"You've got mail!" my laptop announced.
"Huh?" I said, turning around from my desk, where I was jotting down lyrics for a new song. I opened up my laptop and read the e-mail, which told me I was to appear on a new show and to be at harbor five at midnight to catch a boat.
"Awesome!" I squealed, something I loved doing now that my parents didn't yell at me for acting immature when I did so. I closed my laptop and wheeled my chair back to my desk and finished writing down the lyrics, then hid them away under my mattress, along with the rest of the songs I'd written. I checked my watch. It was only 6:15, so I hopped into bed and took a quick nap.
When I woke up, I stared blankly for a few seconds at the clock on my nightstand, waiting for my vision to clear. When it finally did, I noticed it was 11:04. I gathered my drum pads, drum sticks, my song lyrics, plus some clothes in my backpack and hopped on my Vespa (Non character Note - A Vespa is a motor scooter, if you've ever seen FLCL, it's what Haruko has, except Rieko's is red) and drove down to the harbor.
When I arrived, I noticed a girl about my age, looking quite loaded down with instruments. She seemed to have 2 guitars, one of which was slung on a strap over her shoulder. She seemed to be writing something, most likely a song. I pulled up beside her.
"Hi there, did you get the email too?" I asked.
She nodded back at me, barely looking up from her notebook. "Uh.... okay..... My name's Rieko, what's yours?" I asked.
"Paige." She replied quietly. "Paige Bluemingdale." Then went back to writing in her notebook.
I sighed and drove about 10 feet away from Paige and sat on my Vespa, waiting patiently for the boat and my chance to make it big.
