be a battle going on not to far from here so I pocketed it and looked up at Kamoku. She was defiantly exotic, human but with many animals in one. Cat eyes, horse legs and eagle wings? Crazy maybe but she was my only friend in the world even if she wasn’t real. “There’s a battle going on just up ahead lets go take a look.”
    She nodded and took to the sky. I ran along the ground I didn’t want her carrying me unless it was necessary. I had recognized the names the terminal had given me from past battles either against them or with them. Usually the former, not many people knew me to be the corporative type.
    It was just then I noticed this weird well, wave-ripple thing headed right for me, covering everything in its path. I stopped dead and braced myself. I was swayed a little but nothing major.
    “Kamoku what was that?” I called up to her and she looked at me like I was nuts.
    “What was what? There was nothing.” She said and raised an eyebrow.
    “But . . . oh maybe the servers slow . . .” I mumbled and was about to continue running when I saw it coming again. I braced again and watched Kamoku. She had started to fly down to me but when the ripple hit she wobbled, the whole picture wobbled and stopped.
    I frowned as it passed and she landed next to me with a look of strained patience. My hair flew around for a second and I looked at the stats. That was all normal so what as going on?
    “What’s they matter come on lets go expel some of that anger of yours.” Kamoku said jokingly, wanted to fight badly.
    “I’m FINE Kamoku but oh it was just odd. Ah well let’s go. Remember RUHTA.” I said and we made it to the fight with a bunch of people there. I shrugged the more the faster this is done with and on to the next. I pulled out my swords and looked up at Kamoku. “Lets go kick butt!”
    The two of us walk around the trees; Guard had more difficulty than me. Than I gotten into deep trouble, because I saw two other players engaging against two monsters.
    Guard step up next to me, "Should we join them, Dan?"
    I just swallowed hard, "No, let's just wait till they're done to ask questions," Than I spotted a girl and her sentient ran towards us, "Or maybe we should ask her."
    The two of us walk over the approaching girl, "Excuse me Miss, Can I-"
    But she than cut me off, "Let's rumble!"
    She began to whip some sort of blades around. I began to back off. What should I do?
    "Dan, your weapon." said Guard, right after he tried to lunge his dragger sizes claws at the girl's sentient.
    I pulled out my wooden sword. The girl just chuckled at my weapon, unaware to its power.
    It was a good than I watch all those samurai movies and shows.
    I positioned my self in ready position, than I began to charge to the girl...
    Sally Mishima~Zuki
    ********************
    We were passing over a forest when the second ripple hit. Once again, everything froze, including our forward progress, resulting in me floating above the trees.
    "Is something wrong?" asked Zuki when he saw my slightly nauseous face.
    "Another anomaly. We're walking the rest of the way," I ordered. Though the ripple caused every program, including gravity, to freeze, I didn't want to be in the air in that awkward position again. Zuki descended into the trees and lightly placed me on the forest floor. I rechecked my bearings on the terminal, as well as noting that nothing odd could be noted from the ripple. It had to be messing with the game somehow, but it still wasn't apparent how.
    We continued walking until we came to a clearing where two boys, one very young-looking and the other in his late teens talking with each other and looking at their terminals. Their Sentients stood by them, one a chibi girl and the other a red demon giant. I was going to pass them by until their conversation turned toward me and the older boy called out. "Hey! Can you log out?"
    I stopped and slowly turned toward them, Zuki taking his place behind my left shoulder. "Log out?"
    "Yeah, we'd really like to know." piped in the little boy.
    "You can't log out," I said, more of a statement than a question. "Are you newbies, or just stupid?" They both seemed highly insulted, but I really didn't have time to have a bout with the two. "Fine, what you do is you take your terminal-"
    "We know how! We just can't!" Yelled the teen. Now I was getting annoyed at them.
    "Fine, if it'll make you feel better, I'll log out, get a glass of water, then come back. Ne?" I grabbed my terminal, quickly saved my position, and then gave the command to log out. I replaced the terminal, waited...
    And nothing happened. I grabbed the terminal again and repeated the command. I tried various codes to try to get around the glitch, to no avail.
