Rumors of Bills backyard

I've heard rumors of getting into Bill's backyard by defeating the Pokemon League 60 times. I want to know whether this is true.

Sorry, but no. When people say that you can unlock a hidden feature in a Pokemon game by doing something a certain number of times, it's generally not true. The only exception that I can think of offhand is the Battle Frontier in Emerald.

I have also heard rumors that when you get all 150 Pokemon, you can get a diploma from Professor Oak that lets you into Bill's backyard. Is this true, or not true?

Well, the first part is partially true. When you get all 150 Pokemon - minus Mew - with their full entries recorded in the Pokedex (you have to capture/trade for them to get the full entries), you can go to the GameFreak headquarters in Celadon City. A man there will give you a diploma when you talk to him. (It's not Professor Oak, though.) This doesn't do anything, however; it's just something to look at.

Note that in the Japanese games, instead of a diploma, the man in the GameFreak HQ gave you a Mew. That, in my opinion, was a much better prize. :/

Actually, that's not true either. I don't know where that rumour started, but I checked with several people who have a Japanese copy of Green, and they don't get Mew.

Certain pokemon only being attainable through promos kills the game.

I still think having certain pokemon available in certains games is bad enough. The hell I'm forking out double money for 10 pokemon I can't get, but it still pisses me off.
