    *Awakening*

    Thump... Thump... Thump... The small, insignificant noise of a heart beating. Slowly, it started to echo through a until now sleeping soul. Forever imprisioned in its own misery, and guilt. As a painful memory replayed over and over in its head. An aching memory of what perviously had happened, slowly the words of the memory faded, and its soul rested in peaceful darkness.
    The creatures rage suddenly turned the peaceful darkness upside down, feeling as it was constantly tumbling down an endless pit of darkness. consumed in its own hatred and envy. It felt its own mind coming back into play, as the memory was faint, the words were clear. 'I hate You...'
    Like a broken records the female voices words replayed over and over again, until the mind reached a point of breaking. As the echoing rage came through, the creature swung its head around, slight resistance against the liquid feeling around it. A soft, and slightly painful wack to the head made it stop.

    Maybe it was a jump start to the weak minded creature, at the point it was at, it was more emotional torn then anything could be. As the Memory faded away, its true identity lost forever. It's eyelid twitched with nervousness.
    Nervousness of seeing the world around it? Or in a childish hide and seek game? Just waiting for the courage and precise time to open them.

    It stung! The Liquid that held the creature back stung! It flood into its eyes just as a new cover of a clear substance covered them over, protecting them from further harm.

    Staring blankely at the image in front of it, a man. Standing right in front of it. Staring inwards, as it stared out. He smirked a evil type of smirk before leaving.
    'No... don't Leave!' It thought, crashing up against the tubes. Not noticing how the noise it was creating disturbed the others beside it. 'Come back! Come Back!'

    The substance gave away. Crashing out of the tube, and the sound of shattering peices of glass around it. The creature was uterrly confused, as the noise hurt its newborn like ears, anger fallowed suit. As a warm feeling flowed up the throat like vomit up a sick childs. But instead came flames. A evil black flame erupted from its jaws just as giant metal doors made of unknown types closed.
    'He left...'
    Thump...Thump...Thump...Thump... A faint heart beating.. Signalling life, a confusec creature looked down at itself. 'What am I?'

    *slowly waking up*

    "Mom, who's at the door?" The young boy asked, looking up from his magazine. Their was no response. "Mom?" The boy stood up, and started to walk towrads the door.
    It was silence, nothing to be heard. The power had recently shut off, until someone had knocked on the door. His mother had went to get it, but the boy hadn't heard anything yet from his mother.
    " Mo-" He talk ended, as a rag was tied around his mouth, and the dream continued to play in the mans mind.
    This seemed to be all that was remembered, as it continued to play back in his mind, for hours and hours and hours, until he heard the smashing of glass.
    This seemed to startle him, and he opened his eyes to look through the green liquid. It stung his eyes a bit, and it took quite a while to focus, until he finally saw.... A wolf-like creature standing in front of the tubes. Fire suddenly spit out of his mouth, and the creatures eyes widened in shock.
    In the tube, the beast tried to flail it's arms, get out of this liquid. But there was no escape, so he slowly shut his eyes and tried to fall back asleep.

    Imani Dune

    I was floating, floating...

    I opened my eyes. I really was floating! The liquid wasn't water, but some brown stuff. How come I wasn't drowning? My nose was covered by some kind of mask. Wait a minute... My nose, my hands, my tail! My tail!?! A long tail drifted within eyesight.

    I couldn't believe it. Then again...no, I couldn't remember how I got here. I couldn't remember anything! All that I could remember is that I was once human. I looked down at my hand-turned-paw. A silver bracelet hung from it. There was a name on it. "Imani Dune," it read.

    Is that my name? I put my paw up and touched glass. Glass. Great. I'm stuck in a tube. I closed my eyes and sighed. I'm too tired to try to break out. Might as well take a nap to recharge myself. I drifted back to sleep.

    A while later I woke up, but this time I was on the floor. I looked around. There were other creatures. They didn't look like me, but I could tell that they were once like I was: human. "Whoever did this is going to pay," I said weakly.

    One of the creatures caught my eye. It looked just like a kangaroo, except smaller and weaker. I struggled to my feet and fell again. I was just so weak. I opened my mouth to speak to the other creature. "Do you know where we are?" I asked.

    Default {X POKES} BEGINS

    Name: Drake Costello
    Gender: Male
    Human Looks: Tall, at 5'11. Drake had black hair in a pudding-bowl cut, dark grey eyes, and a gymnastic build. For the most part, he did the two-shirt look, a long-sleeved black shirt under a short-sleeved grey one. Along with that, he wore baggy cargo jeans, and combat boots, as well as a black baseball cap.
    X Pokes Looks: See attachement.
    Type: Ice/Psychic
    Attacks:
    ~ Soul Illumination: Drake makes an opponent relive their worst memory, disabling them for a time.
    ~ Chrysalis: Drake is covered in a transparent coccoon while he regains health. The coccoon does not dissapear until it is either destroyed or he is totally healed.
    ~ Call of the Clouds: Drake is able to summon clouds, which can help electric and water type teammates, should they be able to manipulate them. He can call upon them to snow, healing him while draining his opponents of strength.
    Personality: Before, Drake was a dark, moody kid, the rebel wherever he went. Not a goth, but not someone who you'd be able to get a smile from easily, either. After his transformation, Drake isn't so much dark and moody as he is quiet and thoughtful. He is able to provide a rare glimmer of hope in the darkest of situations, and his presence can help to lift the spirits of others. However, sometimes even he is overcome with fear, pain, rage or sorrow, and when he is, it tends to become contagious.
    Relationship: He is rather outcast from most of the group, not wanting to have to deal with a bunch of moody super-pokemon. Still, he knows he's stuck with them, so he tries to avoid stepping on any toes when he can. Otherwise, open =/
    History: Drake was raised in a kind, loving family, but adopted a rebellious persona. He refused to do school assignments, skipped classes, even ran away at one point. That was when the scientists pulled him off the street and began experimenting on him.
    Memory: Right before he left home, he yelled and cursed at his little brother. When he ran away, he found in his pack a note from his brother, wishing him luck and leaving him with twenty dollars. He never quite got over that.
    Other: *Leaves other out in the snow to freeze*

    /\~Drake Costella~/\

    Everything was dark... I liked the darkness, in it I felt secure... But I was restless. In my sleep, I stirred, my eyes opening. All around, I saw brown liquid. I couldn't see very far in it...

    As I floated, I reached out with a hand, and encountered glass. Why was there glass? I brought my hand up to my face's level, feeling the contours of the glass. Suddenly, I froze. That couldn't be my hand... it looked like a cloud with crystal shards sticking out of it.

    I brought my other hand up to my face, and found that it was the same. Turning my head down, I felt a chill go down my spine. I had... paws. And a tail... What was I?

    Slowly, I fell back into the darkness, not knowing the answers to the questions that were whirling about in my sluggish mind.

    ------------

    When I awoke again, I realized that I was no longer suspended in liquid. I was sprawled out on a cold, hard floor, sopping wet and gasping for air. My eyes flickered open, and I saw around me several creatures. Creatures like me. Creatures that, at one point or another, had undoubtedly been human.

    I pushed myself to my feet, wobbling a bit. I kept my rear on the ground, merely supporting my upper body with my front legs. I watched wordlessly as the creatures around me examined themselves. Most of them were dark, menacing figures. I shuddered. Who would do this to us?

    ~Name: Daryon (I like the name, ok? >_>; ). Never reveals his last name (he might not even remember it...).
    ~Gender: Male
    ~Human Looks: He was kind of tall and more sinew than muscle, with messy black hair of even length with bangs that fell into rather colorless brown eyes. Pale skin from lack of sunlight. He dressed goth, in black T-shirts and baggy jeans covered in chains and buckles, sometimes with a black leather overcoat. He had a spiked black bracelet on his both wrists, a silver watch on the left, a silver hoop earring in his left ear, and a necklace of a pewter dragon claw clutching a black orb with a sword protruding from the top.
    ~X Pokes Looks: A slightly large silver wolf (about 5 1/2 feet from snout to tail tip), slender in build, and with icy blue eyes. Upon further inspection, some of his fur is shown to be non-melting ice formed into hair-like structures mixed in with regular fur. Has sharp, pearly-white fangs, the canines long enough to be drawn down over the lower lip in a menacing fashion. His tail is covered in what looks like black calligraphy-like markings, swirly patterns reminiscent of Chinese silk paintings. He has two similar lines coming down from either eye and curving back. Has serrated claws that can be retracted like a cat's. Cannot walk on his hind legs.
    ~Personality: Quiet and hopelessly depressed, he almost never speaks and tends to keep to himself. He is very intellectual and will always work things out in his head before he acts, and is usually very quick-thinking. Always pessimistic and is easily annoyed, though slow to anger. Prefers to think of bullies as people who feel good only when hurting others, and does his best to turn this back around. He sees no need in useless conversation and will criticize those who he thinks talk too much.
    ~Type: Dark/Ice
    ~Attacks:
    -Faint Attack: Duh.
    -Ice Needles: Similar to Jolteon's Pin Missile attack, this move fires rigid icy hairs at high speed.
    -Frozen Crunch: Ice-powered Crunch attack. Cold prevents the wound from healing at a normal rate.
    ~Relationship: Open
    ~History: Nothing too extraordinary. Had a family -- a mom and dad and an 18-year-old older brother. His parents were still together, something that set his life apart from that of most of his friends, but they often argued. This arguing was mostly over Daryon and/or his brother, but he learned by age nine to block it out. His brother smoked pot and drank, and was usually out at parties getting wasted. He had been arrested several times for DUI. Because of his less-than-favorable home life, Daryon became depressed and started hanging out with the goth kids at his school. The scientists took him when he was walking home from his friend's house after a late afternoon of reading depressing poetry. (er, wasn't supposed to sound funny like that )
    ~Memory: He remembers a specific incident, which is probably what drove him over the brink into depression. His brother had just gotten home from prison. Daryon had been minding his own business, reading in the living room, when his brother came over to him and for no apparent reason, started calling him some very nasty things. He hit him. And his parents didn't do a thing; they were too scared of his brother.
    ~Other: Was left-handed (er?).

    >+-Daryon-+<

    Pain...

    Pain remembered, pain without a reason. A cry for help unanswered. Fists pounding on a young body caught unprepared. A book fell to the floor, a stream of blood dripped from a broken nose. Screaming ringing in half-deafened ears. When finally the pain let up, a figure, faint yet somehow familiar. "I hate you, Daryon..."

    Eyes opened to liquid all around.

    Is that... My name? Painful memory, the only memory. What am I...? Remembering only having once been human, and the pain of a beating by someone close. Nothing more.

    A large paw was raised to the glass. Is that mine? A glance down; a silver tail covered in black markings. Anger suddenly: What has been done to me? Thrashing about, glass buckling beneath great force, and finally, open air; freedom.

    A creature resembling a black-marked silver wolf now lay sprawled on a cold, tiled floor. Drawing several shuddering breaths, the creature looked dully about itself in confusion.

    Voila, vagueness
    Yeah, I can break necks with my mind.

