    Default Button techniques

Does anyone still use those button techniques that we kept hearing worked in RBY for catching pokemon, like holding up+B when the ball closed, or hitting Start, A, B in a certain timing to make a pokeball a masterball? Did any of those ever work (or, better yet, do any of them work now?)

[color=magenta]Meh, I used to mess around with that stuff back when R/B/Y was out, (mainly in that annoying Safari Zone) and I also tried it a little in G/S/C, but it never really seemed to work for me. Some people swear by it though, so maybe it did work, but my timing was just off. However, I think that Nintendo fixed that glitch in G/S/C, and definitely by the time the Advanced Generation games came out. Nintendo seems to tighten up on the different glitches with every batch of games that they release.

I do actually still do the Up+B/Down+B kinda like a habit now when im capturing anything. Whether it works or not it just feels wierd now if i dont do it lol.

    I try using A+B and R+L every time I throw a ball.

No idea whether or not it really works, mostly just habbit (and it does SEEM to work, but who knows)

I still do up+B religiously, because (like Ultimate Charizard said) it feels weird not to.

I've done stuff like that ever since I heard that it worked back in the RBY days. I'm pretty they don't work, but I still do them. It's basically become a ritual for me now.
    Here's what I do:
When throwing a pokeball, I shake the control pad back and forth with the pokeball
When my pokemon takes damage, I hold down B and Right
When I attack, I hold down A until the other Pokemon's damage meter is done dropping

in the first series, I feel the dpad and b for capturing worked 90% of the time, and like with the stadiums, and I still think on xd and colosseum, hitting buttons while defending and attacking increased critical hits, and misses...

I actually just press the A button repeatedly. I've been doing it for like, ever. As many people have said, it feels wierd not to.
