Default Is there an Electrician in the house?

Ok im just confused. I need an electric type but i dont know what to go for.

Jolteon - Not too good with the Eon's. Never had a decent one in my team.

Raichu - An old Favourite but ive used them that much i think something different may be better.

Electabuzz - Never trained one before, ever so not sure of their strengths or weaknesses.

Zapdos - Already have 2 Fliers in my team and thats a huge rock Weakness.

Any help i get will be welcomed, i just cant make up my mind.

How about Magnetric? Pretty much like Raichu, only better HP, Defense, Speed and Special Attack (lower Attack and Special Defense, but then it probably isn't using Attack and pure Electric isn't vulnerable to any elemental type attacks anyway).

    Crunch(Egg)/Bite
    Thunderbolt (TM)
    Roar
    Thunderwave/Charge/Attract(TM)/Double Team(TM)/Substitute (FRLG Tutor)

Thunderwave & Roar are the standard para-shuffler moves, though Static and Thunderbolt mean that you can still parashuffle with just Roar. Electric and Dark attacks give solid coverage - no single type is resistant to both, and the only dual types resistant to both are Grass/Dark, Grass/Fighting and Steel/Electric. Not too bad a set to deal with if you are forced to - none of them have an especially high Special Defense or Ground attacks (apart from HP Ground), so it is possible to beat them toe-to-to if you are forced to.

Once you reach the Breeding Center, Cross Chop on Electabuzz can be helpful if you need a Fighting attack. But for now, I would go with Jolteon. I had reasonable success with a Thunderbolt/Thunder Wave/Attract/filler Jolteon, and I believe it is faster than Raichu anyway. If you go for Raichu, fill the remaining slot with Sweet Kiss, maybe.

    But hey. Your call.

Forgot Magneton and Electrode, but guess you don't like the inorganic Electrics...

OK. For long I've used Jolteon as my choice Electric. The limited Movepool is what makes him not very good, though. If you wanted to use one, you could go for:

    Thunderbolt
    Thunder Wave
    Hidden Power Water/Grass/Ice
    Substitute/Charm/Wish

This is the suggested Moveset. I'm not a big expert on Jolteon, but those are some of his best moves.

If you want something fiercer, Electabuzz is the way to go. His Stats are all better than Raichu's (Except Attack.) and he has a more especialized Movepool. One of the Electrics with the most variety of attacks. You can go either Physical or Special. I recommend Special:

    Thunderbolt
    Thunder Wave
    Ice Punch
    Filler (Counter/Psychic are some recommendations.)

For Ice Punch, you'll have to breed a female 'Buzz with Hitmonchan. Overall, Electabuzz is one of the best old-school Electrics. If you don't like the frail Jolteon, go with 'Buzz, it's very good.

Assuming you need this pokémon prior to beating the E4 and getting access to the breeding centre on Four Island...

Electabuzz will be pretty much a variation on Raichu, since you won't be able to breed on the other elemental punches. That doesn't make it *bad*. You'd probably be looking at something like:

    Thunderbolt
Light Screen/Thunder Wave (note that the latter is Tutor only)
    Psychic(TM)
    Counter(Tutor)

Actually, being able to take Psychic makes it *very* different from Raichu, now that I think about it...

    Hmm...Psychic. Thats tempting.

Can anyone tell me where to get Thunderbolt TM also, as for now my Electabuzz only has Thunderpunch.

Electabuzz learns Thunderbolt at Lv.47. Elekid at Lv.41. Just in case you don't have money, but if you can afford the TM, go for it.