    Name: Z (Yes... Zee... )
    Gender: Female
    Human Looks: No one seems to really recall or have much of a record of her appearance before. She seemed to have evidence of sky blue eyes and traces of slightly tanned skin upon record, but for some reason the rest of her document was erased.... most likely lost in a fire or accident.
    X Pokes Looks: She has the body overall of a cat or wolf-like creature. Her body is about the size of a large tiger. She has muscular, fully-clawed forelimbs of a big cat... but her hind legs are like that of a strong steed, hooved and all. Her head is that of a wolf-like creature, however her ears are cattish and her eyes are slitted, along with a pair of small horns protruding from behind her cat ears and gently curling a bit above them. She has strangely, four tails. One of them is like a horse, while the other three are wolven. She also has deep, black fur covering her entire body that seems silky and like a cat. About her paws and hooves the fur is courser, and more like a wolf. Her body is obviously muscular, and she does have two strange and only slight buldges upon her ribcage towards her spine. She has a horse-like mane along her neck, which is far silkier in texture however. There are also several silver and slightly golden markings of glimmering context along her back, outside limbs and upon her muzzle and just beneath the eye. These little markings are intricate and very well designed (think of elven-like symbols).
    Type: Psychic/Dark/????
    Attacks:
    Backlash - She tends to use this attack when annoyed or threatened. Her body sends or emits a sharp wave that sends whatever is in front of her backwards. The 'length' for how far backwards depends on her mood and power.
    Deafen Silence - She gets slightly peaceful, with an inner rage hiding beneath her. Her body then will project a visual image of herself. With this, she can control her 'projected' self to go through walls. However, if her image is disturbed it fades away faster, the more attacked the faster it disappears. It cannot attack anyone else, but it can speak when she uses her mind to make it speak.
    Fallen - Eerie metallic wings seemed to erupt from her back. These wings are seemingly mirrored after angel-like wings, but isntead of having feathers they have see-through diamond like shards and are rimmed in metallic silver-like material with jagged edges. Summoning these wings are extremely painful, and some times involuntary.
    Personality: She's rather dark and doesn't seem to talk very much. When she does, her words are short. She's not usually... angry with the others, but she comes across that way and often they get a misperception of her. Only perhaps one or two of them would actually trust her secretive self. She does seem to be filled with great wisdom if she does speak... but deep inside she hides a burden of some sort. She doesn't speak of it. It does tend to wear against her...
    Relationship: None so far... any accepted.
    History: She doesn't recall anything from her past... or at least, that's what she'll tell if anyone asks. It is apparent she might remember some thing or that some thing is definately wrong with her body because she occasionally has little 'trances' of pain. She was the first one to wake up as well... when the man came and then left.
    Memory: There perhaps is one... but she won't tell...
    Other: She seems to have some thing weird with her metallic-like wings... a symbol.

    Z

    Memories... unwanted memories of almost nothing seemed to float upon the mind like an unwanted breeze. It buzzed with in the soul... emitting a soft wave that soon grew into an annoying vibration that wouldn't go away. The vibration spreads... the waves overlapping until it became a tidal of pain, thrashing against the soul until it screamed. It burned... like flames igniting within the flesh and burning until the smell of rotted and singed tissues would reach the noise. Of course... no screams, no feeling of anything but blinding pain could ever arise.
    All... from memories... flashes of fleeting moments that don't have meaning. Don't make sense... yet, the feelings... the emotion... they are clear.
    Pain...

    The man, he was dark at first until the light of the liquid reflected upon his features.
    FLASH It was as if time were frozen for less than a split second... the image of the man ever so etched into the brain, the memory that seemed like that of a camera. Perfect in it's capture... unraptured by flaws. Perfection.
    Z's eyes had opened, their illusive and practically glowing violet rings staring directly at the figure. Her mind was open... reaching out amongst all things in the room like hungry hands that needed to feel.
    Like a child just realizing that they control their own limbs...
    She could almost feel the man, her mind wrapping around it's almost sixth-like sense so that she could feel his muscles... his heart beat... his emotions... his blood. His eyes suddenly became not only aware of those intrapped within the tubes, but the one figure who was awake.
    Z.
    Like a child just realizing that they could open their eyes...
    Z's gaze remained upon the human figure, yet she could see everything it seemed. The tubes... the liquid green ooze which surrounded them and surrounded herself. It was heavy, yet it was light... her figure floating yet the liquid didn't seemed to affect her. She already didn't let it bother her.
    Like a child just realizing that some thing was wrong...
    Z knew in an instant, that some thing wasn't right. The figure was moving away... his unnerved gaze had obviously met Z's.
    What have you done? Z's booming voice had penetrated the weak human mind, and instantly fear seemed to emit from his body. This was most curious to Z... for she could feel it- like a wave that rushed against her yet she held her ground. Fear? It was slight... and the man had spoken of anger- he felt anger from them, but of course... in her contact, he sensed she was neutral. Different. Why....

    The memories, they still lingered and they still burned.

    Z heard others awakening, perhaps from the fear... but Z sensed their minds stirring. The man was beginning to fade away... and Z wasn't staying in the liquid. She could feel the world outside with her mind... she wanted to breath and taste it now.
    Closing her eyes briefly, she felt a longing to get out...
    Out. Break...
    Suddenly the glass simply splintered and erupted into shards. Z wasn't fumbling with her steps... but broke free with a simple gait and landed upon the ground. She shook her fur gently, and without hesitation she walked out into the darkness of the lab.

    Fear... she could sense it.

    It wasn't long before other breaks could be heard, and Z turned her violet-hued eyes to see the others had broken out and now seemed to be bewildered and questioning. Z sensed their emotions gently... but she didn't seem interested into protrude. She didn't half to... it emitted from bodies like heat. A cat-like creature had asked where they were, and to that Z came forward.

    Perhaps it frightened them some what... Z wasn't exactly ugly or menacing, but she emitted a presense that seemed... deadly,d ark... or generally ill forward. Her cold eyes of violet were judging... to them perhaps, as she seemed to walk with grace that the rest hadn't gathered yet.
    Different... I already am.. Z thought, but she wasn't bothered. At least... she didn't show much emotion with in at all. A dark blank wall... a void.

    " A lab."
    She spoke, her voice matching in tone to her appearance. Thick and exotic... yet with a taint of something sinister. How did she know where they were? She wasn't sure... but she felt as she had a source of knowledge with in her. Still, turning her head away from them...she sensed panic.
    Fear... panic...

    The mind was blurred, disoriented. It was like being cast adrift at sea. Sometimes a hint of vision would return and something could be seen. Hazed in hues of green and brown but beyond, tubes of varying size, equipment, people in white coats. It was all very much like a dream and seemed so distant and unreal. Yet, it was all the mind knew. All the mind ever knew so far as it felt and yet that seemed wrong somehow. Like there should be something more.

    A flash of light and suddenly the mind became aware. He was not just next to many tubes but was in one. One of a row of many. And as he struggled to grip the reality around him he could hear the cracking of glass. The tubes would no longer confine beings kept of such rage.

    Rage! Suddenly it gripped him like a blanket wrapped around a cold child. Where was he? How did he come ot be in such a confined and unpleasant state? A lab rat, caged at the mercy of so called scientists to study and prod over as if he were no more than a piece of stone. And more than anything else, what was he?

    He looked down at his body through the brownish and greenish haze of the liquid surrounding him. First he saw one pair of hands raised up in front of him. Then, a second pair presented themselves below that. A swish and suddenly a tail presented itself in his peripheral vision. Nothing had such dimensions. He was a freak. A construct of someone's imagination. But who could ever make such a being? Who could be so cruel as to introduce a creature so alien and unacceptable to the world.

    Rage grabbed hold of him and filled him to the brim. His jaw opened and a gurgling came out that shook the very glass. It must have been the mightiest roar anything his size could manage as the glass started to crack from the vibration of it. All at once he could no longer hold back the building sensations within and he slammed all four fists into the side of the tube. The glass burst outward, flooding the floor around like a dam had just been let loose.

    As he drew breath for the first time he examined everything around himself. His chest pounded with fury and anxiety. He spotted several other creatures, other abominations to the world. What was he? What were any of them?

    Then he saw a white coat, pounding at a large metal door that seemed to have sealed the large room they were all in. The white coats......had they done this to him? To all of them? Were they responsible? And suddenly, there was an outlet ofr all of the rage that boiled inside.

    He leapt across the room like a lion that had cornered it's prey. All four fists came down onto the back of the white coat and it slumped to the ground under the blow. His tail snaked around and grabbed the leg of the white coat. With a mighty swish the white coat was hurled clear across the room by his tail.

    He then paused to look at the metal door. It was too large and too heavy for anything to budge it but he had to get out. He had to escape and there was no other exit to the room. Just as he had thought that he sank into the floor, into the shadow of one of the other creatures that had walked up behind him.

    He couldn't comprehend how he did it, at least not yet, but somehow he had appeared behind a person in black clothes just on the other side of the door he had been staring at. He was standing on the persons shadow which was cast by the flashing red lights above the door.

    "What is that?" a voice from behind him blurted and he could hear a clicking sound.

    On instinct, his tail snaked back and wrapped itself around a persons ankle. He yanked and the person was pulled off his feet. A loud and rapid bursting sound emitted from the person. The black clothes in front of him turned at the sound of bursting and pointed something at him. Clips of fire seemed to burst from the tip of it and suddenly there was a burning pain in his shoulder.

    His anger took him and his hands reached out to grab the weapon form the black clothes. It was flung behind him down the hall. He grabbed the black clothes with his right hands and slammed the person into the wall. Following through the motion his left hands pounded into the black clothes' side.

    He turned and threw the black clothes down the hall but that didn't seem enough for the pain he felt. As before he suddenly sank into the floor. Once again he appeared from the black clothes shadow but this time he was ready. The black clothes was in midair halfway down the hall. He sprung up from the ground and all four fists rammed into the black clothes' gut, slamming the person into the ceiling.

    Just as his fists were raised, prepared to deliver more punishment, he heard banging down the hall. It was the metal door he had somehow appeared on the other side of. Of course, he had gotten past it but the other creatures were still trapped behind it. He couldn't leave them behind to such evil beings as the white coats and the black clothes with the bursting weapons.

    He ran back to the door, using his lower pair of arms to almost double his speed. It seemed he was equally gifted running on four limbs as two. He stopped and started to examine the door carefully. Somehow he had to find a way to open it. He couldn't leave anything else at the mercy of whatever butchers had created him.

    Name: Gareth 'Gureth' (pronounced grr-eth) Jacobs
    Gender: Male

    Human Looks: clicky
    X Pokes Looks: this he stands 7 feet tall and has a greater build than is shown. All of the gold parts are tinted with red and he has a thick gold chain around his neck. Electricty pulsates around his body whenever he gets angry or upset.

    Type: Electric/Flying

    Attacks:
    Thundershock ~ basic electric attack
    Volt beam ~ fries a single beam of electricity, stuns mainly
    Shockwave ~ creates a small explosion of electricity that spans outwards. Highly draining attack, he can only use it once without collpasing.

    Personality: he's a nice guy who looks out for the well-being of others. Can be strongly competitive however and has a strong sense of exactly what he wants. Occassionaly brash, he does have a tendancy to leap into things without giving them much thought. He's very loyal to his friends and would never turn his back on them unless there was no other option. He knows who and what he likes and has a tendacy of acting accordingly - which some people disapprove of sometimes.

