My thoughts about the future of the show

This isn't a prediction thread for future episodes. It's just what I think should happen in the future of the anime, ideas for what the writers should do with the current plot. It's not a "if this doesn't happen, I'll cry" thread, it's a "I think this should happen to keep the story fresh, but if they don't do it, I'm jack with that" thread. Complainers about the plot now need not apply.

Here's what I believe would make the anime more interesting:

• They should split the anime in two and have a spin-off where Brock and Max go off on their own and travel. Max would get his license and first Pokemon, and Brock should be a coordinator. It would be another "Ash/May" sort of thing but in a different context. I'm getting sick of the writers ignoring Max and focusing on Ash and May. I don't hate May(the Grand Festival was her best development yet) but they really need to either reduce the group to two, and this spin-off would not delete Brock and Max(who have potential to grow - Brock's already gotten new Pokemon and Bonsly is getting some screen time)
• Team Rocket should stop being comic relief. Come on, they need better development! What's with this James giving Chimecho to his rotten parents(who tried to marry him off to a psycho, need I remind you) and getting a Manene? If it evolves, James would have a Pokemon owned by the twerps(actually, Ash's mom owns Mr. Mime). They need to stop treating Team Rocket like the butt of every joke and either make them a threat or have them reform and give them their own show. Make the series a little less funny or put the jokes elsewhere. I know this is a comedy, but it's basically more action/adventure, and they should reflect it.
• While we are at it, put some romance in the show! People are whining about all the shippy hints between Ash and Misty, then the writers dump her for some other girl! They should bring Misty back and have Ash and Misty make out or something. That or have Ash fall for May. Yeah, I know this is not the type of anime for that, but Pokemon should have a more serious undertone in it. Love sub-plots will make the older fans like us watch. (Of course, I'm the guy who loves Yu-Gi-Oh, which has no romantic sub-plots whatsoever, but hopefully they'll change that in the second season by having Jaden fight to save Alexis from...oops, better not spoil anything here!)
• Get rid of Harley! Yeah, I've joined the "Harley-haters" club, but after what he did in the Grand Festival to ruin May's score in the prelims, he deseves to die horribly. Him and his Pokemon. If we're going to have a recurring villian, we should have the same for Ash, like having Morrison come back in the Battle Frontier. Speaking of which...
• Have Ash meet more old friends from his travels. They went the right way by having Koga's sister and Duplica show up in Johto, but they should have more than just cameos for characters. May could meet Grace or Kelly in the Grand Festival in Kanto, or Ash could meet Harrison and Morrison in the Battle Frontier league, if they have one. (I don't know where the writers are going with this plot.) This gives us some nostalgia.
• Also, have episodes centered over Ash's old Pokemon. Maybe not Butterfree, but Pidgeot and Primeape. A lot of people are mad that the writers have forgotten that Ash's team wasn't always just what he has now.
• Finally, have Ash be a little more flexible in his travels. He should switch Pokemon and use his Johto pals like Bayleef and Cyndaquil. I want to see them evolve or gain new attacks.

Anyways, I admit I did complain a bit, but the writers are missing big opportunities here! Anyone want to contribute?

well put and those would make great changes, but don't count on it. This is a T.V. show centered on 8 year olds mainly, and it doesn't get very complex.

The usual Epi:

1. Ash and co. Walking in forest

2. cheesy title usually involving a pun and the pokemon of the day

3. pokemon appears

4. pokemon needs help

5. team rocket attacks

6. team rocket's plan is foiled

7. Characters say goobye, sun sets

9. they walk over the horizon and the female character's head gets all big and mad

Please read the statement I made before about this thread. I know that the writers won't bother changing the formula that wins the hearts of young kids, I just said that if I were writing Pokemon, that is what I would do. I made this thread to see what people would do if they were writing Pokemon. It's a hypothetical thread.
