Macho Brace -AND- Sub/Reversal Questions

I've heard that Macho Brace makes my pokemon receive double the EV's, is this true?

-AND-

Can a Sub/Reversal pokemon be somehow pulled off in Ru/Sa/Fr/Lg in-game or is this trick only for Bots?

Yes to both.

For Sub + Reversal\Flail, though, you have to make sure that the user's HP isn't divisible by four.

That's the sole purpose of the macho brace. The pokemon gets twice as many EV's but its speed is reduced for as long as the item is attached. If another pokemon on your team is holding exp. share, though, it'll still just get the normal number of EV's (just in case you didn't already know/assume that, as its another common question)