    Relationship: none
    History: He was raised in an orphanage and never knew anything about his parents except for the gold chain he kept on him. The orphanage in which he was raised wasn't one of the nicest places on earth, everyone was treated badly and you had to teach yourself what you needed to learn. For this reason Gureth can neither read nor write. He hated the place with a vengence and was often picked on by the other kids because he was the only one with no idea of what happened to his parents. Eventually, he couldn't take any more. He fought back against his opressors and escaped to the outside world.
    Memory: His main memory is of a bright room and a woman singing. He doesn't know where it is or who is singing though.
    Other: none

    ~~~~~
    Trapped in the void between the brightness of the memory and the darkness of unconciousness, I was neither awake nor asleep. This place made everything seem so fake, so pre-constructed to keep me in this place, to keep me from ever waking up. Why? The memory replays again. The bright light wins briefly over the darkness of sleep and still I see nothing. I only hear the voice. I don't know who's voice it is, just a woman in my memory, a woman who's song brings a strange calming relief to my soul. Which is real? Torn between the darkness and the light I have lost all sense of reality. Perhaps reality no longer exists...
    Then, a new sound reached my ears. The sound of shattering glass and from it, the sudden feeling of change. I force myself awake, eager to discuss the truth. I leave behind the darkness and abandon the song for what may only be a brief glimpse at the real world. I just need to know it exists. Trapped in the twilight for so long, I had lost all track of time before this moment. Before the moment of reawakening.
    Opening my eye, I found myself surrounded by an unfamiliar brown substance. It was strangely thick, acting as a resitor against my movements, and it stung as well. I could feel it burning my eyes until slowly I adjusted to it and the pain ceased. The water - I found - was kept around me by a glass outter casing, a tube, this brought forth new questions that I needed to ask. Why am I here? How long have I been here for?
    I quickly realised that there were...creatures on the other side of the glass. Strange beings that appeared to me to be confused and angry. I began to feel that I was not much different.
    I put a hand to the glass only to find that it was no longer a hand but a claw. A bright silver claw that was very sharp and very deadly. Convinced I might be still dreaming I glanced to my other hand, however it was the same as the first. I felt a movement behind me and was quickly introduced to my new limb, a rather long, silver, gold and red tail. What am I?
    I began my struggle against the liquid-filled tube and felt something touch against my chest. Lifting it with a claw, I identified it as a thick golden chain. This stirred my anger. They collar me, to treat me as if I am some animal... I went to pull it off but as my claw grasped around it I felt a calming snesation that I had only ever felt from my memory. Perhaps I had been wrong, this was something very special, something that I had to keep safe and guard. Perhaps it would help me find yet more memories to dream of...
    Now all that was left was the problem of the tube. I needed to get out and fast. This was when I discovered an unfamiliar feeling of inner power. Whoever had made me into this thing had also granted me strength, strength that I already had a strong control over.
    Puting a claw to the glass I foucused on the attack that I wanted to use. Thundershock... I sent forth the electrical beam that instantly shattered the glass upon impact. I dropped to the ground nimbly, the sudden cold rush of air causing me to gasp for my breath.
    Strange it was, to be on the outside. To be so close to the other creatures who had once been like me, who had once been human. There were many tubes in tis room, some of which still contained sleeping entities. I sought out the device that kept them closed and shortcircuited it. The tubes burst open, the drawn water errupting outwards and the occupants began to awaken.
    Suddenly, all our attention was drawn to the metal door. There was something on the otherside trying to get in. I could smell that it was one of our kind but I knew that the others could sense the others scents that I smelt. The smell of humans.
    I made the decision to let our friend in. I did not want to leave him out there with the humans. I gave the machine securing the door a little shock and it opened the doors, allowing our comerad to enter before closing firmly behind him.
    I snorted slightly, wishing to rid my nostrils of the scent of humans before turning to the one who had just entered, "what did you see?"
    He looked the metal door over furiously. He tried to slide it open but it was far too heavy to be budged by muscle. There was a strange panel next to it with a tiny red and green light but it didn't make much sense to him. He hit it and it cracked under the pressure but nothing seemed to happen. If it had been meant as a device to open the door it wouldn't be functioning anytime soon now.
    Just as he was prepared to give up and shade back into the room the broken panel sprinkled sparks into the hallway and the door slid open. He eagerly stepped in to encourage all the creatures to follow him out but the door closed swiftly behind him. He turned to try and stop it but he was too late. Once again they were all trapped inside the large room with their shattered tubes. Unless, of course, these other creatures had his ability to travel through shadows. Somehow he doubted that.
    "What did you see?" one of the creatures asked him but it was not in the language of the white coats and the black clothes.
    It was not any language that he thought he knew really. He was sure he didn't know it yet the words came clear in his mind. He didn't know how to put words into that language though so all he could do was sit there and think of what he might say.
    'People in black clothes, similar to the white coats but different. They were carrying sticks that burst fire and burn the flesh,' he thought as he looked down at his shoulder, still burning from within and trickling a steady stream of blood into his short but thick fur.
    "How did......how did you do that?" another one of the creatures spoke curiously.
    He looked at them just as curiously. What are they talking about?', he wondered. At that thought they took a step towards him and shook their head a pinch.
    "That. You didn't speak but we all heard your voice. Like you were talking inside our heads," they said, still curious.
    'You can hear me?' he thought, this time focusing on the words as if he meant to speak them.
    He was met with nods of agreement from all of the creatures. He couldn't put into their words what he thought so somehow his thoughts were broadcast to them. At least, when he was thinking of a response or wished to speak. He had to wonder what else he was capable of.
    'Then listen well. We have to get out of here quickly. More people of the black clothes will come with their weapons and they will try to destroy us. I believe there are many more of them than there are of us. We have to get out of this room. Can anyone else pass through shadows?' he looked at their varied and animalistic faces waiting to see what they thought should be done.
    I felt panic and fear. Fear that my life would be over, not as a human but as a freak of nature. A surge of energy went through my body, and soon I was pacing the floor impatiently. "What are we going to do? We don't know what we can do yet! Those guys will kill us before we discover our powers!" I closed my eyes. "I don't want to die. I don't want to die!" I anticipated tears but they didn't come. Tears were a human thing and I was no longer human.
    "Where did you go?" one of the creatures asked me.
    "Go? I didn't go anywhere!" I opened my eyes. "I'm right...here?" I couldn't see my paws, or any part of me for that matter! I was invisible!
    Switching to first-person. Because I can, wheh! :-P
    >+-Daryon-+<
    I was still lying on the floor, only now I had curled up. I couldn't stand it! The sound of gunfire, the sight of these big paws and tail that were mine now... What the hell was going on here?!
    "Those guys will kill us before we discover our powers!" I caught a snippet of conversation. It seemed a cat-like creature was the one who said it.
    Powers... I pondered. I closed my eyes. Yes, there was definitely something there. I reached into it, opening my eyes. I could no longer see my snout in front of my face.
    "Did one of you say something about fading into shadows?" I asked tentatively. I saw the other creatures looking around for the one who had spoking. Releasing the power, I reappeared. As I did, I felt several hairs on my back stiffen, and before I could figure out what was happening they shot off, hitting the ceiling and sticking there. They looked like little hair-like icicles. "Oops..." I must have released something else too. This would take some practice...
    It looked up at the panicy voice it heard, everyone of these creatures around it seemed to think the same thing. But what did it think of the whole situation around itself? It simply wanted a life, to be free, to find out what exactly was its purpose to the surrounding creatures.
    Thump... Thump... Thump...
    The familar sound of its heart beating was fading away, as the panicy self disappeared and new personality was emerging. It seemed to tower over the cowaring inner self and stood strong amongst the other emotions.
    'Out...' It thought, as the darkness it had consumed itself in soon emerged once more. It gave life to the bat like wings upon its back, flapping them violently, the creature lifted slightly off the ground.
    "Shadows..." It said, a surprising soft caring voice ensued from the mouth barring its fangs. "Have nothing to do with it..."
    The vomit like feeling returned, in a flash, black flames spurted from its jaws, like liquid, it splashed onto the large doors that locked them from the world beyond. Freedom, and answers were out there. And how dare they hold it back from what it wanted.
    The flame licked the small portion of the door, Blarely making a dent, but slowly, the unknown metals oozed slowly onto the floor, stopping for a moment. The Creature turned to face the others.
    "We must get out of here." Its gentle voice surrounded in harshness towards itself. "Whatever way is fine. But hurry up about it."
    I'm changing Z's power slightly... I thought that I had made it so she could go through things, but it appears I didn't. I hope no one minds... I'm making it so she can cause herself to become semi-transparent and go through things, but she'sunable to attack and if she's attacked while transparent, she'll become solid again.
    Z
    Z reguarded the shadowy one with a look of oddity, sensing rage pouring from him like waves. She could almost taste the emotion sprouting from everyone... odd tastes of bitter and sweet. She closed her eyes lightly, wondering perhaps what other powers she might possess that she did not know of.
    Do I possess anything?
    She thought, and instantly it was as if an answer came forth. Her body seemed to lose a part of itself... fade away, as if she were a ghost or she wasn't all there. She reopened her eyes, to see that amongst some of the chaos... a few had noticed she changed.
    "You... you look like a ghost." One commented, and she didn't respond. Instead however, she decided to 'test' this theory. While the overall feeling of this state she was in was rather unpleasant... as if she had lost a part of herself, she willed it to continue.
    Approaching the door, she tentatively took her paw and pressed into the door. A strange, tickling sensation rippled through her body and she realized that she could go through the doors.
    I will go.
    Was all she said, her thick voice echoing gently as she slipped past the door. Immediately bright light seemed to pour into her violet eyes, and she walked through. Everything smelled different... open air with a hint of a bitter, stank scent upon the air. She lowered her head to the ground, not waiting to see if anyone else had joined her. She sniffed at the ground, and she could smell the same scent as the man... yet different- different creatures. They were approaching fast, but it seemed that they didn't see her slightly transparent figure for the moment. She turned about to face the door... staring at it gently.
    Weakness? A question rose in her mind, and as she thought it... suddenly she felt a little tweaking. As if... the door responded to her thought. Tilting her head to the side, she reguarded the door some more.
    Her mind was open once more... and she analyzed it, as if wondering what had just occured. A shadowy figure once against emerged, and Z recognized it to be the shadowy figure who had originally asked who could go through the door.
    They're coming.. He said roughly, in her mind... which wasn't an odd sensation, since she heard her own voice well enough with in her. Z didn't respond to him, she perhaps gave a slight nod... but she concentrated upon the door. She had asked a question before... maybe if she didn't ask...
    Weakness.
    The door seemed to move slightly- or certain points of the door moved. The shadowy figure seemed to have heard her slightly, but perhaps not as loud as ... the door had.
    More persistant.
    WEAKNESS!
    Suddenly little strange colored boards from the door seemed to tweak and give off an odd sound, while certain points towards the very inside and outside of the door suddenly seemed to combust.
    "Attack the boards and the exploded areas." Was all she stated,and then for those upon the other side of the door...
    Attack the boards and the exploded areas.
    Better late than never, they always say.... ^_^;
    Name: Miles Valiant
    Gender: Male
    Human Looks: Typical build and height. Wears a "You can't see me!" Camo T-shirt, slightly baggy black jeans, and a pair of white tennis shoes. His poofy hair is a medium brown and parted slightly off center. He wears a sterling silver necklace on which his sister's Topaz hangs from. He also wears a hemp bracelet from which 2 Dove tailfeathers dangle.
    X-Pokes Looks: A small furry creature that looks like something from a little girl's daydreams. Resembles a Joey (baby Kangaroo) but is only about 2.5' - 3' tall. His ears are much longer than a Kanga though, about a foot in length. There is a large tuft of hair on his head and short tail. There is a much larger Mystic Fire Topaz in the middle of his forehead. Miles' belly and the tips of his hands, feet, ears, and tail are yellow. As you move more inward on his body, the fur color changes to green, then to royal blue on his back. Miles' eyes are now very dark red. Some of you may recognize this as a creature similar to Carbuncle (FF8/9)! ^_^