    "You can't log out," Zuki said quietly. "Are you a newbie, or just stupid?"
    "That's not necessary. My words are already leaving a nasty aftertaste." I couldn't log out? If I couldn't find a way to log out, after studying the code for this game the number of hours I did, then we were stranded. Why? What caused it?
    "The ripples...that must be when this error started."
    "Yeah, we already thought of that." said the little kid. I guess they were still angry about my insults. I might as well make amends before leaving.
    "I'm sorry I insulted you. I've often been referred to as insensitive," I said, giving a small bow.
    "I tell her hourly," quipped Zuki. I ignored him.
    "My name is Mishima," I told them. "And this is Zuki, my Sentient. I hope we can start considering ourselves friends."
    "Well, I'm Terri Xi," said the boy.
    "And I'm Plagal!" said the chibi girl. She was hyper and had a piece of paper on her forehead.
    Since the teen seemed to still be too insulted to introduce himself, Xi announced him as Zane Trieste and Sentient Lothan. I bowed once more to both of them, then started leaving.
    "Hey!" called Xi. "Where are you going?"
    "There's a battle that I want to see, so I'm walking over."
    "A battle? You really shouldn't be hunting for a fight. Since we can't log out, there's a possibility we might die for real if something happened." At least Trieste cared for me enough to caution me.
    I turned around to face them once more. "Then I'll just keep that from happening, won't I?" The coldness in my voice stopped both of them from replying with any dumb remarks. "If you want, you can come. I don't plan on fighting, only observing." They looked at each other, and agreed to come, making my small journey into a troop of six: a chibi boy with a chibi Sentient, a brooding boy with a Sentient who might mirror one of his inner demons, and I with Zuki. What a happy little gang.
    Two more players and their sentients joined us as Gavin, Arella and I fought the two beasts. The girl I knew pretty well, but I didn't recognise the boy. "Probably a newbie," I thought as I sank my blade into the right heel of one of the monsters. It roared in pain and tried to kick me away, but I used my sword as a pivot to swing me higher up, splitting sword to become two smaller fighting knives as I went. One knife in each hand, I used them as hooks to aid me in climbing up the monster's leg, making little holes from which green blood gushed.
    I went up faster and faster as I came to his stomach, then torso. Finally reaching his shoulder, I took a quick break, flexing my arm muscles, while waiting for Menelvagor, who was still methodically using his claws to climb up from the other leg. The creature roared and shook his large lion-like head angrily.
    "Oh shut up, you!" I muttered, combining my knives into a long sword once more and thrusting it into its neck. Green blood bathed my hands as Galarnen pierced through its weak spot, where its black scales grew less. Menelvagor climbed up onto its face swiftly and pulled his claws into the beast's red eyes. He jumped down with a somersault, escaping the deadly paws of the creature as it slashed at its face, trying to find the thing that had blinded it. I too did a twirl as I jumped from the beast's shoulder and landed one one knee beside Menelvagor.
    Flipping my black hair out of my eyes, I stood up to watch the creature gorge deep scars in his already bloody face, and crash to the ground with a great roar that raised to hairs on my arm and a trememdous crash which shook the ground.
    The girl kept on coming a furious attack. I quickly stood there, with a tight grip on my sword. My plan was just to club the girl with it. I'll rush in at a fast pace and I manage to dodge he first slash and I mage to hit her on the shoulder. He looked angrier than when I first engage her.
    "You die now!" he cried as she lifted her swords over her.
    "Oh, Space crud," I whimpered.
    Than everything went black. What happen? Did I lost? Than I felt like I was being tugged away. Than I was out in the light again. I saw that I was dragged out of a black area that I was in just a while ago. I urn to see that Guard save me from losing my life. I began to breath hard because of the intensity of the match, than I soon fell to my knees.
    Guard patted my back for comfort, "Are you alright?"
    "My Health Points are almost gone."
    Than I turn to the two other players that I meet before I was attack. They began to approach me. I draw my sword for defense, than I notice that witch cracked my sword, just barely but noticeable...
