If you don't mind Wrestling games then I say try WWE Smackdown: Here comes the pain. Or the sequal Smackdown vs Raw which comes out in november. The only other Multiplayer PS2 game I have that I play alot is MvC2 which you already have.

Go online or go home.
Until Sony wakes up and decides to catch up to modern times, those are your options for truly bitchin' multiplayer action.
It seems Mashed is sweeping the nation (well, the UK) at the moment. A lot of people are addicted, apparently. I've only played a demo, but I enjoyed it. Think Micro Machines, but not on breakfast tables and in bubble baths. Might be worth giving it a try.

Timesplitters!!! How the crap did I forget that? lol If you haven't tried it already, Ryandude, the multiplayer on that is the closest thing to Goldeneye on today's consoles. Mind you, a lot of the team that worked on it also worked on TS, so it's no surprise. Go for TS2. Lot more options, lot more fun.
Yeah, Red Faction has a multiplayer mode. Bit limited compared to RF2, though (on the PS2 version, at least).