    Type: Light/Various (explained in attacks)
    Attacks:
    Wall: Creates a reflective barrier around allies through which physical attacks are weakened and magic is repeled back at the caster. Although useful, it only lasts for a limited amount of time.
    Gem Flash: Miles uses the Topaz on his brow to create simple, elemental-based Magic attacks. Mystic Fire is a Topaz exposed to Titanium, allowing for the stone to display a rainbow of colors. The current shade of the stone shows the type of attack being executed. It's open to anything from Fire and Water to Gravity and Time.
    Light Cannon: Pure energy of Light and Holy nature is concentrated into each paw and the Topaz then cast forward in a single pulse of energy towards the enemy.
    Personality: Rather protective and loyal to those he is close to, even simple acquiantances! Ever since his sister's accident, he is sure to spend as much time as he can with those he appreciates. It does take a bit of effort to gain his trust, but he's a very flexible and caring individual with an aura you either love or hate. Miles has a very spontaneous personality, doing random things at random (and sometimes inappropriate) times. Always keeps an uplifting and optimistic attitude, but has is breif anger moments like everyone else. As said before, he IS appreciative of others and respects their space and privacy when they demand it.
    Relationship: VERY OPEN!!!
    History: Not anything special or extravagant in his past, Miles is a normal High School student. One day, his older sister, Tamera, was hospitalized due to car accident. She gave Miles her Mystic Fire pendant as a memory of his beloved sibling. In the days following she fell into a comatose state. Although still alive, doctors have suspected that she may recover, but will suffer from amnesia due to the brain damage from the concussion. As a way to hasten Tamera recover, Miles fell into the Science realm and ended up in the X-Poke experiment.
    Memory: Receiving his Topaz as a keepsake from his sister.
    Other: Hmmm..... Hmmmmm..... Blah? *Other's head pops off*
    ~|:Miles Valiant = Shattered Awakenings:|~
    It was as though I was there, next to her body again. I could almost smell the sterilizing alcohol that drifted in the air of every hospital. I sat in a small chair next to her, my sister. Her muscles fidgeted as she willed herself to stay conscious. "Miles... You know I love you." I was confused by her words, but nodded nonetheless. "I want you to have this." She handed me a large gemstone, nearly the size of a bottle cap.
    "But this... You're giving me your Fire!?" I was flabberghaster, to say the least. This had been her own, private treasure that she kept close to her; a pendant that seemed to symbolize her vibrant personality and warm aura. I felt its warmth, her warmth, spread in my hand as I stared deeply into its translucent colors. "I-I-I.....I can't keep this!" Tears began to well up in my eyes, the sterile atmosphere causing the tears to sting instead of release my emotional tension.
    "It is not my time to die, Miles... I know that," the bed-ridden girl whispered, "but my time in this realm of reality is." I wept through the pain as I held her weakening hand. "Take......care.....bro--"
    Her hand, as well as the rest of her body, fell limp and nearly lifeless. Any strength left within her dissipated away and her body turned cool and clamy. All that could be heard in the small ICU room was the slow beeping of her heartbeat on the machine and the subdued shudders and gasps of a former me...
    ~.<:>.~.<:>.~.<:>.~
    My eyes shot open as a foreign brown liquid rushed into my eyes. It stung, similar to that of which I experienced in that faint flash of a memory. "What was that? I questioned the vision I had just witnessed. "What does it mean!?
    I quivered in the remembrance and, in a burst of frustrated emotion, stretched out tall in the tube-like container I was trapped in. I reached out and tapped the substance with my..... "WHAT THE HELL!?!?!?!" I no longer had hands... Heck, you could barely consider them paws, they were so small! And furry at that. As well as my arms, shoulders, and... very long feet? "I'm a monster! A hideous mutation of science-to-be!" I felt my face. Long ears and hair with a large gem embedded into the center of my forehead, that of which the cut felt familiar. In a fury of madness at who or whatever had imprisoned me, I slammed and battered and pounded on the glass that surrounded me. But to no avail, I lacked the strength to break the thick layer that kept me from the outside world.
    I moved close to the glass' edge. With less of the obscuring liquid in my path of vision, I could see outside. There were several bizarre creatures mingling about in the small, stark-white room. I assumed that they had undergone the same metamorphosis as I, but had been granted more physical power. Noticing a large, cat monster looking around, I attempted to draw its attention by banging on the glass more and flailing about.
    Thankfully, I was quickly noticed by the creature and it began to assist me in my escape from my aqueous entrapment.
    The glass shattered and I poured out of the opening with the soupy liquid I had been suspended in. "Do you know where we are?" the creature, which I presumed to be female by the pitch of the voice, questioned me. She seemed to have a problem staying upright. It was rather natural for me, maybe even easier, to keep balance due to my kangaroo-like feet.
    I looked around to try to answer the cheetah's question, but found myself stupified by that fact that I was shorter than most of the equipment in the room. "I don't know... But I think we may be able to get out over there!" I pointed to several of the others which were standing near a large steel door from which another beast had entered. I and the girl approached the larger group as they began discussing our method of escape.
    "We must get out of here." a harmoniously irritated voice rang out from a wolf-like creature, another female I assumed, "Whatever way is fine. But hurry up about it."
    Speaking up, even though I was new to the conversation, I obliviously remarked, "Why can't we just go back out the door that he came in?" I pointed to the large ape-ish monster with 4 arms. "With some of the abilities we all must have, I'm sure our escape would be an easy feat!"
    One of the others, whom I hadn't made much reference or contact with yet, questioned, "And what about those that haven't discovered their powers yet? You don't seem to be much of the fighter type yourself..."
    I made as much of a nervous laugh as a creature of my nature could make. "Umm... I haven't thought of that yet...."
    Kalah posted hers while I was doing mine.... Just consider both Z and Keegan on the other side already at this point... ^_^;
    *late with apologies*
    Name: Just like Billy. (^^'') That's the full moniker, but you can call him Billy... eheh... he gets shirty if you don't accept it as his full name, though.
    Gender: Male
    Human Looks: About 6" tall, thin and lanky. Olive-skinned, Roman-nosed and had green-brown eyes, with straight, shaggy black hair that flopped onto his forehead. Had a look that indicated he hadn't smiled more than ten times in his lifetime. He liked black as a colour, and the only good overcoat he ever owned was black. Usually wore the overcoat, slacks, a t-shirt or shirt, and boots. Mostly in varying shades of black, although he was known to wear red or maybe grey.
    X Pokes Looks: He is a 15-foot long serpentine-like creature, although he is more slender or thin than bulky. From far he looks like an iridiscent azure blue ribbon. He usually coils himself up, and moves by floating. Looks like a Chinese dragon (lots of pics here! or specifically, look at the attachment), although his muzzle is thinner and free of mane, and decidedly reptilian but angular and vaguely machine-like. There are paper amulets hanging from his ears (like pieces of paper with a potective scripture written on them). His fore and hindlegs are equipped with long claws, and his tail ends in a flat round shape, with razor blades encircling it. There are abstract machine-like markings on his head and along the length of his body. His eyes are golden-green.
    Type: Water/Dragon
    Attacks:
    1) SlashAll - Billy wields his tail like a whiplash, using the razor blades on it to damage opponents repeatedly.
    2) Deluge - (works best if it is actually about to rain, or raining) The battle area is flooded completely. Instant killer for fire-types, but it also means electricity can travel more easily. If the opponent times it right he'd be able to fry Billy if he's not careful.
    3) Polemics - Raw power, of the dragon kind. The lower his health, or the more he's abused, the higher the power of this move. He goes really berserker when he's almost down.
    Personality: Thoughtful and pragmatic. Usually does not speak unless spoken to. He's quiet, and when he wants to his silences can suck you in like gaping black holes. He tells things without wasting his breath, although he's always polite. He does things the way he wants them done, and doesn't take any nonsense from anybody. Push him too much and he may be forced to use sarcasm.
    Relationship: Ehhh... open? Possibly knows some others, glimpsed briefly through the walls of his tank.
    History: Went through life like a bullet - forcibly, and not always the way he wanted it to be. He used to be known as Ken Lloyd, but obviously he doesn't remember. The rest of the things he doesn't remember include: he's partly Asian, at the tender age of seven he used to emphasize that when he grew up he was going to be just like Billy, he lived in a one-person apartment, not high-end, wrote to his family every so often, listened to music from indie bands no one else knew the names of, was probably pseudo-goth in habits - he majored in literature, and made a living off contributing stuff to magazines. He frequented pubs that the scientists did, unfortunately for him.
    Memory: When he was a child, he wanted to be just like Billy. Who Billy is (or was) has long been forgotten, along with the rest of his memories. He only remembers the purpose.
    Other: I guess he'd be in his mid-twenties...
    ---------------------
    Just Like Billy
    ----------------------------
    Where there should have been something, there was presently nothing. There was only a purpose; barely a memory, this child's declaration of direction. Now, with the cynical mind of an adult, he examined this with quiet detachment. It obsessed him. There was little else to do, after all, in those days of lime green semi-consciousness and half-imagined faces looking in through the greenness. He was never quite sure if it was himself dreaming of such situations, or others dreaming of him in such a situation.
    "I'm going to be just like Billy when I grow up."
    (that was all there was)
    But he was already grown-up, and he did not know who Billy was, and whoever the mentioned Billy was, he was in all likelihood not like him. He knew this for a certainty, although how he could not have explained in words.
    For a long while, he continued thus. He accepted his form, long and sinuous and azure; at the very least he was alive. From his ears dangled oriental paper charms, something altogether alien to his knowledge; yet familiar in glimpses of a former life as pieces of paper that someone had set great store by. Anything could be remedied by those papers - water mixed with their ashes was an instant cure-all, chicken blood smeared down their length with the proper incantation could exorcise demons. Old stories.
    (stories have power)
    Then came the glass-splinterings, cutting through his lethargy like a hot knife slick through butter. His tail twitched to the discordant rhythm of the breaking glass. And then, as if a thing capable of thinking clearly when its owner couldn't, it moved, disregarding the restraining fluid the best it could, and scoured a fine pattern of slashes that glimmered, briefly, across the glass tube. The tube broke up, softly, and the fluid surged out the cracks, leaving him damp and clinging and blinking stupidly in the flourescent light.
    Many creatures of varied description had likewise broken fom their glass enclosures. They were the noises he'd heard. Some resembled monsters from the darkest nightmares; others were of a milder disposition, and merely reminded him of stuffed toys. A cat, a kangaroo, something from the ape family, many wolves, a thunder lizard, a cloud. He...? He was a dragon. Most could mind-speak, he noticed. He himself could not.
    They were breaking down the door, that much he gathered. And the humans were dangerous. One wolf, the black one with the horse's hooves, and the ape-like creature had already faded? shimmered? passed? through the large metal door, coming in. The decree came, silently authoritative.
    Attack the boards and the exposed areas.
    His brain throbbed. He couldn't think very well, outside the fluid. The other creatures deliberated slightly, like the kangaroo, who didn't seem much the offensive type. They didn't know their own power, yet. He obeyed as soon he could.
    He lunged forward, uncoiling his long, long tail riddled with serrated blades, and slashed violently at the hotspots on the door as he had at the glass. Gashes appeared, but they seemed only a few centimetres deep. He'd need help...
    Attack the boards and the exposed areas.
    "Attack the what?" I asked. I looked closely at the steel (or whatever metal it was made of) door. Some spots were exposed, open to attack. Other parts of the door were strangely colored. "Those must be weak points. Let's get 'em!"
    I rushed to the door and looked down at my paw. Long claws extended from it. I started to claw at the boards. Nothing but little scratches. My claws wouldn't be able to take care of the job.
    "Now what?" the kangaroo asked me.
    I didn't want to answer. I just wanted to get out of here. I wanted to be alive and free! I furiously clawed at the door, desparate for any effect. I could feel my blood boiling. Soon I heard a crackling sound. I looked up at my paws with wide eyes. They were sparking! Sparks of electricity were dancing across them.
    "It's now or never," I muttered. I pushed against the door, knowing that that wouldn't make a difference. But I was trying for something else. The sparks traveled from my paws to some of the exposed circuits in the door. The wires exploded.
