    Default help on Mt. Chimney against Archie

    I am playing sapphire version, but that doesn't really matter at the part that i am having problems at. My team consists of 3 pokemon at the moment...

    Marshtomp, lvl 28,
    holding: quickclaw
    Tackle
    Mud Shot
    Mud-Slap
    Water Gun

    ----

    Kadabra, lvl 28
    not holding anything
    Confusion
    Recover
    Disable
    Psybeam

    ----

    Ralts, lvl 19
    not holding anything
    Growl
    Confusion
    Double Team
    Teleport

    ---

    I know my team is very unbalanced and the weakness is obviously dark pokemon (I got annhilated by Mightyena.). i was wondering what a good addition to my team would be or a good TM would be to give to a poke (one that i would have so far) . Thank you for your help

    no offence, but your pokemon are horably weak... they should be around 40 in my oppinion.. I suggest a fighting pokemon to kick those dark pokes aside

    I wouldn't say they should be 40 around Mt Chimney, Flannery's Torkoal is level 28, isn't it?

    Archie gave me hassle for a while. Use Marshtomp's mud shot to lower his speed and get in a good shot. I found that attack very useful, I used Marshy myself.

    Alternatively, give Kadabra the quick claw and try and disable Mightyena's dark attack, I can't remember what it is. Maybe make him use it to k.o Ralts, then bring Kadab' out and disable it.

    Edit: Perhaps catching a Machop outside Firey Path and train it up. That'd do well, especially later on against Norman.

    i would level my pokemon to level 40 but i only have 3 badges, and according to the game, the highest level i could have a pokemon is 30. that explains my weak pokemon. lol. I will try to catch the machop next time i play. Thank you.

    the thing i did was i just got my mudkip, leveled it like mad, but didn't train my other pokes.

    that way i had a lvl30-lvl34 marshtomp. the badge limit only goes for traded pokes....

    so with that crazy marshtomp i crushed archie.

    Perhaps try fielding a team of SIX when going up vs a boss trainer??

    Basically don't bother taking Psychic types vs Dark, especially underevolved ones with only Psychic damage attacks. Marshtomp is fine, but for goodness sake get yourself a fighting type or two. Plenty of Machops in the area. Volbeat is also an option, as Dark are vulnerable to Bug as well.

    Or level up your Ralts to *at* least Kirlia (only one level to go!) and teach it Thunderbolt. Shock Wave is also an option for your Kadabra.

    For Mightyena I'd raise a Makuhita or Machop and make it evolve.

    For Golbat just use your Kadabra or evolve your Ralts.

    For Sharpedo like rinku said evolve your Ralts and give it Thunderbolt or you could catch an Oddish and evolve it.