    I listened as the others formulated a plan of escape. "Why can't we just go back out the door that he came in?" said a small, kangaroo-type creature. He gestured at the large, 4-armed creature that had just burst in. "With some of the abilities we all must have, I'm sure our escape would be an easy feat!"
    I looked at him, more than a little skeptical. "And what about those that haven't discovered their powers yet? You don't seem to be much of the fighter type yourself..." He laughed nervously. "Umm... I haven't thought of that yet...." Another creature, one which resembled a large cheetah/lion mix, begin slashing at the door. After a moment, her claws began to spark, electricty bouncing off of them. Suddenly, she sent out a surge of electricity, causing some exposed circuits to explode. I watched on, racking my brain for a way to do my part.
    Argh, this sense of helplessness! It was more than I could bear! I wanted to be out of this room, somewhere free and open, like the blue skies I could remember.
    Suddenly, a booming sound was heard throughout the room, and I looked up to see... Storm clouds? What were storm clouds doing in here? Then it hit me. I must have created them! Was this my power?
    The cheetah looked up, and seeing the storm clouds, braced herself against the door again. A bolt of lightning hit her, and that very moment she sent out another surge of electricity, much stronger than before. The door was literally blown off it's hinges by the power of her blast.
    Oh what fun... hee.
    Z
    Z listened keenly, hearing the others had begun attacking the door. She waited patiently, for she had already exploded the pads upon the door and it's weakpoints upon the outside. It was up to them to do it upon the inside... and with out warning, suddenly her eyes flickered upwards to see a storm had gathered. She felt a surge of emotion from inside... surprise and a faint hint of delight. Some one's new power must have been the storm... and Z waited. She realized that perhaps soon the door would be opening in some way or another.
    The shadowy ape-like creature seemed to dart ahead for a few moments- most likely surveying when the humans would once against approach. They were near... Z sensed them, their emotions reeking of fear and a bit of anger. Thenit happened... a large sound emitted as the metallic door suddenly flew straight at Z.
    While Z had her mind 'opened' and her powers were slowly becoming realized, she had not yet detected how to control them nor what their extent was. The metallic door flew straight at her, and she doubted that those upon the inside knew that they had attacked the door in a manner that caused her to be in danger. She braced herself but she didn't have time... it all happened with in flashes of a fleeting moment.
    SCRITSSSH!
    Right when the door was supposed to meet head on at Z, most likely cracking her skull and crushing herself- a crackling of violet and brilliant silver energy appeared. It formed right in front of Z, like it's own source of brilliant lightning except it struck back at the door. The door instantly was seized and sent hurling backwards at an even faster rate than it had come at her. Soaring upwards, it seemed to have crumpled (reducing it's size) and it flew over the creatures upon the inside, crashing loudly behind them. The large doors had landed upon a group of blocked instruments, causing an explosion to occur as the silver and violet energy crackled about the doors for a moment before dying off.
    Z blinked, not really realizing what the hell had just happened... but she accepted it. The violet and silver energy... she recognized it as her own. Perhaps with in her... there was a power that protected her even when she did not command it? An instinct or reflex beyond the physical prowress?
    The others stood just as dumbfounded that Z wasn't crushed... and the one who most likely caused the door to violently explode outwards seemed to cringe, but then reassure themselves when they realized that Z had not been killed. Some were stunned... others were grasping that they were free.
    The black coats are coming... we must fight.
    The shadowy ape figure said, turning it's head and glancing at them with a rather rough look. He seemed to be a leader type, reguardless if he meant to or not. While the others had emotion of fear... anxiety and confusion, his emotions were filled with anger and eagerness.
    Z remained silent, as she looked at the others and then gave them a nod. For what? She wasn't sure... perhaps it was just a nod to encourage them to come, or a nod to say hi, or a nod to say 'don't pittle upon the floor in fear now..'. Whatever the case, she nodded and then took a few steps so that she could see a few darkened figures approaching. Lowering herself to the ground, she withdrew a breath.
    This would be interesting..
    Ski-Aki Chan
    The doors flew open at the surge of electricity over through every wire, fuse, and circuit in the walls. It was shock that ove came the slightly shy creature, not fear. Fear was what it had felt when the human had left, but now, it was pure shock of everything that was happening around it.
    Unlike the others, it choose to fly, hovering over the smaller, kangaroo type of one, it was quite a creature.
    I hate You. Ski-Aki Chan! Hate you!
    'Ski-Aki Chan..?' It thought, as the memory flashed in front of the creatures own two eyes as if everyone else could see it.
    But they couldn't, it felt alone, scared, frightened of whatever was to come next. But as it faded reality set back in.
    "Get them!" The humans in black called, firing off weapons that sent stray shoots everywhere, it watched as everyone took off in seperate direction. Except for one.
    The smallest creature in its line of sight, the small long eared, furry baby kangaroo creature. It stood there, frozen in pure fear as a human ran towards it. The evil coming from that human, only wanting to hurt the creature that couldn't fight back at this moment.
    Thump. Thump. Thump
    As its own heart pounded faster and faster, a new feeling came to it, as it floated there wings not beating anymore, a ball formed infront of of its mouth. Larger and larger, until it rivalled the size of yoga ball. It could feel the heat pouring off of it, and at the last second. Slammed it's mouth shut. Sending the flaming black, blue, and red ball at the human.
    The human stopped, dead infront of the small creature. Small amount of blood came from its mouth, collasping onto the ground. The blast had melted away his beck, leaving only a charred boiling mass of blood and flesh. The Creeature looked up at the newly named "Ski-Aki." Ski only nodded at it, before turning away.
    ~|:Miles Valiant = Protection from a Memory:|~
    "Get them!" A strange figure called. A small group of human ran out from the shadows of the hallway we had now entered. The began to charge at us, strange devices creating fire flashes that were directed towards us.
    "Get who!? I hope not us! I began to hope, standing baffled in the now chaotic corridor. "Please don't attack me! Please don't attack me! I closed my eyes, praying for their obliviousness to my presence... Although it wouldn't be very beneficial, seeing as how there was nowhere to hide in this simple hallway...
    As I opened my eyes to see how I was fairing, if that's what you could call idly standing in the middle of a miniature battle field. I quickly felt my heart race as one of the several human rushed towards me. I made a slight squeak as I cowered and closed my eyes once again. A torrential rain of heat burst in front of me.
    I slowly peered my eyes open to see that I had been unharmed with a melting corpse rotting away in front of me. I recoiled in disgust as I felt my stomache churn. To relieve my mind, I looked around to see who my savior had been. The wolf creature from inside the room was hovering above me like a guardian angel.
    In a quick glance beyond her position, I saw one of the black-clothed humans sneaking up on the flying wolf from behind. He took quick and careful aim at my airborne ally. Words would do no good against a shot from their machines.
    I had to do something to save her.... and FAST! But what could I do! I was defenseless little furball! "What can I do to protect a powerful beast like her!?" I felt my heart race faster as I began to panic. It was against my nature the let anything go helplessly unprotected without all my effort. "Gotta protect her.... Gotta protect... Protect, protect, protect!" I screamed at myself through my fear. "Hnnnn... HA!"
    In a flash of light, I felt my forehead radiate with warmth and power. In the gleam of the rays from the jewel on my brow, the flying creature was surrounded in an rainbow aura that quickly faded. The man fired his weapon at the girl. "Look out!" I shouted, knowing it had been too late. She twisted herself around as the metal pellet from the item approached her chest... then deflected towards the ground. She made a slight wince from the pain the still seemed to transfer through the barrier, but there was no wound from the attack. I had saved her as she had done me.
    "It's not my time to die, Miles..." The voice of my memory echoed in my head. From that, I grasped the name. It was mine and mine alone.
    In relief of the situation, I did a small, gleeful dance, but I also noticed that all of my other allies, was well as myself, had been ungulfed in the rays and aura as well. "I guess I do have some way to help you guys!" I called out, feeling the relief of the others as well, knowing they had SOME defense against the humans' blasting weapons.
    As the creatures filed out into the sunshine with the hooved wolf and himself, he shaded ahead to find a path away from the places the white coats and black clothes had kept them in. There were many mounds of stone that resembled the one they had emerged from but they were all slightly different. They would have to escape all such constructs to make sure they were safe from their tormentors.
    As he shifted from shadow to shadow he grew more accustomed to his strange and seemingly unique ability. Something about it was strangely thrilling even if it made him feel even more of a freak that nothing else could do what he did. He might have kept shifting ahead without pause had he not shifted in front of a large group of black clothes that were headed his way, towards all the creatures. He had to warn them.
    He had shifted seven times to scout ahead of them but only had to shift once to return to them. It amazed him how versatile his power was. And yet he still felt he could do more.
    'The black clothes are coming........we must fight,' he thought to the group as he returned to their midst.
    Without hesitation he took up a position in front of all the creatures, facing where he knew the men to be coming from. He looked back at the faces of the creatures. Some of them seemed confident and ready to face whatever may come but others seemed timid, almost fearful. Not all of them had yet come to realize their potential. In fact, some were not so sure they could do anything in defense when the black clothes arrived.
    How could the white coats and black clothes have experimented on such beings? Beings who did not even have the presence to defend themselves before? Again the rage began to boil up inside of him. This world must be made to pay for all of the crimes committed against this group of beings. If some of the creatures could not yet defend themselves, he would do it for them by stopping cold every black clothed being that came against them. They would learn to fear what they had made! He would make them learn to fear their creations!
    As the black clothes rounded the last corner enforce he jaw sprung open and he let loose a mighty sound far bigger than anything his size should have been able to make. It was not truly a roar but felt somehow halfway between one and a howl. Two of the black clothes stopped in place at the sound even if the rest kept charging, weapons raised.
    Without hesitation he stepped back into a shadow and shifted right into the middle of the black clothes' formation. He sprung up from their shadows like a crazed beast. Grabbing one he sommersaulted forward into the air, hurling the man towards a building. In the same fluid motion he dove into the mans shadow. Like he had never stopped moving he slid out of his shift right under the legs of another man, tripping him backwards.
    He looked around at the chaos that had been unleashed. The men outnumbered them by less than three to one and they weren't near fast enough. He grabbed the weapon out of one of their hands and swung it backwards cracking the jaw of another. He punced on the weaponless man and bit at his neck. It was not what he meant to do but it was a primal instinct that came alive at the scent of blood growing heavier in the air.
    "We need backup! This generation is just too fast! Call in units 3 and 4," one of the black clothes spoke frantically before being blasted by a round ball of electricity.
    He paused again to examine the battle. This many men the creatures seemed to be handling quite well. Even though the men weren't fast enough, he couldn't help but think there weapons might be. The burning in his shoulder made him sure of it. And against over twice this number? He had to stop them before they could get to his fellow creatures.
    In the blink of an eye he was off, shifting from shadow to shadow, searching for these two new groups of black clothes. It took only three shifts before he found himself situated directly between them both, standing on the shadow of one of the mounds of stone that belonged to the white coats. As he had feared their numbers looked too great too manage an escape without many of the creatures getting hurt badly.
    'You will never touch any of us EVER again!!' he thought at the black clothes vehemently.
    All of them turned towards him all at once, as though his broadcast thought told them exactly where he was. He wanted them all to focus on him. The longer he kept them here, the more time all the others had to finish the first group and get away unharmed.
    As the bursts of fire rained towards him he shifted into their midst. He twisted and hurled and swung with all six limbs and his tail. He was like a black ball of rage set loose in their ranks. Faster than they could adjust their aim he shifted from shadow to shadow, striking at them with inhuman fury.
    Even as fast as he could shift there were still far too many of them, though. In midair, while slamming one of the black clothes to the ground with his tail and shattering the jaws of two more with his four fists, a stray burst of fire caught him in the shoulder below the one that had been hit earlier. It spun him out of the air to crash onto the ground in the middle of the chaos he had created. He leapt at another of the black clothes but two more bursts stopped him short. One hit his right upper thigh and the other pinned his gut.
    He sagged to the ground on his knees and lower two hands, breathing heavily from exhaustion. The black clothes circled around him quickly and carefully, making sure their shadows were well out of his reach. He looked up at them with contempt as they raised their weapons.
    "Put him down boys," one of the black clothes ordered.
    Before they could fire he raised all his hands into the air and let out an even louder roar than before. One of anger, of frustration......of hatred! All at once a wall of energy seemed to pour out of him in all directions. It was like all of the rage he had felt inside suddenly exploded outwards from him. It moved so fast that none of the black clothes had even time to turn before they were consumed by it.
    A massive bubble of black and purple energy coursed outwards from him, leveling everything in it's path. It grew to such as size that it could have been seen a mile away with ease. When the roar of it finally stopped and the energy dissipated the mounds of stone that had been around him were turned to rubble and little was left of the black clothes he had gone to intercept.
    He looked around himself slowly to see what was left. Once he was satisfied that none of the black clothes posed any further threat he thought of the group again.
    'The black clothes.......their reinforcements.......they are gone,' even his thoughts were labored at this point. 'You will......will be safe once those attacking you are finished.'
    Just as he finished the thought his vision started to fade into blackness. He fell, face forward, into the crater of dust around him. At the very least he had bought all of the others a chance. He had no energy left in him but at least the other's would be able to escape from their tormentors.
    OOC: he ain't dead. he's just spent all of his energy shifting around so much and being shot a few times and using his phantom explosion.
    As I continued to short circuit the wires, I heard thunder. Yes, thunder. Coming from inside the building. A storm was brewing over my head. And I knew what that meant. "This is gonna hurt," I whimpered as the lightning struck me. The lightning traveled from me to the door and hurtled it to the end of the hallway. Somehow it bounced off something and flew back towards us.
    The wolflike creature gave me a look. I cringed. "Sorry," I apologized.
    I looked at the oncoming humans. Their very scent infuriated me. I crouched low to the ground and growled, ready to pounce. "I'm so ready for this! Bring on the humans!" I roared. Then I heard the booming sounds coming from their weapons and felt a stinging feeling in my shoulder. My courage dissipated. "That's it! I'm outta here!"
    I sprinted down the corridor but was blocked by one of the humans in black. "Come with me, pretty kitty. I'll take you back where you belong," he cooed.
    "The hell you are! I'm getting out of here and you can't stop me! In fact, why should I be scared? I'm a big cheetah-slash-lion and you're a puny biped! I should tear you apart for what you did to me!" I sprung in the air and landed on him, claws extended. The claws pierced his chest. I promptly got off of him, knowing that he wouldn't get back up.
    I then took a deep breath, preparing for another electric attack. But instead of the electricity gathering in my paws, they seemed to gather in my teeth. I could feel the sparks jumping from tooth to tooth. It was starting to get uncomfortable. I opened my mouth and exhaled roughly. An orb of electricity shot from my mouth.
    "We need backup! This generation is just too fast! Call in units 3 and 4," a human said as he got blasted by my attack.
    "Oh yeah! Look out for this kitty!" I shouted. It came out as a loud roar. I felt couple more of stings on my back. They were attacking me! How could they? But they felt softer, not as damaging. I could sense an aura surrounding me. I could sense that it was coming from the kangaroo. "What the...the 'roo has some skills!" I could barely feel whatever the humans were shooting at me now!
    'The black clothes.......their reinforcements.......they are gone,' the gorilla creature thought-spoke to us. 'You will......will be safe once those attacking you are finished.'
    "Gotcha! I'm gonna tear these humans up!" I chased after the closest human.
    Z
    The battle raged... and Z was actually fairing well against most. She wasn't a furious fighter- not one to go after everything with tenacity nor to try to help everyone. She fought at her own pace....
    .. but that pace was leathal enough.
    She lowered her eyes, a bit of blood stained upon her thick sable fur as she prepared to take on a group of five. While the others were fairing alright, they were still shaky in their movements and only extreme bursts of emotion seemed to trigger a lot of their powers. Z actually had not used much of her power, but instead used her swift and direct movements. With powerful jaws she crushed their bones and with her foreclaws and back hooves, she crippled bodies.
    The group of five focused upon her... most likely because she had recently crushed the skull of one of their comrades with her hooves after breaking his windpipe. She narrowed her eyes, their violet hue sending a violent shiver within their bodies.
    "Get it..." One of them stated, and at once they all charged. Z bunched up her legs, and with quick movements she leapt into the air. Showers of bullets rained upwards at her, but she some how managed to escape being hit and landed upon one of the bodies. The sheer force of her collision knocked the wind out of him and before he could speak she slammed her rear hooves into his chest- crushing the bones and lungs sheltered by them. She then turned about, and saw two figures running at her.
    Stagger! She willed, and instantly it seemed a crackle of silver intertwined their legs causing them to crash to the ground. She swiftly rammed her body into the third and charged at the other two who had fallen. With a sickening crunch followed by a muffle scream and then another blood curdling crunch, she finished them off swiftly by crushing their necks. Two more...
    She whirled about, seeing the third getting up while the forth seemed to back away. Fear...
    She could sense the ultimate fear... panic... hesitation...
    She was intoxicated by the emotions rampaging about her.
    Baring her fangs she charged... lowering her head she rammed into the third. He fired but at the sound, she immediately felt the crackle of silver and violet repel the bullet away. She had been ready for it... the sounds seemed to cue danger. It was easier that way. Another scream... and this time she simply took her wickedly curved claws and plunged into his stomach and ribs, mauling him literally until he was crippled. Whirling about, her muzzle and rouge figure dripped with blood. Not hers... but theirs. The last figure had so much fear...
    Die. She growled, slowly approaching him... taunting him to fire. He whipped out his gun, but with her command his body seemed to weaken. He cringed and the smell of urine flickered upon her nose... he had wet himself.
    Humans... they tried to be strong, but inside they were weak. Weak to them... weak to her.
    Z prepared to take him down, but suddenly a cry from one of the fellow creatures emerged. She narrowed her eyes and stared at the last figure...
    Suddenly a surge of emotion ran through him and he charged at Z. Z's eyes widened slightly, but before he could touch her suddenly a sparkle of violet erupted from her body causing him to fly back. A sickening crunch echoed through the air as his bones shattered against a nearbye boulder.
    Z than ran to the creature who had cried for help... the soft, kangaroo creature. The figure had fired at him, and Z tilted her head to the side as she dilberately stepped in between the creature and the black shirt figure. The human hesitated... but most anyone would- seeing a blood stained creature of black and mutation. She gave him no time however.. Z charged at him and mauled him before he could get off a shot. Her body weight forced him down and within a fleeting moment she ripped out his windpipe.
    It was at that moment... a message seemed to echo in her mind more clear. She felt an emotion... a rage followed by a calm. It was the shadow ape... he had taken out reinforcements.
    Z felt the need to find him and glancing about... it seemed their battle was over. She swiftly darted into the trees... and after a little bit, she came across his fallen figure. He was breathing still... but she could tell he was exausted.
    With resolution, Z sat down next to his body. Her violet eyes reguarding the forest with a blank expression as she waited for either him to wake up or for the others to come. She didn't expect them to follow, but they had no guidance... perhaps they would come.
    She was silent and sat there... her beautiful black furred body covered in gleaming spots of blood. Her foot prints were partially bloodied as well, but it didn't bother her. She smelled emotions, the blood did not have a scent worth paying attention to.
    Sorry for lateness... been out of town.
    Name: Kay
    Gender: Male
    Human looks: Kind of scruffy, torn baggy pants, dark blue 'Pyromaniac' t-shirt and longish messy brown hair, some piercings. Rough face but often smiled, brown eyes and kind-looking eyebrows. A bit of stubble round the jaw. Quite short about 5ft 6
    X pokes looks: picture:here Large-built reptillian (bit like venusaur) but tall-standing (about 9ft). Dark-bue skin and red bulging eyes. Sturdy tail with boulders on the end. Paws have sticky glowing orange magma on them. Thick hide with scales. Ability is rock head. Has sharp teeth but only made of pumice. Scales also made of pumice. High HP but defence lower than average. Insides glow orange/yellow (can be seen in mouth, nostrils, ears).
    Type: Fire/Rock
    Attacks: Fire Bomb: rock type attack which always burns. Fires a smouldering flaming boulder at the opponent from its mouth - the boulder is magma that solidifies in mid-air.
    Smokescreen
    Sludge Bomb
    Personality: Laid-back and confident, and a bit of an idiot. Pot-smoker. Never picked on anyone unless picked on by them. Got into trouble a lot of the time. Was a bit lonely - not taken seriously. A bit ott when it came to hot girls. Would say some odd things for no reason.
    History: Has been involved with police for fighting, also had suicidal impulses after his sister died of a tumour.
    Memory: Being barraged by rocks from older kids when he was little. His head was hit and he's never been right since. The thing that turned him around to being an idiot.
    Other: age 16
    Still not fully awakened, he sat in his corer, shaken, rocking back and forth on all fours. He had seen the strange creatures come and go, some seeming approachable, others seemed intimidating, most with bizarre powers that had ended the lives of dozens of men. He had never seen so much bloodshed.
    He couldn't understand what had happened. When he had awakened initially he was torn between believing this was a dream or his previous existence was. Whatever was the case he wanted out of this existence. It was too strange for him. His large lumbering body seemed alien to him, like it wasn't even his. The drool that trickled onto the floor emitted an orange glow and melted into the floor itself.
    His mind wasn't up to scratch either. What he had awakened from was something closer to reality... but it could only have been a dream, as this here and now was the reality. The humans he had once been so close to and whom he had loved could only have been a construction of his imagination. He was clearly not human.
    So what would happen now? His rocking failed to cease - it brought him comfort and he wouldn't stop soon. The air also brought cooling comfort from the clostrophobic tank he was confined to, he being the last one out. He tried to gather his thoughts. He could remember the panic that had set in when he realized he was trapped behind solid glass, and the burning sensation as the fluid he was suspended by began to boil by his own body heat, and the glass that began to distort and bend before opening up, spilling its contents, the monster along with it.
    He didn't like being alone, but he was afraid of those other creatures. The panic he had felt was setting in as he thought more on his situation. His rocking grew more violent as his forearms seemed to start to melt. The rocky spikes on his back lifted, like hair on the back of the neck. His deep, monstrous breating gurgled and became more rapid.
    'Get up you pussy!'
    A sharp but short, hoarse roar came from his large jaws, his eyes wide and suddenly alert. Large red eyes revealed a orange glow from within the pupils, which became more and more intense. That voice was familliar, but he couldn't pinpoint who or where it came from. There appeared to be nobody around, plus the voice was too whispered and too echoed.
    'You fat bastard - chicken s***!'
    The rocking had stopped. The mouth - rimmed with teeth - was ajar and the glowing magma from inside its body began to seep out from the corners of its mouth. Its eyes bulged as its heart raced. It looked around... the place was a wreck. It would have been easy to escape now. But it would've been easier for him to rot in his little corner.
    'Rot all you want. No one will care.'
    He lifted his front paws (which were half-welded into the floor) and stood upright, his nostrild flaring from the rush of air he had caused by standing. He began to decide whether to stay or to leave.
    Ski-Aki Chan
    Ski sighed to itself, or more of herself. Yes she had discovered her name, and everything. But to her, it just didn't fit right, to her, there was something missing in that memory. Bu either way, everything was too chaotic to think.
    She landed beside the Kangaroo, who seemed to nod in acknowledgement at her presence. She nodded back, before landing gently on the floor beside i.t "I'm Ski-Aki." She answered, the gentleness returning to its voice. He nodded again, as the fighting had stopped. "I'm... Miles." He answered. I nodded aswell.
    "Come." Someone said, but it failed to notice who. Only thing it was for sure about that everyone was heading the way that the hooved creature had ran. As everyone clambered down the hallway, they were greatted by the hooved creature, and the shadow ape who was collasped on the floor.
    ~~~~~

    I had opted to stay out of the battle, observing from the safety of the air. Whilst the other creatures had fought I had gotten to know my new set of wings. They weren't so bad really, kept me out of the heat of battle and let enjoy the thrill of flying. Though...my direction wasn't so great. I did help out a bit, took some of those black clothes for some unexpected flying trips. Of course, I didn't make it look like I was helping out because of how much fun it was.

    Eventually, we managed to fight off all the black clothes and the black ape let us know that he had fought off reinforcements. Everyone seemed to pile out towards the woods. I followed by air, keeping a reasonable distance from the group but keeping them in sight. I had grown fond of my wings very quickly and was eager to test out their capabilities and push them to their limits.

    I was them slowly gathering where the black ape had collapsed and the strange hooved creature was waiting. Right, I thought, time to work on my landing... I focused hard then leaned down slowly, trying to make a calm decent. I lost my balance quickly and began to plummet, I just couldn't pull up! I hit the ground head first a few meters aways from everyone. The force of the impact caused me to flip onto my back and I skidded across the hard ground until hitting some small rocks, wherein I was then thrown back onto my stomach - still in constant motion - and did not stop until I connected head first to a large boulder.

    I lay there for a moment groaned before slowly sitting up, rubbing my head. Oww...need to work on my landings a bit...

    ~|:Miles Valiant = Recovering from Battle:|~

    Thankfully, the rest of the human had fallen easily to those with much more power than I. In a matter of what seemed like minutes, the battle was over and were searching for our escape route, a path the hooved creature seemed to know well.

    As we all emerged into the open air of the labratory's grounds. In the distance, a large figure laid in a clearing like that from a Blast Zone. The one we had followed here was already by its side. As I, myself, neared the figure, it came to memory that it was the ape-like monster. He seemed badly battered and shot up and lay quietly in the grass. I hopes for the best, I bounded forward, using my powerful legs to move hastily to his side.

    He seemed unconsicous. I knew he wasn't dead seeing as how we was breathing; they were shallow, as to be expected, but still steady. I looked around to see many more of the human than we had fought, all of them dead and grotesquely twisted from the ape's attacks.

    I shuddered at the devastating condition his was in. I could almost feel the pain that agonized him to the core of his genetically mutated body. As with the situation with Ski-Aki in the battle, I knew I had to do something. The power I had used during the fight would be of no use here, but the nature of the attack seemed to open possibilities in my mind....

    The warm desire to restore the health to the calm beast raged inside my head. "The poor thing. He risked his life to save all of us. Now look at him." I lowered my head as I wished for his health and energy to return. I reminded me of the memory of the girl; a soul stuck in an unconscious and defenseless state.

    "I must be able to help somehow! I've got to restore his liveliness. The words echoed in my head as they had before in the hallway. "Restore him...Restore....Restore!" I felt that radiant warmth eminate from my forehead once again. I closed my eyes and let the gem do it's work.

    I opened my eyes to see a gentle, green light glowing upon his weak body. I could feel the life returning to him, the longer the rays shown upon him. The many bullet holes on his body slowly healed, leaving only scars as proof of the battle. He opened his eyes and began to sit up. The hooved girl next to me kept him down. "Rest..." She said as he submitted to her actions.

    "She's right, you know. You still need your rest." I added, "We still need to figure out where to go from here anyway..."

    If you don't know, the healing thing is one of many possibilities for Miles' Gem Flash ability. It's a simple healing, but enough to keep someone alive and help them recover from damage faster.

    /\~Drake Costello~/\

    As the door flew out into the hallway, we followed it, and were met with a large force of gun-wielding humans in black uniforms. One of them shouted something, and they began firing at us. A bullet pinged off my claws, and I growled. How dare they attack us! They steal us from our homes, experiment on us, turn us into beasts, and then expect us to just let them mow us down? Sorry, not going to happen.

    I leapt into the air, landing in the middle of the cluster of humans. They cried out, shocked by my sudden appearence. I heard guns cock, and jumped out of the way just as they shot. It would have worked, had I still been in the center of the group. My sudden absence left them firing into their own ranks.

    Before they could stop, several among them were already dead, dying or mortally wounded. Several others turned to me, cocking their weapons again. I stared into their fearful eyes, and in moments they were on their knees, making mournful, pitiful noises. I made quick work of them with my jagged claws.

    Ski Aki Chan
    Beginning

    Ski-aki looked around nervously. All these creature, now claming down, but still focused on the ape creature. Looking around, Ski noticed that now, they were alone in the middle of the sea. and to add to the choas, she could smell a storm coming. the sent of the salty breeze picked at her nose as she raised it into the air.
    As everyone countined to ponder certain question, she alone walked to the cliff edge, that connected to a Helicopter landing pad. She could tell that the man she had seen earlier had flown off in one of the helis a while ago. Before they had begun to murder the vengeful black suited humans.
    'This Generation...' Thought Ski, looking up into the crystal clear blue sky. She could see out of the corner of her eye the storm, quickly moving towards them. 'There was more before us...? Just... How many more...?'

    I will be Playing the Mysterious Man for Certain Parts of the RPG. Other then that, he's basicly not in anything else.

    Mysterious Man
    Beginning Of a War

    Sitting alone in the darkness, the same Darkness that continued to consume his insanity driven mind. The man pondered about the where abouts of his creatures, and wether or not the units had actually even defeated them. He lit up his cigerette before tossing the nearly empty lighter into thesmall garbage can beside him.
    "Sir."
    He looked up, his deep brown eyes looked up just above his dark sunglasses, which would've made it seem as if he was focusing on the random pieces of papers and such in front of him.
    "Yes?"
    The Grunt moved forward, handing him another paper before turning to leave, the man stopped him.
    "What happened?"
    "Units 1, 2, 3, and 4 were killed sir." He sighed, looking down at his shoes. "Just as you expected."
    The man began to laugh, dropping the papers and jumping out of his chair. As if he had won the lottery, turning to the giant screen behind him, more stats appeared on it.
    "What about the others..."
    "They're Begin Trained as we Speak. But Sir, this Generation..." The Grunt figgited nervously before looking up at the back of the man. "They're to much."
    "Nonsense." The man answered, turning swiftly to the grunt. Just as the screen shut off. "To Us yes..." He trailed off, picking up a small black and navy blue ball. He placed it right in front of his eyes, his dark brown color glinted and shined in the small bit of light the table lamp provided. Then his gaze travelled to the Grunt, who was so nervous he was shaking. "But To This... No.."

    The monster clambered on all fours on top of some rubble. He could see the sky and that it could only be early hours... a bright clear start. But it and the sound of the rushing waves on the shore soothed his nerves. The cool breeze was a natural, fruity scent, unlike the sterile confinement of the mysterious building. In the trees birds had gathered from roost and they were chirping and squabbling. The change of scene had taken away the stress of recent events.

    He wondered where the other monsters had gone. There wasn't much for them to have disappeared to. He wondered about those strange powers they were using. He had only caught a glimpse of them, being too afraid to stick around he'd spent most of his time behind a machine.

    'Aren't you gonna look for them?'

    Closed eyes, the monster shook his huge mug. He didn't even know who he was shaking his head too, but was too confused to care at the moment. But then he stopped his calm swaying sharp, wide eyed. He looked around. Trees, some shattered rocks... blood. The scent hit him as the wind began to pick up. But he could smell something else amongst the bitterness of the dead bodies.

    'They're around, you know...'

    "I know." It didn't quite come out as he'd expected... more like some primal gurgling and grunts. He wasn't even too sure how humans spoke any more, or whether he was ever able to use humanspeak in the first place.

    'They're right there.'

    He turned around to see a singed landscape. The smoke from the ground obscured his view, some tropical plants had been flattened out from the blast and the monster wondered if it had been the same explosion that shattered some of the building. He didn't move from the spot, but watched carefully from a distance.

    Smoke softly billowed, but in the gaps he made out one single creature. All he could see at first was fur... the smoke kept getting in the way. But behind the next cloud a pair of eyes met his. His heart began to quicken again. He saw something glisten above those eyes... some kind of gem? It really was one of the creatures.

    ~~~~~
    When my head finally stopped spinning and the ringing in my ears finally ceased I took a look at my surroundings. I had missed the group completely, winding up on the edge of this island. The endless ocean stretched out in front and a storm was blowing in slowly. I could smell it. But I could smell something else too, something that was familiar to my own. I scanned as bit, my eyes finally coming to rest on a very large, furry red creature.
    Eager for some interaction I flew over quietly. "Something bothering you?"
    She looked at me, I knew it was a 'she' from the scent. I was surprised, for such an alarmingly large and - in no offence - rather startling creature she had such soft eyes. And right now, those eyes were showing an awful lot of emotion. "This is about more than just what has happened to us isn't it?"
    "It was one of them, they called us 'this generation...'"
    "Oh. You're thinking about the 'others' aren't you? You're wondering how many came before us, what happened to them, what's going to happen to us..."
    She nodded.
    "I might not be the best guy for advice - but then again I might just be a great person to go to for advice - but I think that this will ever get any better if we dwell on it. The time will come when we find out what happened to those who came before us and we can deal with it then. As for us...well we've come this far haven't we? And I'm sure that there'll be a whole ton of surprises waiting for us in the future. The only advice I can give is..take each day as it comes and don't give up."
    *knocks* Hello? Anybody home? Let's keep a-movin', guys! Don't want this to die, now do we?
    ~|:Miles Valiant = Decisions, Decisions:|~
    I left the creature where he lay, giving him the time he would need to recover from his now-healing wounds. Our group grew larger once again as another creature emerged from the aftermath of the battle inside. "He must be the last one. I thought as I counted off as many of the containment tubes in the lab room. I approached those that were discussing our future plans.
    I could tell from their expressions, as well as from the salty breeze in the air, that we were al stranded on an island in the ocean. A darkness loomed in the sky to the east. A storm was eminently nearing. "Well, I think we need to go somewhere." I stuck my nose into the conversation. Ski-Aki jumped a little, unexpecting of my presence.
    "Geh!" She blurted, "Don't do that!" Many of the others smirked, some even letting out a little laugh!
    "Where shall we go, then." The hooved creature that stood over the ape chimed in.
    We all began to ponder where we could possibly go. Obviously, none of us knew where we were, but I was sure there had to be someway to find out. "Hmmm.... I don't think staying here so going to help at all. What other choice do we have anyway?" None of us exactly had the greatest of options as it was...
    "We need decide quickly too... That storm is moving in fast!" The cheetah creature also added.
    "Crossing the ocean was an open option." I considered, "But how would beasts like me and the ape cross?"
    *sighs* I was worried this would happen... Guess I'll try and catch up...
    >+-Daryon-+<
    I had mostly stayed around the outer fringes of the battle, taking out any of the humans who came near me with my claws or fangs. I was still unsure of myself; in fact the thought that I was actually killing horrified me, but I knew that if I didn't I would likely have been killed.
    Afterwards, I had wandered back toward the ruins of the lab. Smoke billowed about. A new monster was there, a large firey creature reminiscent of a Venosaur. He seemed very distraught. I kept my distance from everyone and lay down in the dust, absorbed in thought.
    Short crappiness, sorry...
    Yeah, I can break necks with my mind.
    subject #3078, Keegan
    Voices surrounded him in the darkness. He could not make out what was being said but the voices seemed heated, angry. They were almost to the point of yelling. In the distance he could see the shadows of two people facing each other. They were the source of the voices.
    As the incoherent arguement continued, the smaller of the two shadows suddenly roared into shouting. The shadow finally stopped and turned to leave but the larger shadow didn't seem to want to allow it. It moved across and grabbed the smaller shadow by the arm. The smaller shadow struggled to break free but the larger shadow was stronger. It struck the smaller one and twistd it around, slamming it across the top of a nearby counter. The shattering of glass could be heard and the smaller shadow let out an inhuman scream of pain, as if it's very soul were being ripped from it's being. The larger shadow paused for a moment, looking at the form of the smaller shadow on the floor. For just one brief moment the voice of the larger shadow could be heard clearly.
    "Well aren't you the little fierce one. Your mother and I should have named you Keegan," it said in a warm but malevolent tone.
    His eyes slid open as he heard the voice of his fellow creatures around him. They were debating what the groups next course of action should be. Obviously they couldn't remain here but they apparently were located on an island so departure presented a few logisitical problems. It was no doubt an impossibly long way to swim and not everyone was gifted with flight, including himself.
    As he slowly rose to his feet, much of his body still sore around where he had been shot, the hooved wolf turned back to him and seemed almost relieved to see him awake and seemingly better. He scanned the faces of all the creatures and it occurred to him that they all had names and he knew not what to call them. He didn't even truly know what to call himself.
    "You are well?" the hooved wolf asked even though she seemed to already know the answer. "You may call me.......Z."
    'I........I have been given no name. The white coats referred to me as subject #3078,' he thought to the creatures and as he thought it the malevolent voice came back to him for just a moment. 'I think you may call me.......Keegan.'
    A few of the creatures took the opportunity to manage an introduction of names but some remained quiet, keeping to themselves. As they spoke he looked out at the sea and noticed the dark clouds creeping towards them. They would want to be well clear of the island before the storm could reach it.
    'Perhaps we could find something to use as a raft for those of us who cannot fly,' he suddenly thought to the whole group. 'I believe it would be much easier for two or three of the flyers to pull a raft than it would be to carry us individually. In any case, we need to start moving now. I fear that storm brings with it more than rain and thunder.'
    He once again scanned their faces to guage their reactions. They were all in the same boat but he did not yet truly know any of them. Even though it felt right that they at least left the island and reached shore as a group, some of them may not have felt the same. Perhaps some of them even felt they should all seperate. He watched their faces closely to see what they might decide.
    Ski-Aki Chan
    She was secluded, Talking to the Dragon, and the Kangaroo. Which eventually she found they're names to be Miles and Gureth. But for the Kangaroo, she had alreadey known his name. They had introduced themselves before.
    "A Raft is a Good Idea..." Ski thought aloud, couple of the other creatures looked over at her.
    She then noticed Miles, he was looking at the ground, concealing himself in probable fear, and nervousness of the high waters coming.
    "Do you not like water?"
    "Well.." He began, a very shy tone coming from him. "It's just... I'm Small, and even little waves are huge to me. I Don't want... To Be swept away."
    Everyone seemed to know his fear, for such a small creature, the waves that would most undoubtably hit the raft, had a very high chance of washing him away. Ski-aki found herself in a odd position.
    "Well then, you can ride on one of the flyers." She offered, not really consider that the other flyers might not like it. She was mostly suggesting herself anyways. Not like Miles would want to ride of Gureth. Who couldn't land if he was offered his old life back.
    Gureth
    ~~~~~

    "I'll carry you if you'd like Miles," I offered politely.
    "Really?" he seemed to brighten up a bit.
    "Sure. I don't mind. It might take a while to get used to carrying you but these are pretty strong wings and I'll cope just fine."
    Miles beamed slightly, "thankyou very much."
    I merely smiled and bowed my head to him. I didn't mind giving him a lift, I didn't mind one bit. So long as we got off this stinking island I didn't care what we did. I saw that Ski-Aki was looking at me strangley. I tilted my head to the side and frowned slightly, "what's up with you?"
    "Nothing," she replied. "I'm fine."
    I shook my head, she was probably lying but it wasn't my business to know. "Should we get started on this raft then? The sooner we get outta here the better."

    ~|:Miles Valiant = Fear of Water, Fear of Flight:|~

    I was suddenly surrounded by ideas of crossing the ocean in various different ways...I had the choice of riding a rickety old raft which we would be building or riding on Gureth's back, the creature currently incapable of landing without some sort of dangerous contortion... "Hmm... Concussion or drown?

    I stood there, trembling in fear of my decision. "Pick your poison, I guess... I was about to agree to ride with Gureth, but a sudden comfort rained over me as I remembered Ski-Aki's words. "I could travel on ANY of the flyers!"

    "Thank you very much, Gureth," I returned the offer, then refused, "but I'd like to ride with Ski-Aki, if that's ok with you... Both of you..." I grinned a little to show my appreciation to both sides. I greated accepted Gureth's offer, but I felt safer riding with Ski, seeing as how we already had a close bond from the battle; we trusted each other in more ways than just as allies already.

    "Well," I asked to those around, "what are we going to use to make the raft?" I noticed that only a few of us really had hands.... But I'm sure we could figure something out to make it work. There were a couple of palm trees near the beaches.

    Several other noticed this, as well as the vines the grew upon the facility's walls. Imani asked out, "So... Who here can cut down trees?"

    Yay! BLOOD TIME! lol...

    Z

    Z refrained from talking much... although she did answer Keegan... although she wasn't sure why. She didn't feel quite comfortable speaking up so much, but for some reason she eased up when Keegan spoke- as if she could talk to him with less... lesss... what? She didn't fear speaking... perhaps she just prefured not to speak. At the idea of a raft, Z let out a low growl of approval... causing a few to glancea t her, but it was easily apparent that she meant no harm. She shifted at the talk... agreeing with the course of action but not really showing it. It was rather unique... she did not show emotion, but yet she could sense it.

    Cut down the trees...? Z looked about, and she let out another growl. The one who called himself Keegan glanced at her, and she sensed his obvious confusion at her own little growlings. She offered a blank stare at him, which perhaps showed a bit of frustration. She wanted to help but as far as she knew... she could only will p-
    Will.
    Z suddenly got an idea, and walking right through the middle of the group she approached one of the trees. She stared at it intently, and then focusing her will much like she had done for the door and against the men... she spoke to it.
    Cut.
    She felt some thing tweak... but she was unsure of what it was. Was it with in her...? Did she have some other ability...?
    She perhaps would have to ask stronger.
    CUT!

    Z perhaps might have wished afterwards that she didn't "will"...

    Suddenly her body felt as if it were twisting with pain, like some creature had stabbed a thick object with in her gut and had jerked it about in a 360 angle. It was followed but a rumbling from deep with in, and it felt as if her entire body was flushed with flaring and seering flames that ran through her veins. She felt a surge of darkness well up with in her, and it was painful.. overwhelming and it didn't occur with in her mind but rather it seemed to rise from with in her abdomin and her back. She let out a stifled cry... as a few seemed to take a step forward, but instantly her mind rang out-
    Stay away! It wasn't a telepathic message... but almost like a feeling... an aura or sense. They stepped back... and it was a good thing too.

    Suddenly sickening sounds of tearing flesh echoed in the air- ripping sounds that echoed the popping noises of bones shifting. Blood erupted into the air like a miniture down pour of a small cloud, and instantly streams began to drain down upon her back. Specks of blood were spattered upon the tree and all over Z... and it wasn't long before her blood dripped down to the ground. Her blood wasn't even normal colored.. it had a thick crimson accent but swirled with a deep ebony violet shimmer. Her back was torn up... obviously huge gapping flesh wounds exposed a bit of her own muscle tissue and bone. However... intermixed itno the bone tissue seemed to be a metallic-like additive, and what rose above her back seemed to cause everyone to enable with fear.

    Rather huge, massive wings were spread out upon Z's back. They were designed morbidly... resembling bones but yet they were flat and gleamed of bloody metal. Feather-like designs were placed upon them as well, intermixing with the bone-like appearance for there were gaps with in them. At the edge of the ends of her wings... dagger-like ends that seemed far more deadly than any claw or man-made knife. Heavy blood glazed over the metal and it dribbled down to her body and parts of the ground. Z's eyes were wide... as she sensed her own wings and while the immense pain burned about her like poisen in the eyes, she showed little emotion. A blank stare...

    "Are-" Some one was about to speak, but suddenly lightening-like movements rippled through the air. The wings had swung forward, and the outter edge of them penetrated into the tree. With two swift cuts, suddenly the tree fell downwards... away from the group, and it crashed to the foresty floor below. Z was perhaps slightly shocked and the realization of this new power... but she showed an inner calmness.
    "I will cut..." She stated flatly, preparing to take down another tree.

    [ Z's in pain, but she doesn't show it. She will reject healing as well... for he rown reasons. Most likely because she sensed the light power from the healing and her dark side doesn't appeal to that as much. ]

    Imani Dune

    I stared at the hooved creature as she proceeded to chop down trees. But I wasn't going to let her show me up. "Oh, no you don't! Let me help you!" I shouted. I tensed up and let the electricity flow through me. I felt it concentrate in my mouth and get stronger. I opened my mouth and coughed, and the orb of electricity shot out, knocking down a tree.

    "Oh yeah! Easy as coughing up a hairball!" I joked. I shot out two more orbs and stood back as two more trees fell. "Hey Miles! Let's go get something to tie these trees together." We ran together to the outside wall of the lab. I took a vine in my mouth and started to pull. It was hanging in there, though. I would need help. "Miles, help me pull!"

    "Okay." He grasped the branch with his tiny paws and started to pull with me. We pulled harder and harder until the vine snapped. Miles and I were sent flying backwards and crashed in a heap. Unfortunately, I was the one on top.

    I laughed nervously. "Heh heh. One down."
